  • The work patterns in the organizations performing research and development projects consist of both administrative business with defined processes and knowledge-oriented research and development business with undefined or semidefined processes. This paper describes an enterprise portal model and its services aligned to research and development organization's work patterns. The proposed portal model is focused on constructing personalized workplaces providing knowledge-based services for research and development business, as well as business process management based services for administrative business. The further research will provide more concrete portal model and its applicability to research and development organization's business.

인터넷 시작페이지 포털사이트 결정요인과 만족에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determinants and Satisfaction of Portal Cite in Internet Initiation Page)

  • This research develops, and empirically test a model for explaining/predicting the Determinants and Satisfaction of Portal Cite in Internet Initiation Page. Also this paper describes a theoretical model for investigating the service quality satisfaction in the Internet Initiation Page. This research is the first to empirical test the causal relationships in determinants of Portal Cite. The model of the satisfaction for Portal Cite are tested here using data from 224 samples. Based on the research model, a comprehensive set of hypotheses is formulated and a methodology for testing them is outlined. some of the hypotheses are tested empirically to demonstrate the applicability of the theoretical model. In examining the relationships of the determinants factors, satisfaction show in significantly by Convenience, Information Provided, Entertainments, Interaction but that show in not significantly by the Trustworthiness, In addition, Portal Cite in Internet Initiation Page shows indirect effect between customer satisfaction and referral.

디지털도서관의 통합포털 모형 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Model Development of Digital Library's Integrated Portal)

  • 이 연구는 디지털도서관의 통합포털에서 제공되는 서비스의 모형을 개발하는 목적으로 수행하였다. 모형개발을 위해 먼저 도서관 포털에 대한 이론적인 접근을 시도하였다. 그런 다음 5 가지의 주요 사례를 선정하여 포털의 주요한 특성을 구분하고, 도서관 포털이 갖추어야할 기본요건을 정의하였다. 마지막으로 현재 운영을 준비하고 있는 국립디지털도서관을 기반으로 국내 환경에 적합한 포털 서비스의 모형을 정의하고, 기본이 되는 검색과 참여 서비스의 구성요소를 제안하게 된다.

  • Internet portal sites have served customers for more than a decade in Korea. There have been several such sites have survived, succeeded and led the internet industry. What is the source of their competitiveness? We assumed that the network effect, which can vary dynamically, is an important factor; so we tried to build and analyze a system dynamics model on portal sites that represent their advertising business model. This model includes not only the network effect, but also customer's' expectations of the quality of portal sites, which also varies dynamically. As a result of our research, we can state that the network effect is important to stabilize and increase portal sites' quality, market share, income and cash flow. And we know that investment at a level above that which is merely required is necessary to preserve and stabilize their business.

  • Cyber office is a personalized enterprise portal model for knowledge workers. The key services of cyber office are both personalization and emergent collaboration. Personalization service is provided by choosing service from service repository and then dropping it in the cyber office. Service repository contains various kinds of services supporting business activities. Cyber office provides blog service and profile service for knowledge workers to participate in knowledge based collaboration voluntarily.

  • In this paper, we introduce a mathematical model to analyze pricing/quality and service mix strategies for Internet Portal site. This model includes utilities and costs of each participants, i.e., user, third party provider, and portal sites. Especially, we consider portal sites that initiate their businesses by providing free services like free e-mail service or search service and providing several charged services. As the results, we can find that Portal sites should make the target of customers and focus them to maximize their profit. Portal sites should pay their marketing effort not for all customers but pertinent portions of customers. And Portal sites should make more efforts to efficiently develop and provision their services.

  • SCM(Supply Chain Management) have been introduced in many companies for integrated management and improvement of business process. Recently, as internet and e-business concept are spread globally, the SCM concept is expanded from one internal company process to inter-company process, it makes a Global SCM concept. In this paper, we discuss the implementation of the Global SCM concept using e-business infrastructure, and propose SCM portal models. Four types of the SCM portal model are discussed, which are forecasting information sharing model, e-Marketplace-typed model, collaboration model and logistics information sharing model. The major concept of the SCM portal is to share information of supply chain process, it provide merits of scale to company. The result of this paper can be summarized as follows : First, the information sharing is very useful in the Global SCM. Second, the e-business infrastructure, especially e-Marketplace can be usefully used for implementation of SCM portal. Third, the M2M(Market to Market) function of e-Marketplace is a major function for implementing SCM portal.

  • Government uses the Internet technology to create electronic Government(e-Government). E-Government is an on-going project, and it represents a strong intention of Korean government to make effective and smooth communication between Korean government and its people. To achieve this purpose, government portal sites is one of projects of e-government, being a common gateway for users to find information and to communicate with the government concerning many matters/any matter. However, user's attitudes and behaviors explaining why they intend to use government portal sites is a scant. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the determinants influencing users' intention to use government portal-sites. Starting with DeLone & McLean's Updated Information Success Model(2003), this study suggests three qualities(Information Quality, Systems Quality, and Service Quality) and two moderating effects(Ambiguity and Government Supports), which affect the perceived usefulness of government portal sites. Results show that the hypotheses were supported. The findings of the study suggest not only a new theoretical model for IS research, but also the important indicators of a successful usage of e-Government portal sites.

  • This paper predicts how mobile Internet portal services will go ahead and what contents will be needed at the portal site. Mobile Internet interface needs to be concise and compressed because of the size of terminals Thus mobile internal service wants integrated portal service We study the service strategy for mobile internet portal Service according to the product life cycle Many Korean people who have used 'wired and fixed' Internet services and mobile phones want the mobile Internet portal to provide many attractive functions and high quality of service Thus we consider the current Korean mobile Internet service as the maturity phase of its life cycle The maturity phase needs the strategy of diversifying and focusing on, thus we recommend the hub portal model for Korean mobile Internet service, In this paper, we survey contents of mobile Internet portal service as a case study. With the result of the analysis, we present the promising contents as follows: video conference service, financial service, stock trading service, traffic information service, location map service, emergency rescue service, and so on.

전자무역 포탈사이트의 서비스품질과 이용자만족도에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Analysis on the Service Quality and the User Satisfaction in e-Trade Portal Sites)

  • This paper examines the major determinants affecting the user satisfaction on e-Trade portal sites in small and medium-sized exporters. The development of our research model is based on the empirical studies on the service quality of information system, web sites or Internet shopping mall, and on the factors influencing the user satisfaction. With the help of a regression analysis and factor analysis, five hypotheses are derived and tested. The results from regression analysis suggest that the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is affected by information characteristics and ease of use of e-Trade portal sites. In addition, the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is enhanced by support for international trade. Our findings will be useful, especially for those who are planning to build user-oriented e-Trade portal sites.
