A Study on the Effect of Job-stress on Job Satisfaction of Nursing Care Workers in cSeoul-type Day Care Center : Focusing on the Moderating effect of Ego-resiliency (서울형 데이케어센터 요양보호사의 직무스트레스가 직무만족에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 : 자아탄력성을 조절변인으로)

  • In order to verify that the ego-resiliency regulates the effect of nursing care workers job stress on the job satisfaction, this research ascertained the effect of job stress of the nursing care workers working at Seoul-type Day Care Center and confirmed the moderating effect of ego-resiliency on the process where nursing care workers job stress affects the job satisfaction. A survey of 256 employees at 28 Seoul-type Day Care Centers were conducted on job stress, job satisfaction, and ego-resiliency, and 138 nursing care workers were analyzed. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS PROCESS Macro, which was presented by SPSS 25.0 and Hayes. The results of the study are as follows. First, nursing care workers had higher job stress and lower job satisfaction compared to other job groups. Second, job stress identified the negative effect job satisfaction. Third, ego-resiliency confirmed positive moderating effect between job stress and job satisfaction.

The influence of nursing organizational commitment and job satisfaction on intention of resignation of clinical nurses (병임상간호사의 간호조직몰입과 직무만족이 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of nursing organizational commitment and job satisfaction on intention of resignation of clinical nurses. The subjects of this study were clinical nurses who were working at general hospitals in Pusan and Taegu in Korea. The questionnaires were sent to 850 clinical nurses at 8 general hospitals and 790(92%) answers were replied. Data were collected from Oct. 4 to Oct. 30. The instruments of this study were scales for the measurement of nursing orgainzational commitment, job satisfaction and intention of resignation of clinical nurses. The Cronbach ${\alpha}s$ of the scales were .9385, .9232, .6847. After screening of data, 769 cases were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 10.0 program. The results of the study were as followings: 1. Average score of the nursing organizational commitment, job satisfaction and intention of resignation of the subjects were 48.50, 50.23 and 12.20. 2. There were significant differences in nursing organizational commitment, job satisfaction and intention of resignation by age, marital status, religions, education level, position, career, and work place. 3.   • This study is to provide the basic sources to develop educational data that can establish ethical values with research on the interrelation between moral development and ethical values of nurses. The subjects of this study are the convenience sample from 111 nurses working in clinical settings from 5 general hospitals located in Pusan area. The questionnairs for this study are comprised two parts: Part 1 is SRM-SF(1995) guestionnaire, and translated by Kil, 1m Ju(1997): Part 2 is the guestion papers about the ethical values, and disigned by Jung, Hee Ja. The data were collected from June lth to 31th, 1997 and analyzed by S.A.S(Statistical Analysis System) Package for frequency, percent, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of the study is as the followings: 1) According to the moral development. the nurses are in the levels of Stage3 or Transition3/4, which are generally focused on the personal relations or personality. Thus, nurses are considered to need to get the stage4 of education that helps them recognize a person as a member of society. a family as an unit of society, and human life as the values of human dignity. 2) According to the ethical values, nurses have the positive ethical values of respecting the right of the patients, providing information, keeping the secret, truth. and credit of patients. But they also experience some troubles by the patients to care and the clinical situation. Thus, to overcome the problems, nurses are considered to need to get the education that establishs the right ethical values. 3) The analysis result on the interrelation between moral development level and ethical values shows as r=0.28 and p=0.003. This indicates that the interrelation between them is low. In conclusion, it is considered that the moral development level is viewed broadly from a person and family to a society, and then it can affect to the ethical values positively.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the role conflict and ways of copying of nurses as underwriters worked at life insurance companies in Korea. Method: The subjects were 141 underwriters who were working at 4 major life insurance companies in Korea. For finding the role conflicts, Role conflict and Ambiguity scale developed by Rizzo, House & Lirtzman(1970) was used, For the ways of coping, Ways of coping scale developed by Lazarus et al. (1984) was used. The statistical method used were mean, percentage, t-test, ANOVA and Turkey test by SAS program. Result: The mean of role conflict was 2.76, and its subcategories were intersender conflict 2.95, sequential order interrole conflict 3.13, interarole conflict 2.69, organizational conflict 2.69, ambiguity from the outcome or responses to one's behavior 2.60, ambiguity from clarity of behavior requirements 2.61. The mean of ways of coping was 2.42 and its subcategories were problem focused 2.42, wishful thinking 2.26, detachment 2.09, seeking social support 2.49, focusing positive 2.72, tension reduction 2.08. There is statistically significant difference between single and married person i.e, single was high than married about role conflict. And also there is statistically significant difference among religion groups i.e., christian was high than none about ways of copying. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that nurses as underwriters' role conflicts and ways of coping were different that of clinical nurses' and examining medical insurance nurses', Therefore it need more detail repeat studies.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the mediating effect of nursing organization culture in the process of emotional labor of nurses to turnover intention. The subjects were 363 nurses working at general hospitals at G city and analyzed using SPSS 21.0 from October 17, 2017 to October 31, 2017. As a result of research, relationship-oriented culture and innovation-oriented culture partially mediated the relationship between emotional labor frequency and turnover intention in relation to emotional labor and turnover intention. The results of this study show that the importance of nursing organizational culture to improve the organization's smooth relationship and cohesion can be lowered by creating a positive correlation with desirable emotional expression. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an organizational culture by applying educational programs to reduce the turnover rate of new nurses and career programs for career nurses.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of organizational culture on job satisfaction and to explore the moderating effect of locus of control. The study examined adhocracy culture among organizational cultures and divided into internals and externals for moderating effect of locus of control. The data analysis was used to SAS Ver 9.4 and PLS Ver 3.0. The test was conducted by 283 employees working at large, small-medium company and public enterprise in Mongolia. The results indicate that the positive adhocracy culture and job satisfaction were statistically supported. And this study found that internals moderating roles in the relationship between adhocracy culture and job satisfaction. Based on the findings of this study, the study presented managerial implications and suggestions for future studies.

The Influence of Teacher Efficacy and Stress Coping Strategies on Job Satisfaction of Teachers in Early Childhood Education and Care (영유아교사의 교사효능감과 스트레스 대처방식이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of teacher efficacy and stress coping strategies on job satisfaction of teachers in early childhood education and care. 189 teachers were recruited from 8 day care centers and 10 kindergartens in Seoul, Kyunggi, Kyungbuk, and Chonbuk provinces in Korea. Data were analyzed through frequencies, Pearson's correlations, and the stepwise regression analyses using PASW 18.0. The findings are as follows. First, the result showed that teachers in ECEC were most likely to be satisfied with their job characteristics most among the 4 subcategories in job satisfaction. They also perceived their the ability of discipline high for teacher efficacy, and used the direct coping strategy most as a stress coping strategy. Second, the teachers' ability to create a positive learning atmosphere affected job characteristics, the ability to participate in decision-making affected the relationship with director and colleagues, working environment, welfare and salary the most. Third, the direct coping strategy had the most impacts on all subcategories of job satisfaction. The results of this study may provide basic data for finding effective way to increase job satisfaction of teachers in ECEC.

Impact of Vocational Training on Wages of Ethnic Minority Labors in Vietnam

  • This research investigates the impact of vocational training on wages of ethnic minority labors in emerging countries; Vietnam is the case study. The study uses secondary data from 2014 to 2018 collected through Vietnam Household Living Standards Surveys (VHLSS) conducted by the General Statistics Office. In order to analyze the impact of vocational training on wages of ethnic minority areas in Vietnam, this research creates ethnic area variables. According to Vietnamese regulations, ethnic areas are communes of 51 different provinces, inhabited by ethnic minority people. The statistics from VHLSS in 2018, show that the proportion of labors of working age with a certificate was 22.5%. The research employs Heckman Sample Selection Model to estimate the impact of vocation training on wage of labors in ethnic minority areas. The results show that vocational training plays a crucial role in improving the wages of ethnic minorities and has a positive impact. However, apart from the achieved outcomes, vocational training and job creation for ethnic minorities are not without limitations and shortcomings. Based on the findings, some recommendations to ethnic minority labors, enterprises and the Government are proposed to encourage participation in vocational training for the purpose of promoting the efficiency of the labor market.

A Study of Nurses' Knowledge, Attitude and Practice Regarding Medical Waste (Busan and Kyongnam Province University Hospitals) (간호사의 의료폐기물에 대한 지식, 태도 및 실천에 관한 연구(부산, 경남지역 대학병원을 중심으로))

  • Objectives : As a descriptive study, the present research investigated the knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding medical waste and factors influencing these variables, based on nurses working at university hospitals in Busan and Gyoengnam provinces. Methods : The 508 participants were selected from five university hospitals in Busan and Kyongnam provinces and consented to participate in the study between June 1 and July 15, 2016. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 23.0 based on descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Person correlation coefficients, and hierarchical analysis. Results : The average scores for knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding medical waste among the participants were 15.88 (1.71), 4.38 (0.45), and 4.24 (0.40) respectively. When the scores for the knowledge and attitude related to medical waste were higher, the score for practice (r=.500, p<.001) increased, and the most influential factor on practice regarding medical waste was attitude toward medical waste (${\beta}=.45$, p<.001). Conclusions : Thus, to reinforce a positive attitude toward medical waste management, continuous education and a systematic approach to minimize health and environmental hazards are needed.

The Influence of Job Stress and Ego-Resilience on Nursing Performance New Nurse In Secondary Hospitals (2차 병원 신규간호사의 직무스트레스와 자아탄력성이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • This is an explanatory study to figure out the relationship job stress, the ego-resilience, and nursing performance of new nurses. The data were collected from 198 new nurses who have been working for 6-12 months in six secondary hospitals in province from February 16 to April 30, 2016. The degree of nursing performance were found to be high and the degree of job stress and ego-resilience were found to be middle. There was negative correlation between job stress and nursing performance. There was positive correlation between ego-resilience and nursing performance. Factors influencing nursing performance were ego-resilience, job stress, Motivation to choose nursing which explained 33.6% of the variance. It is suggested to highlight the importance of the nursing performance and to develop and execute the nursing intervention program for enhancing the ego-resilience of new nurses.
