고조파감소 및 역률개선을 위한 SRM 구동시스템에 관한 연구 (SRM drive system with reduced harmonics and improved power factor)

  • Switched relutance motor(SRM) has the advantages of simple structure, low rotor intertia, and high power rate per unit volume. However, SRM has the disadvantages of high current harmonics, and low power factor because of the discontinuous excitation of pulse type. The harmonics brings about the distortion and loss of power system, and brings about the incorrect opertion of electronic system. This paper investigates the SRM drive system with the reduced harmonics and improved power factor. The system consists of the switching power converter with poewr factor correction(SPC-PFC), DC/DC converter and 3-phase inverter. The performances in the proposed system are verified through the simpuation and experiment.

자립형 이동로봇 구동을 위한 직류 서보전동기 PLL 속도제어 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on PLL Speed Control System of DC Servo Motor for Mobile Robot Drive)

  • The speed control associated with dc servo motors for direct-drive applications of mobile robot is considered in this study. Robot is moved by power wheeled steering of two dc servo motors mounted to it. In order to cooperate with micro-computer and to achieve the high-performance operation of dc servo motor, speed control system is composed of a digital Phase Locked Loop and H-type drive circuit. And the motor is driven by Pulse Width Modulations. In controlling PWM, it is modified to compose of H-type drive circuit with feedback diodes and switching transistor and design of control sequence so that it may show linear characteristics. As a result, speed characteristics of motor showed linear features. In order to get data on design of PLL control system, the parameters of 80[W[ motor & robot device is measured by simple software control. The PLL speed control system is schemed and designed by leaner drive circuit and measured parameters. A complete speed control system applied to 80[W] dc servo motor showed good linearity, stability and high response. Also, it is verified that the PLL speed control system has good compatibility as a mobile robot driver.

A Feasible Approach for the Unified PID Position Controller Including Zero-Phase Error Tracking Performance for Direct Drive Rotation Motor

  • The design and implementation of a high performance PID (Proportional Integral & Differential) style controller with zero-phase error tracking property is considered in this article. Unlike a ball screw driven system, the controller in a direct drive system should provide a high level of tracking performance while avoiding the problems due to the absence of the gear system. The stiff mechanical element in a direct drive system allows high precise positioning capability, but relatively high tracking ability with minimal position error is required. In this work, a feasible position controller named 'Unified PID controller' is presented. It will be shown that the function of the closed position loop can be designed into unity gain system in continuous time domain to provide minimal position error. The focus of this work is in two areas. First, easy gain tunable PID position controller without speed control loop is designed in order to construct feasible high performance drive system. Second, a simple but powerful zero phase error tracking strategy using the pre-designed function of the main control loop is presented for minimal tracking error in all operating conditions. Experimental results with a s-curve based position pattern commonly used in industrial field demonstrate the feasibility and effective performance of the approach.

  • This paper presents a design and characteristics analysis of an SRM drive for EPS application. A rack mounted EPS system is considered in this paper. In the unrestricted design conditions, motor parameters are determined for sufficient torque and speed. For the smooth torque generation and simple circuit of power system, 12/8 motor drive is considered. With FEM and magnetic circuit analysis, redesigned motor is simulated to meet the requirement of specifications. Effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by redesigned motor drive tests.

  • 본 논문에서는 1 단구조방식의 PFC 회로를 갖는 단상 SRM 구동시스템의 특성해석에 대해 다룬다. 단상 SRM은 기계적 및 전기적 구조가 단순하고, 견고하며, 고속운전특성이 우수하다. 다이오드 브릿지 정류기와 직류링크회로의 커패시터로 구성된 종래의 단상 SRM 구동방식은 커패시터의 짧은 시간의 충 방전 전류에 의해 역률이 크게 저하되는 문제가 발생한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 우선 부가적인 능동회로가 없는 1 단방식의 PFC 회로에 대한 분석을 통하여 역률개선 및 토크리플 억제를 위한 스위칭 토플로지를 새로 제안한다. 제안한 스위칭 토플로지로 작동하는 PFC 회로를 갖는 단상 SRM 구동시스템을 구축하고 시스템에 대한 수치해석을 통해 운전속도, 부하토크 및 커패시터 용량에 따른 토크리플, 역률 및 효율 등 시스템의 특성을 얻으며, 이를 실제 실험결과와 비교한다.

Real-Time Implementation of Brain Emotional Learning Developed for Digital Signal Processor-Based Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive Systems

  • In this study, a brain emotional learning-based intelligent controller (BELBIC) is developed for the speed control of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). A novel and simple model of the IPMSM drive structure is established with the intelligent control system, which controls motor speed accurately without the use of any conventional PI controllers and is independent of motor parameters. This study is conducted in both real time and simulation with a new control plant for a laboratory 3 ph, 3.8 Nm IPMSM digital signal processor (DSP)-based drive system. This DSP-based drive system is then compared with conventional BELBIC and an optimized conventional PI controller. Results show that the proposed method performs better than the other controllers and exhibits excellent control characteristics, such as fast response, simple implementation, and robustness with respect to disturbances and manufacturing imperfections.

하이브리드형 선형 펄스 모터와 마이크로스텝 드라이버 설계 (A Design of Hybrid Type Linear Pulse Motor and Microstep Driver)

  • In this paper we designed a prototype hybrid type linear pulse motor (HLPM) with single side stator structure for low cost. The measurement system which can get the motor characteristics of the HLPM was suggested. The static and dynamic characteristics of the thrust force are measured analyzed. And the microstep drive method is adopted and tested to the drive of prototype HLPM. The thrust waveform is measured respectively to know the differences of the thrust waveform between the microstep drive method and rectangular wave. From the experimental results, it can be confirmed that the repetitive ripple of the thrust force of the prototype HLPM is reduced by taking the microstep drive method.

  • In this paper we proposed a new sensorless drive system for the trapezoidal type brushless DC motor which does not use any mechanical position or speed sensor and applicable to the systems requiring a constant speed and torque such as Fan. For this a novel indirect rotor position sensing technique based on a detailed analysis of the terminal voltage characteristics is proposed in this paper. And a sensorless drive system for the brushless DC motor is implemented using a 87c196mc fo the main microprocessor and a power FET for the inverter. The experimental results will show the validity of the proposed indirect sensing method and the practical use of the sensorless drive

  • The authors have proposed a linear motor driven container crane system, in which the linear motor to drive trolley chassis is also used to control swaying motion of a hanging container. To utilize the proposed system, it is needed to develop a power saving control system for the linear drive system. In this paper, an integrated control system to minimize required electric power to drive a trolley chassis with the suppressed swaying motion of a hanged container, is proposed. The validity of the proposed control system is investigated by the simulation using Simulink.

For the smooth torque generation and simple circuit of power system, 12/8 motor drive is considered. With FEM and magnetic circuit analysis, designed motor is simulated to meet the requirement of specifications. Effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by the manufactured prototype motor drive tests.
