반용융 Al-Zn-Mg합금의 고온 압출 시 특성 평가 (Characteristics on the Hot Extrusion of Semi-Solid Al-Zn-Mg Alloy)

  • Semi-solid Al-Zn-Mg alloys were produced by using a cooling plate method in order to investigate the extrudability. Al melt was poured on cooling plate which was adjusted at $60^{\circ}$ with respect to the horizontal plane, and the melt was cooled by water circulation underneath. Obtained Semi-solid feedstock has globular microstructure but also contains considerable amount of gas pore. Due to the pore, tensile elongation of the semi-solid feedstock was very low and it doesn't show yield point phenomenon. Isothermal hot extrusion was carried out using at $400^{\circ}C$ with a ram speed of 1mm/sec and an extrusion ratio of 25:1. The extruded bar show noticeably improved tensile ductility and strength because pore volume fraction decreased from 5% to 0.8% after extrusion. Mechanical properties of the semi-solid extruded bar were compared with that of commercial casting alloy.

Influence of Heating Rate and Temperature on Carbon Structure and Porosity of Activated Carbon Spheres from Resole-type Phenolic Beads

  • Activated carbon spheres (ACS) were prepared at different heating rates by carbonization of the resole-type phenolic beads (PB) at $950^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$ atmosphere followed by activation of the resultant char at different temperatures for 5 h in $CO_2$ atmosphere. Influence of heating rate on porosity and temperature on carbon structure and porosity of ACS were investigated. Effect of heating rate and temperature on porosity of ACS was also studied from adsorption isotherms of nitrogen at 77 K using BET method. The results revealed that ACS have exhibited a BET surface area and pore volume greater than $2260\;m^2/g$ and $1.63\;cm^3/g$ respectively. The structural characteristics variation of ACS with different temperature was studied using Raman spectroscopy. The results exhibited that amount of disorganized carbon affects both the pore structure and adsorption properties of ACS. ACS were also evaluated for structural information using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy. ACS were evaluated for chemical composition using CHNS analysis. The ACS prepared different temperatures became more carbonaceous material compared to carbonized material. ACS have possessed well-developed pores structure which were verified by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). SEM micrographs also exhibited that ACS have possessed well-developed micro- and meso-pores structure and the pore size of ACS increased with increasing activation temperature.

  • Activated Carbon Fibers (ACFs) are widely used as adsorbents in technologies related to pollution abatement due to their highly porous structure and large adsorption capacity. The porous structure and surface area of ACFs depends strongly on both the activation processes arid the nature .of the precursors. The chemical activation with hydroxides has recently been, of great interest as it permits the preparation of activated carbon fibers with highly developed porosity. In this work, OXI-PAN fiber used as precursor for the preparation of activated carbon fibers by chemical activation with KOH and NaOH. The affects of several activation conditions on the surface properties, pore size distribution and adsorption capacity of Ag ion and Iodine ion on ACFs studied.

콩 첨가 증편의 Dextran과 내부구조에 관한 연구 (Study on the Dextran and the Inside Structure of Jeung-Pyun of Adding Soybean)

  • Jeung-Pyun Is a traditional fermented Korean food made with rice flour, water, sugar salt and unrefined rice wine(Tak-ju). In order to investigate how the addition of soybean and dextran have an influence on Jeung-Pyun fermentation and forming structure of Jeun-Pyun, adding soybean 20% and dextran 1%based on rice weight, we measured physicochemical properties. Also we measured dextran content of Jeung-Pyun batter according to the fermentation time and observed the inside of Jeung-Pyun by SEM in order to find out air pore condition. The dextran content of rice Jeung-Pyun and Jeung-Pyun adding soybean 20% was gradually increased as fermentation time was longer and Jeung-Pyun adding soybean 20% was higher than rice Jeung-Pyun. The specific volume of rice Jeung-Pyun and Jeung-Pyun adding soybean 20% was increased up to a fermentation time of 7~ 10 hours but it was decreased as fermentation time was longer. In the inside structure of Jeung-Pyun observed by SEM, the fermentation condition of Jeung-Pyun fermented for 3 and 7 hour was better and air pore size became larger, the number of it was decreased as fermentation time was longer. The air pore size of soybean 20% Jeung-Pyun is smaller more uniform than that of rice Jeung-Pyun. In conclusion. it can be suggested that the audition of soybean improves the quality of Jeung-Pyun and dextran has an influence on fermentation and forming structure of Jeung-Pyun.

Effect of Solvent on Swelling, Porosity and Morphology of Transparent Poly (HEMA)

  • Transparent materials are well known but preparation of transparent poly 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate {poly (HEMA)} material by varying solvent is a new one and economically reliable. This material is prepared from hydroxyl based monomer HEMA by radical polymerization using benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as initiator and isobutanol, 2-butanol, 1-butanol, hexane and toluene as a solvent. The reaction temperature, time and stirring speed were set at $70^{\circ}C$, 4 hrs and 150 rpm, respectively. The polymer was characterized for functional group by IR spectroscopy. It was observed that the intensity of band at $1637 cm^{-1}$ a characteristic band of C=C stretching disappeared indicating that it was completely consumed after polymerization. It was observed that swelling percentage increases with increase as time passes but after a certain time a constant swelling percentage is achieved. SEM pictures reveals that poly (HEMA) prepared by different solvent shows pore with a distinguishable void up to several micrometers. The BET surface area, cumulative pore volume and average pore diameter is greater in poly (HEMA) prepared by hexane as a solvent compared to other solvents. Poly (HEMA) prepared by 1-butanol as a solvent shows higher glass transition temperature compared to other solvents. Poly (HEMA) prepared by different solvents shows $90{\sim}94%$ light transmission property from light transmission measurement and looks transparent.

  • 폴리머 혼화제로서 styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR)라텍스, ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA)에멀젼 및 polyacrylic ester(PAE)에멀젼을 사용하여 동일한 스럼프에서 폴리머-시멘트비를 변화시켜 공시체를 제조하여, 압축과 휨강도시험, 흡수시험, 세공분포측정 및 미세구조 관찰 등을 실시하였다. 그 결과 폴리머-시멘트비의 증가와 더불어 압축과 휨강도 모두 향상되었고, 동해에 큰 영향을 주는 모세관 공극범위의 세공량은 감소되었으며, 폴리머 시멘트비 15wt% 이상에서 연속적인 폴리머필름이 형성되었다.

한외여과에 의한 온주 밀감주스의 성분 변화 (Changes in the Constituents of Citrus Juice by Ultrafiltration)

  • 제주산 온주 밀감 주스의 제품화 기술개발에 필요한 기초자료를 얻기 위하여 공극의 크기가 서로 다른 네종류의 한외여과 막을 사용하여 잔류액과 투과액의 성분 변화를 조사하였다. 공극의 크기에 따른 감소율은 총산, citric acid, ascorbic acid 유리당, neohesperidin은 10K에서 100K daltons 사이에서는 막의 공극 크기가 커짐에 따라서 증가하다가 500K daltons에서 감소하였다. 색도, 당도, 총 질소, 아미노태 질소, naringin, hesperidin의 함량은 막 공극의 크기에 따른 차이가 적거나 일정한 경향을 나타내지 않았다. 한외여과 처리를 한 결과 구연산이 감소하여, 당산비가 증가하였다. 연구된 한외여과 막 중 flux가 가장 높고, 성분들의 감소율이 가장 적은 500K daltons 막이 온주 밀감 주스 제조시 가장 적합할 것으로 생각된다.

Network 모델을 이용한 입상여과공정의 전이상태 해석에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Transient State of Deep Bed Filtration by the Network Model)

  • 현탁액중의 부유입자를 제거하는 입상여과공정을 Network 모델을 이용하여 여과효율과 압력손실에 대해 예측하였다. 구형 여재로 구성되어 있는 여재 층을 node와 원통형 bond로 구성된 network로 가정하였으며 여과 공정을 통해 부유입자는 bond 표면에 포집된다. 원통형 bond에서의 여과효율은 bond의 세공부피를 단위 cell의 유체 막 부피로 가정하여 입자의 경로 분석을 이용하여 구하였으며, 포집된 부유입자가 추가적인 여재로서의 역할은 bond 세공이 좁아짐에 따른 효율 증가로 나타내었다. 또한 세공이 좁아짐에 따른 압력손실도 예측하였다. 본 network 모델의 세공 분포를 부여하는 과정의 stochastic한 성질로 인하여 많은 전산모사가 필요하지만, 본 모델을 이용하여 여과효율과 압력손실을 동시에 예측할 수 있었다.

陽이온 交換한 天然 제올라이트에 依한 有機黃化合物의 液相吸着 特性 (Liquid Phase Adsorption Properties of Organo Surfur Compounds on Cation Exchanged Natural Zeolites)

  • 陽이온 交換한 天然제올라이트에 依한 有機黃化合物의 液相吸着特性을 考察하였다. 平衡吸着量은 天然제올라이트의 交換한 陽이온과 吸着質인 有機黃化合物의 構造에 影響을 받고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 平衡吸着量은 메르캅탄(mercaptane), 설파이드(sulfide), 디설파이드(disulfide), 치오펜(thiopen) 順으로 減小하였으며, 치오펜 誘導體의 경우는 ${\pi}$ 電子가 많아짐에 따라 吸着能은 교환 이온의 polarizing power에 比例하였다. 吸着速度로부터 有機黃化合物의 吸着은 pore 내의 擴散이 律速段階임을 알수 있었고, 水分과 같은 작은 吸着質은 micro pore에 吸着이 일어나는 反面, 有機黃化合物은 transitional-pore에 吸着이 일어났다.

  • 透析係數가 常數로서 나타날 수 있는 條件究明의 一環으로서 透析液 單位體積當의 透析膜面積인 比表面積과 透析膜孔의 크기가 透析에 미치는 영향을 究明하였다. 1回의 透析實驗에서 任意時間區間마다 任意부피의 透析液試料를 잇따라 菜取하는 方法(間歇試料菜取法이라 呼稱하기로 함)은 透析係數를 求하는 方法으로서 採擇할 수 있음과, 또한 透析膜孔이 상당히 크더라도 膜을 通한 擴散係數는 自由擴散係數에 미치지 못함을 밝히었다.
