  • 자유표면하에 잠긴 복잡한 3차원 물체 주위의 흐름을 해소하기 위한 수치계산법이 TUMMAC(Tokyo Univ. Modified Marker And Cell)법을 기초로 하여 개발되었다. 임의물체의 no-slip 3차원 물체표면조건을 보다 간단히 처리하기 위하여 "porosity"라는 개념이 도입되었으며, 담수성에 잠겨 있는 해저돌출물 주위의 유동을 계산하여 그 응용성을 검토하였다. 돌출물 후방의 복잡한 와동들의 상호간섭이 잘 시뮬레이션 되었다.시뮬레이션 되었다.

  • In this paper, a new half-bridge zeta converter employing a center-tapped rectifier is proposed. The proposed converter provides a bidirectional powering path in the rectifier. As a result, its improved rectifier voltage waveform reduces the output filter inductor size. Also, it maintains a wide ZVS range due to the characteristic of the conventional single-ended half-bridge zeta converter. The operational principles, the theoretical analysis, and the design considerations of the proposed converter are analyzed. To verify the performance of the proposed converter, experimental results from a 180W prototype are presented.

  • Piezoelectric materials have been investigated as vibration energy converters to power wireless devices or MEMS devices due to the recent low power requirements of such devices and the advancement in miniaturization technology. Piezoelectric power generation can be an alternative to the traditional power source-battery because of the presence of facile vibration sources in our environment and the potential elimination of the maintenance required for large volume batteries. This paper represents the new power source which supplies energy device node. This system, called "energy harvesting system", with piezo materials scavenges extra energy such as vibration and acceleration from the environment. Then it converts the mechanical energy scavenged to electrical energy for powering device This paper explains the properties of piezo material through theoretical analysis and experiments The developed system provides a solution to overcome the critical problem of making up wireless device networks.

  • In this paper, a unified regenerative inverter and control algorithm are proposed in order to perform regenerative action and active power filter action. While the regenerative mode of traction, it works as regenerative inverter to reduce a excessive power of DC bus line and the powering mode of the traction, it works as active power filter to compensate ac current distortion, power factor, and voltage unbalance. In the paper, a regeneration inverter used PWM DC/AC inverter algorithm. And an active power filter used p-q theory. We are carrying out a mode analysis of DC traction system similar to actual system with MG-set and experimenting with prototype model. Through the simulation and experiment, we were proving the regeneration inverter operation which suggested in this paper.

  • 일반주거지역의 FTTC 구축을 위해 ONU의 설치를 위한 옥외형 캐비넷이 요구되며, 이에 따른 설치공간 확보와 효율적인 전원공급 문제가 주요 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 수용 가입자 수가 대략 30회선 정도이며 전주나 벽면에 설치되는 PON 방식의 소형 ONU를 위한 전원공급 해결안으로 공유급전방안과 개발된 각각의 구성요소(광동복합케이블, 전원시스템, 파워노드 캐비넷, 파워노드 감시시스템)에 대해 서술하였다.

  • A new output inductor less phase shift full bridge converter with current reduction technique for server power application is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter can reduce the current stress by using the auxiliary circuit. Since the auxiliary circuit causes the additional resonance between the leakage inductor and auxiliary capacitor before the powering period, the proposed converter has lower current stress even no output filter inductor. Small size and circulating energy can be also the merits of the proposed converter. The operational principles and analysis are presented. Experimental results demonstrate that the current stress can be reduced effectively by using the auxiliary circuit without large output filter inductor.

  • We present Palomar/SWIFT integral field spectroscopy of z~0.2 strong $H{\alpha}$ emitters identified in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The large Halpha equivalent widths as well as the huge specific star formation rates of these galaxies are comparable with that of z>4 Lyman break galaxies, thus understanding the gas kinematics and the distribution of massive stars in these systems will help to obtain a better understanding of high-redshift star forming environments and the growth of massive galaxies. We measure the velocity dispersion across the entire galaxy, estimate the number density and the spatial distribution of massive stars from the emission line morphologies. The role of minor mergers in powering star formation is investigated as an alternative to cold flow driven star formation.

  • We have been noticing the unstable phenomena of measured data which may give a bad influence on the prediction of powering performance characteristics. In this paper, ununiformity of water temperature according to the water depth in towing tank, variation of water temperature between summer and winter, effect of turbulence stimulator and double line phenomena in the resistance test are investigated. And circulating the tank water, heating the towing tank, degassing the tank water and improving the turbulence stimulator are proposed as it's solutions.

  • In this study, the self-propulsion tests are performed in INHA towing tank. And the effective wake characteristics of the KVLCC2 and the KCS models are compared by the experimental results. The form factor is independent of Reynolds number. To estimate the hydrodynamic performance of a full scale ship, the form factor is determined to consider attendant on Reynolds number. In this research, the power predictions are carried out considering the form factor difference of model and full scale ship. The results of this research could be used as one of the fundamental data to the powering performance prediction.

Ionized gas outflows in z~2 WISE-selected Hot Dust Obscured Galaxies

  • The Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) mission has been efficient in selecting Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) with high luminosities and large obscuration. According to the merger driven AGN powering scenarios, luminous and obscured AGN are in a stage where they go through feeding of gas accretion into the central black hole, and feedback to the host galaxy through outflows. We report the rest-frame UV-optical spectra of 11 Hot Dust Obscured Galaxies (Hot DOGs) at z~2, WISE color-selected to be extremely reddened AGN. A fraction of the targets show blueshifted and broadened [OIII] profiles indicative of ionized gas outflows. We present the occurrence and strength of the outflows, and discuss what impact these AGN activity could give on their hosts.
