Differencing Multiuser Detection Using Error Feedback Filter for MIMO DS-UWB System in Nakagami Fading Channel

  • A differencing multiuser detection (MUD) method is proposed for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) direct sequence (DS) ultra-wideband (UWB) system to cope with the multiple access interference (MAI) and the computational efficiency in Nakagami fading channel. The method, which combines a multiuser-interference-cancellation-based decision feedback equalizer using error feedback filter (MIC DFE-EFF), a coefficient optimization algorithm (COA) and a differencing algorithm (DA), is termed as MIC DFE-EFF (COA) with DA for short. In the paper, the proposed MUD method is illuminated from the rudimental MIC DFE-EFF to the advanced MIC DFE-EFF (COA) with DA step by step. Firstly, the MIC DFE-EFF system performance is analyzed by minimum mean square error criterion. Secondly, the COA is investigated for optimization of each filter coefficient. Finally, the DA is introduced to reduce the computational complexity while sacrificing little performance. Simulations show a significant performance gain can be achieved by using the MIC DFE-EFF (COA) with DA detector. The proposed MIC DFE-EFF (COA) with DA improves both bit error rate performance and computational efficiency relative to DFE, DFE-EFF, parallel interference cancellation (PIC), MIC DFE-EFF and MIC DFE-EFF with DA, though it sacrifices little system performance, compared with MIC DFE-EFF (COA) without DA.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중사용자 하향링크 직교 주파수 분할 다중 접속 방식 (OFDMA)에서 궤환 비트량을 줄일 수 있고 제한된 송신전력 하에서 시스템의 전송률을 높일 수 있는 사용자 선택 방식, 대역 할당 방식 그리고 전력할당 방식에 관한 연구를 하였다. 기존에 제안된 방법은 단일 셀 내의 사용자가 모든 부대역의 채널 상태 정보(CQI, channel quality information)를 기지국으로 전송하였으나, 이러한 방식은 심각한 궤환 정보의 오버헤드가 발생한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 궤환 정보량을 줄이기 위하여 각 사용자가 일부 대역의 채널 상태 정보와 부가 채널정보를 기지국으로 궤환하여 효율적인 대역할당을 하며, 할당된 대역에 따라 효과적인 전력 할당과 변조 및 부호화 방식을 결정하는 시스템을 제안하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 전체 시스템에서의 궤환 정보량은 크게 줄이면서 시스템의 전송률 측면에서 조금의 성능열화만 발생하는 것을 확인하였다.

Active Frequency with a Positive Feedback Anti-Islanding Method Based on a Robust PLL Algorithm for Grid-Connected PV PCS

  • This paper proposes an active frequency with a positive feedback in the d-q frame anti-islanding method suitable for a robust phase-locked loop (PLL) algorithm using the FFT concept. In general, PLL algorithms for grid-connected PV PCS use d-q transformation and controllers to make zero an imaginary part of the transformed voltage vector. In a real grid system, the grid voltage is not ideal. It may be unbalanced, noisy and have many harmonics. For these reasons, the d-q transformed components do not have a pure DC component. The controller tuning of a PLL algorithm is difficult. The proposed PLL algorithm using the FFT concept can use the strong noise cancelation characteristics of a FFT algorithm without a PI controller. Therefore, the proposed PLL algorithm has no gain-tuning of a PI controller, and it is hardly influenced by voltage drops, phase step changes and harmonics. Islanding prediction is a necessary feature of inverter-based photovoltaic (PV) systems in order to meet the stringent standard requirements for interconnection with an electrical grid. Both passive and active anti-islanding methods exist. Typically, active methods modify a given parameter, which also affects the shape and quality of the grid injected current. In this paper, the active anti-islanding algorithm for a grid-connected PV PCS uses positive feedback control in the d-q frame. The proposed PLL and anti-islanding algorithm are implemented for a 250kW PV PCS. This system has four DC/DC converters each with a 25kW power rating. This is only one-third of the total system power. The experimental results show that the proposed PLL, anti-islanding method and topology demonstrate good performance in a 250kW PV PCS.

  • Differential channel 정보를 feedback 하는 close loop Tx diversity를 제안한다. 본 Tx diversity는 기존의 channel feedback Tx diversity 보다 W-CDMA의 forward link와 reverse link channel 용량을 더 많이 늘린다. Differential channel 정보를 estimation 하는 방법을 제안한다. 부가적으로 보내는 정보 없이 W-CDMA의 forward power control 에 사용하는 dedicated pilot 심볼을 이용해 differential channel 정보를 estimation한다. 기존에 제안된 channel feedback Tx diversity들과 성능을 비교한다.

  • This paper deals with the control algorithm of series voltage compensator that is used to maintain the load voltage when the supply voltage deviates from its nominal voltage. The two reference frame-based controllers using the state feedback algorithm are proposed and verified in the simulation and the experiment The simulation and the experiment show the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

  • The ignition timing feedback control system was studied to enhance the engine power and to reduce the fuel consumption by optimizing the spark timing. The signal of a piezo-electric vibration transducer attached to the engine block was compared with that of a pressure transducer in order to determine the knock intensity. With the result of comparison the ignition timing feedback control system which detect the knock and correct the spark timing was set up. The ignition could be more advaced with this control system than the existing system without the continuous knocking, therefore the engine torque was increased.

밀리미터파 초소형 광대역 MMIC 증폭기 설계에 관한 연구 (Design of mulimeter-wave ultra-compact broadband MMIC amplifiers)

  • An ultra-compact milimeter-wave broadband MMIC amplifier was designed using a direct-coupled topology combined with optimum feedback design. Significant reductionin the chip size was possible by employing the direct-coupled topology. Bias resistors required for the direct-coupled topology were also used as feedback elements. Feedback was optimized for millimeter-wave frequencies using reactive elements. The fabricated MMIC amplifier was realized in a chip size of 0.8mm$^{[-992]}$ and showed gains higher than 8 dB from 12 to 44 GHz. An output power of 30mW was achieved at 44 GHz with a drain efficiency of 10%.

정상성인의 팔굽 굽힘 시 자기통제 피드백이 고유수용성감각에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Self-controlled Feedback on Proprioception in Elbow Flexion of Healthy Subjects)

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of self-controlled feedback on proprioception in elbow flexion. METHODS: Thirty young adult volunteered to participate and were randomly assigned to one of three groups (self-controlled, yoked, control). Power and velocity in elbow flexion was measured by PRIMUS RS (BTE Tech., Hanover, U.S.A). Statistical analysis was used multivariate ANOVA to know effect of self-controlled feedback on proprioception in elbow flexion. Post hoc was used Scheffe. RESULTS: In acquisition phase to practice effect, variable errors in self-controlled group was significantly low scored more than yoked and control group. In retention phase to learning effect, variable errors in self-controlled group was significantly low scored more than yoked and control group. CONCLUSION: Self-controlled feedback was more effective on movement control when the learner could make a decision about receiving feedback after the trial. This seems to support the view that self-controlled feedback benefits learning, because learners can make a decision about feedback based on their performance on a given trial.

VSC 유압유닛의 압력 추정기 및 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimator and Controller Design of VSC Hydraulic Unit)

  • This paper presents modeling and ostimator/controller design for the hydraulic system in Vehicle Stability Control(VSC) system. A nonlinear mathematical model of the VSC hydraulic system is proposed and its accuracy is experimentally verified. A brake pressure estimator is then designed based on the derived mathematical model of VSC hydraulic system. And a disturbance observer, which compensates the estimation error between the brake pressure and the computed brake pressure is also designed to enhance the accuracy of the estimator. The proposed controller has the form of a feedback controller and determines explicitly the on/off ratio of valves' driving PWM signals by means of making use of the simplified mathematical model in the VSC hydraulic system. The performance of the designed controller whose feedback signal is generated by the brake pressure estimator is validated through experimental results.

A 90-nm CMOS 144 GHz Injection Locked Frequency Divider with Inductive Feedback

  • This paper presents a 144 GHz divide-by-2 injection locked frequency divider (ILFD) with inductive feedback developed in a commercial 90-nm Si RFCMOS technology. It was demonstrated that division-by-2 operation is achieved with input power down to -12 dBm, with measured locking range of 0.96 GHz (144.18 - 145.14 GHz) at input power of -3 dBm. To the authors' best knowledge, this is the highest operation frequency for ILFD based on a 90-nm CMOS technology. From supply voltage of 1.8 V, the circuit draws 5.7 mA including both core and buffer. The fabricated chip occupies 0.54 mm ${\times}$ 0.69 mm including the DC and RF pads.
