  • Building Information Modeling (BIM) has been adopted in variety domain of construction industry. In this circumstances, interest of BIM model quality has been increased. In many countries, automated building code checking system by Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) has been developed and studied to use web based building permission systems. IFC is international standard of BIM format. However, the data structure of IFC does not include all of objects and properties about national building codes. In this paper, we developed the information specification between IFC data structure and national building code to increase interoperability. First, we drew the criteria from literature review to analyze the building code. And then, we analyzed building code and sorted objects and properties for automated building code checking. After that we made mapping table between the sorted data and IFC specification. Using the mapping table, we developed pre-specification about building codes information that does not exist in IFC specification. And the defined information can be used to develop the BIM modeling guide and national building permission system. The pre-specification support increasing the interoperability between user and automated building code checking system. Increasing thee interoperability makes improvement accuracy and reliability about result of automated building code checking.

  • Some adequate programs for mathematising are necessary to pre-service mathematics teachers, if they can guide their prospective students in secondary school to make a mathematising. They should be used to mathematising. In this paper, mathematising teaching units for the inquiry into number partition models with constant differences are designed for this purpose. They guide a series of process to make nooumenon for organizing phainomenon which is organized already through number partition model. Especially the new nooumenon and the process of obtaining it are discussed. But it is restricted when the numbers for partitioning are natural numbers, and elements and their differences are integers. Through these teaching units, pre-service mathematics teachers can experience and practice secondary mathematising, as they go through the procedures which are similar with those of mathematicians making theorems.

  • In this paper, we designed a teaching unit for the learning mathematization of secondary pre-service teachers through exploring the relationship between partition models and generalized fibonacci sequences. We first suggested some problems which guide pre-service teachers to make phainomenon for organizing nooumenon. Pre-service teachers should find patterns from partitions for various partition models by solving the problems and also form formulas front the patterns. A series of these processes organize nooumenon. Futhermore they should relate the formulas to generalized fibonacci sequences. Finding these relationships is a new mathematical material. Based on developing these mathematical materials, pre-service teachers can be experienced mathematising as real practices.

  • Objectives: Pre-pregnancy diet has an important role in preparing for healthy generation. However, evidence on this issue has been scarce. A scoping review synthesising current evidence will support the demand to map 'what has been researched' on pre-pregnancy diet and maternal and child health. Methods: Systematic search was performed using PICOS (Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes, and Study design) framework in electronic databases. Articles were screened for eligibility, summarized, and the quality was assessed using the National Institute of Health assessment tool. The review structure complies with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews guide. Results: Forty-two articles were included after full-text screening. Twenty-five studies were in high-income countries (HICs), six in each upper-middle income, five in lower-middle income countries (LMICs), and one in low-income countries (LIC). Based on the regions: North America (n=16), Europe (n=5), South America (n=4), Australia (n=4), Asia (n=5), Middle East (n=2), and sub-Saharan Africa (n=1). The two-most observed diet-related exposures were dietary pattern (n=17) and dietary quality (n=12). The most assessed outcome was gestational diabetes mellitus (n=28) and fetal and newborn anthropometry (n=7). The average quality score±standard deviation was 70±18%. Conclusions: Research related to pre-pregnancy diet is still concentrated in HICs. The context of diet may vary; therefore, future research is encouraged in LMICs and LICs context, and Mediterranean, South-East Asia, Pacific, and African regions. Some maternal and child nutrition-related morbidity, such as anemia and micronutrient deficiencies, have not been discussed. Research on these aspects will benefit to fill in the gaps related to pre-pregnancy diet and maternal and child health.

  • This study investigated the understanding of pre-service teachers in relation to the 'fog experiment' in the 5th grade 'Weather and Our Daily Life' unit of the 2009 and 2015 revised elementary school science textbooks. Pre-service teachers who participated in this study were 100 students, who are attending the university of education and taking courses in teaching research. After pre-learning about the 2009 and 2015 revised elementary school science textbooks and guide book, pre-service teachers conducted the experiment in groups. After that, the pre-service teachers individually presented answers to three questions, and the results of analyzing the answers are as follows. First, there were 24 (24%) preservice teachers who explained the difference in fog generation in the 2009 and 2015 revised curriculum with related scientific concepts such as condensation and water vapor, and only 1 (1%) of them explained the difference using the concept of saturation. Second, there were 48 (48%) pre-service teachers who found out the reason for the change in the fog experiment method according to the change in the curriculum. Third, pre-service teachers valued the reproduction and success of experiments rather than the importance of scientific knowledge, and such pre-service teachers suggested the use of alternative experiments or website.

  • The effectiveness of vehicle parts made through extrusion is in the limelight because of the advantages of high strength stiffness materials can be produced and the number of processes can be drastically reduced. Therefore, the parts should have sufficient stiffness and be lightweight enough to improve fuel efficiency. However, the application of extruded aluminum requires pre-bending technologies that can manufacture the complex designs profiles demanded by vehicle parts. The aim of this research is that the development of the variable curvature extrusion technology that can produce a variety of curvature. In order to produce a variable curvature, the guide transfer speed and transfer time should be controlled properly. The guide transfer speed and transfer time were examined by the theoretical analysis. A model was developed to simulate the deformation behaviors of extrusion and bending process from the symmetric bumper with range of radii from 1863mm to 2163mm. The theoretical analysis and FE analysis were verified through experimental method.

  • PURPOSE: The application of computer-aided technology to implant dentistry has created new opportunities for treatment planning, surgery and prosthodontic treatment, but the correct selection and combination of available methods may be challenging in times. Hence, the purpose of this case report is to present a combination of several computer-aided tools as approaches to manage complicated implant case. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A 47 year-old female patient with severe dental anxiety, high expectations, financial restrictions and poor compliance presented for a fixed rehabilitation. A CT scan with a radiographic template obtained with software (SimPlant, Materialize, Leuven, Belgium) was used for treatment planning. The surgical plan was created and converted into a stereolithographic model of the maxilla with bone-supported surgical templates (SurgiGuide, Materialise, Leuven, Belgium), that allowed for the precise placement of 7 implants in a severely resorbed edentulous maxilla. After successful osseointegration, an accurate scan model served as the basis for the fabrication of a one-piece milled titanium framework using the Procera (Nobel Biocare, Gothenburg, Sweden) technology. The final rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla was rendered in the form of a screw-retained maxillary metal-reinforced resin-based complete prosthesis. RESULTS: Despite challenging circumstances, 7 implants could be placed without bone augmentation in a severely resorbed maxilla using the SimPlant software for pre-implant analysis and the SurgiGuide-system as the surgical template. The patient was successfully restored with a fixed full arch restoration, utilizing the Procera system for the fabrication of a milled titanium framework.

  • An artificial neural network model based on a deep learning algorithm is known to be more accurate than humans in image classification, but there is still a limit in the sense that there needs to be a lot of training data that can be called big data. Therefore, various techniques are being studied to build an artificial neural network model with high precision, even with small data. The transfer learning technique is assessed as an excellent alternative. As a result, the purpose of this study is to develop an artificial neural network system that can classify burr images of light guide plate products with 99% accuracy using transfer learning technique. Specifically, for the light guide plate product, 150 images of the normal product and the burr were taken at various angles, heights, positions, etc., respectively. Then, after the preprocessing of images such as thresholding and image augmentation, for a total of 3,300 images were generated. 2,970 images were separated for training, while the remaining 330 images were separated for model accuracy testing. For the transfer learning, a base model was developed using the NASNet-Large model that pre-trained 14 million ImageNet data. According to the final model accuracy test, the 99% accuracy in the image classification for training and test images was confirmed. Consequently, based on the results of this study, it is expected to help develop an integrated AI production management system by training not only the burr but also various defective images.

  • Hydraulic rock splitting is a technique which leads to failure of rockmass by means of water injection with a pressure higher than the tensile strength of rockmass, using straddle packer installed in boreholes drilled from free surface. Field tests were conducted in this study for several slopes of biotite granite according to various designs for borehole layout and water injection. Test results showed that new cracks were generated to connect to adjacent holes or that pre-existed cracks were propagated by injection, finally leading to failure. In particular, this study suggests the possibility of controlling the direction of generated cracks with guide slot, since new cracks were generated parallel to the guide slots carved on a borehole wall before injection. Various types of borehole layout and injection methods should be further developed for the practical uses, considering the factors influencing on crack generation.
