This study is to find the optimal work plan of robot welding in the subassembly process of shipbuilding and to verify the found solution through 3-D simulation. The optimal work plan was established by evenly distributing the work amount to each stage and finding the shortest work sequence. The shortest work sequence was found by using the genetic algorithm. The result was compared with the practically adopted case and verified through the 3-D simulation.

This paper is to evaluate practically the techniques and materials of repair for RC elements with fire damages as well as to investigate the structural behavior of RC beams according to pre- or post-repair after fire-damages. For this purpose, normal concrete flexural specimens were exposed to high temperatures by the ISO 834 specification. After natural cooling and post-fire-curing in a natural environment for 2 months, the specimens were repaired with polymer cement mortar for 1 month curing.

This paper presents a possible methodology to develop a facility layout using practical constraints. Those factors considered in the system are not only used for the evaluation of layout but also for the search to solution on the design process. Necessarily, this method develops practically feasible solutions with less iterations since the infeasible alternative layouts are rejected by the practical constraints before evolutions. The suggested method is implemented in FORTRAN for experimental purposes and the results are discussed in detail.

This paper aims to define country risk, review previous literature, and provide future direction for further research. Country risk is found to be analyzed in various ways in export, foreign direct investment and international finance, and thus analysis of the risk needs an integrated perspective and individual one as well. Systematic analysis, in particular, concentrating on relationship and structure within several risk is required in order to understand the country risk academically and to manage it practically.

Movable scaffolding has been used to work in high places. The scaffolding is economical and convenient to move to other places, but it has the risk of falling down. This paper proposes a fixed bracing system to prevent the falling down of a movable scaffolding, and evaluates its usability by making a small-sized model. Further studies of structural stability, safety, and economical efficiency is necessary to use the system practically.

In this study, we describe the development of viscous inspection equipment for flatron panel glass by Moire phenomenon and propose a new idea to develop an automatic inspection system for viscous or cord defects. It is possible to detect string viscous more easily and the equipment is practically being applied in production line. After using this equipment, the ratio of defective from customer is dropped significantly.

Even though Korean Dentistry practically have adapted the specialty system, the execution of regulation was tentatively delayed during the past 30 years. Recently a group of dentists advocated that the legislation must be executed. The Korean Dental Association announced the new legislation for specialty program to accommodate the desires of almost of dentists. It is prospected to restrict the specialist as low as 8% or up to 15%. But in fact, during the past 10 year, the applicant to the specialty program increased rapidly and about 40% of graduate are in the specialty programs these days.(omitted)

The rechargeable alkaline manganese dioxide(RAM)battery system has reached a performance level that enables the consumer to utilize RAM for practically all applications where currently single use cells(alkaline manganese, zinc-carbon)are being used. In addition, it can replace nickel-cadmium and nickel-metal hydride cells in low to medium power applications with much improved charge retention at higher operating temperatures and in intermittent use and works well with solar charging. A review is given on RAM cell performance as well as a comparison to competing rechargeable technologies. Potential new possibilities in the field of OEM(original equipment manufacturer) applications are discussed.

The robust inventory control problem was proposed and solved by Bertsimas and Thiele (2006). Their results are very interesting in that the problem can be solved easily and also the solution possesses nice properties of those found in the traditional stochastic inventory control problem. However, their formulation is shown to be incorrect, which invalidates all of the results given there. In this paper, we propose an alternative formulation of the problem which uses a different but practically applicable uncertainty set. Under the newly proposed model, all of the useful properties given in Bertsimas and Thiele (2006) will be shown to be valid.

The spindle directly affects parts accuracy during machining, or work piece in machine tools. In this paper a comprehensive study is performed combined mr performance of machine tool spindle. The developed methology has been practically applied to a spindle of machine tools.
