Background: Understanding the history of human papilloma virus (HPV) infection is important for interpretation of a positive HPV DNA screening test, future work-up and treatment. We investigated the transition of HPV DNA test results in Korean women, and analyzed the association of cytology result with transition type. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively reviewed annual HPV DNA test results for 5,274 subjects between January 2005 and December 2012. Each subject had a minimum of five annual tests over the eight-year period. Based on the pattern of results, the transition type for each subject was assigned to one of the following: negative, persistent, latent, transient, and unclassifiable. Associations of cytology results with the HPV DNA transition types, number of positive results, and the durations of positive results were also analyzed. Results: The proportion of abnormal cytology findings decreased in the following order of transition patterns: persistent, latent, transient, and negative. Among transient patterns, a duration of three years or more significantly correlated with cytology results of non-high grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL; p<0.001). In the persistent group, duration of five years or more correlated with both non-HSIL and HSIL (p<0.001). Latent group showed no correlation with duration. Irrespective of patterns, having five or more positive results was significantly associated with HSIL (p<0.001). Conclusions: Our findings may contribute to better understanding of HPV infection, interpretation of HPV DNA screening results, and prediction of prognosis according to transition type.

The present study investigated Korean learners' knowledge on the range of possible interpretations of English locative PPs with manner of motion verbs, and considers whether learners can arrive at a superset L2 grammar on the basis of positive L2 input. Unlike Korean, some English locative PPs occurring with manner of motion verbs (such as in John jumped on the bed) are ambiguous as they can be interpreted as either directional or locational. Thirty Korean learners of English in three distinct groups (Advanced EFL-only group; Intermediate-EFL-only group; and ESL-experienced group) participated in an experimental study, along with a control group of nine native speakers of English. The results of the study showed that I) Korean learners, overall, tended to interpret English locative PPs as only locational, failing to recognize the ambiguity between the directional and locational readings in the target structure; 2) For the learners who experienced only the EFL context, even highly proficient learners, as well as intermediate level learners, failed to acknowledge the ambiguity; 3) The learners who experienced the ESL context for an extended period of time could identify the target reading to some extent, although they still could not reach the native-like competence. From these results, it is argued that robustness of positive evidence, not simply its availability, is critical in the acquisition of the superset L2 targets like the present one.

The purpose of this paper is to explain the making procedure and the usage of receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for interpretation of radiographic images. The conventional radiograms obtained after the creation of the lesions in the acrylic plates and were enhanced in color. The observer were informed of which tooth to examine, the 'a priori' probability of a lesion present and the approximate diameter of the lesions. The two groups of films were interpreted separately by the same observer using the same rating scale. The following rating scale was used: A; definitely no lesion, B; probably no lesion, C; not sure, D; probably a lesion, and E; definitely a lesion. In analysis, for each observer the diagnostic results in terms of true positive (TP) and false positive (FP) decisions were plotted on a graph. The lowest point on the graph represents the TP and FP when only decisions designated as E according to the rating scale are included. The next point shows the TP and FP values when diagnoses designated as D are added and so forth. By connecting such plot points, a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves is obtained. The area under the curve represents the diagnostic accuracy resulting from a diagnostic performance at pure chance level and a value of 1.0 at perfect performance. This method has been known as an useful method to detect the minute difference for each radiographic technic, each observer and for the different lesion depths.

The study on shilla monumental inscription has been accomplished by many historians. However, the research on segmentation of monumental inscription image using digital image processing technique is not sufficient. The preprocessing using computer is needed for accurate interpretation of history. In this paper, A morphological filtering using directional information is presented. Directional filtering is effective in reducing noises and preserving edges. The opening and closing operations in the 1st stage are performed for the pixel is aligned to the vertical, horizontal and two diagonal directions. The Opening operation supresses the positive impulse noise while the closing operation the negative ones. Then Directional filter and post-processing are applied to the image. Experimental result shows outstanding performance for interpretation.

Management of mechanical ventilation is essential for patients with neuro-critical illnesses who may also have impairment of airways, lungs, respiratory muscles, and respiratory drive. However, balancing the approach to mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU) with the need to prevent additional lung and brain injury, is challenging to intensivists. Lung protective ventilation strategies should be modified and applied to neuro-critically ill patients to maintain normocapnia and proper positive end expiratory pressure in the setting of neurological closed monitoring. Understanding the various parameters and graphic waveforms of the mechanical ventilator can provide information about the respiratory target, including appropriate tidal volume, airway pressure, and synchrony between patient and ventilator, especially in patients with neurological dysfunction due to irregularity of spontaneous respiration. Several types of asynchrony occur during mechanical ventilation, including trigger, flow, and termination asynchrony. This review aims to present the basic interpretation of mechanical ventilator waveforms and utilization of waveforms in various clinical situations in the neuro-ICU.

Propose: The expansion of the delivery market in franchise business is a positive means of advertising and promotion for franchisees and contributes to substantial sales growth for stores. However, unrestricted and uncontrolled delivery sales and business activity of franchisee directly lead to encroachment of business territory between franchisees, resulting in increased operating costs of franchisees and conflicts between franchisees over rights and interests on franchise business. Moreover, in relation to the restrictions on the opening of competitors, it is incapacitating the law intent of prohibiting unfair encroachment of business territory, in the issue of the Fair Franchise Act in regard to guarantee of exclusive sales and business activity rights of franchisee. This study aims to point out major problems arising out of franchisee's infinite competition on delivery sales and business activity that are not restricted or controlled and then suggest legal supplements, policy tasks, and practical implications for improvement on the issues. Literature Review: In franchising business transactions, vertical restraints are associated with the exclusive territory establishment, control of transaction area, restriction of intangible sales and business activity of franchisee. Therefore, in the franchise business, it is necessary to take positive interpretation and application on e-commerce, the area of e-commerce, and delivery trading area and find proper and practical ways, by virtue of constructive attitude of each actor, to reduce the encroachment of business territory and various conflicts caused by unrestricted delivery trading area. Conclusion and suggestion: The finding shows that unrestricted or uncontrolled delivery sales and business activity of franchisees cause encroachment of business territory and many conflicts among franchisees. And this matters also weaken the legislation of the law on the protection of the business territory and can be negative factors that disrupt the protection of identity and sound development of the franchise industry in the long run. Therefore, in the franchise business, it is necessary to take positive interpretation and application on e-commerce, the area of e-commerce, and delivery trading area and find proper and practical ways, by virtue of constructive attitude of each actor, to reduce the encroachment of business territory and various conflicts caused by unrestricted delivery trading area.

The purposes of this study were to understand visitors' park use characteristics and provide effective directions fur managing facilities and programs of ecological interpretation in Incheon Grand Park, Korea. To accomplish the purposes of study, a questionnaire survey with 376 samples was carried on the park. As for the results, most respondents were pointed relaxation with natural environment as a main visiting purpose. Visitors highly interested in programs of ecological interpretation and also respondents' intension of participation to those programs showed far more positive. Based on the results, there was a need fer introducing facilities and programs of ecological interpretation as a park management strategy in order to induce nature-friendly park use and connect to environment education in the school system. In addition, some suggestions which should be developed a base facilities and various programs were made.

" Analyzing on an object in the sphere of domestic law with the method of international law" has been already on the horizon in international law. For the lawyers of international law and space law, it is quite natural that they utilize the method of international law, whatever objects they may choice. The reason is that the characteristic of international law do not depend upon object in itself, but depend upon method in itself. The object of this paper is the idea of Peaceful Use(IPU or PU) in Japanese Space Policy. The method to be applied to this analysis is the international law's interpretation theory on legal principles, i.e., the method of international law. One of the aims of this paper is to explain critically the need of review on IPU in Japanese Space Policy; in particular with respect to the positive reconstruction of IPU through historical analyzing on the transfiguration and the mere shell of the Post-War Japanese Pacifism(PJP) as the starting point of IPU The historical process of the transfiguration and the mere shell is as followed .i.e.," from the ultranationalism in the pre-war Japan to PJP in the post-war Japan, from PJP to IPU, and from IPU to IPU's regression. In particular with respect to the interpretation theory, the meaning of the teleological, aims and objects school's approach on the interpretation of legal principles(P) has been emphasized. The reason is that the promising development of IPU will be realized by cooperating with the interpretation theory on P in international law. At the end of the beginning, I'd like to quote K. Marx's thesis in order to make the positions and missions the lawyers of international law and space clear. It is as follows, i.e.," THE PHILOSOPHERS HAVE ONLY INTERPRETED THE WORLD IN VARIOUS WAYS - THE POINT, HOWEVER IS TO CHANGE IT.

Marginalized random effects models (MREM) are commonly used to analyze longitudinal categorical data when the population-averaged effects is of interest. In these models, random effects are used to explain both subject and time variations. The estimation of the random effects covariance matrix is not simple in MREM because of the high dimension and the positive definiteness. A relatively simple structure for the correlation is assumed such as a homogeneous AR(1) structure; however, it is too strong of an assumption. In consequence, the estimates of the fixed effects can be biased. To avoid this problem, we introduce one approach to explain a heterogenous random effects covariance matrix using a modified Cholesky decomposition. The approach results in parameters that can be easily modeled without concern that the resulting estimator will not be positive definite. The interpretation of the parameters is sensible. We analyze metabolic syndrome data from a Korean Genomic Epidemiology Study using this method.
