Analysis of Harmonic Frequency for Return Current on the Track Circuit in Electrical Railway System (전기철도시스템에서 궤도회로 측면의 귀선전류 고조파 분석)

  • Electric power used in electrical vehicles flows into the substation through the feedback circuit, track circuit. Due to these power conversion equipments in electrical railroads, return current contains harmonics, and it should not affect other communication lines. In this paper, based on the return currents, we measured harmonics and analyzed an influence in railway equipments due to the harmonics. For analysis, we utilize the measured values of return currents measured in track circuits, and predictive values of those compared to the earth methods between the existing electrified sections. Applying the regulations used for Gyeongbu HSL(High Speed Line), the results of measured harmonics have found to be acceptable.

  • Test track of the Advanced EMU system will be developed and organically combined with technologies of power supply system, signal communication system and track structure. The purpose of the test track is a acquirement of reliability and stability through a sufficient performance test.   • The terms of track is a train-only line for a train service, in premises of station of a station, that the unit over the track for turnout the track from one track to another track, which it changes the course from the main track that is used for operating a train to the side track, is called a turnout The stick strength of tongue rail is adjusting uniform pressure on the both sides, the adhesion strength between a basic rail and tongue rail has to maintain over 100kg of power value to open over 1mm the ends. This study suggested developing a measuring instrument that can measure a basic rail and the stick strength of a movable rail in according with a switch, such as a switch point, and a performance test. This study ties to be helped that it improves measuring usability for the maintainers through improving quality in a stick measuring instrument, that it solves a technique in the site difficulties through improving a measuring instrument, with reducing the obstacles and expenses.

  • As for track maintenance, Seoul Metro executes track bed improvement project from obsolete ballast track bed to concrete track bed in order to achieve maintenance free and to extend its LCC(Life Cycle Costing). When it comes to obsolete ballast track bed withdrawal task, now it is done solely relying on man power and ballast inhalation vehicle. In this paper, I suggested ballast cleaning system with lighter equipment to change manpower withdrawal tasks to mechanized ones. It is expected to improve work efficiency and economic benefits by applying track excavator having variable wheels and container etc, which is able to keep on the site.

  • This paper presents an improved maximum power point tracking method that can fast track the global maximum power point (GMPP) for a photovoltaic system under partial shading conditions. The proposed method combines the advantages of the maximum power trapezium (MPT) method and the search-skip-judge method to minimize the tracking voltage intervals. Thus, the proposed method can quickly track the GMPP by skipping unnecessary tracking voltage intervals. The superiority of the proposed method is verified through simulation results in the MATLAB/Simulink and experimental real-time operation results with the hardware-in-the-loop simulation. The simulation and experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method has a faster tracking time than the MPT method under various partial shading conditions.

  • In this study, we numerically estimated available and unavailable time of conventional railway by examining 60% which is known as average range of track utilization efficiency. We also estimated track repair time for maintenance which is the main factor of making track utilization change and analyzed appropriate estimated time. The railway's safety should be guaranteed by appropriate railway operating plan and by adequate rail facilities maintenance. At the same time, daily railway train 'Dia's recovery power should be reflected to the management plan. Considering these factors, we examined mechanical equipment and the national rail network in order to rationally estimate track repair time of the maintenance and to secure spare time in case of train delays. It was found that track utilization efficiency was more or less 60%.

A Study on the Method of preventing from Reduction of AF Track Circuit Signal Current on a Ferroconcrete Roadbed (철근콘크리트 도상에서 AF 궤도회로 신호전류 저감방지대책에 관한 연구)

  • Until now, the track circuit with railroad which is a part of an electrical circuit wad used only for the detection of the train location, but as train speed is up to be higher, in order to overcome the limits of ground signal system the railway signal system has changed from the ground signal system to a cab signal system. The power source of the track circuit has also changed from a direct current or a high voltage impulse to an alternating current with high frequency which is a part of the audio frequency. To improve the maintenanability and according to the environment condition, the railway roadbed is rapidly changed to the ferroconcrete roadbed. In case of a track circuit to use an alternating current with high frequency as power source at a ferroconcrete roadbed, the characteristic of the track circuit is brought on a change from a loss of the magnetic combination instead of a leakage current from electric insulation which was caused by the reinforcing iron pod with lattice shape for durability. This paper is shown the influence and the loss of the signal current at AF track circuit on a ferroconcrete in the simulation sheets and presented a proposal for the preventive method from reduction of signal current.

Highspeed Train : Sound Power and Noise Propagation Characteristics (고속철도의 소음 특성과 전파현상)

  • For a rail traffic noise, a typical source has a length of 200m - 400m so that the noise pollution areas have been located in the transition regions where the sound level drops between 3dB/dd and 6dB/dd. Therefore, in this region, parameters such as a horizontal distance from the track, the geometry of the ground surface, the environmental effect, and the boundary impedance condition play import roles, especially in our nation's situation. In this study, modelling techniques for the finite length of noise source have been investigated in order to evaluate the rail traffic noise level. Then. noise correction value .${\Delta}$SPL for various location in the track region is represented by the non-dimensionalized horizontal and parallel distance from the track. As an application, a high speed train is examined. Beas on the noise data measured for a Eurostar in France, the sound power value per unit length $H_1$is calcuated. It turns out that$H_1$is 109 dB. Overall sound power from the highspeed train to be serviced in our country is expected to 135 dBA.

  • Main characteristic in railroad is the guided movement of the wheel by the track through a metal-to-metal contact, conferring to the rail vehicle a single degree of freedom. There are defects such as head check, shelling, corrugation, squats etc in surface of the rail by interface between the wheel and rail. These defects bring about reducing the life-cycle of rails and track components and increasing noises. In case of bad conditions, it is possible to happen to full-scale accident such as derailment. Recently, the track capacity has been increased for increasing speed and operation efficiency. So, maintenance and indirect cost have been increased. Currently, a coating method of rail construction is proposed by using the ceramics in Korea. Rails are used as the earth in electrical railroad systems. Currently traction return current is flowed through wheels of trains. In case of rails coated, problems are caused in the contact power between wheel and coating material of spray. In this paper, electric model is presented in the AT feeding method. In case of rails coated, electric model is presented. Also, standard resistance of the ceramic is demonstrated by contact power between wheel and coating material of spray.

  • Urban transit is one of the most effective ways for efficient operation and construction of an urban transit by composition system which is liked originally such as rolling-stock, power, signal and infrastructure. Urban rail transit system is running in domestic, imports major equipments from advanced countries and setup for maintenance. But it takes long time because it does each organizations and lines. Also, signal, power and track system apply different standard by each construction organizations it causes an increasing construction of cost accordingly it desperately needs a systematic countermeasure. Therefore standard specification of urban transit have been establishing and operatingfor efficient operation of urban transit and base technology security that is populace ride to become a base of state economy. After track, power and signal system will be announced. Standard specification become more, the importance of administrationof standards is emphasized more. Specification administrator’s the importance which use a computing support tool recently in railroad part in embossed and is predicted to be more such forward. Therefore we propose the effective method of management with track, power signal system by constructed data-base system.
