The Importance of Consultation for Employee Welfare : Qualitative Textual Analysis

  • Purpose: The primary objectives of this research are: (1) To examine the current situation of employee welfare in diverse workplace settings. (2) To explore and identify the different challenges that affect employees' overall well-being. (3) To examine and establish the importance of consultation as a strategic tool in addressing these challenges and enhancing employee welfare. Research design, data and methodology: The first step of the research design is the identification of databases, search terms, and filters. A thorough search will be conducted across respectable academic databases, journals, and pertinent sources using keywords and controlled vocabulary about consultation, employee welfare, and related concepts. The next step is full-text assessment, which verifies compliance with the research question and assesses the caliber of the methodology. Results: According to the previous evidence, the significant benefits of effective consultation for employee welfare have been highlighted: 1. positive impact on productivity in the workplace, 2. Effective consultation Improves employee's engagement, 3. Effective consultation Increases employee retention, and 4. Effective consultation facilitates trust in a corporate communication. Conclusions: The study has identified four main advantages: enhanced productivity, enhanced engagement, increased retention, and enhanced trustbuilding. These findings provide insightful information for practitioners looking to foster positive workplace cultures and improve organizational success.

빅데이터를 활용한 『페스트』(알베르 카뮈) 비대면 문학 강의 운영 사례 연구 (A Case Study of Untact Lecture on Albert Camus' La Peste using Big Data)

  • 포스트코로나 시대에 인기가 급상승한 알베르 카뮈의 『페스트』를 빅데이터 분석 도구를 활용하여 전공 강의와 교양 강의에 활용해 보았다. 먼저, 프랑스어 전공 학생들에게는 400여 페이지에 달하는 작품 원문을 빅데이터로 분석하여 어휘의 활용과 등장인물의 등장 횟수를 비교해보도록 하였다. 그 결과를 통해 카뮈의 부조리철학과 『페스트』 작품 속 어휘들이 유사관계를 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 등장인물 또한 저항적 인물들의 비중이 빈번하다는 것을 확인하게 되었다. 교양과목의 학생들에게는 한글번역본으로 작품을 읽게 하여 어휘빈도와 등장인물의 출현 빈도를 확인하도록 하였다. 학생들은 코로나 전염병과 페스트 전염병 사이의 공통점을 통해 『페스트』에 대해 크게 공감하였고, 빅데이터 분석도구를 활용했다는 점에 대해서도 수업만족도가 높았다. 학생들은 『페스트』라는 작품선택에 있어서도, 빅데이터라는 4차 산업혁명의 주요 도구에 대해서도 크게 호응하였다. 문학작품을 전통적 방법에 의존하지 않고 현 세태를 반영하여 강의한다면 비대면 상황에서도 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

교사의 그림책 읽기 상호작용 유형에 따른 영아의 언어발달 비교 (A Comparative Study on Toddler's Language Development by Teachers' Types of Interaction during Reading of Picture Books)

  • This study investigated differences in toddlers' language development depending on their teachers' types of interaction during reading of picture books. A pilot study identified teachers' types of interaction as instructional, non-immediate, and passive. Fifteen teachers recruited from 10 child-care centers located in Seoul and their 90 2-year-old toddlers participated in this study. Teachers read two picture books to a small group of toddlers each week for eight weeks. Data on the toddlers' receptive and expressive language, vocabulary, reading behavior, and book handling were collected and compared by their teachers' interaction type before and after teachers' 8-week reading of picture books. Results showed that teachers using the non-immediate interaction type had the most positive effects on toddlers' language development.

내러티브 발달 : 유아의 이야기 내용이해 및 꾸미기 능력간의 관계 분석 (The Relationship Between Young Children's Comprehension Ability and Story Making : The Development of Narrative)

  • This study investigated the relationship between young children's comprehension and story making(narrative) by age and gender. Subjects were 109 3-, 4-, and 5-year-olds at two child care centers in K Province. Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA and simple regression analysis. Results showed differences in comprehension between 3-, 4- and 5-year old children and differences in story making ability between 3- and 5-year-old children. Children's comprehension and story making had positive relationships. Specifically, there were significant relationships with children's comprehension and story construct concept, sentence structure level, language(vocabulary and sentence structure). In sum, the results of this study reveal that young children's comprehension ability is partially related to story making ability by age.

이중언어(한국어-영어)를 하는 아동의 언어능력발달에 관한 연구 (The Language Development of Bilingual Children Speaking Korean and English)

  • This study compared the English and the Korean receptive competency of bilingual children with that of English and Korean monolingual children, respectively. The relation between English and Korean receptive competency of bilingual children was examined by age and gender. Subjects were 27 bilingual, 30 Korean monolingual, 24 English monolingual children. They were administered the revised form of the Peabody Pictures Vocabulary Test in Korean and English versions. Results show that bilingual children's Korean receptive competency is lower than those who spoke only Korean, and bilingual children's English receptive competency was a little lower than those who spoke only English, but the difference narrowerd with age. The relation between Korean and English competency in bilingual children was negative in 4- and 5-year-olds but became positive in 6-year-olds. This study shows that the two points-of-view on bilingual language development should be applied differently depending on children's age.

학령전기 아동의 심적 표상 : 부모에 대한 심적 표상과의 관계를 중심으로 (MENTAL REPRESENTATION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN:ASSOCIATION WITH PARENTAL MENTAL REPRESENTATION)

  • 자기보고 능력이 부족하다고 알려진 학령전기 아동의 임상 평가는 외부관찰자의 보고에 의존하는 점이 많고 아동 자신의 내적인 경험, 생각, 감정에 대한 직접적인 평가가 어렵다. 본 연구에서는 놀이 상황에서 학령전기 아동의 내적 마음의 표상을 알아보기 위해 개발된 MacArthur Story-Stem Battery(MSSB)를 사용하여 정상 아동의 내적 마음의 표상의 발달에 대한 연구를 시행하여 학령전기 아동의 임상 평가에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 본 연구는 만 3세부터 7세까지의 정상 아동 55명(남아 32명, 여아 23명)에서 MSSB, 언어평가(Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test-Revised), 지능평가를 시행하고 비디오로 녹화하여 분석하였으며 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 정서적인 갈등 상황을 설정한 놀이에서 아동들은 비전형적 부정적 반응, 보상/죄의식, 처벌, 개인적 상해 등의 부정적인 정신적 표상이 흔히 표현되었다. 2) 부모에 대한 정신적 표상은 긍정적 표상, 훈육적 표상, 부정적 표상의 순으로 표현되었다. 3) MSSB 내용 주제요인 분석 결과, 비전형적 부정적 반응, 공격성, 개인적 상해, 배제로 묶이는 공격적 주제, 애정, 제휴, 죄의식/보상으로 묶이는 친사회적 주제, 처벌과 불복종으로 묶이는 반항적 주제 세 가지로 나타났다. 4) 부모에 대한 정신적 표상과 MSSB 내용 주제와의 상관관계를 살펴보면, 부모에 대한 긍정적 표상은 친사회적 주제와(r=0.40), 부정적 표상은 공격적 주제와(r=0.52) 그리고 훈육적 표상은 반항적 주제와(r=0.75) 유의미한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 5) 부모에 대한 정신적 표상과 MSSB 정서 반응과의 상관관계를 살펴보면, 부모에 대한 긍정적 정신적 표상과 불안 사이에 유의미한 부적 상관관계(r=-0.43)를 보였다. 6) MSSB 내용 주제와 정서 반응사이의 상관관계를 살펴보면, 공격적 주제(r=0.28)와 반항적 주제(r=0.29)는 고통의 감정 반응과 유의미한 양적 상관관계를 보였고 친사회적 주제는 근심(r=-0.29), 불안(r=-0.43)과 유의미한 부적 상관관계를 보였다. 이상의 결과에 의하면 정서적인 갈등을 야기하는 놀이 상황에서 학령전기 아동들은 부정적인 정신적 표상을 흔히 보였으며 부모들은 자신들을 도와주는 긍정적인 표상으로 나타남을 알 수 있다. 또한 공격적 주제를 많이 보이는 아동들은 부정적인 정서 반응과 부모에 대해 부정적인 정신적 표상을 많이 나타냄을 알 수 있다.

영어 청해력 향상을 위한 효율적인 학습 지도 방안 (A study of an effective teaching of listening comprehension)

  • Listening comprehension can be defined as a process of an integrative, positive and creative activity through which listeners get the message of speakers' production using linguistic or non-linguistic redundancy as well as linguistic or non-linguistic knowledge. Compared with reading comprehension, it has many difficulties especially for foreigners. while it can be transferred to the other skills: speaking, reading, writing. With this said, listening comprehension can be taught effectively using the following teaching strategies. First. systematic and intensive instruction of segmental phonemes, suprasegmental phonemes and sound changes must be given to remove the difficulties of listening comprehension concerned with the identification of sounds. Second, vocabulary drill through various games and other activities is absolutely needed until words can be unconsciously recognized. Without this, comprehension is almost impossible. Third, instruction of sentence structures is thought to be essential considering grammar is supplementary to listening comprehension and reading comprehension for academic purpose. So grammar translation drills, mechanical drills, meaningful drills and communicative drills should be performed in succession with common or frequently used structures. Fourth, listening activities for overall comprehension should teach how to receive overall meaning of intended messages intact. Linguists and literatures have listed some specific activities as follows: Total Physical Response, dictation, role playing, singing songs, selective listening, picture recognition, list activities, completion, prediction, true or false choice, multiple choice, seeking of specific information, summarizing, problem-solving and decision-making, recognization of relationships between speakers, recognition of mood, attitude and behavior of speakers.

가상 캐릭터를 활용하여 아동의 구어 대화를 유도하는 대화형 에이전트 (Embodied Conversational Agent Using a Virtual Character to Induce Children's Verbal Communication)

  • Childhood verbal communication impacts children's language skills and has a positive effect as partners use more vocabulary. But reduction in family time, caused by lowered age for private education and so on, has reduced the chance for children to speak with partners who have a proficient language skill. This vacancy was naturally occupied by the media, which has become one of the cornerstones of the growth of kids' contents. Kids contents are making various attempts to expand the breadth of services. But most contents still focus on unilateral visual information delivery yet, so there is a limit to satisfy the vacancy of conversation partners. Therefore this paper suggests an ECA(Embodied conversational agent) to induce children's spoken conversation using a virtual character frequently used in kids contents. This system is implemented by the voice bot and agent model produced using an IBM assistant and Unity. As a result of using ECA for 66 children of 5-9 years old, it showed meaningful results in terms of induction of verbal communication.

Incorporation of Brainteaser Game in Basic Organic Chemistry Course to Enhance Students' Attitude and Academic Achievement

  • Game shows are capable of grabbing students' attention in a lecture, and at the same time offers much delight to students to learn in a more interesting and entertaining way. A mind game was developed and incorporated into the teaching of basic organic chemistry course at the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. The modified brainteaser game is comprised of a set of problems associated with vocabulary or concepts in basic organic chemistry, whereby students were required to solve within a stipulated time frame. Students' attitude changes were then evaluated with the administration of Attitude toward the Subject of Chemistry Inventory Version 2 (ASCIv2) questionnaire. The result of this study revealed that the intervention group experienced a significant change in attitude towards the course as compared to the control group. The intervention group also experienced a positive learning environment, resulting in an increased academic performance and interest.

인스타그램 해시태그를 이용한 사용자 감정 분류 방법 (A Method for User Sentiment Classification using Instagram Hashtags)

  • In recent times, studies sentiment analysis are being actively conducted by implementing natural language processing technologies for analyzing subjective data such as opinions and attitudes of users expressed on the Web, blogs, and social networking services (SNSs). Conventionally, to classify the sentiments in texts, most studies determine positive/negative/neutral sentiments by assigning polarity values for sentiment vocabulary using sentiment lexicons. However, in this study, sentiments are classified based on Thayer's model, which is psychologically defined, unlike the polarity classification used in opinion mining. In this paper, as a method for classifying the sentiments, sentiment categories are proposed by extracting sentiment keywords for major sentiments by using hashtags, which are essential elements of Instagram. By applying sentiment categories to user posts, sentiments can be determined through the similarity measurement between the sentiment adjective candidates and the sentiment keywords. The test results of the proposed method show that the average accuracy rate for all the sentiment categories was 90.7%, which indicates good performance. If a sentiment classification system with a large capacity is prepared using the proposed method, then it is expected that sentiment analysis in various fields will be possible, such as for determining social phenomena through SNS.
