  • This paper proposes the power management technology for stand-alone PV system to extend installation environment and coverage. The proposed power management technology in this paper can protect battery safeness from overcharge/discharge with keeping the proper SOC(State of Charge) and extend using time of system through estimation of operating power. The proposed power management technology in this paper is applied to Infra-free Variable Message Sign. And performance of power management technology in this paper was verified using simulation scenario.

경제성 평가를 이용한 프리쿨링시스템의 국내 적용성 연구 (A Study on Application of the Free Cooling System with Dry Cooler Using Economic Evaluation)

  • Recently, because of the deterioration of the nuclear generating station and increase of the cooler and heater, energy problem is increasing. To save the energy, the free cooling system is developed. The free cooling system is that cool the water to use cooled air in winter and is used in industrial process or data center. Yoon check the energy of free cooling system with dry cooler in korea. In this study, the value of the free cooling system with dry cooler is confirmed through using the NPV that is economic evaluation. when temperature degree of the cooled water is 10, in Chuncheon and Seoul the value is the most high. When temperature degree of the cooled water is 20, in Ulsan the value is the most high. As the result, because the using the temperature degree of the cooled water is high in the industrial process, the free cooling system is advantageous in korea.

  • $Zn_{1-x}Ag_xSb$에서 Ag의 함량이 0~0.2인 열전화합물을 진공용해법으로 제조하여 결정상과 열전물성을 조사하였다. x = 0.05에서는 금속성 free Sb 상이 많이 생성되었고 이로 인해 전기전도도와 power factor가 크게 증가하였고 power factor는 제벡계수보다는 전기전도도에 의해 더 큰 영향을 받았다. x = 0.1 이상에서는 $Ag_3Sb$ 상이 현저하게 늘어났고 free Sb 피크는 약화되었다. 이에 따라 전기전도도와 power factor는 감소하기 시작하였고 이러한 경향은 더 많은 Ag가 첨가되면서 더욱 뚜렷하게 나타났다.

  • In the current age of the information oriented society in which we live, many people use PCs and are dependant on the databases provided by the network server. However, online data can be missed during the occurrence of a blackout and furthermore, power failure can greatly effect Power Quality. This has resulted in the trend of using interruption-free live-line work when trouble occurs in a power system. However, 83% of the population receives an electric shock experience when a laborer is performing interruption-free live-line work. In the interruption-free method, education and training problems have been pinpointed. However, there are few instructors to implement the necessary training. Furthermore, the trainees undergo only a short training period of just 4 weeks. In this paper, to develop a method with no restrictions on time and place and to ensure a reduction in the misuse of materials, immersion type virtual reality (or environment) technology is used. The users of a 3D immersion type VR training system can interact with the system by performing the equivalent action in a safe environment. Thus, it can be valuable to apply this training system to such dangerous work as 'Interruption-free live-line work exchanging COS (Cut-Out-Switch)'. In this program, the user carries out work according to instructions displayed through the window and speaker and cannot perform other tasks until each part of the task is completed in the proper sequence. The workers using this system can utilize their hands and viewpoint movement since they are in a real environment but the trainee cannot use all parts and senses of a real body with the current VR technology. Despite these weak points, when we consider the trends of improvement in electrical devices and communication technology, we can say that 3D graphic VR application has high potentiality.

  • The resonant inverter is widely used for induction heating, electronic ballast and supersonic motor driving circuit. In the meantime, control techniques of PWM, PFM etc.. are mainly applied to control the output power of the resonant inverter. But, in the case of using the half bridge resonant inverter, it is difficult to control the output power by PWM, because its main circuit does not provide the load free-wheeling mode. Therefore, PAM or PFM was usually applied to control output power of half bridge resonant inverter. However, PAM needs a variable DC voltage source, which makes the system structure more complex. On the other hand, in case of PFM, efficiency is declined by operation with poor power factor. This paper Proposed the novel half bridge resonant inverter which can provide the load free-wheeling mode. Also its analysis results for PWM operation with unity fundamental power factor are Presented and compared with other resonant inverters using PWM and PFM.

Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) 표면개질을 위한 RF 대기압 플라즈마 처리공정의 최적화 (The Optimization of RF Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Treatment Process for Improving the Surface Free Energy of Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA))

  • 본 연구에서는 대기압 플라스마 공정으로 표면 처리 시 PMMA 시편의 표면 자유 에너지에 영향을 주는 인자인 radio frequency (RF) 플라즈마 전압(W), 처리시간(s), 방전 글로우와 시료와의 간격(mm) 그리고 아르곤 가스의 유량(LPM)에 대해 실험 계획법(Design of Experiment, DOE)을 적용한 최적화 실험을 실시하였다. 실험 결과, PMMA의 표면 자유 에너지 증가에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 인자는 플라즈마 방전 글로우와 시료와의 간격(mm), 처리시간(t), 플라즈마 전압(W) 순으로 확인되었다. 또한 표면에 상호 영향을 미치는 플라즈마 전압과 처리시간에 대한 복합매개변수 형태의 power dose (J)에 따른 의존성을 확인했을 때 1500 J에서 최대의 표면 에너지 증가를 보임을 확인하였다. XPS, AFM 분석을 통해 플라즈마 처리 후 PMMA 표면에 새로운 관능기의 도입과 표면 거칠기 변화를 관찰하였다. 플라즈마 처리에 의한 PMMA plate의 표면 자유 에너지의 변화는 플라즈마 처리에 의한 관능기의 도입과 표면적의 변화에 영향을 받는 것으로 생각된다.

Integrated Bidirectional Three-Port DC-DC Converter with Ripple-Free Input Current and Soft Switching

  • Multiport power converters have recently become popular to researchers and engineers. However, more improvements are required in terms of their soft-switching operation, bidirectional operation, and integration. In this study, a bidirectional three-port three-switch DC-DC converter is proposed. The converter contains a low-current ripple port and ripple-free current port. Through the integrated structure, utilization of a coupled inductor, and a new switching strategy, the aforementioned specifications are achieved. A modified switching strategy is also utilized in the converter, which has resulted in the bidirectional operation of the converter between ports. Finally, a comprehensive analysis is presented, and the converter characteristics are validated by experimental results.

Steady-State and Transient Performance Simulation of a Turboshaft Engine with a Free Power Turbine

  • A program of steady-state and transient performance analysis for a 200kW-class small turboshaft engine with free power turbine was developed. An existing turbojet engine was used for the gas generator of the developed turboshaft engine, which was modified to satisfy performance requirements of this turboshaft engine. To verify the accuracy of steady-state performance program for this engine: the program was applied to the gas turbine test unit of the same type, and the analysis results were compared with experimental results. The developed transient performance analysis program using the CMF (Constant Mass Flow) method was utilized to analyze the cases of step increase and ramp increase of the fuel.

월성원전 구조물의 지진응답 특성 분석 (Analysis of Seismic Response Characteristics for Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Structures)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic response characteristics of Wolsong nuclear power plant (NPP) structures for the Kyeongju earthquake(ML=4.3) occurred on June 26, 1997. The seismograms are obtained from five accelerographs of nuclear power plant at Wolsong, Kyeongbuk. The distance from the epicenter is about 25km. The peak acceleration (PA) due to the earthquake is 0.0235g, which is far lower value than that of design basis earthquake(DBE). The PA at the containment wall is about twice as large as that at free field. Also, the higher the accelerograph is located in, the larger the PA is measured to be From the response spectrum analysis, the dominant frequency of the response is close to 4 Hz, which is similar to the free field is poor because of contamination by high frequency waves as a result of reflection and diffraction between ground and NPP structure. We are of opinion that the accelerograph at the free field should be moved approximately twice the building dimension away from the containment structure.

  • An improved control method in turbine control system is proposed. By automatic follow-up design, power system frequency may be maintained within prespecified range. Base or half load control is possible by distributing power plant load allotment. Otherwise, diminutive frequency-load control is dine by governor-free operation in power plant. This paper proposes governor-free operation which is automatically followed by load-limitter setter. The condition which limits governor action may be somewhat improved within boiler condition by this idea. This design has been implemented at Samchunpo thermal power plant. The improved practical results are shown.
