  • Background: Safety management is required to ensure health and safety of personnel in Norwegian fish farming. However, few studies have addressed the status and practical relevance of this risk-reducing measure. Methods: This article provides new knowledge through interviews with 35 employees at different company levels, addressing perceptions of various safety management activities according to managers and operational personnel. Results: The interviews show that managers and operational personnel at fish farms agree that the quantity of measures aimed to improve safety has increased in recent years. However, some activities are perceived to have higher practical relevance than others. In general, measures that fit well with the practical reality are well received by the employees at the fish farms. Conclusion: Suggested improvements include involving operational personnel in the design of procedures, considering all risk dimensions that may affect occupational health and safety, and challenging the value of specific safety activities based on a detailed knowledge of the distinctive characteristics of work practice in fish farming.

  • In this paper, I developed a scenario-based admission management virtual reality (SAM VR) content for practical training for nursing students and verified the effectiveness. The SAM VR contents used in the study was developed by the researcher using Gear VR and smartphone according to the standard practical procedure suggested by the Korea Acreditation Board of Nursing Education and Evaluation. In the 30 experimental groups who received practical training using SAM VR contents, learning flow, learning confidence, and learning satisfaction increased statistically significantly after the practical training (p<.001). In the control group, who received practical training in the traditional way, learning confidence increased after the practical training (p<.005), but there was no change in learning flow and learning satisfaction (p>.005). It was verified that the SAM VR contents are effective practical education contents for nursing students' learning flow, learning confidence and learning satisfaction.

  • In recent years, the development of digital design methods and structural analysis has made it possible to design complex building shapes. However, the construction of such buildings requires advanced knowledge of production, interaction with actual craftsmen, and verification of construction methods through mock-ups. Despite this, however, design education in Japanese universities is often limited to proposals at the predesign and schematic design stages, and students have few opportunities to study the design development and construction stages. However, in recent years, computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools have become relatively inexpensive and can be handled easily, even by beginners. Therefore, practical training programs intended to familiarize students with manufacturing techniques using such machines are becoming increasingly popular at Japanese universities. This paper reports on the content of a practical training program intended to provide students with practical experience from production to design in the field of manufacturing by using CNC machine tools and other digital fabrication equipment to create a mock-up of a complex curved surface for a building and simulate the process of construction production in the design development and construction management. It is difficult to create curved surfaces using only digital fabrication, and manual processes, such as bending wooden boards along curved surfaces, are required. Therefore, students were required to combine digital fabrication knowledge with hands-on manufacturing skills, including hand-bending and experiential learning, which helped students think about the necessary processes for constructing the shapes they designed.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a remodification of the family resource management curriculum in order to vitalize the entire healthy family specialist program. In January 2005, 'the Act of Healthy Families' was enacted. From then on, healthy family specialists not only have assumed a key role in health family Projects, which is based on the Act of Healthy Families itself, but they have also become key members of the healthy family support centers. Therefore, it can be said that cultivating competent healthy family specialists is vital to the success of the management of the healthy family support centers as well as the entire healthy family project. In order to enhance the quality of the healthy family specialists, we need to modify the current curriculum, which is based on primary courses that offers healthy family specialist licences in the end, into a curriculum that focuses on work-oriented learning and practical education. Especially, the curriculum of public family management should be administered in a way that strengthens the practical management of healthy family support centers. The basic curriculum as well as the guidelines of the practical training that is being conducted through healthy family support centers should also be organized in a way that enhances the professionality and the unification of the healthy family specialist.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to review articles on Nursing Management Minimum Data Sets (NMMDS) and to suggest strategies to improve practical use of NMMDS in nursing management. Methods: A systematic search for articles published until 2013 was undertaken using the following biomedical databases: CINAHL, PubMed, and Google scholar. Seventeen articles were fully reviewed. Results: The results showed that studies were related to updating NMMDS reflecting current EHR use, mapping NMMDS to standardized national databases, and validating, translating and evaluating NMMDS for international uses. NMMDS has three dimensions and was developed reflecting the needs of nurse managers. Conclusion: The study findings provide a summary of recent trends in NMMDS. These results can serve as basic information to promote practical use of NMMDS in the healthcare organization to provide nursing management data for nurse managers.

  • Cost, schedule, and quality are the three major performance indicators for any construction project. Under the globalized competition in the nuclear industry, researchers and practitioners have also explored a systemized and integrated management system for cost, schedule, and quality. In order to address this issue, the concept of earned value management system (EVMS) has been often utilized. However, implementing EVMS for a mega-project of nuclear power plant (NPP) construction requires extensive overhead efforts. Though previous studies proposed structures and methods for effective NPP EVMS, there has been no legitimate study for data collection strategy for practical implementation. In this context, the purpose of this paper is to develop an effective data collection strategy for NPP EVMS. Firstly, the barriers to practical NPP EVMS were identified based on literature review and expert interviews. Strategies for data collection were then developed based on different phases of project life cycle. This study focuses on the 'life-cycle integrated progress management system' for NPP construction from an owner's perspective Therefore, results of this study can be used as a guide for preparing request for proposals (RFP) of an NPP owner organization.

  • Recently, both nationally and internationally, various BIM guidelines have been developed. These guidelines present fundamental principles and standards for the application of BIM. However, practical BIM guidelines for the schedule management area in the construction phase are lacking, making it difficult to apply them effectively in practical work settings. In this study, performance-based delivery guidelines are presented for the key functionalities of 4D CAD systems, which are representative BIM tools used in the construction phase. To achieve this, a survey analysis was conducted to determine the prioritization of these functionalities. Based on the characteristics of the project, delivery guidelines were formulated to allow users to selectively utilize the guidelines at different levels. Furthermore, practical ways to utilize performance-based delivery guidelines for schedule management using 4D CAD were proposed, validating the usability of these guidelines. The research findings suggest that these guidelines for BIM functionality in schedule management can hold practical significance as the utilization of BIM in construction phases continues to increase.

  • This paper focuses on bibliometrics analysis of personnel training in construction management specialty using visualization software CiteSpace from CNKI database. And points out the research situation and development trend of college personnel training on construction management in China. The results show : (1)the research of professional talents in colleges of construction management presents continued activity, and the source journals are widely. There are a lot of researchers pay attention to this issue, but collaborate little with each other; (2)Most of literature fasten on the practical talent training mode, practical teaching reform and course system reformation. Therefore, we should be further strengthened in academic cooperation, be further broadened research scope, be further enriched the insight of the research, and should follow with interest the issue on personnel training on construction management under the background of new engineering disciplines.

  • A practical technology for silkworm disease management at farmer\\`s level was suggested and test verified for its efficacy and adaptability. The technology consisted of disinfection of rearing house and appliances, early disease diagnosis, personal and rearing hygiene and silkworm body and rearing seat disinfection. Besides, the supportive techniques associated in disease management are cited. The validation trials of the technology involving 845 farmers crops with 147,530 disease free layings (dfls) of CSR bivoltine hybrids confirmed the effectiveness of the technology which resulted an average yield of 68.98 kg cocoons/100 dfls.
