The purpose of this study was to develop prevention and educational programs for battered women. The first stage was to assess battered women's health status and health needs. The second stage was to develop prevention and educational programs to improve battered women's health. A survey research design was used to gather data from June-November 1999 by the counselor. Research sample was recruited from shelter and women's counseling centers in Seoul, Inchon, Chooncheon, Taejeon, and Jeoju. Trained counselors contacted 218 women, who agreed verbally to participate in the study. The researcher did a literature review and developed the tool used. We did ten pretests and three counselors checked the tool for content validity. The reliability and validity of the instrument were acceptable. The second stage of the research consisted of lay-professional groups discussing the abuse problems and possible solutions. Each group had five professionals (counsellor, nurse, minister, psychiatrist, social worker) and five women who have experienced battering from her husband in community. Result of the survey and two(lay persons and professionals) group discussions showed that victims need more assessment of physical, mental and spiritual needs. Victims were beaten more often during their pregnancies than at other times. Various kind of strategy were frequently utilized, but still the number of women abused and suicides committed increased. Both studies showed that the women experienced severe beating, that they felt powerless, that they need to understand that society abuser characteristics, that they lack a protection support system and that society lacks would an understanding of battered women. Based on the result of both studies, we developed model for prevention and education of battered women. This educational program will increase women s power to solve the abuse problems. The ultimate goal of the program is to develop a one-stop center to give wholistic approach care to women in abuse situations.

In this paper, we surveyed the opinion of MOTIE(Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) R&D PDs about what are the future promising industries and their mainly associated Ppuri-technologies. According to the survey result, the future technology trends are to shift the technologies beyond their own critical performance and dominate human-centered technologies through converging technologies. In particular, the 4 industries, personalized medical technology, intelligent and emotional-based system, solar power technology and flexible technology, are expected to be good perspective industries in the near future. In order to grow these industries, we need to develop the core Ppuri-technologies that are very closely related to the future main industries. More than all, Ppuri-technology acts as a leverage for the future promising industry and is expected to be the strong supporter in manufacturing infra.
The purpose of this study was to identify the difference of school food service dietitians' work value, job satisfaction, and turnover intention based on their expectation to be a nutrition teacher. Also, this study explored the differences in expectation to be a nutrition teacher, work value, job satisfaction, turnover intention depending on demographics and school foodservice operational characteristics. This study surveyed dietitians who worked at school foodservice in Kyunggii and Daegu Gyeoungbuk Province. A total of 509 responses were collected using on-site survey and online survey (59.3%). Dietitians expressed favorable work value ($3.88{\pm}0.34$) and mid level of a job satisfaction ($2.99{\pm}0.64$). The percentage of dietitians who had an intention to leave after the promulgation of a nutrition teacher system (13.2%) was lower than that of dietitians who had an intention to leave prior to it (23.2%). Most dietitians expected a salary rise (84.7%), more chance to teach nutrition education (76.0%), and the improvement of power not only as a teacher but as a dietitian (72.7%). Dietitians who had higher expectation levels to be a nutrition teacher (> 3 on the 5 point Likert scale) showed a higher tendency of significant turnover intention (F = 4.40, p < 0.01) and more confident work value (F = 15.292, p < 0.001) when comparing those who had lower expectations. There were significant differences in work value, job satisfaction, turnover intention, and expectation to be a nutrition teacher depending on career length and employment status of dietitians. This study revealed that school food service dietitians have favorable expectations to be nutrition teachers with high work value.

This study is for the pursuit of the basic application of the efficient conversion factor in the fee contract. This aims to investigate the effects of DEA efficiency index and conversion factors to identify and group the 60 hospitals with intern and residents education. To achieve the aims, AHP was used to select the inuput and output variables for DEA. It was found that the more inefficient in the technical and scale side, the higher the conversion factors were. Conversion factor and DEA efficiency index can be used very effectively to group and discriminant hospitals into a specialized general hospital and a general hospital. Even if the variables used to calculate DEA efficiency are applied to discriminant analysis, The conversion factor and DEA efficiency index have a significant power to make a function modeling. So, if we can make a more conclusive proof based on the large number samples, We can imagine to introduce a efficiency concept in the insurance fee contracts about a conversion factor in Korea Health Insurance System.
High-voltage dielectric discharges are an emerging technique in environmental pollutant degradation, which are characterized by the production of hydroxyl radicals as the primary degradation species. The initiation and propagation of the electrical discharges depends on several physical, chemical, and electrical parameters such as 1st and 2nd voltage of power, gas supply, conductivity and pH. These parameters also influence the physical and chemical characteristics of the discharges, including the production of reactive species such as OH, $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$. The experimental results showed that the optimum 1st voltage and oxygen flow rate for RNO (N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline, indicator of the generation of OH radical) degradation were 160 V (2nd voltage of is 15 kV) and 4 L/min, respectively. As the 2nd voltage (4 kV to 15 kV) was increase, RNO degradation was increased and, generated $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ concentration were increased. The conductivity of the solution was not influencing the RNO degradation, $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ generation. The pH effect on RNO degradation was not high. However, the lower pH and the conductivity, the higher $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ generation were observed.

Measuring and evaluating the business performance plays a very important role in managing business. It is because business performance, in any types of industry, can be evaluated and managed properly only when the measurement of its performance is estimated, and because its performance can be improved through an efficient and effective management. Therefore it is essential to build up the performance evaluation system to raise management efficiency of the foodservice industry, to reinforce competitive power of the food service industry. This study tried to propose a novel point of prospective and method in which the performance evaluation in any family restaurant should be illuminated and be performed. In this study, BSC provided the main conceptional framework for evaluating the performance of a family restaurant, and evaluation items of BSC four prospectives - financial, customers, internal business process, and learning and growth-were adjusted so as to be fitted into the business field. Furthermore, this study verified the validity of the proposed performance evaluation method through specific case analyses and used AHP to quantify its validity objectively. Finally, this study found the fact that non-financial prospectives, compared to financial prospectives, should be more importantly considered as the performance evaluation index of the family restaurants. Especially, the study showed that the proportion of performance evaluation indexes related to Customers prospective and Learning and Growth prospective revealed very highly, therefore variables such as customer satisfaction index, per employee productivity, education and training, customer response rate, employee satisfaction index should be emphasized as key factors at the process of selecting indexes and measuring their performance evaluation of the food service industry.

For example, many fine traditions gradually vanished in our actual life or only take half their life in heritage nowadays, such as our ancient broad and profound Confucian etiquette, ancient exquisite brocade art and architecture, ancient advanced ship-building technology and many other advanced numerous technological inventions; however, too much unwanted cultural rubbish keeps constant prevailing and takes repeated successions in the life, such as the heavy-form-and-light-content management mode, borrowing power to do evil, neglecting technological inventions long time and generally believing in ghost theory,etc.. This paper mainly focuses on the partial successions of the bad cultural heritage and its bad influence on the country, and concludes that it is just that that makes the country more and more backward. Therefore, the paper makes some pondering over these issues and proposes some related ideas of country-building to attract others participation to deal with them.
The purpose of this study was to compare pregnant women's gait parameters and mechanical energies caused by changes in hormone levels and anatomical features such as body mass, body-mass distribution, joint laxity, and musculo-tendinous strength from pregnancy to postpartum. Ten subjects (height: $161{\pm}6.5cm$, mass: $62.7{\pm}10.4\;kg$, $66.4{\pm}9.3\;kg$, $68.4{\pm}7.7\;kg$, $57.2{\pm}7.7\;kg$) participated in the four times experiments (the first, middle, last term and after birth) and walked ten trials at a self-selected pace without shoes. The gait motions were captured with Qualisys system and gait parameters were calculated with Visual-3D. Pregnant women's gait velocities were decreased during the pregnancy periods, but increased after birth. Stride width and cycle time were increased during pregnancy, but decreased after birth. Thigh energy (77.4%) was greater than shank energy (19.06%) or feet (3.54%) about total energy of the lower limbs. Their feet (Left R2=0.881, Right R2=0.852) and shank (Left R2=0.318, Right R2=0.226) energies were significantly increased (positive correlation), but double limb stance time (DLST, R2=0.679) and body total energy (R2=0.138) were decreased (negative correlation) for their velocities. These differences suggest that thigh segment may be a dominant segment among lower limbs, and have something to do with gait velocities. Further studies should investigate joint power and joint work to find energy dissipation or absorption from pregnancy period to postpartum.
A virtual science experience space(VSES) using virtual reality technology including haptic device is proposed to overcome limits which the existing science education has and to improve the effect of it. Four example scientific worlds such as Micro World, Friction World, Electromechanical World and Macro World are demonstrated by the developed VSES. Van der Waals forces in Micro World and Stick-Slip friction in Friction World, the principle of induction motor and power generator in Electromechanical World and Coriolis acceleration that is brought about by relative motion on the rotating coordinate are modeled mathematically based on physical principles. Emulation methods for haptic interface are suggested. The proposed VSES consists of haptic device, HMD or Crystal Eyes and a digital computer with stereoscopic graphics and GUI. The proposed system is believed to increase the realism and immersion for user.
