As digital systems were introduced to automotive design in the mid 1980s, the design process has adopted many digital programs to save time compared to the conventional hand drafting. Digital technology was introduced not only to satisfy the reeds of the global environment, as the number of automobiles exported to many different parts of the world has increased, but also to save time and effort in developing several models of quality automobiles. Therefore, every automotive manufacturer in the world has expanded its virtual reality(VR) studio to establish visualization systems that visualize automobiles in the actual size and a co-operation system that enables simultaneous feedback from all of its design studios around the world. Unlike the existing design reviewing methos, the new improved feedback system is assessed as a reasonable method to evaluates and understand how the automobiles are actually manufactured in simulation. It is especially helpful when advanced products and concept cars require fast results. Other strengths of the new system include shorter development period, cost efficiency, no more manual labor, various designs within a short period of time, and realistic visualization of concepts. Large-scale products, including automobiles, need to be projected in the actual size and high clarity through the Power-wall System and are examined in a virtual space called a Cave. Therefore, it took much time to establish digital infrastructure. An infrastructure would constantly require system improvement and performance enhancement, but it is certain that now is the right time for the take-off to utilizing the strengths of digital design and improve the weaknesses. In this respect, this study provided an understanding of the importance of digital design based on digital reinforcements and examined an effective utilization of digital technology for an efficient development of automobiles in the future.

Korean private colleges under the period of Japanese control was the kernel for the educational resistance, one of the save-the-nation movements because of inculcating in Koreans the spirit of independence and self-respect under that period. Posung College Library building, erected in Commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Foundation, especially, was the result of Koreans systematizing ability and iron will of independence for the future generations. In this paper, an attempt to study the Korean private college libraries under the period of Japanese control is provided. The main institutions in this study are Posung College library, Chosen Christian College library (Yunhee College Library), and Ewha College Library. This study will focus to review the followings: 1. The historical background of above mentioned libraries. 2. The educational resistance under that period. 3. The comparative and analytical study of these private college libraries and Keijo Imperial University library. 4. The facilities and the basic collection development plan on the basis of presentation. 5. library services including readers services. 6. The impact of these libraries on the present private university libraries. 7. The organization and staffing pattern, and budget of these private college libraries. The followings are the outlines conclusions: 1. Korean private college libraries had been established in order to perform the educational resistance. They are one of the supporting agencies for the research activities, among the most important means of social education, and provide, no doubt, the full nutriment for hungry soul under that period. 2. These libraries have not outstripped Keijo Imperial University in collection of books as well as man power, but their collection of books coincided, in general, with their curricula, and had feature to perform the save-the-nation-movement by education. 3. The library services were appeared in the forms such as the Circulation Library, Lectures on the Use of Books and Libraries, Library Week, and Training Course for the Librarians, etc. It is thought that these activities contributed to the social and cultural development of Korea indirectly. 4. The library administration of the private colleges depended upon the director of library because of the frequent changes of staffs and the simple functional system without its middle class. 5. The Japanese Government-General in Korea gave no financial assistance to the private colleges though they were in financial difficulties more than Keijo Imperial University. 6. The ambitious ideal for foundation of universities in reality as well as in name was not achieved during that period because of the monstrous obstacle so-called the Japanese Government-General in Korea, but its ideal had a desirable effect upon these college libraries development, in particular, before and after 1935.

A high speed multiplier is essential basic building block for digital signal processors today. Typically iterative algorithms in Signal processing applications are realized which need a large number of multiply, add and accumulate operations. This paper describes a macro block of a parallel structured multiplier which has adopted a 32$\times$32-b regularly structured tree (RST). To improve the speed of the tree part, modified partial product generation method has been devised at architecture level. This reduces the 4 levels of compression stage to 3 levels, and propagation delay in Wallace tree structure by utilizing 4-2 compressor as well. Furthermore, this enables tree part to be combined with four modular block to construct a CSA tree (carry save adder tree). Therefore, combined with four modular block to construct a CSA tree (carry save adder tree). Therefore, multiplier architecture can be regularly laid out with same modules composed of Booth selectors, compressors and Modified Partial Product Generators (MPPG). At the circuit level new Booth selector with less transistors and encoder are proposed. The reduction in the number of transistors in Booth selector has a greater impact on the total transistor count. The transistor count of designed selector is 9 using PTL(Pass Transistor Logic). This reduces the transistor count by 50% as compared with that of the conventional one. The designed multiplier in 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ technology, 2.5V, 1-poly and 5-metal CMOS process is simulated by Hspice and Epic. Delay is 4.2㎱ and average power consumes 1.81㎽/MHz. This result is far better than conventional multiplier with equal or better than the best one published.

In wireless sensor networks with ad hoc networking capability, sensor nodes are battery operated and are usually disposable once deployed. As a result, each sensor node senses and communicates with limited energy and, thus, energy efficiency has been studied as a key design factor which determines lifetime of a wireless sensor network, and it is more improved recently by using so-called cross-layer optimization technique. In this paper, we propose and implement a new energy saving mechanism that reduces energy consumption during data collection by controlling transmission power at sensor nodes and then measure its performance in terms of lifetime improvement for the wireless sensor network platform ZigbeX. When every sensor node transmits sensed data to its clusterhead, it controls its transmission power down to as low level as communication is possible, resulting in energy saving. Each sensor node controls its transmission power based on RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) of the packet received from its clusterhead. In other words, the sensor node can save energy by controlling its transmission power down to an appropriate level that its clusterhead safely receives the packet it transmits. According to the repetitive experiment of the proposed scheme on the ZigbeX platform using the packet analyzer developed by us, it is observed that the network lifetime is prolonged by up to 21.9% by saying energy during the data collection occupying most amount of network traffic.

Recently, many studies have been attempted to save the cost of production and to build the ocean energy power generating system. The low-reflection structure with the wall-typed curtain which has a wave power generation system of OWC is known as the most effective energy conversion system. A three-dimensional numerical model was used to understand the characteristics of velocity of flows about compressed air and to estimate the pressure acting on the low-reflection structure due to the short-period waves. The three-dimensional numerical wave flume which is the model for the immiscible two-phase flow was applied in interpretation for this. The numerical simulation showed well about the changes in velocity of compressed air and the characteristics of pressure according to the change in the wave height and depth of the curtain wall. Additionally, the results found that there was the point of the maximum velocity of the compressed air when the reflection coefficient is at its lowest point.

Currently, there is a drain of natural resources, environmental contamination, generation of waste, and problems of the earth's climate by CO2 emissions according to mass production and overconsumption of mankind. It is effectuated by a linear economy that involves manufacturing products, use, and waste repeatedly; there is no guarantee in the lives of humans and the future of the globe if we do not find alternative proposals. For a sustainable developing society and to overcome the present global problems, we must successively change to a circular economy from a linear economy. The circular economy has the concept of an extended value chain in recovery, reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling, instead of discarding after the use of manufactured goods. New business models of circular economy have been realized to save the earth ecology and sustainable developing society in serious recognition of the linear economy system. New business models are established by creating a vision and developing a program, and by renovating technology, law, and financial support through a worldwide government policy.
A river water level monitoring system which prevents salt water damages and effectively excludes floods has been developed to contribute efficient operation of Nakdong river estuary barrage. The system can be used for monitoring upstream conditions more quickly and do appropriate responses over changes. Telemetry and telecontrols using PLCs have been built at the three sites that directly influence on the operation of barrage gates, and are linked to Nakdong river estuary barrage's IOS (Integrated Operation System) through public communication networks. By using PLC, the system can achieve even higher reliability and versatility than before as well as easy management. By power control devices, we can remotely control the power of PLCs to treat the minor troubles instantly without going on-sites. The power control devices also save data in preparation for the cases of communication failures. The system uses ADSL (FTTH) as a main network between SCADA server and PLCs, and CDMA (M2M) as a secondary network. In order to compensate security vulnerabilities of public communication network, we have installed the VPNs for secure communication between center and the observation stations, just like a dedicated network. Generally, river water level observations have been used custom-manufactured remote terminals to suit their special goals. However, in this case, we have established a system with open architecture considering the interface between different systems, the ease of use and maintenance, security, price, etc.
The fission gas release model used In the SPEAR-BETA fuel performance code was modified by use of effective thermal conductivity for cracked fuel and by laking Into account axial fission-gas mixing between the fuel-clad gap and the plenum. With use of this modified model the fission gas release was analyzed under various power ramping conditions of P$_{max}$ and $\Delta$.fP. Effective fuel thermal conductivity that accounts for the effect of fuel tracking was used in calculation of the fuel temperature distribution and the Internal gas pressure under power ramping conditions. Mixing and dilution effects due to axial gas flow were also considered in computing the width and the thermal conductivity of the gap. The effect of axial gas flow w3s solved by the Crank-Nicholson method. The finite difference method was used to save running time in the calculation. The present modified fission-gas release model was validated by comparing its predicted results with experimental data from various lamping tests In the literature and calculated results with use of the models used In the SPEAR-BETA and FEMAXI-IV codes. Results obtained with use of the present modified model showed better agreement with experimental data reported in the literature than those results with use of the latter codes. The fuel centerline temperature calculated with introduction of effective thermal conductivity for centerline temperature calculated with Introduction of effective thermal conductivity for cracked fuel was 200 higher fission gas release predicted with use of the modified model was nearly 6% larger on the average than that calculated by use of the unmodified model used in the SPEAR-BETA code.e SPEAR-BETA code.e.

Weld overlay was first used in power plants in the US in the early 1980s as an interim method of repairing the welds of flawed piping joints. Weld overlaid piping joints in nuclear power plants must be examined periodically using ultrasonic examination technology. Portable phased array ultrasonic technology has recently become available. Currently, the application of preemptive weld overlays as a mitigation technique and/as a method to improve the examination surface condition for more complex configurations is becoming more common. These complex geometries may require several focused conventional transducers for adequate inspection of the overlay, the original weld, and the base material. Alternatively, Phased array ultrasonic probes can be used to generate several inspection angles simultaneously at various focal depths to provide better and faster coverage than that possible by conventional methods. Thus, this technology can increase the speed of examinations, save costs, and reduce radiation exposure. In this paper, we explain the general sequence of the inspection of weld overlay and the results of signal analysis for some PAUT (phased array ultrasonic testing) signals detected in on-site inspections.

Flywheel energy storage system (FESS) is defined as a high speed rotating flywheel system that can save surplus electric power. The FESS is proposed as an efficient energy storage system because it can accumulate a large amount of energy when it is operated at a high rotating speed and no mechanical problems are encountered. The FESS consists of a shaft, flywheel, motor/generator, bearings, and case. It is difficult to simulate rotor dynamics using common structure simulation programs because these programs are based on the 3D model and complex input rotating conditions. Therefore, in this paper, a program for the FESS based on the 2D FEM was developed. The 2D FEM can model easier than 3D, and it can present the multi-layer rotor with different material each other. Stiffness changing of the shaft caused by shrink fitting of the hub can be inputted to get clear solving results. The results obtained using the program were compared with those obtained using the common programs to determine any errors.
