능동형 RFID 네트워크 시스템 고속 충돌방지 알고리즘 (High Speed Collision Avoidance Algorithm for Active RFID Network System)

  • 본 논문은 다수의 RFID 리더가 공간상에서 무선네트워크를 형성하여 리더기마다 소속된 능동형 태그들 관리할 수 있는 효율적인 시스템을 설계 및 구현하고 특히 이 시스템에서 리더기-리더기 간 및 태그-태그 간에 발생하는 충돌을 회피하도록 하는 효율적인 알고리즘을 제안한다. RF 리더기가 무선 네트워크 노드들로서 작동하고 이들이 동기식으로 링크를 형성하여 리더기간 메시지를 주고받을 수 있도록 구성하였다. 능동형 태그 역시 각 리더기와 동기식으로 통신하도록 구성되며 태그 고유 ID를 사용하여 태그 간에 슬롯 점유를 경쟁시키는 알고리즘을 수행한다. 리더기 간 충돌방지를 위하여 각 리더기 노드들은 네트워크 통신 주기에서 서로 다른 시간 구간에서 리더기 기능을 수행하도록 하였다.

주행하는 자동차 외부 소음원 측정에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experiments on the Noise Source Identification from a Moving Vehicle)

  • Recently, several experimental techniques for identifying the noise sources distributed over a moving vehicle are being developed and used in order to design a low noise vehicle. The beamforming method, which uses phase information between several microphones to localize the source position, is proved to be one of the promising techniques applicable even under complicated test environments. In this study a beamforming algorithm is developed and applied to measure the dominant noise sources on a passenger car moving at constant speed. Unlike the acoustic signals from a stationary noise source, the sound generated from a moving source is distorted due to the Doppler effects. The sound pressure are measured with an spiral array system composed of 26 microphones and a pair of photo sensors are used to measure the. vehicle speed. The information about the speed and relative position of the vehicle are used to eliminate the Doppler effects from the measured pressure signal by using a de-Dopplerization algorithm. The noise generated from a moving vehicle can be grouped in many ways, however, tire noise and the noise generated from the engine are distinguishable at the speeds being tested.

  • 본 논문에서는 부분적으로 알고 있는 비선형 마찰력이 있는 2차 기계시스템에 대한 강인한 적응제어 기법을 제시한다. 제시하는 적응제어 방법은 잡음이나 모델링 에러가 없는 경우에는 위치 및 속도 추적 오차는 점근적으로 영으로 수렴함을 보장하며, 잡음이나 모델링 에러가 있는 경우에는 그동안 발표된 다른 논문의 결과와 달리 디자인 변수를 적절하게 선택하면 위치 및 속도 추적 오차를 원하는 범위까지 줄일 수 있음을 보였으며 이는 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 입증하였다.

Pulmonary Function Index Comparisons Depending on Various Postures of Stroke Patients

  • PURPOSE: To prevent secondary complications from decreased pulmonary functions and promote neurological recovery, identification of respiratory capacity change patterns depending on different postures of stroke patients and investigation of their properties are needed for active rehabilitation. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the changes in vital capacity in response to different positions and to implement the results as clinical data. METHODS: A respiratory function test was administered to 52 patients with stroke in the sitting, supine, paretic side lying, and non-paretic side lying positions. Pulmonary function indexes used for comparison were forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume at 1 second (FEV1), forced expiratory flow 25-75% (FEF 25-75%), and maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV). One-way repeated ANOVA was used for analysis, and post hoc analysis was conducted using least significant difference (LSD). RESULTS: All pulmonary function indexes were measured in the order of sitting, paretic side lying, supine, and non-paretic side lying positions. Excluding the FEF25-75% and MVV of the supine compared with the paretic side lying position, all other pulmonary function indexes differed significantly (p<.05). CONCLUSION: There are differences in pulmonary function indexes depending on different postures of stroke patients, and the study showed that the non-paretic side lying position yielded the greatest effect on lung ventilation mechanisms. Based on these results, appropriate postures need to be considered during physical therapy interventions for stroke patients.

Identification of structural displacements utilizing concurrent robotic total station and GNSS measurements

  • Monitoring large structures is a significant issue involving public health on which new studies are constantly carried out. Although the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is the most preferable method for measuring structural displacements, total stations, one of the classical geodetic instruments, are the first devices that come to mind in cases that require complementary usage and auxiliary measurement methods. In this study, the relative displacements of the structural movements of a tower were determined using robotic total stations (RTS) and GNSS. Two GNSS receivers and two RTS observations were carried out simultaneously for 10 hours under normal weather conditions. The spectral analysis of the GNSS data was performed using fast Fourier transform (FFT), and while the dominant modal frequencies were determined, the total station data were balanced with the least-squares technique, and the position and position errors were calculated for each measurement epoch. It has been observed that low-frequency structural movements can be determined by both methods. This result shows that total station measurements are a helpful alternative method for monitoring large structures in situations where measurements are not possible due to the basic handicaps of GNSS or where it is necessary to determine displacements with short observations.

실내 환경에서의 주행가능성을 고려한 라이다 기반 이동 로봇 탐사 기법 (LiDAR-based Mobile Robot Exploration Considering Navigability in Indoor Environments)

  • This paper presents a method for autonomous exploration of indoor environments using a 2-dimensional Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) scanner. The proposed frontier-based exploration method considers navigability from the current robot position to extracted frontier targets. An approach to constructing the point cloud grid map that accurately reflects the occupancy probability of glass obstacles is proposed, enabling identification of safe frontier grids on the safety grid map calculated from the point cloud grid map. Navigability, indicating whether the robot can successfully navigate to each frontier target, is calculated by applying the skeletonization-informed rapidly exploring random tree algorithm to the safety grid map. While conventional exploration approaches have focused on frontier detection and target position/direction decision, the proposed method discusses a safe navigation approach for the overall exploration process until the completion of mapping. Real-world experiments have been conducted to verify that the proposed method leads the robot to avoid glass obstacles and safely navigate the entire environment, constructing the point cloud map and calculating the navigability with low computing time deviation.

무인항공기 탑재 안테나 간 간섭을 고려한 안테나 최적 위치 분석 (Analysis of Optimum Antenna Placement Considering Interference Between Airborne Antennas Mounted on UAV)

  • 본 논문에서는 무인항공기에 탑재된 안테나 간의 간섭을 고려한 안테나 최적 위치 분석에 대해서 서술하였다. 분석은 전방향성 안테나들 중 운용 주파수 대역이 인접하고, 상호 간 이격거리가 가까운 곳에 위치한 안테나들을 선정하여 수행하였다. 분석을 수행한 안테나는 제어용 데이터링크, TCAS(Traffic Collision & Avoidance System), IFF(Identification Friend or Foe), GPS(Global Positioning System)와 RALT(Radar ALTimeter) 안테나들이다. 안테나 최적 위치 분석은 세 단계로 구분된다. 첫 번째 단계는 안테나 용도, 형상 및 방사패턴을 고려한 안테나 초기 위치 선정 후 안테나 장착 시 무인항공기 구조물에 의한 안테나 방사패턴과 반사손실 특성 변화를 관찰하여 최적의 특성을 갖는 지점을 선정하는 것이다. 두 번째 단계는 안테나 간의 결합특성과 송신 안테나의 불요파 세기 및 수신 안테나의 최저수신감도를 고려하여 안테나 간 간섭 정도를 분석하는 것이다. 간섭이 발생할 경우, 간섭이 미발생하는 최소이격거리를 분석하여 간섭이 발생하지 않는 최적 위치를 선정한다. 마지막 단계는 안테나 간 추가 거리 이격으로도 간섭이 제거되지 않을 경우, 안테나 간 주파수 이격 분석을 통한 주파수 간섭 대책을 확정하는 것이다. 이러한 분석 과정은 개발단계에서 안테나 간 간섭을 예측하여 간섭이 발생하지 않는 안테나 최적 위치 선정에 유용하게 사용된다.

IDENTIFICATION OF FALSIFIED DRUGS USING NEAR-INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY

  • Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) was investigated aiming at the identification of falsified drugs. The identification is based on comparison of the NIR spectrum of a sample with a typical spectra of an authentic drug using multivariate modelling and classification algorithms (PCA/SIMCA). Two spectrophotometers (Brimrose - Luminar 2000 and 2030), based on acoustic-optical filter (AOTF) technology, sharing the same controlling computer, software (Brimrose - Snap 2.03) and the data acquisition electronics, were employed. The Luminar 2000 scans the range 850 1800 nm and was employed for transmitance/absorbance measurements of liquids with a transflectance optical bundle probe with total optical path of 5 mm and a circular area of 0.5 $\textrm{cm}^2$. Model 2030 scans the rage 1100 2400 nm and was employed for reflectance measurement of solids drugs. 300 spectra, acquired in about 20 s, were averaged for each sample. Chemometric treatment of the spectral data, modelling and classification were performed by using the Unscrambler 7.5 software (CAMO Norway). This package provides the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and SIMCA algorithms, used for modelling and classification, respectively. Initially, NIRS was evaluated for spectrum acquisition of various drugs, selected in order to accomplish the diversity of physico-chemical characteristics found among commercial products. Parameters which could affect the spectra of a given drug (especially if presented as solid tablets) were investigated and the results showed that the first derivative can minimize spectral changes associated with tablet geometry, physical differences in their faces and position in relation to the probe beam. The effect of ambient humidity and temperature were also investigated. The first factor needs to be controlled for model construction because the ambient humidity can cause spectral alterations that should cause the wrong classification of a real drug if the factor is not considered by the model.

가시광의 후방산란을 이용한 VLID 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of VLID System by Back-Scattering Visible Light)

  • 본 논문에서는 LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) 셔터로 입사된 가시광의 후방산란 특성을 변화시켜 태그의 ID 정보를 리더로 전달하는 VLID(Visible Light Identification) 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 구현된 VLID 시스템은 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)의 원리를 가시광 통신에 적용한 것으로, 태그 표면에 부착된 LCD 셔터를 이용하여 태그의 정보에 따라 VLID 리더에서 송신한 빛을 선택적으로 후방산란시키고, 이 변화를 리더가 인식하도록 한다. VLID 태그는 마이컴과 태그 표면에 부착된 LCD 셔터로 구성되며, VLID 리더는 6개의 LED, 그 중심에 놓여있는 하나의 photodiode, 관련 아날로그 회로 및 블루투스(bluetooth)를 통한 PC 인터페이스로 구성된다. 실험 결과, 낮 기준으로 35 cm 이상의 거리에서 100 bps 속도로 단극성 NRZ-OOK(Non Return to Zero ON/OFF Keying) 변조한 태그의 정보를 성공적으로 인식할 수 있었다. 또한, 이론적인 최대 전송속도, 인식거리 개선 방법 등을 제안하였다.

The identification of /I/ in Spanish and French

  • This presentation explores on the perceptual characteristics of the lateral sound /l/ in CV syllables. At initial position we found that /l/ has well marked formant transitions. Then several questions arise: 1) are these formant structures dependent on the following vowel\ulcorner. 2) Are the formant transitions giving an additional cue for the identification\ulcorner Considering that the French vocalic system presents a greater variety of vowels than Spanish, several experiments were designed to verify to what extent a more extensive range of vocalic timbres contribute to the perception of /l/. Natural emissions of /l/ produced in Argentine Spanish and Canadian French CV syllables were recorded, where V was successively /i, e, a, o, u/ for Spanish and /i, e, $\varepsilon$, a, $\alpha$, o, u, y, \phi$/ for French. For each item, the segment C was maintained and V was replaced by cutting & splicing by each of the remaining vowels without transitions. Results of the identification tests for Spanish show that natural /l/ segments with low Fl and high formants F3, F4 can be clearly identified in the /i, e, u/ vowel contexts without transitions. For French subjects the combination of /l/ with a vowel without transitions reflected correct identifications for its own original vowel context in /e, $\varepsilon$, y, $\phi$/. For both languages, in all these combinations, F1 values remained rather steady along the syllable. In the case of /o, u/ very likely the F2 difference lead to a variety of perceptions of the original /l/. For example in Ilul, French subjects reported some identifications of /l/ as a vowel, mainly /y/. Our observations reinforce the importance of F1 as a relevant cue for /l/, and the incidence of the relative distance between formants frequencies of both components.
