A Study on the development of optical fiber incorporated high-voltage underground power cable (광복합 고압지중전력케이블의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, We developed the optical fiber incorporated high-voltage underground power cable which is combined optical fibers with conventional high-voltage underground power cable. Optical-Unit that optical fiber is inserted in stainless tube is tested, and we got good results enough to safe optical fibers. Also we put the optical fiber incorporated high-voltage underground power cable to the test of electrical characteristics and optical characteristics, we knew that the electrical characteristics were the same characteristics as conventional high-voltage underground power cable and the transmission loss change was almost zero.

  • In this study, We developed the 154kV optical fiber incorporated power cable which is combined optical fibers with conventional 154kV power cable. Also, we developed optical unit that optical fiber is inserted in stainless tube. The optical unit was tested, and we got good results enough to safe optical fibers. Also we put the optical fiber incorporated power cable to the test of electrical characteristics and optical characteristics, we knew that the electrical characteristics were the same characteristics as conventional 154kV power cable and the transmission loss change was almost zero. The method of optical unit connection was examined.

  • The edges with "bridge characteristic" play the role of connecting the communication between regions in power optical cable network. To solve the problem of mining edges with "bridge characteristic" in provincial power optical cable network, the complex power optical cable network model is constructed. Firstly, to measure the generated potential energy of all nodes in n-level neighborhood local structure for one edge, the n-level neighborhood local structure topological potential is designed. And the minimum connected chain attenuation is designed to measure the attenuation degree caused by substituted edges. On the basis of that, the minimum connected chain attenuation topological potential based measurement is designed. By using the designed measurement, a bridge-edges mining algorithm is proposed to mine edges with "bridge characteristic". The experiments are conducted on the physical topology of the power optical cable network in Jilin Province. Compared with that of other three typical methods, the network efficiency and connectivity of the proposed method are decreased by 3.58% and 28.79% on average respectively. And the proposed method can not only mine optical cable connection with typical "bridge characteristic" but also can mine optical cables without obvious characteristics of city or voltage, but it have "bridge characteristic" in the topology structure.

  • Since power system is switching to smart grid, on-line monitoring technology has become necessary for underground distribution power cable. Therefore, the application of DTS(Distributed Temperature Sensing) technology using OFCPC(Optical Fiber Composite Power Cable) capable of monitoring underground distribution power cables has been developed. These can bring about reductions in faults and increases in operating capacity of underground distribution system. To date, the test-bed of optical fiber composite power cable on-line monitoring system has been constructed. Then, matters to be improved have been drawn through verification experiments. This paper presents the improvement and experiment results of the optical fiber composite power cable on-line monitoring system to apply to underground distribution lines in the field.

  • This paper describes the effects on SUS tube of power optical fiber composite cable on underground transmission lines. The effects on grounding, air gap between SUS tube and metal sheath, contact resistance between outer semi-conducting layer and metal sheath and grounding of SUS tube application or not are variously analysed using EMTP in normal operating condition as well as single line to ground fault. From these results, in this paper, the scheme for protecting the electrically abnormal phenomena will be established on power-optical fiber composite cable of underground transmission lines. This paper can contribute to specification of grounding reference of SUS tube of optical fiber composite power cable system.

  • Recently, the increasing need for internet and the activation of hiring business of communication line makes the demand for OPGW cable which can construct the optical communication network in the basis of existing overhead power transmission line. Especially, the demand is focused on the high fiber count OPGW due to high capacity transmission. In step with the trend toward high fiber count cable we have developed the Stainless Steel Loose Tube type OPGW within which have 144core firstly in KOREA. This paper describes the cable design and manufacturing process which gives the stable operation in very severe conditions and the long-term reliability test results conducted in according to dominant specification IEEE Std. 1138-1194.

  • In recent years, fiberoptic technology is becoming indispensable in establishing communication networks due to its low loss, high capacity and non-inductive properties. In the power industry as well, the technology is being required to cable and facility monitering, and control system. But, duct in the manhole and space in the culvert are required to fiberoptic cable that is separated from power cable. Therefore, some cable makers and R&D has been studying the composite fiber/power cables. This report introduces the outline of ABF system, construction and properties of optical composite power cable that used ABF technology.

  • Intelligent distribution equipment is inevitable to realize self-healing which is one of smart grid functions in distribution network. Therefore, most of distribution equipment have been developed with self diagnostic sensors. However, it is not effective to construct on-line monitoring system for underground distribution cable because of high cost and low sensitivity. Recently, optical fiber composite cable is being considered for communication and power delivery in order to cope with increasing communication in distribution network. This paper presents the design and performance assessment results of underground cable on-line monitoring system using DTS(Distributed Temperature Sensing) and optical fiber composite underground cable.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 가공지선(GW, Ground Wire)을 OPGW(Optical Ground Wire)로 교체공사를 할 경우 나타나는 절연로프에서의 건조대 아크현상을 수치적인 모델링를 통하여 해석할 수 있는 프로그램을 제작하고 현장조건을 입력하여 문제점을 판단하고 해결할 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
