Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of $(Pb, Nd)(Ti, Mn)O_3$ Ceramics ($(Pb, Nd)(Ti, Mn)O_3$ 세라믹의 유전 및 압전특성)

  • Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of (Pb1-1.5xLnx)(Ti0.98Mn0.02)O3 ceramics with x=0~0.2 have been investigated. Pb(Ti0.98Mn0.02)O3 showed poor sinterability and cracking on cooling, but the substitution of Nd3+ ions into Pb2+ sites resulted in dense microstructures without cracking through reducing crystallographic anisotropy. The Nd3+ substitution, however, deteriorated the temperature stability of the piezoelectric properties because of lowering the Curie point. Electromechanical anisotropy(Kt/Kp) indicated a maximum value of 10 when x=0.1. This result might be attributed to the counteracting effects that with increasing x, the lattice anisotropy decreases while the poling becomes easier due to the increase in O2- vacancy concentration. Thickness-shear mode resonators with (Pb0.85Nd0.1)(Ti0.98Mn0.02)O3 composition showed good resonant characteristics around 4.5 MHz.

  • Chattering-free sliding mode control is derived from the reaching law method and Lyapunov stability theorem. Its control input Is composed of continuous term and discontinuous term. By the combination of these terms, the robustness and tracking performance can be improved and the chattering can be avoided. But in the reaching mode, the sliding mode control is sensitive to the modeling uncertainties, parameter variations and disturbances, also it needs a large control input. These result in poor transient responses. In this paper, to overcome these problems in the reaching mode, a time-varying sliding surface is proposed.   • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluated the process of model analysis, design, and production for a full mouth prosthetic rehabilitation of function, esthetics, and pronunciation. Methods: This is a case report of class III malocclusion with a severe anterior incisor occlusion and a prosthetic treatment of patient with poor occlusion of posterior teeth. A provisional restoration based on the diagnostic wax-up was applied to the patient. And then functions, esthetics, and occlusal stability were observed during 4 week tracking period. Final restorations were delivered and evaluated based on a systematic analysis, diagnosis and treatment plan. Results: We confirms that this case study obtained the satisfactory results in terms of functions and esthetics. Conclusion : If we can give the patient the continuous evaluation and progress monitoring, we expect the dentist and the dental technician to design the prosthesis successfully.

Status quo Analysis on the Clothing Practice of Automaker′s Uniform (자동자 제조업체 근로자의 작업복 착의실태 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse on the clothing practice of automaker's uniform and to investigate the relationship between wearing sense of worker's uniform and overall comfort according to working environment and working types. The data were collected from 184 automakers using questionnaire and interview of a officer for uniform management. Working environment was relatively comfortable, but the worker in special working area needed to control the working environment and adopted the protective equipment. The dissatisfaction of clothing practice of uniform was shown high in design and material. The order of preference in the color was blue, navy, blue, gray, green. In case of taking care of uniform, sewing durability and shape stability were poor in comparison with washing easiness. The correlation between overall comfort and wearing sense of uniform as sense of wearing and taking off, texture and movement function, was relatively high, but it appeared the low correlation in physiological comfort.

Digital DC power supply for light accelerator

  • There are 70 vertical and 70 horizontal correctors for Pohang Light Source. Until mid of 2000, power supplies for these correctors were based on 1990's technology, so the global orbit feedback system was not possible with poor 12 bit resolution. A new task force team was assembled to develop new power supplies with BESSY type DAC cards. After the project, two vertical correctors in each lattice were connected with new power supplies, and the global orbit feedback was available within the accuracy of 5 microns. However, this replacement was not enough to satisfy the beam stability requirement of 2 microns for PLS. We have launched another power supply design based on all digital technology. This attempt was completed within a year, and 80 units were assembled in house. Currently, the global orbit feedback system is running successfully with new digital power supplies and the compensation of chamber motion due to the thermal load by using digital displacement transducers attached on each BPMs.

  • From the using CWR (Continuously Welded Rail) on steel plate girder bridges without ballast, axial forces are occurred from a temperature on CWR and girders. Because of the additional axial forces, studies in order to CWR and developments of devices are proceeding. The track system of steel plate girder bridges is poor. When CWR is used for the system, the resistance on sleepers is increased from a temperature. So it is increasing an effect on CWR and, for solving the effect, longitudinal forces for buckle are being decreased. It is possible that opposite cases can be happened and it is also compared and studied. Therefore, we present a reasonable model for analyzing CWR within the property of steel plate girder railway bridges in Korea. Furthermore, the results analyzed for stability is compared and evaluated with tests. Finally, a reasonable method for the installation of CWR on bridges without ballast is suggested.

  • Application of ceramics, carbide, ferrite has grown considerably due to significant improvement in their mechanical properties such as light weight chemical stability super wear resistance and electronical. Despite these character, the use of hi-tech material has not increased because of poor machinability. The method of using of metal bond wheel was proposed. But it is difficult that metal bond wheel can be dressed. Recently, the technology of in-process electrolytic dressing is developed to solve this problem. This method need wheel for electrolytic dressing, power supply and electrolyte. But development of wheel for electrolytic dressing is the most need. A Study on On-Line Quality Monitoring Using Arc Light in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW에서 아크 빛을 이용한 실시간 용접품질 모니터링에 관한 연구)

  • Gas metal arc welding(GMAW) is regarded as one of the best candidate for welding automation in industrial joining application. It is important to monitor the weld quality for the high performance weld automation. In GMAW, weld quality is closely related to arc stability especially. In this paper, arc light signal is measured and spectrum analyzed to the detect the variation of the weld quality. The FFT of the signal showed that the amplitude variance of FFT power spectrum was very large in poor weld process such as the decrease of weld bead width and height. The results show that it is possible to detect the weld defect position in weld process.

  • The control process involving pure time delays presents a continuing challenge to the control system engineer. The nonlinear nature of the delay which can be introduced into the system make the use of conventional control algorithms a poor prospect. The Smith Predictor was developed to alleviate this problem. Unfortunately the quality of control achieved with the Smith Predictor is known to be sensitive to modelling errors. Only recently have researchers attempted to quantify the Smith Predictor controller's robustness to modelling errors. In several studies stability boundaries were plotted as functions of errors in parameters. But the research results address the question of performance of Smith Predictor controllers, In this paper, the Rule based Expert Systems for performance improvement of the Smith Predictor controller are developed.

  • In this paper, we present an effective viewpoint estimation algorithm for the Moving parallax barrier method of 3D display mobile device. Moving parallax barrier is designed to overcome the biggest problem, the limited view angle. To accomplish it, the position of the viewer's eyes or face should be estimated with strong stability and no latency. We focus on these requirements in the poor performance of mobile processors. We used a pre-processing algorithm in order to overcome the various illumination changes. And, we combined the conventional Viola-Jones face detection method and Optical-flow algorithm for robust and stable viewpoint estimation. Various computer simulations prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
