  • This study investigated the effects of utilizing 3D printed teaching aids on academic achievement and learning motivation in a non-face-to-face learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was divided into an experimental and a comparison group that applied traditional lecture-based teaching and self-directed learning using 3D printed teaching aids and videos. The results of the study showed that the experimental group using 3D printed brain puzzles improved their academic performance compared to the comparison group using traditional lectures. This may be due to the fact that visual and experiential learning helped students to acquire knowledge on their own. The brain puzzles provided an interesting learning experience for the students, and their overall satisfaction with the class was also positive. These results indicate that teaching with teaching aids can increase students' motivation to learn and improve their academic performance. Therefore, the active introduction of 3D printed teaching aids in the non-face-to-face learning environment caused by COVID-19 is expected to improve the quality of education through innovation in learner-centered teaching methods.

  • This study was conducted with the purpose of exploring the relationship dynamics of couples who experienced dating violence. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with 15 couples who experienced dating violence. The collected data was analyzed using the consensual qualitative research(CQR) method. As a result, 3 domains, 13 categories, and 30 subcategories were derived. Domain 1 was about "the direction of the dynamics of perpetration and victimization, types of violence, and experience level," and found that the dynamics of perpetration and victimization are bidirectional, and that there are situational and controlling types of violence. For domain 2, we explored "major conflict themes, unique perceptions, and psychological dynamics of violence" and identified "other and communication issues" and "interference and personality issues" as major conflict themes, "gender stereotypes" and "violence permissive beliefs" as unique perceptions, and "attribution styles," "major emotions," and "coping styles" as psychological dynamics of violence. For domain 3, we looked into the 'changes in commitment and satisfaction as well as relationship maintenance factors' and presented changes in commitment and satisfaction, and found that the relationship maintenance factors were divided into positive and negative factors. These results are significant in that dating violence consists of mutual abuse and that it empirically revealed the detailed elements of the psychological dynamics of male and female. This was compared and analyzed with previous studies, and limitations and future research were also presented.

  • A total of 181 college students(61 males 121 females) with at least 5 years of living abroad (Returnee Group) and another group of 181 students (92 males and 93 females) without extended period of living abroad (Comparison Group) participated in the study by completing a questionnaire consisting of Acculturation Index, Multidimensional Acculturation Scale, Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire, Revised UCLA Loneliness Scale, CES-D, and WHOQOL. The results indicated that the Returnee Group, compared to the Comparison Group, reported as good adjustment toward college life in Korea and positive attitude toward the Korean identity, but a higher level of loneliness. When the Returnee Group were divided into 4 different groups on the basis of acculturation pattern, the Integration and Assimilation Type reported a better adjustment to college life, lower depression and loneliness and better quality of life than the Marginalization Type. The Mariginalization Type appears to be the most vulnerable group, experiencing difficulties in all areas of adjustment, and is clearly in need of interventions. Limitations of the present study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

  • This study aimed to analyze the impact of mental strength on the competitive performance of student Taekwondo sparring athletes. A total of 343 middle school, high school, and university students registered as Taekwondo sparring athletes with the Korea Taekwondo Association were conveniently sampled. The Mental Toughness Test developed by Loehr was utilized after expert consultations. Data analysis involved t-tests and one-way ANOVA to assess the levels of mental strength sub-factors based on general characteristics, followed by post hoc tests using the Schéffe method for intergroup comparisons. Correlation analysis and multiple regression were conducted to examine the relationship between sub-factors of mental strength and competitive ability. The results indicated significant differences in mental strength sub-factors-confidence, level of awakening regulation, visualization and mental imagery regulation, motivation level, positive energy, and attitude control-based on gender and age among Taekwondo sparring student athletes. In terms of perceived competitive ability, significant differences were found based on age and sports experience. Consequently, beyond psychological training, the study revealed that age and diverse experiences positively influence specific aspects of mental strength among Taekwondo sparring student athletes. Therefore, coaching and training for these athletes, particularly during middle and high school years, should incorporate psychological aspects alongside diverse competition experiences and training to help overcome performance evaluation anxieties during matches.
