Positive Type Photoresist for Patterning of Interdielectric Layer of TFT Array

  • Synthesis of two photoactive compounds containing core imide moiety was carried out for an application to interdielectric layer in TFTLCD array. An aqueous alkaline developable polymer matrix was synthesized by free radical copolymerization. A positive photoresist formulation was developed utilizing synthesized UV monomers, photoactive compound, binder polymer, sulfactant and alkali developable polymer matrix. It was found that via-holes with good resolution, high transmittance and thermal resistance could be obtained by photolithographic process utilizing the new positive interdielectric material with high thermal stability.

Molecular Shapes of Star-Polystyrenes with Various Arms in Solutions Determined using X-Ray Scattering

  • The physical properties of well-defined star-shape polystyrenes with high number of arms (6 to 57 arms) in good and theta solvents were studied using synchrotron X-ray scattering. The scattering profiles for multi-armed polystyrenes shown the molecular shape is changed according to increasing of number of arm. From various parameters which were obtained from scattering profiles, the molecular shape was determined more detail. As results, the molecular shape was changed from a fuzzy-ellipsoid for 6-armed PS to a fuzzy-sphere sphere for 57-armed PS according to increasing of number of arm.

Designing of a Novel Core-Shell-Structured Co-free Cathode Material with Enhanced Thermal and Structural Stability for Lithium Ion Batteries

  • The first commercialized cathode material, $LiCoO_2$, suffers from disadvantages such as high cost and toxicity and also possesses safety problems. The nickel-rich $LiNi_{0.9}Mn_{0.1}O_2$ cathode material, used as an alternative to $LiCoO_2$, has highly reversible capacity and high energy density. So, the nickel-rich $LiNi_{0.9}Mn_{0.1}O_2$ cathode material is widely used as an alternative to $LiCoO_2$ due to its highly reversible capacity and high energy density. However, $LiNi_{0.9}Mn_{0.1}O_2$ has several disadvantages as well, such as poor cycle performance and poor thermal instability. To address these problems, we synthesized a new material, $LiNi_{0.5}Mn_{0.5}O_2$, as a shell on the surface of a core to suppress the surface degradation. The new material showed high structural and thermal stabilities and could also maintain a high capacity. The capacity retention of the core-shell cathode (87.7%) was better than that of the core cathode (76.9%) after 50 cycles. Analysis using differential scanning calorimetry revealed that the heat generation in the core-shell cathode ($65.9Jg^{-1}$) was lower than that in the core cathode ($559.7Jg^{-1}$).

  • In this paper, the modeling and control of electrostrictive polymer is introduced for endoscopic microcapsule. The endoscopic microcapsule works in the body, so the material of robot must be no harmful to the body. The electrostrictive polymer satisfies this condition. The modeling and control of endoscope microcapsule must be processed. So the modeling and control of electrostrictive was processed preferentially. The electrostrictive polymer is so flexible that we considered the electrostrictive polymer as flexible membrane. The dynamic equation of flexible membrane is time variant in electrostrictive polymer. It is the reason that the elastic modulus of electrostrictive polymer is very small and changes as deformation of electrostrictive polymer. The control algorithm must overcome these characteristics. So the algorithm of adaptive fuzzy control was used to control. In this paper, we introduced the dynamic modeling and control of electrostrictive polymer. And its deformation is introduced.

  • Vulcanized natural rubber was pulverized using a single screw extruder in a non-cryogenic Solid Shear Extrusion process where rubber granulates were subjected to high compressive and shear stresses. The producted particles had diameters ranging from 40 to 1200$\{mu}m$. A principle used in this paper was developed in Russia. The development method for producing a polymeric material powder consists in compressing said material by shearing the material during a pressure increase and cooling. Consecutive breakdown is carried out by shearing the material during the pressure decrease and cooling.

Polycondensation of ε-Caprolactone in the Layer Spaces of Organophilic Montmorillonite and Its Characterization

  • The polymerization of $\varepsilon-caprolactone$ in the layers of the [DEACOOH]-Montmorillonite intercalations complex was attempted using 10-Carboxy-n-decyldimethylethylammonium bromide and Na-Montmorillonite to achieve [DEACOOH]-Polycaprolactone-Montmorillonite in which the inorganic material (montmorillonite) and the organic material (polycaprolactone) are chemically linked each other. The results of X-ray- and IR-analysis for the samples obtained after polymerization showed that the polymerization reaction has been successfully accomplished. In order to study the polymeric reaction products more precisely we have separated the polymerized product from the silicate layers and analyzed it with X-ray diffractometer, IR-spectrometer and TEM. The comparison of the results of X-ray- and IR-analysis for the separated polymer with them for the polymer which was synthesized by the reaction of $\varepsilon-caprolactone$ only with the organic cation without montmorillonite showed that the obtained both polymers are the same compounds.

  • Electroluminescence(EL) from conjugated polymers has recently received great attention because polymer light-emitting diodes(LEDs) clealy have potential for applications such as large-area displays. The operation of polymer LEDs is based on double injection of electrons and holes from the elextrodes, followed by formation of excitons whose radiative decay results in light emission at wavelength characteristic to the material. In this paper, we fabricated the single layer EL device using $Alq_3$ as emitting material. According as turn on voltage could know about 5.5V in voltage-current characteristics and voltage rise, current could see that increase as non-linear. Current and ruminance can see that express similar relativity in voltage, and could know that ruminance is expressing current relativity.

  • In this study, It is to synthesize PPV-copolymer and to make polymer electroluminesence device in single layer of ITO/PPV -copolymer/metal. and then it has been realized basic characteristics for display device through analysis and recognized application possibility by luminous material. PPV-copolymer is used spin coating method and electrode is evaporated of vacuum deposition method by changing materials. The result of experiment, The PPV-copolymer used this study emitted blue color, could be discovered a change of emttion characteristic by electrode material.

코팅재로서 MMA 개질 폴리머 페이스트의 내구성능 평가 (Evaluation of Durability on MMA-Modified Polymer Paste for Coating materials)

  • In this study, MMA-modified paste of coating material for protecting the concrete structures was developed. The coating material was applied to cement concrete specimens by brush, roller and spray in each of which one, two and three layers to survey, by the cold-hot iterative test, the neutralization test, the chloride ion permeation test and the ante-abrasion test, the affect of painting methods and layers influencing on the durability of coating material. Results of the cold-hot iterative test showed that, regardless of the painting methods and layers, the defects such as crack or fuzz on surface were not produced. As the number of painting layers increased, the neutralization prevention as well as the chloride ion permeation prevention effects were increased. On the other hand, no difference was found between the painting methods. Reducing weight by abrasion of polymer paste coating material was $20\%$ comparing to that of cement mortar.

The operation of polymer LEDs is based on double injection of electrons and holes from the electrodes, followed by formation of excitons whose radiative decay results in light emission at wavelength characteristic to the material In this paper, we fabricated the single layer EL device using poly(3-octylthiophene)[P3OT] as emitting material. The orange-red light was clearly visible in a dark room Maximum peak wavelength of EL spectrum saw at 640nm in accordance with photon energy 1.9eV. And we know that ionization energy of P3OT is 4.7eV from the cyclic voltammetry.
