Inertial Navigation System has been used extensively to determine the position, velocity and attitude of the body. An INS is very expensive, however, heavy, power intensive, requires long setting times and the accuracy of the system is degraded as time passed due to the accumulated error. Global Positioning System(GPS) receivers can compensate for the Inertial Navigation System with the ability to provide both absolute position and attitude. This study describes a method to improve both the accuracy of a body positioning and the precision of an attitude determination using GPS antenna array. Existing attitude determination methods using low-cost GPS receivers focused on the relative vectors between the master and the slave antennas. Then the positioning of the master antenna is determined in meter-level because the single point positioning with pseudorange measurements is used. To obtain a better positioning accuracy of the body in this research, a wireless internet is used as an alternative data link for the real-time differential corrections and dual-frequency GPS receivers which is expected to be inexpensive was used. The numerical results show that this system has the centimeter level accuracy in positioning and the degree level accuracy in attitude.

This paper proposes an attitude determination GPS/INS integrated system scheme for a UAV and presents experimental flight test results. The proposed system is designed as a part of an autopilot system and comprises a GPS attitude determination receiver, an off-the-shelf inertial measurement unit (IMU), and a navigation computer unit (NCU). UAV requires accurate attitude information for stable automatic flight control. The proposed system can provide accurate attitude information for the flight control computer (FCC) so that stable automatic flight control can be achieved. In order to verify the performance of the proposed scheme, an integrated navigation system has been developed. In order to evaluate the developed navigation system, the flight test has been performed. In the flight test, the developed system was shown to provide the position, the velocity and the attitude satisfactorily enough for stable flight control. The accuracy of the attitude information of the developed system was confirmed by comparing attitude of vertical gyro.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is an aircraft controlled by .emote commands from ground station and/o. pre-programmed onboard autopilot system. A navigation system in the UAV provides a navigation data for a flight control computer(FCC). The FCC requires accurate and reliable position, velocity and attitude information for guidance and control. This paper proposes an ADGPS/INS integrated navigation system for a UAV. The proposed navigation system comprises an attitude determination GPS (ADGPS) receive., a navigation computer unit, and a low-cost commercial MEMS inertial measurement unit(IMU). The navigation algorithm contains a fault detection and isolation (FDI) function fur integrity. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed navigation system, two flight tests were preformed using a small aircraft. The first flight test was carried out to confirm fundamental operation of the proposed navigation system and to check the effectiveness of the FDI algorithm. In the second flight test, the navigation performance and the benefit of the GPS attitude information were checked in a high dynamic environment. The flight test results show that the proposed ADGPS/INS integrated navigation system gives a reliable performance even when anomalous GPS data is provided and better navigation performance than a conventional GPS/INS integration unit.

In this paper, an enhanced method for attitude determination is proposed for systems using an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). In attitude determination with IMU, it is generally assumed that the IMU can be located in the center of gravity on the vehicle. If the IMU is not located in the center of gravity, the accelerometers of the IMU are disturbed from additive accelerations such as centripetal acceleration and tangential acceleration. Additive accelerations are derived from the lever arm which is the distance between the center of gravity and the position of the IMU. The performance of estimation errors can be maintained in system with a non-zero lever arm, if the lever arm is estimated to remove the additive accelerations from the accelerometer's measurements. In this paper, an estimation using Kalman filter is proposed to include the lever arm in the state variables of the state space equation. For the Kalman filter, the process model and the measurement model for attitude determination are made up by using quaternion. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, both of the simulations and the experiments are performed for the simplified scenario of motion.

In this paper, we were implemented the application to induce correct posture by recognizing the incorrect posture of the user. Implemented system uses kinect sensors to determine the user's position information, it has been developed posture determination algorithm that can determine the four wrong posture and correct posture. In addition to PC in order to improve the user convenience and accessibility, to implement real-time monitoring application that can determine the user's position in the smartphone. For the system of performance evaluation of and promote the attitude determination experiment to target the five college students, the experimental results sensitivity and specificity of it it was found that the attitude determination performance is excellent at 0.956.
This paper describes an experiment for three-dimensional positioning for a pair of KOMPSAT stereostrips using the ancillary data and a single ground control point. The photogrammetric model for three-dimensional positioning was performed as follows: first, initialization of orbital and attitude parameters derived from ancillary data; second, adjustment of orbital and attitude parameters for the satellite to minimize the ground position error with respect to a GCP using the collinearity condition; third, determination of actual satellite position; and lastly, space intersection. This model was tested for a pair of stereo strips with 0.6 base-to-height ratio and GCPs identified from a 1:5,000 scale digital map. As the result, the satellite position of offset was corrected by only one GCP and the accuracy for the geometric modeling showed 38.89m RMSE.

This paper presents a sensor fusion method based on indirect Kalman filter(IKF) for error compensation of low-cost inertial sensors and its application to the determination of attitude and position of small flying robots. First, the analysis of the measurement error characteristics to zero input is performed, focusing on the bias due to the temperature variation, to derive a simple nonlinear bias model of low-cost inertial sensors. Moreover, from the experimental results that the coefficients of this bias model possess non-deterministic (stochastic) uncertainties, the bias of low-cost inertial sensors is characterized as consisting of both deterministic and stochastic bias terms. Then, IKF is derived to improve long term stability dominated by the stochastic bias error, fusing low-cost inertial sensor measurements compensated by the deterministic bias model with non-inertial sensor measurement. In addition, in case of using intermittent non-inertial sensor measurements due to the unreliable data link, the upper and lower bounds of the state estimation error covariance matrix of discrete-time IKF are analyzed by solving stochastic algebraic Riccati equation and it is shown that they are dependant on the throughput of the data link and sampling period. To evaluate the performance of proposed method, experimental results of IKF for the attitude determination of a small flying robot are presented in comparison with that of extended Kaman filter which compensates only deterministic bias error model.

This paper addresses the design and analysis results of a 2-axes magnetometer for attitude determination of small satellite. A low-cost and efficient 2-axes fluxgate magnetometer was selected as the most suitable attitude sensor for LEO microsatellites which require a low-to-medium level pointing accuracy. An optimization trade-off study has been performed for the development of 2-axes fluxgate magnetometer. All the relevant parameters such as permeability, demagnetization factor, coil diameter, core thickness, and number of coil turns were considered for the sizing of a small satellite magnetometer. The magnetometer which is designed, manufactured, and tested in-house as described in this paper satisfies linearity requirement for determining attitude position of small satellites. On the basis of magnetometer which is designed in Space System Research Lab. (SSRL), commercial magnetometer will be developed.
Existing radio positioning systems have a drawback that the attitude of user's tag is difficult to be determined. Although forward link angle of arrival (FLAOA) technology that uses measurements of array antenna arranged in a tag among the angle of arrival (AOA) technologies can estimate attitude and positioning of tags, it cannot extend the estimated results into three-dimensional (3D) results due to complex non-linear model displayed because of the effects of 3D positioning and attitude in tags. This paper proposed a radio navigation technique that determines 3D attitude and positioning via FLAOA / time of arrival (TOA) integration. According to the order of determining attitude and positioning, two integration techniques were proposed. To analyze the performance of the proposed technique, MATLAB-based simulations were used to verify the performance. The simulation results showed that the first proposed method, TOA-FLAOA integrated technique, showed about 0.15 m of positioning error, and $2-3^{\circ}$ of attitude error performances regardless of the positioning space size whereas the second method, differenced FLAOA-TOA integrated technique, revealed a problem that a positioning error became larger as the size of the positioning space became larger.

In the GPS/DR integrated system, the GPS position(or velocity) is used to compensate the DR output and to calibrate errors of the DR sensor. This synergistic relationship ensures that the calibrated DR accuracy can be maintained even when the GPS signal is blocked. Because of the observability problem, however, the DR sensors are not sufficiently calibrated when the vehicle speed is low. This problem can be solved if we use a multi-antenna GPS receiver for attitude determination instead of conventional one. This paper designs a two-antenna GP receiver integrated with DR sensors. The proposed integration system has three remarkable features. First, the DR sensor can be calibrated regardless of the vehicle speed with the aid of two-antenna GPS receiver. Secondly, the search space of integer ambiguities in GPS carrier-phase measurements is reduced to a part of the surface of the sphere using DR heading. Thirdly, the detection resolution of cycle-slips in GPS carrier-phase measurements is improved with the aid of DR heading. From the experimental result, it is shown that the search space is drastically reduced to about 3/20 of the non-aided case and the cycle-slips of 1 or half cycle can be detected.
