무선충전시스템의 충전 제어 방식 (Charging Control of Wireless Charging System)

  • A hybrid control of a rectifier/regulator of wireless power transfer systems for electric vehicles is studied. A combined rectifier/regulator is used for charging control. The hybrid control comprises integral cycle control and pulse width modulation control to cope with the variations in the induced voltage due to clearance and alignment. The hybrid control has good control capability and does not cause severe switching loss. A 22 kW prototype of the Wireless Power Transfer class 4 charging system defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers is constructed and tested to verify the proposal.

  • 버스전압이 배터리 전압과 동일하며, 전력조절기(power regulator)의 스위칭 듀티 값(duty-ratio)이 위성탑재 소프트웨어에 의해서 제어되는 소프트웨어 제어방식의 비 조절형 버스 시스템(unregulated bus system)은 저궤도 위성에 흔히 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 소프트웨어 제어방식의 비 조절형 버스 시스템의 전력조절기 모듈화에 적용 가능한 새로운 전원단 회로를 제안하며, 제안된 전원단의 모드별 동작 특성을 해석한다. 다음으로 컨버터 병렬동작에서 발생할 수 있는 모듈간 전류 불균형(current unbalance)에 대한 제안된 전원단의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 제안된 전원단을 적용한 병렬모듈 컨버터의 prototype을 제작하여 모듈별 전류 분배(current sharing) 특성을 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교 검토한다.

Series Compensated Step-down AC Voltage Regulator using AC Chopper with Transformer

  • This paper describes a step-down AC voltage regulator using an AC chopper and auxiliary transformer, which is a series connected to the main input. The detail design of the AC regulator, logic and PWM pattern of the AC chopper is described and the three-phase AC regulator using two single­phase AC choppers with a three transformer configuration is proposed for three-phase application. The proposed three-phase system has the advantages of lower system cost due to reduced switch number and gate driver circuit as well as advantages of decreased size and weight because it uses a series compensated scheme. The proposed AC regulator has many benefits such as fast voltage control, high efficiency and simple control logic. Experimental results indicate that it can be used as a step-down AC voltage regulator for power saving purposes very efficiently.

  • In order to design the control system of the magnetic bearing for the high speed 3 phase induction motor, the mathematical modeling was conducted and LQ regulator system was designed. When the plant is controllable and detectable, the nominal stability of LQ regulator could be guaranteed. However, LQ regulator doesn't ensure the robustness of stability and performance for the real system because LQ control is the mathematical optimal theory. In this paper to ensure the robustness of stability and performance for the real system, the control systems are designed by the simulation to the variation system parameters and this method was confirmed as an effective means.

  • The bidirectional boost-buck chopper type AC voltage regulator is presented in this paper. The main characteristic of the AC chopper is the fact that it generates an output AC voltage larger or lower than the input AC one, depending of the instantaneous duty-cycle. Boost-buck chopper type AC voltage regulator, derived from the DC chopper modulated method, is a kind of direct AC-AC voltage converter and has many advantages: such as fast response speed, low harmonics and high power factor. It adopts high switching frequency AC chopper technique and can do wide range step less AC voltage regulation.

  • This paper introduces an efficient voltage multiplier circuit for improved voltage gain and power efficiency of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. The multiplier is fully integratable and takes advantage of both passive and active circuits to reduce the required input power while yielding the desired DC voltage. A six-stage voltage multiplier and an ultralow power voltage regulator are designed in a 0.13 ${\mu}m$ complementary metal-oxide semiconductor process for 2.45 GHz RFID applications. The minimum required input power for a 1.2 V supply voltage in the case of a 50 ${\Omega}$ antenna is -20.45 dBm. The efficiency is 15.95% for a 1 $M{\Omega}$ load. The regulator consumes 129 nW DC power and maintains the reference voltage in a 1.1% range with $V_{dd}$ varying from 0.8 to 2 V. The power supply noise rejection of the regulator is 42 dB near a 2.45 GHz frequency and performs better than -32 dB from 100 Hz to 10 GHz frequencies.

  • This paper proposed a three-channel transformer-type power regulator to control the heater temperature by adjusting the voltage across the heater for pre-heating and the post-heating procedures of the material welding. The experimental results are carried out to verify the performance of three-channel heater temperature control for the heat treatment.

압전 밸브용 압력 레귤레이터 (Pressure Regulator for Piezoelectric Valve)

  • The pressure regulator which is used for controlling the reducing pressure in the piezoelectrically driven pneumatic valve has been studied. The pneumatic valve of this study object is 2-stage type and consists of a piezoelectric actuator, a controller, a poppet valve and a pressure regulator. Nominal flow of 50 lpm, maximum operating pressure of 0.9MPa and frequency characteristic of 10Hz and over are required in this pneumatic valve, but the pressure regulator is needed because piezoelectric actuator has no ability to control the pressure of 0.9MPa directly. In this study, bimorph type PZT actuator of $25.2mm(L){\times}7.2mm(W){\times}0.5mm(H)$ with constant of $-220{\times}10-12$ CN-1 was proposed and investigated. Maximum operating force of 0.052 N and maximum displacement of $63{\mu}m$ were gotten from the fabricated PZT actuator. From the analysis results, the orifice diameter of 0.6mm for a piezoelectric actuator was derived and then the pressure regulator which can be operated under 0.15 MPa easily was designed and manufactured. Performance and effects of design parameters were simulated by the Simulink of Matlab software, and it was confirmed that the performance characteristics of manufactured pressure regulator are superior in the common use pressure range of 0.5 MPa to 0.7 MPa. The results show that the proposed pressure regulator is suitable for the pneumatic valve with a PZT actuator.

A New Photovoltaic System Architecture of Module-Integrated Converter with a Single-sourced Asymmetric Multilevel Inverter Using a Cost-effective Single-ended Pre-regulator

  • In this paper, a new architecture for a cost-effective power conditioning systems (PCS) using a single-sourced asymmetric cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (MLI) for photovoltaic (PV) applications is proposed. The asymmetric MLI topology has a reduced number of parts compared to the symmetrical type for the same number of voltage level. However, the modulation index threshold related to the drop in the number of levels of the inverter output is higher than that of the symmetrical MLI. This problem results in a modulation index limitation which is relatively higher than that of the symmetrical MLI. Hence, an extra voltage pre-regulator becomes a necessary component in the PCS under a wide operating bias variation. In addition to pre-stage voltage regulation for the constant MLI dc-links, another auxiliary pre-regulator should provide isolation and voltage balance among the multiple H-bridge cells in the asymmetrical MLI as well as the symmetrical ones. The proposed PCS uses a single-ended DC-DC converter topology with a coupled inductor and charge-pump circuit to satisfy all of the aforementioned requirements. Since the proposed integrated-type voltage pre-regulator circuit uses only a single MOSFET switch and a single magnetic component, the size and cost of the PCS is an optimal trade-off. In addition, the voltage balance between the separate H-bridge cells is automatically maintained by the number of turns in the coupled inductor transformer regardless of the duty cycle, which eliminates the need for an extra voltage regulator for the auxiliary H-bridge in MLIs. The voltage balance is also maintained under the discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Thus, the PCS is also operational during light load conditions. The proposed architecture can apply the module-integrated converter (MIC) concept to perform distributed MPPT. The proposed architecture is analyzed and verified for a 7-level asymmetric MLI, using simulation results and a hardware implementation.

  • This paper proposes the design of STATCOM(static synchronous compensator) stabilizer for improving power system stability using fuzzy logic controller(FLC). The STATCOM DC voltage regulator contributes negative damping to the power system as the installation of STATCOM DC voltage regulator. STATCOM stabiliser is superimposed on the AC voltage regulator to compensate the negative damping effect. To evaluate usefulness of the proposed method, we perform the nonlinear simulation on a single-machine infinite bus system. As results of the simulations, the proposed method shows better control performance than PI controller in terms of damping effects.
