In this paper, we present relative positioning algorithm for moving land vehicle using GPS, MEMS IMU and B-CDMA module. This algorithm does not calculate precise absolute position but calculates relative position directly, so additional infrastructure and I2V communication device are not required. Proposed algorithm has several steps. Firstly, unbiased relative position is calculated using pseudorange difference between two vehicles. Simultaneously, the algorithm estimates position of each vehicle using GPS/INS integration. Secondly, proposed algorithm performs filtering and finally estimates relative position and relative velocity. Using proposed algorithm, we can obtain more precise relative position for moving land vehicles with short time interval as IMU sensor has. The simulation is performed to evaluate this algorithm and the several field tests are performed with real time program and miniature vehicles for verifying performance of proposed algorithm.

This study proposed a method to select existing facilities as a landmark in order to reset accumulated errors of dead reckoning in a tunnel difficult to receive GNSS signals in automated driving. First, related standards and regulations were reviewed in order to survey 'variety' on shapes and installation locations as a feature of facilities. Second, 'recognition' on facilities was examined using image and Lidar sensors. Last, 'regularity' in terms of installation locations and intervals was surveyed through related references. The results of this study selected a fire fighting box / lamp (50m), an evacuation corridor lamp (300m), a lane control system (500m), a maximum / minimum speed limit sign and a jet fan as a candidate landmark to reset positioning errors. Based on those facilities, it was determined that error correction was possible. The results of this study are expected to be used in repositioning of automated driving vehicles in a tunnel.
Firms that have adopted internet technology have been confused by distorted market signals. It is natural to look at marketplace outcomes for guidance, when confronted with a new business phenomenon. However, market signals can be unreliable in the early states of any important new information technology. New technologies trigger rampant experimentation, and the experimentation is often unsustainable. As a result, market behavior is distorted and must be interpreted cautiously. In Chapter 1, we review a concept of business model and roles of strategies in a business model. In Chapter 2, we discuss a strategic auditing method for analyzing market/channel positioning, product/service positioning, value chain/value network positioning and external environmental factors. In chapter 3, we introduces major frameworks for understanding factors forming strategies. The strategic grid model categorizes four quadrants depending on the level of impacts of information technology on operation and strategy. The strategic alignment model presents a new method of assessing an alignment of information technology and business throughout all elements of a business model. In this research, we review the concept of a business model. This research introduces factors that shape strategies and new frameworks for understanding these factors. The research objective of this manuscript is to present a guidance for firms how to use information technology for attaining sustainable competitive advantages.
Telematics is a compound word derived from telecommunication and informatics, which provides wireless data service such as traffic information, living information, remote control, maintenance and etc. in a vehicle using GPS(Global Positioning System) and telecommunication. Telematics acceptance was investigated to analyze characteristics of telematics service and its market by using a theoretical technology acceptance model based on literature review. In this paper, valid factors, influencing telematics service acceptance, have been drawn in terms of user ease-of-use, usefulness and service characteristics. Modified measuring variables were used by referring to previous researches.
In this paper, the authors propose a new approach to the control problem of marine vessels that are moored or controlled by actuators. The vessel control system is basically based on Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) technology. The main object of this paper is to obtain a more useful control design method for DPS. In this problem, the control allocation is a complication. For this problem, many results have been given and verified by other researchers using a two-step process, with the controller and control allocation design processes carried out individually. In this paper, the authors provide a more sophisticated design solution for this issue. The authors propose a new design method in which the controller design and control allocation problems are considered and solved simultaneously. In other words, the system stability, control performance, and allocation problem are unified by an LMI (linear matrix inequality) based on control theory. The usefulness of the proposed approach is verified by a simulation using a supply vessel model.
Alternative binary offset carrier (AltBOC) signals can be approximated by four synchronized direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals, each pair of which is a quadrature phase shift keyed (QPSK) signal at a different frequency. Therefore, depending on the strength of an incoming AltBOC signal, an acquisition technique can reduce the mean acquisition time (MAT) by searching the four DSSS signals asynchronously; the search for each of the four DSSS signals can start at one of the evenly separated hypotheses on the two-dimensional hypothesis space. And detection sensitivity can be improved by multiple levels when different numbers of search results for the same hypothesis are combined. In this paper, we propose a fast AltBOC acquisition technique that has an asynchronous search strategy and efficiently utilizes the output of the four search results to increase the sensitivity level when sensitivity improvement is needed. We provide a complete theoretical analysis and demonstrate with numerous Monte Carlo simulations that the MAT of the proposed technique is much smaller than conventional AltBOC acquisition techniques.
GPS L2C signal is a recently added civil signal to L2 frequency and is constructed by time division multiplexing of civil moderate (L2-CM) and civil long (L2-CL) code signals. While the L2-CM code is 20 ms-periodic and modulates satellite navigation message, the L2-CL code is 1.5s-periodic with 767,250 chips long code sequence and carries no data. Therefore, the L2-CL code signal allows receivers to perform a very long coherent integration. However, due to the length of the L2-CL code, the acquisition of the L2-CL code signal may take too long or require too much hardware resources. In this paper, we propose a three-step ultra-fast L2-CL code acquisition (TSCLA) technique for dual band GPS receivers. In the proposed TSCLA technique, a dual band GPS receiver sequentially acquires the coarse/acquisition (C/A) code signal at L1 frequency, the L2-CM code signal, and the L2-CL code signal to minimize mean acquisition time (MAT). The theoretical performance analysis and numerous Monte Carlo simulations show the significant advantage of the proposed TSCLA technique over conventional techniques introduced in the literature.

The urban stream include the channel and its adjacent banks, or hillslopes and it consists of various landscape elements. The riparian ecosystem is important to people. Its water is extracted for irrigation and drinking supplies. Biodiversity and many wetland species are protected here. The riparian ecosystem is diverse and needs to be preserved well. So, it is necessary to measure the features of the urban stream accurately to figure out the change of the riparian ecosystem. However, the traditional Electronic Distance Measurement(EDM) surveying is difficult to measure the curvilinear features of the stream - e, g, angle, curve. The beacon Differential Global Positioning System(DGPS) can handle to measure the curvilinear shape. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to measure the change of the river bed in urban stream accurately using realtime beacon DGPS, and ultimately to provide the basic data for identifying the change of the river ecosystem.
Satellite Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) provide ionospheric corrections at geographically five degree-spaced Ionospheric Grid Points (IGPs) and confidence bounds, called Grid Ionospheric Vertical Errors (GIVEs), on the error of those corrections. Since the ionosphere is one of the largest error sources which may threaten the safety of a single frequency Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) user, the ionospheric correction and integrity bound algorithm is essential for the development of SBAS. The current single frequency based SBAS, already deployed or being developed, implement the ionospheric correction and error bounding algorithm of the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) developed for use in the United States. However, the ionospheric condition is different for each region and it could greatly degrade the performance of SBAS if its regional characteristics are not properly treated. Therefore, this paper discusses key factors that should be taken into consideration in the development of the ionospheric correction and integrity bound algorithm optimized for the Korean SBAS. The main elements of the conventional GIVE monitor algorithm are firstly reviewed. Then, this paper suggests several areas which should be investigated to improve the availability of the Korean SBAS by decreasing the GIVE value.
In the maritime container terminal, LMTT (Linear Motor-based Transfer Technology) is horizontal transfer system for the yard automation, which has been proposed to take the place of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle). The system is based on PMLSM (Permanent Magnetic Linear Synchronous Motor) that is consists of stator modules on the rail and shuttle car (mover). Because of large variant of mover's weight by loading and unloading containers, the difference of each characteristic of stator modules, and a stator module's trouble etc., LMCPS (Linear Motor Conveyance Positioning System) is considered as that the system is changed its model suddenly and variously. In this paper, we will introduce the soft-computing method of a multi-step prediction control for LMCPS using DR-FNN (Dynamically-constructed Recurrent Fuzzy Neural Network). The proposed control system is used two networks for multi-step prediction. Consequently, the system has an ability to adapt for external disturbance, cogging force, force ripple, and sudden changes of itself.
