The parallel inverter is popularly used because of its fault-tolerance capability, high-current outputs at constant voltages and system modularity. The conventional parallel inverter usually employes active and reactive power control or frequency and voltage droop control. However, these approaches have the disadvantages that the response time of parallel inverter control is slow against load and system parameter variation to calculate active, reactive power, frequency and voltage. This paper describes a novel control scheme for power equalization in parallel connected inverter. The proposed scheme has a fast power balance control response, a simplicity of implementation, and inherent peak current limiting capability since it employes a instantaneous current/voltage control with output voltage and current balance and output voltage regulation. A design procedure for the proposed parallel inverter controller is presented. Futhermore, the proposed control scheme is verified through the simulation in various cases such as the system parameter variation, the control parameter variation and the nonlinear load condition.

Efforts are being made to replace ship diesel engines with electric propulsion motors in response to emission regulations. In particular, in the case of short-range small ships, research is being conducted to replace polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) with power sources. However, PEMFC has problems such as slow dynamic response characteristics and reduced durability at high temperatures. To solve this problem, a high-precision ship model was developed with power distribution and thermal management strategies applied, and through this, the required power, heat, and power characteristics of the propulsion system according to the ship's speed profile were analyzed.
Targeting a floating wave and offshore wind hybrid power generation system (FWWHybrid) designed in the Republic of Korea, this study examines the impact of the interaction, with multiple wave energy converters (WECs) placed on the platform, on platform motion. To investigate how the motion of WECs affects the behavior of the FWWHybrid platform, it was numerically compared with a scenario involving a 'single-body' system, where multiple WECs are constrained to the platform. In the case of FWWHybrid, because the platform and multiple WECs move in response to waves simultaneously as a 'multi-body' system, hydrodynamic interactions between these entities come into play. Additionally, the power take-off (PTO) mechanism between the platform and individual WECs is introduced for power production. First, the hydrostatic/dynamic coefficients required for numerical analysis were calculated in the frequency domain and then used in the time domain analysis. These simulations are performed using the extended HARP/CHARM3D code developed from previous studies. By conducting regular wave simulations, the response amplitude operator (RAO) for the platform of both single-body and multi-body scenarios was derived and subsequently compared. Next, to ascertain the difference in response in the real sea environment, this study also includes an analysis of irregular waves. As the floating body maintains its position through connection to a catenary mooring line, the impact of the slowly varying wave drift load cannot be disregarded. To assess the influence of the 2nd-order wave exciting load, irregular wave simulations were conducted, dividing them into cases where it was not considered and cases where it was included. The analysis of multi-degree-of-freedom behavior confirmed that the action of multiple WECs had a substantial impact on the platform's response.
To evaluate the suitability and effectiveness of the questionnaire concerning personal properties on 'pattern of speech and activity' according to the Sasang constitution that were used in Iksan Wonkwang Oriental Medicine, we analyzed the data of 1,335 patients obtained through the electronic chart in the aspect of 'relative discrimination ability' to Sasang constitutions and 'response ratio' using statistical Package SPSS. In categories of 'speech pattern', No.2 (speak mildly and softly) was effectively discriminating Soeum type. No.4 (talkative) and No.7 (speak fast) were effective factors for the discrimination of Soyang type, though No.4 (talkative) was needed to be improved in response ratio. The category of 'activity pattern' has shown high response ratio but low discriminating power. However, No.2 (keep staying home but avoid going out) in this category was effectively discriminating Soeum type. The discriminating power of 'pattern of speech and activity' for the age group less than 20 years old was too low, so it is necessary to develop the questionnaire for the elementary to high school students as well as for the preschoolers.

Design for a quite operation of fluid power system requires the understanding of noise and vibration characteristics of the system. This paper presents a dynamic response for design of hydraulic circuit. Experimental investigations on the attenuation characteristics of pressure ripple in automotive power steering hydraulic pipe with dynamic response of hydraulic pipe line is examined. Also, a mathematical model of hydraulic pipe is proposed to support design of the hydraulic circuit and analyze the attenuation characteristics of pressure ripples in a hydraulic pipe line. And analyze the impedance characteristics to determine the postion to construct accumulator for attenuation the pressure pulsation. The experimental results show that the pulsation attenuation characteristics of hydraulic hoses is remarkably affected by the flexible metal tube inserted coaxially inside a hydraulic hose with a finite length as well as viscoelastic properties of hose wall. It is also shown that the predicted results by the model proposed here agree well with the measured results over a wied range of frequency;

This communication investigates exact and distorted similitudes and the related scaling laws for the analysis of both dynamic response and radiated power of rectangular plates. The response of a given panel in similitude from another one is determined from a generalization of the modal approach, allowing the use of mode shapes, natural frequencies and finally radiation functions in order to establish appropriate scaling laws. Analytical models of simply supported rectangular plates are used to produce both original and replica model responses under point mechanical excitation. Emphasis is then especially put on laboratory experiments which are performed on baffled simply supported aluminum panels under mechanical excitations. All the six possible scaling directions, i.e. predicting a plate vibroacoustic reponse from another plate, are reported. All obtained results show that structural response or radiated sound power of a given plate can be both recovered with satisfactory accuracy by using the related scaling laws, even if parent models are used.

Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are introduced as an enabling technology in tele-health for patient monitoring. Designing an efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol is the main challenge in WBANs because of their various applications and strict requirements such as low level of energy consumption, low transmission delay, the wide range of data rates and prioritizing emergency data. In this paper, we propose a new MAC protocol to provide different requirements of WBANs targeted for medical applications. The proposed MAC provides an efficient emergency response mechanism by considering the correlation between medical signals. It also reduces the power consumption of nodes by minimizing contention access, reducing the probability of the collision and using an efficient synchronization algorithm. In addition, the proposed MAC protocol increases the data rate of the nodes by allocating the resources according to the condition of the network. Analytical and simulation results show that the proposed MAC protocol outperforms IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol in terms of power consumption level as well as the average response delay. Also, the comparison results of the proposed MAC with IEEE 802.15.6 MAC protocol show a tradeoff between average response delay and medical data rate.
Due to the severe impacts of recent earthquakes, the use of seismic isolation is paramount for the safety of nuclear structures. The diversity observed in seismic events demands ongoing research to analyze the devastating attributes involved, and hence to enhance the sustainability of base-isolated nuclear power plants. This study reports the seismic performance of a seismically-isolated nuclear reactor containment building (NRCB) under strong short-period ground motions (SPGMs) and long-period ground motions (LPGMs). The United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission-based design response spectrum for the seismic design of nuclear power plants is stipulated as the reference spectrum for ground motion selection. Within the period range(s) of interest, the spectral matching of selected records with the target spectrum is ensured using the spectral-compatibility approach. NRC-compliant SPGMs and LPGMs from the mega-thrust Tohoku earthquake are used to obtain the structural response of the base-isolated NRCB. To account for the lack of earthquakes in low-to-moderate seismicity zones and the gap in the artificial synthesis of long-period records, wavelet-decomposition based autoregressive moving average modeling for artificial generation of real ground motions is performed. Based on analysis results from real and simulated SPGMs versus LPGMs, the performance of NRCBs is discussed with suggestions for future research and seismic provisions.

As an Increased penetration level of renewable resources has caused concerns about primary frequency response, an increase in BESS(Battery Energy Storage System) capacity has been expected because of its fast response to the disturbances in the power system. This paper proposes the Integrated Control Strategy of multiple BESS for effectively providing the primary frequency control in the bulk power systems by coordinating the response, SOC and its recovery of BESS. The proposed strategy prevents multiple BESS from providing exceeding response and keeps the balance between SOC of multiple BESS. In addition, It would recover the SOC of BESS efficiently. The effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified through various case studies employing Korean power system.
