This paper is aimed to improve the current curriculum in the Korean elementary school’s practical course, which covers both industrial fields and Home Economics. Specially inveotigated here are teacher’s attitude toward the practical course and the degree of difficulty in teaching each content of the practical course in the 4th and 5th grade in the elementary school in term’s of teacher’s sex and localing. Since two heterogeneous subjects, industrial fie인 and Home Economics, are integrated into one subject named the practical course, the teaching of the practical course is not specialized. Besides, the teaching is implemented inefficiently, owing to the teacher’s misunderstanding of the practical course. In this respect, as a way of maximizing the effectiveness of practical course in elementary school, the authors suggest some proposals. (1) The curriculum of practical course should be divided into two course, industrial fields and Home Economics (2) All students should be completed Home Economics as a required course (3) A system of full-time teacher for Home Economics subject should be introduced. Concurrently, the curriculum of the practical course in Teacher’s College be modified.

To evaluate the fields of human anatomy and physiology important in clinical practice of physical therapy, a questionnaire survey was performed for 70 physical therapists who were practicing in general hospitals, clinics, public health centers, and rehabilitation centers in several provinces including Seoul and Chungcheongdo. Fields of anatomy and physiology were divided into 13 chapters and subdivided into 52 items. And the preferred ranks were statistically analysed according to the career of physical therapists, nature of the institute and the post of duty. As results joint system, muscular system, skeletal system and nervous system were ranked in the fields of great importance. The relative importance of practical knowledge in anatomy and physiology should be considered in educating students as well as reeducation of practitioners.

A large-scaled research project titled "Intelligent Excavating System (IES)" sponsored by Korean government has launched in 2006. An issue of real-time 3D terrain modeling has become a crucial point for successful implementation of IES due to many application limitations of state-of-the-art techniques developed in various high-technology fields. Many feasible technologies such as laser scanning, structured lighting and so on were widely reviewed by professionals and researchers for one year. Various efforts such as literature reviews, interviews, and indoor experiments make us select a structural light technique and stereo vision technique as appropriate techniques for accomplishment of real-time 3D terrain modeling. It, however, revealed that off-the-shelf products of structural light and stereo-vision technique had many technical problems which should be resolved for practical applications in IES. This study introduces diverse methods modifying off-the-shelf package of the structural light method, one of feasible techniques and eventually allowing this technique to be successfully utilized for achieving fundamental research goals. This study also presents many efforts to resolve practical difficulties of this technique considering basic characteristics of excavating operations and particular environment of construction sites. Findings showed in this study would be beneficial for other researchers to conduct new researches for application of vision techniques to construction fields by provision of detail issues about practical application and diverse practical methods as solutions overcoming these issues.

This stduy aimed to suggest a possible way for a new setting of interior design education through analyzing educational situations of domestic interior design societies. The study showed that interior design education should not follow expressive methods made from practical work which had been popular in the past and it should establish fundamental formation to make interior design education useful in industrial fields through active educationalindustrial complex. Interior design education is not possible without interrelationship with other professional fields and cooperative attitudes among them. The rapid development in the modern industrial world and the ever-growing information processing world regardless of ideology and regiional boundaries indicate that the future of interior design education will be no longer effective with traditional education systems. The idea suggested in this study may be understood as a bridge between the educational reality and its ideal in interior design teaching. The main points of the study are follows. First, the projects of advanced interior design should be focused on increasing the ability for problem solving rather than accumulating basic knowledge. Second, motivation is important for the maximization of the efficiency of educatiov. Therefore a few suggestions in establishing design conditions, as strategies of inducing 'attention', 'self-confidence', 'satisfaction', and 'relevance' are closely examined to propose practical application methods. Third, educational methods should be developed towards creativity in order to increase abilities of thinking and expressiov. Finally, it is necessary to explore various device which help internship participants to get experiences with a sense of practical situations in industrial fields. This could be possibly done by enforcing academic grades for the work done as an internship participation; by employing workmen in industrial fields as faculty members; and by bringing faculty members into actual industrial situations and providing workmen with lectures. A new approach for a better design education seems to be desirable for the future.

Field training system is an establishment for improving practical ability of college students. That system is a learning experience that are relative to university's regular educational curriculum and industry field training. In order to practice an effective field training system, lots of helps from company, college, students and government's interest are needed. But, in most industry fields, it is hard to accept field training manpower in condition of that has no extra guaranteed budget or staff for field training. Because of it, the biggest matter of college the industry field training is to maintain industry fields. Although students want to be paid properly in industry fields where are furnished the advance facilities and equipments and participated in practices, it is extremely hard situation to achieve it in reality. In this way, the management of industry field training has realistic difficult problems, but it is a necessary system. Therefore, in this paper, methodology and model for industry field training management process are suggested in order to administer effective industry field training. If the industry field training are managed by those system mentioned above, students will have chance to exert their creativeness and speediness through field experience, and industry fields where students can get various dimensions of education are expected to manage.

The purposes of this study are to investigate the present conditions of children' Practical use of playing fields and playing facilities within their residential area, and to provide essential data relavant to building outdoor playing field for children which are fitted with children’ developmental features and also are corresponding to their needs. The subjects for this study were 866 children of the 2nd. 4th, and 6th grade living in Taegu. Data were gathered through questionnaires and analyzed by frequencies, percentile, and Chi-Sqaure test. The main results of this study are as follows : Firstly, it was found that the Playing fields children preferred most was 'within their house'. In terms of frequency making use of outdoor Playing fields. 'do not use' held the hightest proportion of children. Second, the playing facility in playing fields, being most frequently used by children, was a slide, following it a swing and a horizontal iron bar took the second, the third place respectively.

In this study, we conduct a case analysis on EZmedicom which is one of the leading companies in e-Marketplace for medical fields. By examining major business models of EZmedicom, we provide the success factors in launching the electronic commerce to the potential companies which are interested in participating in e-marketplace for medical fields. Especially, we deduct the solution, logistics field, and electronic group-purchasing as its major business model. Based on these factors, we also propose the MDvan solution which is one of the electronic purchase and supply system, Ezlogis that is the system supporting logistics parts in medical fields, VMI(vendor management inventory), standardization of item code and the linkage of SCM as its critical success factors of EZmedicom. The findings of this study suggest practical and managerial implications for e-Marketplace implementation in the medical field and further research.

This study aims to compare the current conditions of fashion education organizations in Korea and China. The results are as follows: 1. As for the departments related to fashion in Korea, the department of clothing was most frequently found in the fields of everyday science and natural science and design was most frequent in art related fields. 2. As for the departments related to fashion in China, the department of design was usually found in the fields of spinning and weaving, art, fashion, and others, and a college was dedicated to is having departments related to the fashion industry, much larger in scale compare to Korea. 3. Subject analysis found that both Korea and China put the most weight on the subject of design than any other fields. 4. Subject analysis of the fashion related departments in Korea found that all three department groups put considerable weight on clothing design and clothing composition subjects with other subjects having greater parts in the curriculum. 5. As for the departments related to fashion in China, design-related subjects were most frequently found, irrespective of the title of the fashion department, and the subjects concerning fashion marketing were widely distributed. 6. It seems that the curriculum for fashion colleges in China have been affected by the characteristics of the university before absorptive integration and setting based on the local characteristics rather than by the characteristics of the college. 7. For the curriculum of Korea, it is necessary to divide theoretical and practical ones and to develop practical subjects in association with experts in actual fields. China needs to take into account the local characteristics due to its global curriculum and large area.

Purpose: This research was to develop a module for problem-based learning(PBL) and to enhance the problem-solving abilities of physical therapy students in a neurological physical therapy course and to evaluate the effects of the module using quantitative and qualitative data. Methods: The PBL module was applied to 55 third-year physical therapy students who participated in a neurological physical therapy course at S university in Seoul. Anonymous self-report questionnaires and reflection journals were collected, and the data were analyzed. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the academic achievements of the students who participated in the first PBL class improved compared to the academic achievements of the students who had participated in the same class in the previous semester. Second, the students who participated in the PBL class evaluated the PBL as a very effective learning method for developing clinical practical ability. Third, the students of the PBL class showed increased cooperation and communication abilities between team members. Conclusion: The results of this study indicated that, if PBL class case studies and various types of teaching and learning methods appropriate for theoretical and practical fields are continuously studied, then it is expected that teaching models will be developed that can develop flexibility and creativity among preliminary physical therapists in a rapidly changing medical environment.

This study was planned to define the concept and the patterns of the fields for environmental education through the theory review about the fields for environmental education that were important at school environmental education for field-experience learning, and to survey the using status of the fields for environmental education and the awareness of teachers who have been teaching practically students environmental education in school through the questionnaire. The results derived from this study were as follows ; First, the use of the fields for environmental education in environmental education is necessary aspect of the importance of field-experience learning and the environmental education strategy through personalization of environment and is essential to the substantiality of school environmental education. The concept of the fields for environmental education is defined that it is used as place(space) for environmental education, is located most outdoor space, promote students the concern and consciousness about environment. The patterns of the fields for environmental education may be classified the field for nature observation learning surrounding, the fields for nature observation and field survey, the fields for visit and field trip, and the fields for experience and participation by the contents and the purpose of educational program. Second, according to the results of the teacher's awareness survey, most responded teachers gave an affirmative answer about the necessity of practical use of the fields for environmental education, and it was used mainly in special lecture, weekend, and legal holiday. Also, it was surveyed that time for using the fields was brought as the most serious obstacle by teachers. In particular, teachers preferred the environmental education fields for experience and participation above all others. Third, from the results about the using status of the fields for environmental education, school environmental education mostly have been taught in indoor classroom, school landscape(school grounds) was evaluated the most easily useful the fields for environmental education in formal lecture, because it can solve the lack of time. Also, it was proved that eco-park, stream, and river were fit for the field-experience learning with small students group.
