Objective : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of a community based group exercise intervention on motor functional capacity. To evaluate the immediate(post-treatment) effects after 6-weeks exercise program on the group exercise intervention(PNF and Circuit exercise). Methods : Subjects-Included persons with stroke who were living in the community. Thirty-seven subjects were randomly assigned to the PNF, Circuit exercise and control group participated in a repeated measures design that evaluated the subjects with pre-treatment, post-treatment(6 weeks). Functional ability outcome measures assessed the motor assessment scale(MAS) and EMG. Both treatment groups participated in exercise cJass three times a week for 6 weeks. Group programs focused on balance, functional motor capacity and walking ability. The PNF program was modified PNF pattem and techniques with emphasis on functional tasks when possible, as well as stretching of the more affected limb particularly in the more affected shoulder. The Circuit program with subjects completing practice at a selies of work station as well as participating in walking races and relay with other members of the group. Results : Compared with the control group, the treatment group had larger improvements in the motor function ability after 6 weeks treatment and Post-treatment test scores were more significant than the pre-treatment score. 1. Motor function were assessed by using MAS, sit to stand, walking and upper function were assessed pre-treatment versus post-treatment measures revealed a statically significant(p<.05). There were significant differences between the groups. Compared with the control group, the treatment group had larger improvements. 2. In the treatment groups, demonstrated difference in the electromyographic activation of biceps, triceps, quadriceps and tibialis anterior muscles on the paretic side in the response to the reaching arm movement and stepping motion in stance. The difference in muscle activation improvement were not statically significant. Conclusion : The results of this study showed that the PNF and Circuit group exercise intervention can improve motor functional ability. This study suggests that the PNF and Circuit exercise programs is appropriate for community-based group exercise principles. It leads to gain and maintain potential function for disabled persons after stroke in the community.
PURPOSE. To evaluate the effects of hydrogen peroxide pretreatment and heat activation of silane on the shear bond strength of fiber-reinforced composite posts to resin cement. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The specimens were prepared to evaluate the bond strength of epoxy resin-based fiber posts (D.T. Light-Post) to dual-curing resin cement (RelyX U200). The specimens were divided into four groups (n=18) according to different surface treatments: group 1, no treatment; group 2, silanization; group 3, silanization after hydrogen peroxide etching; group 4, silanization with warm drying at $80^{\circ}C$ after hydrogen peroxide etching. After storage of the specimens in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours, the shear bond strength (in MPa) between the fiber post and resin cement was measured using a universal testing machine. The fractured surface of the fiber post was examined using scanning electron microscopy. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and post-hoc analysis with Tukey's HSD test (${\alpha}=0.05$). RESULTS. Silanization of the fiber post (Group 2) significantly increased the bond strength in comparison with the non treated control (Group 1) (P<.05). Heat drying after silanization also significantly increased the bond strength (Group 3 and 4) (P<.05). However, no effect was determined for hydrogen peroxide etching before applying silane agent (Group 2 and 3) (P>.05). CONCLUSION. Fiber post silanization and subsequent heat treatment ($80^{\circ}C$) with warm air blower can be beneficial in clinical post cementation. However, hydrogen peroxide etching prior to silanization was not effective in this study.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate of the color change, tooth surface and intra-pulpal temperature of tooth bleaching by light activation Methods : Forty-eight extracted bovine teeth were immersed into a tea solution for 24 hours. The specimens were randomly divided into four groups(n=15):(G1) 15% HP + without light activation, (G2) 15% HP + light activation, (G3) 25% HP + without light activation, (G4) 25% HP + light activation. All specimens were bleached for 15 minutes three times. The spectrophotometer (CM-2600d, Konica Minolta, Osaka, Japan) was used including before bleaching, immediately after bleaching, 1 week, 1 and 3 months after the end of bleaching. The temperature rise were measured in the pulpal chamber and tooth surface with a digital thermocouple thermometer(Termopar Digital Multimeter, Tektronix DMM916, USA). Between the tested time points, the specimens were stored in distilled water. The data were analyzed by ANOVA, t-test and Tukey's post hoc test set at 0.05. Results : There was no significant color change by the use of light after the bleaching treatment(p>0.05). The dental bleaching treatments of teeth with 15% HP and 25% HP did not seem to be more effective when light source was used. There was no difference in color stability between groups within three month(p>0.05). There was an increase in tooth surface and pulp temperature, but it was not sufficient to cause damage to the pulp. Conclusions :The use of light activation has no obvious effective impact on the tooth bleaching effect.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of electrical stimulation applied in dominant forearm on autonomic nervous system response of both hands. Methods : Fourteen healthy subjects (women) received low frequency-high intensity electrical stimulation to one forearm. The subjects assigned to two groups; a ipsilateral stimulation group (n=7) and a contralateral stimulation group (n=7). The electrode attachment was arranged on the forearm of the dominant arm and the electricity stimulus time was set as 15 minutes. Measuring items were the skin conduction velocity, the blood flow, and the pulse rate, which were measured total 3 times (pre, post, and post 10 min.). Results : The skin conduction velocity showed a significant difference according to the change of the time in both hands, but there was no significant difference according to time in the blood flow, and the change of the pulse frequency regardless of stimulus side. Conclusion : These results demonstrate that the low frequency-high intensity electrical stimulation applied dominant forearm can increase selectively only with the skin conduction velocity, which may be helpful for the activation of the sudomotor function of both hands by the activation of sympathetic nerve.

Application of electrical stimulation in the red meat species (eg. beef and sheep) processing has been erratic around the world and this may reflect an incomplete knowledge of how to optimise the technology. Although it is well established that stimulation increases the rate of post-mortem glycolysis other biochemical and biophysical effects have been implicated with the use of this technology. On the basis of currently available knowledge, this mini-review seeks to examine the current theories about the effect of stimulation on post-mortem muscle. The classical view that stimulation prevents muscle from shortening excessively during rigor development has been expanded to include the possibility that it also results in physical disruption of muscle structure. The interaction of these effects with the acceleration of the rate of proteolysis through activation of the calpain protease system has not been comprehensively reviewed in the past. As a result of conclusion driven, this article highlights several areas that may prove fruitful for further research. The challenge for further development of electrical stimulation systems is optimisation of the activation of the enzyme systems in parallel with manipulation of chilling regimes so as to ensure rigor mortis is achieved at temperatures which minimise shortening. The potential of regional stimulation of sections of the carcass to achieve this outcome is worthy of study given the different fibre composition of muscles and temperature gradients.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to determine how biofeedback training with Shaker exercise effects the activation of the cervical myocardial muscle in stroke with swallowing disorder. METHODS: From June 2018 to September 2018, 30 patients who were hospitalized at C hospital and K hospital in Daegu, and K hospital in Gumi were surveyed to meet the criteria for selection. The participants were classified into three groups, and Shaker exercise was applied three times a day, five times a week, for four weeks; visuoauditory biofeedback group (VABG), visual biofeedback group (VBG), and self-exercises group (SG). In addition, the suprahyoid muscle activity was performed three times (before intervention, after intervention, and after two weeks). RESULTS: The pre and post-test comparisons, revealed a significant difference between the three groups (p<.01); VABG had the highest suprahyoid muscle activity. The post-test and follow-up test produced similar results in, the three groups (p>.05). The mean comparison showed the smallest difference in VABG, indicating that muscle persistence was the best. CONCLUSION: Shaker exercise has an effect on suprahyoid muscle activation. Biofeedback training, which provides an input of multi-sensory information in swallowing disorder treatment is recommended because it has the greatest effect when combined with visuoauditory biofeedback.

A carbon felt electrode was prepared using ozone and ammonia sequential treatment and applied as an electrode for a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB). The physical and electrochemical analyses demonstrate that the oxygen groups facilitate nitrogen doping in the carbon felt. Carbon felt (J5O3+NH3), which was subjected to ammonia heat treatment after ozone treatment, showed higher oxygen and nitrogen contents than carbon felt (J5NH3+O3), which was subjected to ammonia heat treatment first and then ozone treatment. From the charging/discharging of VRFB, the J5O3+NH3 carbon felt electrode showed 14.4 Ah/L discharge capacity at a current density of 150 mA /cm2, which was 15% and 33% higher than that of J5NH3+O3 and non-activated carbon felt (J5), respectively. These results show that ozone and ammonia sequential treatment is an effective carbon felt activation method to increase the performance of the vanadium redox flow battery.

The electrical properties of the GaN-based green light emitting diodes(LEDs) with the Mg-doped p-GaN layer activated in $N_2$ or $O_2$ ambient have been compared. For the $N_2$ -ambient activation the current-voltage behavior of LEDs has been found to be improved when the Mg dopants activation was performed in the higher temperature. However, for the $O_2$-ambient activation the current-voltage characteristic has been observed to be enhanced when the Mg dopants activation was carried out in the lower temperature. The minimum forward voltage at 20mA was obtained to be 4.8 V for LEDs with the p-GaN layer activated at $900^{\circ}C$ in the $N_2$ ambient and 4.5V for LEDs with the p-GaN layer treated at $700^{\circ}C$ in the $O_2$ambient, repectively. The forward voltage reduction of the LEDs treated in the $O_2$-ambient may be related to the oxygen co-doping of the p-GaN layer during the activation process. The $O_2$ -ambient activation process is useful for the enhancement of the LED performance as well as the fabrication process since this process can activate the Mg dopants in the low temperature.
The present study was undertaken to examine the critical effect of $Ca^2$+ concentration on electrostimulation and post-electrostimulation media for electric activation of in vitro matured oocytes of Korean Native Cattle. Oocytes collected from slaughterhouse ovaries were matured in TCM 199 containing FSH, estradiol-17$\beta$ and FBS with granulosa cell monolayer for 24 hours and denuded with hyaluronidase. And then cumulus-free oocytes were submitted to a DC field of 1.0 kV/cm for 60 $\mu$sec in electroporation media(0.28 M mannito' and PBS) with different $Ca^2$+ concentations (0.00, 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 mM). Stimulated oocytes were stained and examined for pronuclear formation after incuhation in SOF for 12 hours. The rates of pronuclear formation in hovine oocytes electrically stimulated in 0.28 M mannitol with 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 mM $Ca^2$+(60.3, 82.2 and 75.0%) were significantly higher than without $Ca^2$+(6.3%) at 12 hours after an electric pulse(p<0.005). The activation rates of Korean Native Cattle oocytes stimulated in PBS supplemented with 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 mM $Ca^2$+(71.0, 75.8 and 75.4%) were significantly higher than without $Ca^2$+(23.5%) after post-stimulation incubation(p<0.005). After incubation of oocytes in SOF with and without $Ca^2$+ following electric stimulation in 0.28 M mannitol with 0.10 mM $Ca^2$+, the rates of pronuclear formation of bovine oocytes in $Ca^2$+-free SOF(85.7%) was significantly higher than in SOF with 1.71 mM $Ca^2$+(62.5%, p<0.05). When oocytes were stimulated in two electrostimulation media supplemented with $Ca^2$+ and incubated in $Ca^2$+-free SOF, there were no significant differences in the rates of pronuclear formation hetween 0.28 M mannitol and PBS. These results indicate that a single electric pulse could induce activation of Korea Native Cattle oocytes in 0.28 M mannitol and PBS supplemented with $Ca^2$+. Furthermore, to improve the activation rates, it was hetter that stimulated oocytes were incubated in $Ca^2$+-free SOF after electric stimulation than in SOF with $Ca^2$+.
A finite element model development of a 50th percentile male cervical spine is presented in this paper. The model consists of rigid, geometrically accurate vertebrae held together with deformable intervertibral disks, facet joints, and ligaments modeled as a series of nonlinear springs. These deformable structures were rigorously tuned, through failure, to mimic existing experimental data; first as functional unit characterizations at three cervical levels and then as a fully assembled c-spine using the experimental data from Duke University and other data in the NHTSA database. After obtaining satisfactory validation of the performance of the assembled ligamentous cervical spine against available experimental data, 22 cervical muscle pairs, representing the majority of the neck's musculature, were added to the model. Hill's muscle model was utilized to generate muscle forces within the assembled cervical model. The muscle activation level was assumed to be the same for all modeled muscles and the degree of activation was set to correctly predict available human volunteer experimental data from NBDL. The validated model is intended for use as a post processor of dummy measurement within the simulated injury monitor (SIMon) concept being developed by NHTSA where measured kinematics and kinetic data obtained from a dummy during a crash test will serve as the boundary conditions to "drive" the finite element model of the neck. The post-processor will then interrogate the model to determine whether any ligament have exceeded its known failure limit. The model will allow a direct assessment of potential injury, its degree and location thus eliminating the need for global correlates such as Nij.
