To provide electricity power of good quality, it is essential to establish generation of electricity plan in electric power system based on accurate power-demand prediction and cope with changes of power-need fluctuating constantly. The role of hydraulic-power generation of electricity in electric power system is of importance because responding to electric power-demand counts or reservoir-type hydraulic-power generation of electricity which is designed for additional load in electric power system. So hydraulic-power generation of electricity must have fast start reserve. But the amount of water, resources of reservoir-type hydraulic-power generation of electricity is restricted and multi-used, so the scheduling of management by exact forecasting the amount of water is critical. That is why efficient hydraulic-power generation of electricity makes a main role on pumping up the utility of energy and water resource. This thesis introduced the example of optimal generation of electricity plan establishment which is used in managing reservoir-type hydraulic-power generation of electricity.
In this study, we compared the operational rates of natural gas, coal, nuclear power and renewable energy based on the data of power generation and power generation facilities produced in summer season(from June to August) during the last four years(2015~2018). Nuclear power and coal power, which are responsible for basic power generation, were guaranteed to be economical as the actual generation capacity remained 60% higher than the cost of power generation. On the other hand, natural gas generation and new renewable energy generation have a very low actual operation rate of 29.5% and 27.3% compared to investments in power generation facilities, making it difficult to lower the cost of power generation. However, coal generation has structural problems in terms of greenhouse gas, fine dust. On the other hand, natural gas generation is relatively low and even though it is safe, it is difficult to secure economic feasibility as it is bound by a peak power system. Therefore, it is only possible to achieve balanced development of energy sources when there is a change in the development policy.

Recently, renewable energy has been increasing in Korea to reduce greenhouse gas, and solar power generation, which accounts for the largest proportion of renewable energy, is noteworthy. The government policy will further increase solar power generation. In order to implement the policy, it is important to understand the current status of domestic solar power generation facilities. Therefore, the current status of solar power generation facilities in Jinju city close to the south coast and Jeonju city close to the west coast was investigated and compared. By 2020, 618 solar power plants had been installed in Jeonju city and 269 in Jinju city. However, there is not much difference in the amount of solar power generation for business at 9 GWh. The reason is that Jinju city has a lower population density than Jeonju city, so there are enough places to install a large-scale solar power facilities with a large power generation capacity. Monthly solar power generation was the highest in April in both Jeonju city and Jinju city and the lowest in January. In particular, in December, Jinju city showed more solar power generation than Jeonju city because of the large amount of insolation, long sunshine hours, and few clouds.

This research is thing about location choice of solar power generation equipment to increase efficiency of solar power generation equipment. In the case of current solar power generation equipment, location of large scale solar power generation equipment facilities choice or, have localized in small scale equipment by individual. This research uses various climatic elements of small scale area for efficient location choice of solar power generation facilities and quantity of solar radiation did back-tracking.
Purpose: Recently, research has continued to predict the time of failure of the facility through measurement data obtained by attaching a sensor to the facility. However, depending on the facility, it may be difficult to attach a sensor. The purpose of this study is to propose a power generation maintenance plan system based on failure record data obtained from Continuous Ship Unloader, one of the facilities that is difficult to attach sensors. Methods: This study uses data collected from 2012 to 2022 from the 'CSU-1B' model among Continuous Ship Unloader operated by Korea Midland Power Co., LTD. By fitting fault record data to the Weibull distribution, appropriate maintenance cycles and ranges for each target facility subsystem are derived. In addition, maintenance group between subsystems is selected through Euclidean distance, a metric often used for time series data similarity. Through this, a system for establishing an maintenance plan for power generation facilities is proposed. Results: The results of this study are as follows. For the 17 subsystems of the Continuous Ship Unloader, proper maintenance cycles and ranges were determined, and a total of four maintenance groups were chosen. This resulted in the creation of an power generation maintenance plan system and the establishment of an maintenance plan. Conclusion: This study is a case study of power generation facilities. We proposed a maintenance plan system for Continuous Ship Unloader among power generation facilities.
Since 2001, Korea government has been purchasing the generation from renewable generation facilities with the higher incentive prices than market price in order to increase the penetration of renewable energies. Generally, the incentive purchase tariff is calculated on the base of the generation cost of renewable power facilities. This paper constructs the input data for economic analysis and evaluates the generation cost of PV, wind power, LFG and small hydro power using LCCA model.
Due to changes in the distribution system and increased demand for renewable energy, interest in technology to increase the limit capacity of distributed energy grid connection using grid flexible resources is also increasing. Recently, the distribution system system is changing due to the increase in distributed power from renewable energy, and as a result, problems with the limited capacity of the distribution system, such as waiting for renewable energy to connect and increased overload, are occurring. According to the power generation facility status report provided by the Korea Power Exchange, of the total power generation capacity of 134,020 MW as of 2021, power generation capacity through new and renewable energy facilities is 24,855 MW, accounting for approximately 19%, and among them, power generation through solar power accounts for a total portion of the total. It was analyzed that the proportion of solar power generation facilities was high, accounting for 75%. In the future, the proportion of new and renewable energy power generation facilities is expected to increase, and accordingly, an efficient operation plan for the distribution system is needed. Advanced country-type NWAs that can integrate the operation and management of load characteristics for each line of the distribution system, power distribution, regional characteristics, and economic feasibility of distributed power in order to improve distribution network use efficiency without expanding distribution facilities due to the expansion of renewable energy. An integrated operating system is needed. In this study, in order to improve the efficiency of distribution network use without expanding distribution facilities due to the expansion of renewable energy, we developed a method that can integrate the operation and management of load characteristics for each line of the distribution system, power distribution, regional characteristics, and economic feasibility of distributed power. We want to develop an integrated operation system for NWAs similar to that of advanced countries.

In view of the frequent start-ups and load changes in the recent past, there is a need for fossil-fuel power plants to be more efficient and reliable for long-term operation. Under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, severe creep and fatigue damages can occur in major plant facilities, particularly, turbines and boilers. For highly stable operation and better maintenance, various techniques that facilitate a systematic assessment of the service life of critical facilities have been developed. However, to date, in Korea, to evaluate the remaining life of major facilities of fossil power plant, qualitative or semiquantitative analyses are carried out without following any standard guidelines or procedure. In this study, a standard code for assessing the remaining life of major plant facilities is proposed. This code takes into account creep and fatigue damage, which are generally accepted as dominant causes of damage to facilities. KEPIC (Korea Electric Power Industry code) is scheduled to include this guideline in 2010.

In this paper, we propose an example of designing and constructing a roof-type solar power plant structure equipped with a Pseudo-BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaic) shape suitable for use as a roof of a small warehouse with a sandwich-type panel structure. As the characteristics of the roof-type solar power generation facility to be installed in the small warehouse proposed in this study, the shape of the roof is not a general A type, but a right-angled triangle shape with the slope is designed to face south. We chose a structure in which an inverter for one power plant and a control facility are linked by grouping several roofs of buildings. In addition, the height of the roof structure is less than 20 cm from the floor, and it has a shape similar to that of the BIPV, so it is building-friendly because it is almost in close contact with the roof. At the same time, the roof creates a reflective light source due to the white color. By linking this roof with a double-sided solar panel, we designed it to obtain both the advantage of the roof-friendliness and the advantage of efficiency improvement for the electric power generation based on the double-sided panel. Compared to the existing solar power generation facilities using A-shaped cross-sectional modules, the power generation efficiency of roofs in this case is increased by more than 11%, which we can confirm, through the comparison analysis of monitoring data between power plants in the same area. Therefore, if the roof-type solar structure suitable for the small warehouse we have presented in this paper is used, the facilities of electric power generation is eco-friendly. Further it is easier to obtain facility certification compared to the BIPV, and improved capacity of the power generation can be secured at low material cost. It is believed that the roof-type solar power generation facility we proposed can be usefully used for warehouse or factory-based smart housing. Sensor devices for monitoring, CCTV monitoring, or safety and environment management, operating in connection with the solar power generation facilities, are linked with the Internet of Things (IoT) solution, so they can be monitored and controlled remotely.

The AC power lines and signal lines of info-communication networks are routed on overhead poles and are highly exposed to lightning strikes. Due to the potential difference between grounding points of AC power lines and signal lines, the electronic equipments connected to the signal lines can easily be damaged by lightning surges. In this work, in order to develop reliable methods of protecting information and communication facilities from lightning surges, the reliability and performance of SPDs (surge protective devices) were experimentally investigated in an actual-sized test circuit. The behaviors of SPDs against lightning surges from AC power lines and signal lines and the coordinated effects of SPD installation methods were evaluated. As a consequence, it was confirmed that the bypass arrester methods and common grounding system are both highly effective.
