The effects of drying methods on the browning and moisture sorption characteristics of Rubus coreanus were studied. Fruits were steamed for 5 min at $100^{\circ}C$, dried by sun drying, infrared drying, or freeze drying, and powdered to a size of 20 mesh. Color values were measured and equilibrium moisture contents (EMC) were determined at $20^{\circ}C$, over a range of water activity ($a_w$) from 0.11 to 0.90. The browning indices $L^*$ and $a^*$ values were higher and lower, respectively, in freeze-dried Rubus coreanus compared with other samples. The $b^*$ value was greatest in freeze-dried Rubus coreanus. EMC tended to increase with increasing $a_w$ values, and a particularly sharp increment was observed above 0.75 $a_w$. The EMC of freeze-dried Rubus coreanus was significantly higher compared with the EMC of sun-dried and infrared-dried fruit at constant aw. The moisture sorption isotherms showed a typical sigmoid shape, and the Halsey, Kuhn, and Oswin models were the best fits for the sun-dried, infrared-dried, and freeze-dried powder isotherms, respectively. With respect to monolayer moisture content, the Guggenheim-Anderson-Boer (GAB) equation showed that the various drying methods yielded very different results, with monolayer moisture contents of 0.005 g $H_2O/g$ dry solid in infrared-dried and 0.019 g $H_2O/g$ dry solid in sun- and freeze-dried powders, respectively. These results indicate that the drying method affects the browning and moisture sorption characteristics of Rubus coreanus.
Recently, carbon capture and storage (CCS) techniques have been globally studied. This study was conducted to use waste cement powder as an efficient raw material of mineral carbonation for $CO_2$ sequestration. Direct aqueous carbonation experiment was conducted with injecting pure $CO_2$ gas (99.9%) to a reactor containing $200m{\ell}$ reacting solution and the pulverized cement paste (W:C = 6:4) having particle size less than 0.15 mm. The effects of two additives (NaCl, $MgCl_2$) in carbonation were analyzed. The characteristics of carbonate minerals and carbonation process according to the type of additives and pH change were carefully evaluated. pH of reacting solution was gradually decreased with injecting $CO_2$ gas. $Ca^{2+}$ ion concentration in $MgCl_2$ containing solution was continuously decreased. In none $MgCl_2$ solution, however, $Ca^{2+}$ ion concentration was increased again as pH decreased. This is probably due to the dissolution of newly formed carbonate mineral in low pH solution. XRD analysis indicates that calcite is dominant carbonate mineral in none $MgCl_2$ solution whereas aragonite is dominant in $MgCl_2$ containing solution. Unstable vaterite formed in early stage of experiment was transformed to well crystallized calcite with decreasing pH in the absence of $MgCl_2$ additives. In the presence of $MgCl_2$ additives, the content of aragonite was increased with decreasing pH whereas the content of calite was decreased.

To investigate the utilization of calcium lactates (CaL) as coagulants for tofu manufacture, the quality characteristics and shelf-life of tofu made by CaL-P (black snail powder) and CaL-A (black snail ash) were investigated and compared to calcium chloride (CC), magnesium chloride (MC), calcium sulfate (CS ) and standard calcium lactate (CaL-S). And also, total microbe and turbidity of the tofu were determined during storage at 1$0^{\circ}C$. Coagulation ability of CaL-A was the highest, and the ability of CaL-P was higher than that of CaL-S. Yield of CaL-A tofu was similar to those of CS and CC tofu, while the yield of CaL-P tofu was 50% compared to that of CC. L* value of CaL-P tofu was lower, but a* and b* values were higher than those of other tofus. The hardness of tofu showed in the order of CaL-S>CS>CC>CaL-P>MC>CaL-A, while the cohesiveness showed in the order of MC>CaL-S>CC>CS>CaL-P>CaL-A. Calcium contents were 57 mg% in MC tofu, 174 mg% in CS tofu, 116 mg% in CaL-S tofu, 95 mg% in CaL-A tofu and 172 mg% in CaL-P tofu. From the results of microscopic observations, the lower hardness showed the more soft and the smaller particle. The particle of CaL-A tofu was small and uniformity but the size of CaL-P and CC tofu showed coarse. Sensory quality of CaL-P and -A tofu were better than the other tofu evaluated by texture, springiness, flavor and overall taste. The shelf-life estimated by total microbe was 4∼6 days in CC, MC, CS, CaL-S and CaL-A tofu, but 8 days in CaL-P tofu at 1$0^{\circ}C$. From the above results, the CaL-P and -A may believe to use as coagulant for tofu manufacture due to its softened taste and enhanced shelf-life, and higher calcium content which has higher absorbability in human body.

This study is designed to examine the change in physical properties of extruded brown rice-vegetable mix at different temperatures and $CO_2$ gas injections. Moisture content and screw speed were fixed to 27% and 100 rpm respectively. Die temperatures and $CO_2$ gas injections were adjusted to 60, 80, $100^{\circ}C$ and 0, 150 mL/min, respectively. The ratio of ${\alpha}$-brown rice, brown rice and sugars (oligosaccharides and palatinose) was fixed to 25, 50 and 16%, respectively. Green tea, tomato and pumpkin powder were blended individually at 9%. Specific mechanical energy (SME) input decreased as die temperature for each vegetable addition increased. All extrudates decreased in density and breaking strength, but increased in specific length and water soluble index as $CO_2$ gas injection increased. Elastic modulus decreased as the die temperature and $CO_2$ gas injection increased. Extruded green tea mix with $CO_2$ gas injection at 150 mL/min was larger pore size and higher amount of pore than the tomato and pumpkin extrudates with $CO_2$ gas injection. Cold extrusion with $CO_2$ gas injection at $60^{\circ}C$ die temperature could be applicable for making Saengsik (uncooked food).
Now a days, the Medical X-ray equipments has become digitalized from analog type such as film, cassette to CR, DR. And many scientists are still researching and developing the Medical X-ray equipment. In this study, we used the Bismuth tri-iodide to conversion material for digital X-ray equipments and we couldn't get the satisfying result than previous study, but it opened new possibility to cover the disadvantage of a-Se is high voltage aplly and difficultness of make. In this paper, we use $BiI_3$ powder(99.99%) as x-ray conversion material and make films that have thickness of 200um and the film size is $3cm{\times}3cm$. Also, we deposited an ITO(Indium Tin Oxide) electrode as top electrode and bottom electrode using a Magnetron Sputtering System. To evaluate a characteristics of the produced films, an electrical and structural properties are performed. Through a SEM analysis, we confirmed a surface and component part. And to analyze the electrical properties, darkcurrent, sensitivity and SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) are measured. Darkcurrent is $1.6nA/cm^2$ and sensitivity is $0.629nC/cm^2$ and this study shows that the electrical properties of x-ray conversion material that made by screen printing method are similar to PVD method or better than that. This results suggest that $BiI_3$ is suitable for a replacement of a-Se because of the reduced manufacture processing and improved yield.

When $Al_2O_3-MoO_3$ mixture is reduced, $MoO_3$ is only reduced to Mo at $900^{\circ}C$. But a compound between $Al_2O_3$ and Mo is not formed up to $1300^{\circ}C$. In the case of $Al_2O_3-MoO_3-MnO_2$ mixture, an intermediate compound $Mn_2Mo_3O_8$ is firstly formed at $900^{\circ}C$ and changes to $MnAl_2O_4$ at $1100^{\circ}C{\sim}1300^{\circ}C$. $Al_2O_3/Mo/MnO_2$ composite are manufactured by a selective reduction process in which Mo is only reduced in the powder mixture of $Al_2O_3,\;MoO_3\;and\;MnO_2$ oxide. For $Al_2O_3/Mo$ composite, the average grain size was not changed with increasing Mo content because of inhibition of grain growth of $Al_2O_3$ matrix in the presence of Mo particles. Fracture strength increased with increasing Mo content due to phenomenon of grain growth inhibition of $Al_2O_3$ matrix. Hardness decreased because of a lower hardness value of Mo, whereas fracture toughness increased. For $Al_2O_3,\;Mo\;and\;MnO_2$ composite, grain growth was facilitated by MnOB and it showed a lower fracture strength because of grain growth effect with increasing Mo and $MnO_2$ content. Hardness decreased because of the grain growth of matrix and coalesced Mo particles to be located in grain boundary, whereas fracture toughness increased.
Purpose: In this study, brazing characteristics of $ZrO_2$ and Ti-6Al-4V brazed joints with increasing temperature were investigated. Materials and methods: The sample size of the $ZrO_2$ was $3mm{\times}3mm{\times}3mm$ (thickness), and Ti-6Al-4V was $10mm(diameter){\times}5mm(thickness)$. The filler metal consisted of Ag-Cu-Sn-Ti was prepared in powder form. The brazing sample was heated in a vacuum furnace under $5{\times}10^{-6}$ torr atmosphere, while the brazing temperature was changed from 700 to $800^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. Results: The experimental results shows that brazed joint of $ZrO_2$ and Ti-6Al-4V occurred at $700-800^{\circ}C$. Brazed joint consisted of Ag-rich matrix and Cu-rich phase. A Cu-Ti intermetallic compounds and a Ti-Sn-Cu-Ag alloy were produced along the Ti-6Al-4V bonded interface. Thickness of the reacted layer along the Ti-6Al-4V bonded interface was increased with brazing temperature. Defect ratios of $ZrO_2$ and Ti-6Al-4V bonded interfaces decreased with brazing temperature. Conclusion: Thickness and defect ratio of brazed joints were decreased with increasing temperature. Zirconia was not wetting with filler metal, because the reaction between $ZrO_2$ and Ti did not occur enough.
This study was carried out to develop the powdered Katsuobushi (a kind of boiled, smoked, and dried fish product which is used for seasoning soup as it is.) using skipjack as a natural flavoring substance. The processing conditions of the powdered Katsuobushi and the changes of taste compounds during processing of the products were examined. In preparation of the powdered Katsuobushl, frozen skipjack was thawed, beheaded, gutted, filleted and then sliced to 1cm of thickness. The silted meats were boiled in skipjack extract for 20 minutes, and then it was smoked for, 3 times to $10\~12\%$ moisture content at $80^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours. The smoked - dried meats were followed to be 50 mesh of particle size. The effect of slicing and boiling in skipjack meat extract on enhancing flavor and on preventing lipid oxidation of product during processing were observed. The moisture content and crude lipid content of the powdered Katsuobushi was in the range of 11 to $12\%$ and 4.3 to $4.8\%$, respectively. The taste compounds of the product were nucleotides and their related compounds, 1135.8mg/100g ; free amino acid and related compounds, 2210.2mg/100g ; non-volatile organic acids, 1148.0mg/100g ; and total creatinine. 592.1mg/100g on dry basis, and small amount of betaine and TMAO. The major elements of mineral in the product were found to be K, Mg, Na, and Ca. The content of IMP was 542.0mg/100g, and major free amino acids were found to be histidine, anserine, taurine, carnosine and alanine of which occupied to $83.6\%$ of total free amino acids. In non -volatile organic acids, major ones were lactic acid, succinic acid, pyroglutamic acid and $\alpha-ketoglutaric$ acid. From the results of the chemical experiments and sensory evaluation, we may conclude that the flavor of the product from present experiment is more desirable than that of conventional products although the processing time used were much shortened than that of conventional method, and it can be commercialized as a seasoning powder.

The physicochemical properties of spray-dried rice flour with Lactobacillus plantarum CGKW3 were investigated. Amylose and damaged starch contents of spray-dried rice flour (S10, S20, S30, and S50) with L. plantarum CGKW3 were 14.18~17.75% and 24.65~34.08%, respectively. The particle size of spray-dried rice flour was $82.28{\sim}131.17{\mu}m$. The rice flour with L. plantarum CGKW3 showed a good powder flowability. The water absorption and water solubility of spray-dried rice flour were 1.96~2.13 and 9.91~21.95%, respectively. Thermal properties measured by differential scanning calorimeter revealed that the enthalpy (${\Delta}H$) for starch gelatinization were highest in the rice flour (S50) with L. plantarum CGKW3. When compared, the viable cell number of spray-dried rice flour were found to be in the following order: S10 (5.78 log CFU/g) < S20 (6.38 log CFU/g) < S30 (6.69 log CFU/g) < S50 (7.11 log CFU/g). The survaival rate of L. plantarum CGKW3 was 60.02-73.85%, which reflected the improvement in the quality of rice flour with an increase in treatment concentration. Based on our results, spray-dried rice flour with L. plantarum CGKW3 could be used in various types of rice foods.
This study was to examine the physicochemical characteristics of coagulation reaction between ignited oyster shell powder (IOSP) and red tide organisms (RTO), and its feasibility, in developing a technology for the removal of RTO bloom in coastal sea,IOSP was made from oyster shell and its physicochemical characteristics were examined for particle size distribution, surface characteristic by scanning electron microscope, zeta potential, and alkalinity and pH variations in sea water. Two kinds of RTO that were used in this study, Cylindrotheca closterium and Skeletonema costatum, were sampled in Masan bay and were cultured in laboratory. Coagulation experiments were conducted using various c(Incentrations of IOSP, RTO, and a jar tester. The supernatant and RTO culture solution were analyzed for pH, alkalinity, RTO cell number, IOSP showed positive zeta potentials of $11.1{\~}50.1\;mV\;at\;pH\;6.2{\~}12.7$, A positive zeta potential of IOSP slowly decreased with decreasing pNa 4,0 to 2,0. When pNa reached zero, the zeta potential approached zero, When a pMg value was decreased, the positive zeta potential of IOSP increased until pMg 3.0 and decreased below pMg 3.0. IOSP showed 4.8 mV of positive zeta potential while RTO showed -9.2 mV of negative zeta potential in sea water. A positive-negative EDL (electrical double-layer) interaction occurred between $Mg(OH)_2$ adsorption layer of IOSP and RTO in sea water so that EDL attractive force always worked between them. Hence, their coagulation reaction occurred at primary minimum on which an extreme attractive force acted because of charge neutralization by $Mg(OH)_2$ adsorption layer of IOSP. As a result, the coagulation reaction was rapidly processed and was irreversible according to DLVO (Deriaguin-Landau-Verwey-Overbeek) theory. Removal rates of RTO were exponentially increased with increasing both IOSP concentration and G-value. The removal rates were steeply increased until 50 mg/l of IOSP and reached $100{\%}\;at\;400\;mg/l$ of IOSP. Removal rates of RTO were $70.5,\;70.5,\;81.7,\;85.3{\%}$ for G-values of $1,\;6,\;29,\;139\;sec^(-1)$at IOSP 100 mg/l, respectively. This indicated that mixing (i.e., collision among particles) was very important for a coagulation reaction.
