Mobile positioning measurement is the most important technology for Location Based Services in the cellular networks. Generally, we are expecting to use GPS to guarantee high accuracy of the mobile position, A CDMA network-based technique for the Mobile Station position calculation needs to be implemented in the cdma2000 network whether the handsets have GPS or not, The most reliable methods of the network-based location technologies are based on the estimation of time of signal traveling between MS and B18 in a network whose coordinates are identified, Other signal parameters such as the power of the received signal and the signal arrival direction cannot be used as main data for a location system because adoption of only the signal parameters will not meet the FCC requirements, In practice, the estimates of the time of signal propagation between MS and BTS always have errors resulting from low-resolution power of measurements and multi path signal propagation, This paper describes the combined network-based location technology in the cdma2000 1× necessary to meet US FCC requirements. The issues of a calibration table and statistic processing based on the pilot strength as well as combined network-based location technologies(TOA/ TDOA) will help to achieve higher location accuracy than specified in the US FCC Rule.

This paper deals with a new method of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) recovery when a UAV fails to get a global positioning system (GPS) signal at an unprepared site. The proposed method is based on the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithm. It is a process by which a vehicle can build a map of an unknown environment and simultaneously use this map to determine its position. Extensive research on SLAM algorithms proves that the error in the map reaches a lower limit, which is a function of the error that existed when the first observation was made. For this reason, the proposed method can help an inertial navigation system to prevent its error of divergence with regard to the vehicle position. In other words, it is possible that a UAV can navigate with reasonable positional accuracy in an unknown environment without the aid of GPS. This is the main idea of the present paper. Especially, this paper focuses on path planning that maximizes the discussed ability of a SLAM algorithm. In this work, a SLAM algorithm based on extended Kalman filter is used. For simplicity's sake, a blimp-type of UAV model is discussed and three-dimensional pointed-shape landmarks are considered. Finally, the proposed method is evaluated by a number of simulations.
As a preparatory study for Global Positioning System-Very Long Baseline Interferometry (GPS-VLBI) hybrid system, we examined if VLBI type observation of the GPS signal is realizable through a test experiment. The test experiment was performed between Kashima and Koganei, Japan, with 110 km baseline. The GPS L1 and L2 signals were received by commercial GPS antennas, down-converted to video-band signals by specially developed GPS down converters, and then sampled by VLBI samplers. The sampled GPS data were recorded as ordinary VLBI data by VLBI recorders. The sampling frequency was 64 MHz and the observation time was 1 minute. The recorded data were correlated by a VLBI correlator. From correlation results, we simultaneously obtained correlation fringes from all 8 satellites above a cut-off elevation which was set to 15 degree. 87.5% of L1 fringes and 12.5% of L2 fringes acquired the Signal to Noise Ratios which are sufficient to achieve the group delay precision of 0.1nsec that is typical in current geodetic VLBI. This result shows that VLBI type observation of GPS satellites will be readily realized in future GPS-VLBI hybrid system.
Linear pulse Motors(LPM) are widely used in fields where smooth linear motion is required, and their position accuracy is higher than other motors. Hybrid linear pulse motors(HLPM) are regarded as an excellent solution to positioning problems that require high accuracy, rapid acceleration and high-speed. The LPM has low mechanical complexity, high reliability, precise open-loop operation and low inertia etc. in many application areas such as factory automation speed positioning, computer peripherals and numerically controlled machine tools. This motor drive system is especially suitable for machine tools the high position accuracy and repeatability. This paper describes about that need of the embroider machine, we want to design position-scanning device for the embroidery machine. At first, to be analysed characteristics of the machine and next designed the LPM. we used the field analysis program, The finite element method(FEM) program tool is employed for calculation the force. The reluctance models will be used the magnetic permeance of air gap by static- conditions. The forces between forcer and platen have been calculated using the virtual work method.

This research presents the development of a self-governing mobile robot navigation system for indoor construction applications. This self-governing robot navigation system integrated robot control units, various positioning techniques including a dead-reckoning system, a UWB platform and motion sensors, with a BIM path planner solution. Various algorithms and error correction methods have been tested for all the employed sensors and other components to improve the positioning and navigation capability of the system. The research demonstrated that the path planner utilizing a BIM model as a navigation site map could effectively extract an efficient path for the robot, and could be executed in a real-time application for construction environments. Several navigation strategies with a mobile robot were tested with various combinations of localization sensors including wheel encoders, sonar/infrared/thermal proximity sensors, motion sensors, a digital compass, and UWB. The system successfully demonstrated the ability to plan an efficient path for robot's movement and properly navigate through the planned path to reach the specified destination in a complex indoor construction site. The findings can be adopted to several potential construction or manufacturing applications such as robotic material delivery, inspection, and onsite security.

In this paper, we developed the micro NCT system for punching the thin plates, which is driven is driven by the standalone type microprocessor. In order to adjust the alignment between the punch and die in-situ punching procedures, the non-contact type laser sensor for measuring the burr and micro-driving system for punching die with using the differential screw are developed. The height of burr in four directions in the punched hole of test specimen are measured, and the measured data are transferred to the personal computer by RS232C serial communication technology. In the personal computer, by using the graphic user interface type monitoring program and data handling procedures which includes the filtering algorithms, the direction and length of movement of the die position is decided and these data are transferred back to the microprocessor. The microprocessor drives the micro positioning stage based on these data. Even if this method is not a perfect solution for the in-situ alignment in micro punching, but this alignment methodology is accomplished in the same stage just after the punching that we hope to solve the alignment problem in the punching system based on this technology.
In this paper a low power Spreading Code Authentication (SCA) sequence with a BPSK(1) modulation at a frequency offset of +7.161 MHz is tested for authentication purposes, the Galileo E1OS is used as base signal. The tested signals comprise a Galileo constellation with 5 satellites including the Galileo OS Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) and a low power offset BPSK (OBPSK(7,1)) as SCA component. The signals are generated with the software based MuSNAT-Signal-Generator. The generated signals were transmitted Over-The-Air (OTA) using a Software-Defined-Radio (SDR) as pseudolite. With a real-environment-testbed the performance of the SCA in real channel conditions (fading and multipath) was tested. A new SCA evaluation scheme is proposed and was implemented. Under real channel conditions we derive experimental threshold values for the new SCA evaluation scheme which allow a robust authentication. A Security Code Estimation and Replay (SCER) spoofing attack was mimicked on the real-environment-testbed and analyzed with the SCA evaluation scheme. It was shown that the usage of an OBPSK is feasible as an authentication method and can be used in combination with the OSNMA to improve the authentication robustness against Security SCER attacks.
In this paper, the pseudorange-based GPS performance using the Android's raw measurements is compared with NMEA. In order to compare the performance between the two different implementations, we used Nexus 9 tablets and collected the raw measurements and NMEA data using the GNSS logger application provided by Google. To verify the performance of the final coordinates calculated, the VRS was used as the reference coordinate and compared with the NMEA results. The resulting horizontal, vertical, and 3D RMS errors of the pseudorange-based GPS using the Android's raw measurements are 3.05, 3.82, and 4.97 m, respectively, which correspond to 32% horizontal, 65% vertical and 49% 3D performance improvement compared with NMEA.

With the development of technology the Global Positioning System(GPS) measurement method which uses the artificial satellites to locate its position has been adopted in construction projects. Especially in civil engineering projects which have not any base points needed to measure their position they use the GPS measurement method has been put to practical use. But it was still difficult to use that method in building construction sites which require more accurate measurement data than the current GPS measurement method can provide. In this paper we introduce a new GPS measurement method adopted in Burj Dubai project which would be the tallest building in the world after its completion.
A location-aware system, which is capable to detect a user's whereabout in a region and provide real-time location information in outdoor environment is designed and fabricated, specifically using the GPS (global positioning system) as key technology in view of its stability and high precision in outdoor environment. Experiment is conducted to test this application in campus-based environment. Once GPS receiver detects specific location which is tagged with GPS coordinates, the system provides information relevant to that context and user can operate and react accordingly. Besides, this location-aware system is able to provide user with the route in order to get to a desired place by detecting the direction that the user is moving towards from his/her initial location. The mapping data is transferred via wireless LAN to PDA carried by the user as well as to the back-end system on real-time basis. The test result is analyzed and discussed to validate the effectiveness of using GPS in implementing this system and indicates future works that could be made to improve this prototype to be implemented in other applications, such as theme park, tourist attraction spot or recreational park.
