국내 시판 의류용 투습방수소재의 투습방수 성능평가 (The Evaluation of Water Vapor Transport and Waterproofness Properties of the Waterproof and Breathable Fabrics)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the waterproofness and water vapor transport properties of 30 waterproof and breathable textiles in the market. MVTR upright cup test with water, MVTR inverted cup test with potassium acetate, and sweating hot plate test method were used for measuring the breathability of fabric samples. The waterproofness of all fabric samples and evaporative resistance of garment ensembles made with 5 selected waterproof and breathable textiles out of 30 samples were tested. The results of this study were as follows. The base fabrics of the most samples were basic weave structure with either polyester or nylon fiber. The waterproofness was over $5000mmH_2O$ for all the samples except densely woven fabrics. The evaporative resistance of garments that were made out of 5 fabric samples with a range of low to high breathability ranged $39.9{\sim}56.7m^2{\cdot}P{\cdot}W^{-1}$. The data of the water vapor transport properties of fabric samples varied with different test methods. Overall the bicomponent film fabrics showed better breathability and less standard deviation regardless of test methods. It is expected the breathability data without the information of test conditions used for marketing would confuse the consumers and the apparel manufacturers.

  • A light-emitting diode (LED) has been increasingly applied to various industrial fields and general lightings because of its high efficiency, low power consumption, environment-friendly characteristic and long lifetime. To drive the LED lighting, a power converter with the constant output current is needed. Among many power converters, the flyback converter is chosen by many converter designers due to high power density, structural simplicity, and miniaturization. In this converter, an electrolytic capacitor is generally chosen for the stabilization of the DC voltage because of having the large capacitance and the low price. However, the disadvantages are the short expected life time and 120Hz ripple currents on the converter output node. In this paper, a single-stage dimmable PFC DCM flyback converter without the electrolytic capacitor is proposed to prolong the lifetime of the LED driver. For the long lifetime of the converter, the polyester film capacitor with the small capacitance is substituted for the electrolytic capacitor on the output node and an LC resonant filter is added to damp 120Hz ripple current. The proposed converter is verified through the simulation and the experimental works.

피로포스포릭 락톤 변성폴리에스테르를 함유한 폴리우레탄 난연도료의 물성 및 난연효과 (Physical Properties and Flame Retardant Effects of Polyurethane Coatings Containing Pyrophosphoric Lactone Modified Polyesters)

  • Pyrophosphoric lactone modified polyester(PATT) that contains two phosphorous functional groups in one unit base resin structure was synthesized to prepare a non-toxic reactive flame retardant coatings. Then the PATT was cured at room temperature with isocyanate, Desmodur IL, to get a two-component polyurethane flame retardant coatings(PIPUC). Comparing the physical properties of the films of PIPUC with the film of non-flame retardant coatings, there was no degradation observed in physical properties by the introduction of a flame-retarding component into the resin. We found that the char lengths measured by $45^{\circ}$Meckel burner method were $3.1{\sim}4.4cm$ and LOI values recorded $27{\sim}30%$. These results indicate that the coatings prepared in this study is good flame retardant one. The surface structure of coatings investigated with SEM does not show any defects and phase separation.

  • Polyethylene terephtahalate has been used in several areas such as fiber, film, bottle, and disposable products. Production of PET has been rapidly increasing these days. Since PET is a semi-permanent material, it has a non-biodegradable character in itself. Wasted PET products can cause serious environmental problems. Many countries around the world impose environmental legal restrictions over their abandonments. Many researches on the enviromental influence factors and treatment techniques of the wasted PET have been carried out. The main objective of this study is to develop a new sizing agent using recycling PET and improve its internal sizing effect. Dried powder of PET was used to make the modified PET. After extracting water-dispersible PET by subcritical hydrolysis, polyester resins have been extracted and triphenyl phosphate(TPP) has been added to obtain optimal internal sizing agent. It was found that the optimum dosage of TPP was 2% (per PET weight) and the hydrolysis temperature was independent on making the modified PET.

  • Polymer composites based on a thermotropic liquid-crystalline polymer (TLCP) and poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT) were prepared using a melt blending process. Polymer composites consisting of bulk cheap polyester with a small quantity of expensive TLCP are of interest from a commercial perspective. The interactions between the PBT chains and the flexible poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) units in the TLCP phase resulted in an improvement in the compatibility of PBT/TLCP composites. TLCP droplets deformed and fragmented into smaller droplets in the PBT/TLCP composites, which resulted in TLCP fibrillation through the effective deformation of the TLCP droplets. The nucleation activities of the PBT/TLCP composites increased by adding even a small amount of the TLCP component.

  • 유기합성적으로 제조된 지방족 폴리에스테르의 일종인 polycaprolactone (PCL)을 $27^\circ{C}$$37^\circ{C}$로 온도를 달리한 활성오니토양에 66일간 매립하여 토양미생물에 의해 분해된 PCL 필름의 표면변화를 관찰하고, PCL을 분해하는 토양진균과 토양세균을 분리, 동정하였다. PCL을 탄소원과 에너지원으로 이용하는 토양진균으로는 Paecilomyces fumosoroseus KH27, Penicillium digitatum KH28, Fusarium solani KH29와 Aspergillus sp. KH30, 토양세균으로는 Ochrobactrum anthropi KH3l이 분리되었다. $27^\circ{C}$에서는 P. digitatum KH28이 가장 높은 PCL 분해능(46%)을 보였고, $37^\circ{C}$에서는 O. anthropi KH31의 분해능(52%)이 가장 우수하였다.

  • There has been growing concern about the toxicity of phthalate esters. Phthalate esters are being used widely for the production of perfume, nail varnish, hairsprays and other personal/cosmetic uses. Recently, exposure to phthalates has been assessed by analyzing urine for their metabolites. The parent phthalate is rapidly metabolized to its monoester (the active metabolite) and also glucuronidated, then excreted. The objective of this study is to evaluate the toxicity of phthalic acid (PA), which is the final common metabolic form of phthalic acid esters (PAEs). The individual PA isomers are extensively employed in the synthesis of synthetic agents, for example isophthalic acid (IPA), and terephthalic acid (TPA), which have very broad applications in the preparation of phthalate ester plasticizers and components of polyester fiber, film and fabricated items. There is a broad potential for exposure by industrial workers during the manufacturing process and by the general public (via vehicle exhausts, consumer products, etc). This review suggests that PA shows in vitro and in vivo toxicity (mutagenicity, developmental toxicity, reproductive toxicity, etc.). In addition, PA seems to be a useful biomarker for multiple exposure to PAEs in humans.

다양한 폴리올을 갖는 수분산 폴리우레탄의 특성 비교 (Comparison of Properties of Waterborne Polyurethanes Containing Various Polyols)

  • 3-Methyl-1,5-pentanediol (MPD)/1,6-hexane diol (HD)/1,4-butanediol (BD)과 adipic acid (A)로부터 얻어진 에스터 폴리올(A/BD/MPD 및 A/BD)과 카보네이트 폴리올(C/HD/MPD, C/HD, C/BD)과 에터 폴리올 [poly(tetramethylene oxide glycol), PTMG]과 같은 3 종류의 폴리올을 사용한 수 분산 폴리우레탄(WPU) 에멀젼(평균 입도: 59 ~ 71 nm)을 제조하였다. 본 연구는 폴리올 분자구조(소프트 세그먼트의 분자구조)가 WPU의 특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 초점을 맞추었다. 소프트 세그먼트 Tg (Tgs), 100% 탄성률 및 인장강도는 카보네이트 폴리올을 사용한 경우가 가장 높고 그 다음이 에스터 폴리올이며 에터 폴리올이 가장 낮게 나타났으나, 신도의 경우는 이와 반대의 경향을 나타내었다. 그리고 MPD가 함유된 폴리올을 이용하여 합성된 WPU의 경우가 MPD를 함유하지 않은 경우보다 Tgs, 100% 탄성률 및 강도는 낮고 신장률은 보다 높게 나타났다. MPD 성분을 함유한 WPU 필름의 투명도는 MPD 성분을 함유하지 않은 WPU 필름보다 광 투광도 및 투명도가 우수함을 알 수 있었으며, 카보네이트 폴리올 기반의 WPU 필름의 광 투광도 및 투명도가 에스터 폴리올 및 에터 폴리올 기반의 WPU 필름보다 약간 우수함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 수산물을 이용한 레토르트파우치 식품제조의 기초자료를 얻기 위해 우리 나라에서 많이 생산되는 바지락을 원료로 레토르트파우치 조미바지락의 가공조건을 검토하고 저장중 품질안정성에 대하여 실험하였다. 가공조건은 원료 바지락을 $3\%$ 식염수에서 11시간 토사를 배출시켜 증자 탈각한 후 설탕 $3\%$, sorbitol $12\%$, 식염 $2.5\%$, 글루탐산나트륨 $0.5\%$의 혼합조미료를 살포혼합하여 $5^{\circ}C$에서 12시간 조미한 다음 30분간 예비건조 ($35{\sim}40^{\circ}C$)하고 훈액처리($10\%$ Smoke EZ 훈액, 30초)하여 가볍게 건조한 다음($35{\sim}40^{\circ}C$, 2.5hr) 레토르트파우치필름(polyester/nylon/unoriented polypropylene : $12{\mu}m/15{\mu}m/50{\mu}m,\;15{\times}17cm$) 주머니에 충전하고, 진공포장하여 열수순환식레토르트르써 $120^{\circ}C$ 12분간 가열살균한 다음 냉각하는 것이 좋았다. Smoke EZ 훈액처리는 제품의 색조와 풍미를 향상시키는 효과가 있었으며 산패방지효과도 있었다. 그리고 제품은 실온에서 120일간 품질이 안정하게 유지되었다.

불소 변성 폴리우레탄의 합성과 표면 개질 (Synthesis of Fluorine Modified Polyurethane and Surface Modification)

  • 과불화 1가 알코올인 N-ethyl-N-2-hydroxyethyl-perfluorooctanesulfonamide(HFA)와 삼관능성 이소시아네이트인 Tris(6-isocyanatohexyl)isocyanurate(TIHI)를 반응시켜 불소를 함유한 디이소이아네이트(FMD)를 합성한 후, poly(tetramethylene) glycol과 반응시켜 폴리우레탄 표면 개질제인 불소 변성 폴리우레탄(FMPU)을 합성하였다. 이렇게 합성한 불소 변성 폴리우레탄(FMPU)을 polyester type의 폴리우레탄(BPU)에 혼합하여 표면 성질과 열적 성질을 각각 접촉각 측정기인 $Kr{\ddot{u}ss$ G-10과 DSC로 측정하였다. 혼합된 폴리우레탄 수지에서 불소 변성 폴리우레탄 함량이 1 wt %로 증가함에 따라서 표면 에너지가 47.82 dyne/cm에서 17.64 dyne/cm로 급격히 감소했으나, 5 wt %에서 10 wt % 범위의 경우에는 접촉각의 변화가 완만하게 관찰되었다. 이와 같은 실험 결과 폴리우레탄 표면 개질제(FMPU)에 함유된 불소의 표면 배향성으로 인하여 표면 성질이 소수성을 띄나 폴리우레탄 표면 개질제(FMPU)의 함량이 5 wt % 이상에서는 불소 변성 폴리우레탄(FMPU)과 폴리우레탄(BPU)의 비상용성에 기인한 상 분리가 현저히 나타났다. 이와 같은 현상은 폴리우레탄 표면 개질제(FMPU)가 첨가된 폴리우레탄의 열적 성질에서 FMPU의 함량이 5 wt % 이상일 때, 비상용성에 의한 상 분리로 인하여 FMPU 고유의 얼적 거동이 관찰됨으로써 확인할 수 있었다.
