  • The number of female government employees is increasing steadily; therefore, the importance of their effective management is also increasing. Recently, female government employees have organized and exploited their social networks to achieve career success. To obtain a better understanding of the consequences of social networking and its impact on female government employees, 262 female employees were asked to provide details about their experiences and attitudes regarding networking behavior (internal and external networking) and how they influenced affective commitment and individual adaptation performance. The results confirmed that social networking significantly increases emotional sharing, and leads to high levels of affective commitment and individual adaptation performance. The moderating roles that positive psychological capital play in the relationships between social networking (internal and external) and emotional sharing were also investigated. The results confirmed that positive psychological capital enhances the impact internal social networking has on affective commitment and individual adaptation performance. Managerial implications for developing effective female employee management strategies were provided for government managers. Based on these results, the theoretical and practical implications of the research findings are discussed, and recommendations for future research are provided.

  • People begin to recognize sexual orientation or gender identity in adolescence, and adolescents frequently use an accessible and anonymous anonymity knowledge retrieval community to explore sensitive health information about gender. This study attempted to observe their information search behavior based on questions and answers about adolescents' gender identity in the knowledge retrieval community. First, we wanted to examine their information needs and to investigate what factors they preferred to answer by comparing the characteristics of the answers adopted with the non-adopted answers among the answers provided in the questions they shared. To this end, Naver, Korea's representative knowledge search community. In Knowledge-iN, a total of 358 sets of data were analyzed, consisting of responses adopted over three years from January 2016 to December 2018. As a result, adolescents with concerns about gender identity demanded information about definition or confusion about gender identity. In the responses adopted by the users, the factors that gave empathy and positive feelings were higher than those that were not adopted, whereas the negative responses were higher in the unaccepted answers. This study is meaningful in that it analyzes the information needs and information search behaviors of adolescents with no established gender identity, expands the discussion in the information search field, and confirms cognitive and emotional models for information evaluation of health information users. Also, based on the research results, we propose practical implications for effective information services on gender identity that social media should provide to young people.

  • This study was conducted to derive a positioning map using multidimensional scaling method to understand how the brand image of national foods including Korean food, Chinese food, Japanese food, Thai food, and Vietnamese food is perceived by domestic and foreign tourists. In order to achieve the research purpose, this study collected 250 data through online and offline surveys for potential food tourists who are interested in visiting overseas. Except the unfaithful responses or missing values, 202 data were analyzed. As a result, first, 8 factors which are considered to be important by food tourists were extracted. Second, the result of similarity analysis using ALSCAL and PROXSCAL did not show that the foods of the five countries were very similar, but all countries seemed to be more likely to compete with each other. Third, attribute selection also indicates that mean value of food taste (3.88), national image (3.82), and sufficient food quantity (3.65) had high level of importance, respectively. These results may provide practical implications for development of branding strategy in food tourism.

Luxury Korean restaurants where we apply to this study are selected by the food service industry association of Busan-metro city among the model restaurants. For this aim, designing a research model and drawing a hypothesis were carried out with a basis of advanced research. In data processing, SPSS win package 15.0 statistical program was used to verify the hypothesis through frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis. The result of the analysis on the effects of physical environment factor upon domination among emotional response could be summed up as follows. Employee and geniality factors turned out to exercise a significant impact on domination, convenience and cleanliness turned out not to. The result of the analysis on the effects of physical environment factor upon arousal among emotional responses could be summed up as follows. Cleanliness and geniality factors turned out to exercise a significant impact on evocation, convenience while employee factor turned out not to. As a result of the analysis on the effects of emotional response upon behavioral intention, domination and evocation factors among emotional responses had a statistically significant impact upon behavioral intention. From the findings of the study, it became evident that dining-out customers might regard luxury Korean restaurants as a space for experiencing various emotions by physical environment rather than for dining and meeting for friendship. We conducted a survey of 1,080 food-service employees working in 8 hotels and 4 food-service stores located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Song-do, Gyeongju, and Busan, and 841 food-service employees were employed for statistical analysis except unreliable responses. As a result of a SEM (structural equation modeling) analysis to confirm hypotheses, it was found that team trust (leader trust and co-worker trust) had a positive effect on the cooperative behavior. In addition, the cooperative behavior had a positive influence on the food-service employees' perceived service performance. Also found was the moderating effect of other department support in the relationship between the cooperative behavior and food-service employees' perceived service performance. Based on the research findings, we discussed its academic and practical implications, and suggestions on the future research.
