Improvement of Traffic Information Contents of Portal Site focused on User's Satisfaction (이용자 만족도 중심의 인터넷포탈 교통정보 콘텐츠 개선방안)

  • Recently, use frequency for traffic information which provides shortest paths and traffic condition is increasing. Specially, in the survey, it is shown that users prefer internet portal sites which can be used the most easily among traffic information media. But, there are not many verification systems for traffic information contents of internet portal sites which collect and provide information than traffic information contents which are provided by public service. The purpose of this study is to investigate real accuracy and accuracy felt by users about information provided by portal sites. Therefore, in this research we verified accuracy of information by portal site with real field data and investigate real usage about contents and experienced accuracy by users through survey. Also, users' expectation and satisfaction were surveyed and the contents to be improved were selected by using IPA technique. By the result of accuracy verification by field data using portable DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) devices, it is shown that average error was 14~32% and sometimes very high rate. Also, it is shown that 28.3 % of total respondents prefers the information by portal sites and 50 % of total respondents felt that contents of traffic information by portal sites are not accurate. Real-time traffic condition was selected as the most inaccurate one among all contents of traffic information and it was analyzed that intensive efforts for improving information about real-time traffic condition are needed.

The Influence of the Introduction of Smart Phone on Using Portal Sites: An Exploratory Study by the Analysis on Smart Phone Users' Web Traffic (스마트폰 도입이 포털사이트 이용에 미친 영향: 스마트폰 이용자의 웹 트래픽 분석을 통한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study is for empirical verification of the influence of the introduction of smart phone on using the portal sites that were affected the most in the previous media environment. To achieve this, Web traffic data that are the result of smart phone users' practical Web uses have collected longitudinally and analyzed. The research results are the following: First, the use hours of portal sites have decreased about 15% and the page views have did about 35%, since using smart phones was diffused and habituated in earnest during the past two years. Using the community, news media, video, mobile, and game section of portal site sections have reduced. Second, the portal site portion of using smart phone Web is much more than that portion of using PC Web. More than two thirds of smart phone Web use traffic occurs in using portal sites, while more than one third of PC Web use traffic does in using that. Using the news media section is the most of using portal site sections on a smart phone. Third, since the introduction of smart phone, using the news media, communication, and life section of portal site sections have greatly increased, while the community, mobile, and game section have greatly decreased in the aggregate.

  • This paper predicts how mobile Internet portal services will go ahead and what contents will be needed at the portal site. Mobile Internet interface needs to be concise and compressed because of the size of terminals Thus mobile internal service wants integrated portal service We study the service strategy for mobile internet portal Service according to the product life cycle Many Korean people who have used 'wired and fixed' Internet services and mobile phones want the mobile Internet portal to provide many attractive functions and high quality of service Thus we consider the current Korean mobile Internet service as the maturity phase of its life cycle The maturity phase needs the strategy of diversifying and focusing on, thus we recommend the hub portal model for Korean mobile Internet service, In this paper, we survey contents of mobile Internet portal service as a case study. With the result of the analysis, we present the promising contents as follows: video conference service, financial service, stock trading service, traffic information service, location map service, emergency rescue service, and so on.

  • Navigation or Portal sites is providing real-time information of roads according to heavy rain in guide services for finding a path recently. Especially "e-traffic alerts" is providing traffic information according to the presence of road flooding and accidents. This research is goal to provide drivers to real-time status information of roads which have the connected its information to support the real-time rainfall information of meteorological office and portal sites. We suggest the evaluation method of risk roads combined the real-time rainfall information and portal information.

  • IEEE 802.11를 비롯한 여러 무선 네트워크에서는 multi-rate을 활용한 시스템 성능향상에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그 중에 한가지 연구결과로 제안된 방법이 rDCF.이다. 만약 Mesh 네트워크에서 rDCF를 동작시킨다면, 시스템 throughput의 증가, Packet delay의 감소와 항께 채널상태에 따라 포워딩 전략을 다르게 함으로써 채널 error의 영향이 줄어들 것으로 기대해 볼 수 있다. 하지만 기존의 rDCF를 아무런 revision 없이 Mesh 네트워크에 적용하기에는 spatial reuse 측면에서 비효율적이다. Mesh 네트워크에서는 외부 네트워크와 access point 지점이 되는 portal쪽으로 traffic이 집중되는 것이 일반적이므로 portal에 가까울수록 traffic간의 contention도 가중되므로 시스템 전체 성능에 영향을 미치게 된다. 이러한 문제를 줄이기 위하여 무선 네트워크 환경에서 spatial reuse 측면을 향상시킴으로써 동시에 진행되는 communication 수를 늘리는 방법이 있다. 그러므로 본 논문에서 rDCF의 spatial reuse를 늘임으로써 좀더 Mesh Network위에서도 효율적으로 작동할 수 있는 기법을 제시하고자 한다.

Enhancement of Transportation Safety Service for Foreigner Residing in Ansan Through Analysis of Travel Behavior and Traffic Accident (안산거주 외국인 통행실태 및 교통사고 분석을 이용한 교통안전서비스 증진방안 연구)

  • There is a need to provide appropriate transportation safety services to foreigners residing in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to enhance transportation safety services for foreigners. In order to identify the risk of traffic accidents, analysis of traffic accidents was conducted using a survey of foreigner travel behavior. According to the results of this model, the study suggests directions to achieve improvement of traffic safety services for foreigners who are unfamiliar with the transportation systems. The study results show that the risk of traffic accidents is influenced by two factors: comprehension of transport geography and of traffic laws. Necessity of policy is influenced by two factors: comprehension of transportation system and the risk of traffic accidents. Intention of using policy is influenced by two factors: the risk of traffic accidents and necessity of policy. Effect of policy is affected by the intention of using policy. The results also demonstrate that the traffic safety services for foreigner can be described as endogenous variables which are approximately 88% of the traffic safety education, 85% of the demanded multicultural district, and 75% of the portal traffic information. Compared with existing research, this study provides a systematic methodology to evaluate effects and the order of priority in establishing traffic safety policies for foreigners.

  • In general, drivers need a self-interest information to decide their routes. So, non-governmental sectors, such as Internet Portal Company, make and provide user-oriented contents for drivers in a hurry. But, VMS which is the typical public media always provides traffic-information for drivers without weighting personal characteristics and considering transportation conditions. So in this research, we searched importance and preference of traffic-information contents as IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis)result. We can draw the conclusion that the improvement of traffic-information contents focused on users(drivers) is needed. Specially, we proposed the strategy of VMS according to traffic conditions.

The Development of Travel Demand Nowcasting Model Based on Travelers' Attention: Focusing on Web Search Traffic Information (여행자 관심 기반 스마트 여행 수요 예측 모형 개발: 웹검색 트래픽 정보를 중심으로)

  • Purpose Recently, there has been an increase in attempts to analyze social phenomena, consumption trends, and consumption behavior through a vast amount of customer data such as web search traffic information and social buzz information in various fields such as flu prediction and real estate price prediction. Internet portal service providers such as google and naver are disclosing web search traffic information of online users as services such as google trends and naver trends. Academic and industry are paying attention to research on information search behavior and utilization of online users based on the web search traffic information. Although there are many studies predicting social phenomena, consumption trends, political polls, etc. based on web search traffic information, it is hard to find the research to explain and predict tourism demand and establish tourism policy using it. In this study, we try to use web search traffic information to explain the tourism demand for major cities in Gangwon-do, the representative tourist area in Korea, and to develop a nowcasting model for the demand. Design/methodology/approach In the first step, the literature review on travel demand and web search traffic was conducted in parallel in two directions. In the second stage, we conducted a qualitative research to confirm the information retrieval behavior of the traveler. In the next step, we extracted the representative tourist cities of Gangwon-do and confirmed which keywords were used for the search. In the fourth step, we collected tourist demand data to be used as a dependent variable and collected web search traffic information of each keyword to be used as an independent variable. In the fifth step, we set up a time series benchmark model, and added the web search traffic information to this model to confirm whether the prediction model improved. In the last stage, we analyze the prediction models that are finally selected as optimal and confirm whether the influence of the keywords on the prediction of travel demand. Findings This study has developed a tourism demand forecasting model of Gangwon-do, a representative tourist destination in Korea, by expanding and applying web search traffic information to tourism demand forecasting. We compared the existing time series model with the benchmarking model and confirmed the superiority of the proposed model. In addition, this study also confirms that web search traffic information has a positive correlation with travel demand and precedes it by one or two months, thereby asserting its suitability as a prediction model. Furthermore, by deriving search keywords that have a significant effect on tourism demand forecast for each city, representative characteristics of each region can be selected.

  • Consumer Portal is defined as "a combination of hardware and software that enables two-way communication between energy service provider(ESP, like KEPCO) and equipment within the consumer's premises". The portal provides both a physical link(between wires, radio waves, and other media) and a logical link(translating among language-like codes and etiquette-like protocols) between in-building and wide-area access networks. Thus, the consumer portal is an important, open public shared infrastructure in the future vision of energy services. In this paper, we describe a new methodology for local communication and computer network capacity design of consumer portal, and also presents capacity calculation method using a network system limitation factors. By the approach, we can check into the limitations of existing methods, and propose an improved data processing algorithm that can expand the maximum number of the networked end-use devices up to $30{\sim}40$ times. For validation, we applies the proposed methode to our real system design. Our contribution will help electrical power information network design.

  • This study aims to bound the preliminary material for the disabled to provide personalized information systematically and effectively. In order to carry out this study, reference research and survey are conducted the disabled, protector, professional, researcher and teacher. The result, disabled and the persons involved in primary source of disability was a portal site. Critical information types were job board, mobile access to (traffic) information on the information, and medical institutions and so on. Also, Able-bodied compared to the importance of information for disabled people was low and acquisition of data feel it is hard and availability of critical information types, depending on the types of disability and acquisition the difference appeared.
