An Efficient PEG/CaCl2-Mediated Transformation Approach for the Medicinal Fungus Wolfiporia cocos

  • Sclerotia of Wolfiporia cocos are of medicinal and culinary value. The genes and molecular mechanisms involved in W. cocos sclerotial formation are poorly investigated because of the lack of a suitable and reproducible transformation system for W. cocos. In this study, a PEG/CaCl2-mediated genetic transformation system for W. cocos was developed. The promoter Pgpd from Ganoderma lucidum effectively drove expression of the hygromycin B phosphotransferase gene in W. cocos, and approximately 30 transformants were obtained per 10 μg DNA when the protoplast suspension density was 106 protoplasts/ml. However, no transformants were obtained under the regulation of the PtrpC promoter from Aspergillus nidulans.

  • Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) has been etched by sputtering in the presence of argon gas and the resulting surface modifications investigated via weight loss, time of water permeation, half value period, scanning electron microscope(SEM) and color difference measurements. According to increasing sputter etching time, weight loss increased, the time of water permeation and half value period of the sputter etched PET fabrics decreased. Color depth of fabrics increased by increasing sputter etching time. We investigated the fabric surface modification by SEM. Many microcraters on the fabric surface formed by the sputter etching resulted in increase of surface area of the fabric and wettability.

  • This is a study of measurement of inter Reading Pupillary Distance (P.D.) in 729 old aged farmers (aged over 50). The average of Reading Pupillary Distance (P.D.) in man (58.93mm) is bigger than in woman (57.82mm), and the O.C. of Ready-made Reading Spectacles is 68.98mm.

  • 오픈소스는 소스코드를 무료로 공개하여 누구나 쉽게 사용하고 공유 할 수 있도록 만든 소프트웨어 이다. 누구나 열람할 수 있는 오픈소스의 특성상 보안에 취약하고 소프트웨어의 구조적 오류가 발생 할 수 있다. 필요한 기능을 손쉽고 편리하게 사용할 수 있다는 장점이 있지만, 검증되지 오픈소스는 해커와 같은 외부 공격에 취약점을 노출시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 오픈소스의 취약점을 Adobe Flash Player의 사례를 통해 알아보고 취약점 해결방안을 고찰해 봄으로써 오픈소스를 사용하면서 발생할 수 있는 문제점을 보완하고자 하였다.

  • 모바일 기기를 이용하는 인터넷 서비스가 증가하고 있다. 반면 응용소프트웨어의 보안 허점을 노린 바이러스, 웜, 악성코드는 나날이 증가하여 개인은 물론 기업, 국가차원의 대책이 요구되고 있다. 악성코드는 악의적인 목적을 위해 작성된 코드를 통칭하며 시스템 성능저하, 개인정보 유출, 파일 감염 및 손상을 입힌다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 기기의 악성코드 종류, 증상, 감염경로를 알아보고, 보안 취약성에 대한 학부생의 인식도를 조사하여 예방하는데 그 목적을 둔다. 이러한 인식도 조사를 통해 모바일 악성코드에 대한 학부생의 인식을 향상시키고, 기초 예방만으로도 쉽게 감염률을 낮출 수 있도록 백신을 설치하고 수시로 업데이트하여 이용자들에게 악성코드 감염 증상과 사례의 심각함을 알려줌으로써 예방 인식도를 함양 시킬 수 있다.

A Study of Sunglasses being sold in Domestic (국내에서 시판되고 있는 선글라스에 관한 연구)

  • By applying the test methods of "Protection Eyewear Standard (KS P 8147)", "Glasses Frame Standard (KS G 3306)" and "Lens Standard for Sunglasses (KS P 4404)", this study analyzed optical functions of sunglasses now being sold in a road shop (A shop), a fashion goods store (B shop), a shop of highway rest area (C shop) and an optical shop (D shop). When compared with sunglasses (UV transmittance rate 8.8%) of a road shop, UV Block effects of sunglasses (UV transmittance rate 0.7%) of an optical shop showed good results. In addition, the average surface resistance against abrasion for sunglasses which was sold at an optical shop was 1.4% that was much higher than that of sunglasses of a road shop(2.2%).

  • This work presents experimental results on the electrical properties of hydrogenated amorphous carbon films(a-C : H) prepared by PECVD. Conductance of a-C: H was measured as a function of temperatures in the range of 100 to 423K. We studied two a -C: H films: one was well explanied by the Mott's variable range hopping(VRH) rule. But the other sample did not follow it. The conduction data of second sample were well fitted to Shimakawa's multi-phonon hopping(MPH) model according to which conductivity is proportional to Tm with m= 15~17. But, in our samples, m was 10~12.
