음배제율을 활용한 분리막 다단공정 기반의 역선택성 구현 연구 (Exploiting Negative Rejection to Achieve Reverse Selectivity Using Membrane Cascade)

  • 고성능 분리막 제조기술과 더불어 새로운 분리막 다단공정 설계를 통해 용매사용량 감소 및 선택도 향상이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 내용매성 셀룰로스 나노분리막을 제조하여 용매에 따른 용질의 선택도 차이를 비교하였다. 제막한 셀룰로스 막을 기반으로 비극성 용매의 선택도 평가를 진행하였으며, 비극성 용매에서 용질에 대한 음배제율이 관측되었다. 특히, 분자량이 클수록 음배제율이 높아지는 역선택도의 거동을 확인하였다. 이를 기반으로 설계한 공정에서는 기존 분획 공정 대비 3배 이상의 용매저감이 가능한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

활성탄섬유를 이용한 확산포집기의 공기 중 유기용제 포집효율에 관한 연구 (The Sampling Efficiencies of Volatile Organic Compounds(VOCs) to the Diffusive Monitor with Activated Carbon Fiber)

  • This study was to evaluate the efficiency of diffusive monitor using activated carbon fiber(ACF, KF-1500) in measuring airborne organic solvents. The following characteristics were identified and studied as critical to the performance of diffusive monitor; recovery, sampling rate, face velocity, reverse diffusion and storage stability. For the evaluation of the performance of this monitor, MIBK, PCE, toluene were used as organic solvents. In the sampling rate experiments, eight kinds of solvents (n-hexane, MEK, DIBK, MCF, TCE, CB, xylene, cumene) as well as the above solvents were used. The results were as follows: 1. The desorption efficiencies(DE's) of ACF diffusive monitor ranged from 83 % to 101 %. In contrast, those of coconut shell charcoal ranged from 78 % to 102 %. Especially, the DE's of ACF for the polar solvents such as MEK were superior to those of charcoal. 2. Experimental sampling rates on ACF were average 42ml/min(37-46ml/min) for 11 organic solvents at $24{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, $50{\pm}5%RH$. However ideal sampling rates(DA/L) were 33 % higher than experimental sampling rates. 3. The initial response(15~16 min) of the testing monitor was 2 times higher than the actual concentration determined by the reference methods at $24{\pm}2^{\circ}C$, $8{\pm}5%RH$ and $80{\pm}5%RH$. Within 1 hours, the curve reached a linear horizontal line at low humidity condition. But sampling efficiencies decreased with respect to time at high humidity condition. And sampling efficiencies were higher at high humidity condition than low humidity condition for MIBK. 4. At very low velocity (less than 0.02 m/sec), the concentration of ACF diffusive monitor were poorly estimated. But ACF diffusive monitor were not affected at higher velocity(0.2 m/sec-0.6 m/sec). 5. There was no significant reverse diffusion when the ACF monitors were exposed to clean air for 2 hours after being exposed for 2 hours at the level of 1 TLV. 6. There was no significant sample loss during 3 weeks of storage at room temperature and 5 weeks of storage at refrigeration.

주 사슬에 이미드 고리를 갖는 방향족 polyhydroxyamides의 합성 및 열적 특성 (Synthesis and Thermal Properties of Aromatic Polyhydroxyamides Containing Imide Ring in the Main Chain)

  • 3,3'-dihydroxybenzidine 과 2,2-bis (3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoro-propane을 포함하는 두가지 타입의 bis(o-aminophenol)s 과 imide-diacids 를 직접 축 중합하여 imide 고리를 포함한 새로운 방향족 polyhydroxyamides(PHAs)을 합성하였다. 모든 중합체들은 FT-IR, FT-NMR, DSC 및 TGA를 이용하여 조사하였다. 중합체들의 고유점도는 $35^{\circ}C$의 DMAc 용액에서 측정하였으며, 0.49-1.13 dL/g 을 보였다. PHA 1을 제외한 PHA 2 와 3은 DMF, DMAc, NMP 등 극성 용매에 잘 용해되었으며, 6F 그룹이 포함된 PHA 4, 5, 및 6은 극성이 낮은 용매에 대해서도 좋은 용해도를 보였다. 반면에 polybenzoxazoles(PBOs)은 황산에 일부 용해되는 것 외에 다양한 용매에도 용해되지 않았다. 질소분위기 하에서 PBO 1, 2, 3의 최대 열분해온도는 $650-656^{\circ}C$ 범위의 값들을 보였고, char 수득율도 57.4-61.9 %로 비교적 높은 값을 보였다. 이로부터 고분자 주 사슬에 imide 혹은 diimide 고리의 도입은 PHA 혹은 PBO의 열안정성을 높이는데 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

작업장에서 발생되는 케톤류 유기화합물의 탈착효율 및 저장안정성 (Desorption Efficiencies and Storage Stabilities of Ketones in Work Environment)

  • This study was performed to compare with desorption efficiency and storage stability of CSC and CMS tubes for Ketones in workplace air. 1. The best desorbing solution for CSC tube was 1 % or 3 % dimethylformamide(DMF) in carbon disulfide($CS_2$). The desorption efficiencies were 96.40 % for cyclohexanone, 94.86 % for acetone, 96.96 % for methyl ethyl ketone(MEK), 103.44 % for methyl isobutyl ketone(MIBK), 100.17 % for methyl amyl ketone(MAK), 100.43 % for methyl butyl ketone(MBK), 97.01 % for toluene and 99.33 % for trichloroethylene(TCE). 2. The best desorbing solution for CMS tube was 1 % or 3 % DMF in $CS_2$. The desorption efficiencies were 96.42 % for cyclohexanone, 98.53 % for acetone, 99.67 % for MEK, 105.48 % for MIBK, 100.13 % for MAK, 100.13 % for MBK, 95.42 % for toluene and 98.15 % for TCE. 3. In the storage condition at room temperature($20^{\circ}C$), the recovery rates of cyclohexanone and MEK on CSC tube were rapidly decreased 30.9 % and 50.9 % after 4 weeks, respectively. The recovery rates of all of 6 ketones and 2 nonpolar solvents were shown over 80 % after 1 week in the storage condition of refrigerate temperature($-4^{\circ}C$), and were kept over 80 % after 4 weeks in the storage condition of freezer temperature($-20^{\circ}C$). 4. The recovery rates of cyclohexanone on CMS tube were 80.6 % for 1 week after and 60.5 % for 4 weeks after at room temperature($20^{\circ}C$). The recovery rates of cyclohexanone were shown 80.6 % for 1 week after and 60.5 % for 4 weeks after at $-4^{\circ}C$, and of 6 ketones and 2 non-polar solvents were kept stable over 85 % at $-4^{\circ}C$ and over 97 % at $-20^{\circ}C$ for 4 weeks after. In conclusion, the best desorbing solution was 1 % or 3 % DMF in $CS_2$ and more appropriate sorbent tube for ketones and non-polar solvents was CMS than CSC. We recommend CSC tube would be useful if the samples analyzed within 1 week because CMS tubes are more expensive than CSC tubes. However, if the storage time is needed more than 3 weeks, CMS tubes should be suitable and the storage condition should be below $-20^{\circ}C$.

생약의 Benzodiazepine 수용체 효능활성 검색(III) 생약복합제제 추출물 및 성분분획의 활성 (Agonistic Activities to the Benzodiazepine Receptor by Extracts of Medicinal Plants(III) Activities of Composite Druge and Component Fractions)

  • This study was attempted to evaluate an agonistic activity to benzodiazepine receptor of several medicinal pants, which have been used as sedatives in oriental medicine. The activities of the methanol extracts of composite preparation of oriental drugs were compared with those of the simple drugs, furthermore, the active fraction was found out from the simple preparation. Inhibitory effects of composite preparations, Cyperus rotundus/Acorus gramineus, Thuja orientalis/Euphoria longan, Thuja orientalis/Albizzia julibrissin, on the binding of ${[^3H]}$Ro15-1788, a selective benszodiazepine receptor antagonist to benzodiazepine receptor of rat cortices, were observed to be lower than those of corresponding simple preparations. These unexpected results suggest that some components of the composite druge may rather act as an obstacle, not to show the sinergistic effect. The methanol extracts of Cyperus rotundus having the highest activity were fractionated using polar and nonpolar solvents to give ethylacetate and hexane fractions, respectively. The ethylacetate fraction containing relatively polar components exhibited much higher activity than the hexane fraction, which consiste of nonpolar agonist, binding to benzodiazepine receptor. However, in the presence of GABA, this fraction inhibited ${[^3H]}$flunitrazepan binding, and these positive GABA shift supported the strong possibility of agonistic activity to benzodiazepine receptro. As a result, it may be concluded that the substance or substances with neurochemical properties as a benzodiazepine receptor agonist may contribute to the sedative property of Cyperus rotundus.

두충의 인체 암세포 증식억제 효과 연구 (A Study on the Growth Inhibition of Human Colon Cancer Cells by Eucommial Lea Extract)

  • This study was divised to observe the inhibitory effect of growth rate of human colon cancer cells by Eucommial leaf extract, in vitro. Three species of human colon cancer cells, HRT-18, HCT-48 and HT-29, were used for the experiment. Each extract of Eucommial leaf was prepared by extraction with water, 95% alcohol, acetone, chloroform and petroleum ether, and then the inhibitory effect of each extract on the growth rate of cells was compared with control group and each other. The experimental results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Inhibitory effects on growth rate of human colon cancer fells were strongest in the petroleum ether extract and next in the chloroform extract. 2. Inhibitory effects on the growth rate of the cancer cells by extracts of water, 95% alcohol and acetone were weaker than that of petroleum ether and chloroform. 3. Inhibitory effect of each extract on the cancer cell growth was shown most strong activity in HT-29, and was in order of HRT 18 and HCT-48. In view of the results, it could be suggested that inhibitory effects of non-polar solvent's extracts against the cancer cell growth were more stronger than that of polar solvents and the effects were indicated difference according to the species of the cells.

물리화학적 처리를 통한 극성 용매 내 나노다이아몬드의 탈응집 및 분산성 향상 연구 (Deaggregation and Ultradispersion of Detonation Nanodiamonds in Polar Solvent Using Physicochemical Treatments)

  • In the present work, physicochemical treatments were introduced for de-aggregation and stable dispersion of detonation nanodiamonds (DND) in polar solvents. The DNDs in water exhibited a particle size of 138 nm and high dispersion stability without particular treatment. However, the DNDs in ethanol were severely aggregated to several micrometers in size and showed poor dispersion stability with time. To break down aggregates of DNDs and enhance the dispersion stability of them in ethanol, mechanical force and chemical surfactant were introduced as functions of zirconia ball size, kind of surfactant and amount of surfactant added. From the analyses of average particle size and Turbiscan results, it was suggested that the size of DNDs in ethanol can be reduced by only mechanical force; however, the DNDs were re-aggregated due to high surface activity. The long-term dispersion stability can be achieved by applying mechanical force to break down the aggregates of DNDs and by preventing re-aggregation of them using proper surfactant.

Spiropyran의 분산용매가 Sol-Gel 하드 코팅 막의 광 변색 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Solvents on the Photochromic Properties of Spiropyran in Hard Coating Films Prepared by Sol-Gel Method)

  • 실란커플링제인 glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane과 vinyltriethoxysilane을 출발물질로 하여 sol-gel 법에 의해 유-무기 혼성 용액을 제조하였다. 이 용액에 spiropyran 계 광 변색 염료를 다양한 종류의 용매에 용해시킨 후 혼합하여 광변색 코팅 용액을 제조하였다. 그 후 기재인 polycarbonate 시트에 코팅시키고 열 경화시켜 광 변색성을 갖는 하드 코팅 막을 제조하였다. 이 과정 중 spiropyran을 용해시킨 용매의 극성이 코팅 막의 광변색 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Spiropyran을 용해시킨 용매의 극성이 증가할수록 겔 매트릭스에서의 spiropyran의 열린 구조가 더욱 안정화되므로 코팅 막의 소색속도가 감소하였다.

Preparation and Properties of Polybenzoxazole Copolymers Bearing Pendants and Imide Ring in the Main Chain

  • A series of aromatic poly(hydroxyamide)s (PHAs) containing varying oligo(oxyethylene) substituents and 1,3-phenylene imide ring unit in the main chain were synthesized by the direct polycondensation reaction. The inherent viscosities of the PHAs exhibited in the range of 0.89~1.12 dL/g in DMAc or DMAc/LiCl solution. The PH-2~5 copolymers were easily soluble in strong aprotic solvents: DMAc, NMP, DMSO etc. and the PH-5 copolymer was soluble in less polar solvents such as m-creasol and pyridine with LiCl salt on heating. However, all PBOs were quite insoluble in other solvents, but only partially soluble in sulfuric acid. All copolymers (PH-2~5) could afford the flexible and tough films by solution casting. We identified that the PHAs were converted to the PBOs by the thermal cyclization reaction in the range of $200{\sim}380^{\circ}C$. The 10% weight loss temperatures and char yields of the PBOs were recorded in the range of $382{\sim}647^{\circ}C$ and 38.7~73.1% values at $900^{\circ}C$. The tensile strength and initial modulus of the PH-5 in the copolmers showed the highest values of 2.46 GPa and 49.55 MPa, respectively. The LOI values of the PHAs were in the range 26.6~29.0%, and increased with increasing 1,3-phenylene imide ring unit.

Characterization of Li+-ion Exchanged Zeolite Y using Organic Solvents

  • To investigate the tendency of $Li^+$ exchange from polar organic solvents, $Li^+$-ion exchange into zeolite Y (Si/Al = 1.56) was attempted by undried methanol (crystal 1) and formamide (crystal 2) solvent. Two single crystals of Na-Y were treated with 0.1 M LiNO3 in each of the two solvents at 323 K, followed by vacuum dehydration at 723 K. Their structures were determined by single-crystal synchrotron X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group $Fd{\bar{3}}m$, at 100(1) K. In both structures, $Li^+$ for $Na^+$ ions filled preferentially sites I' and II. The remaining $Na^+$ ions occupied sites I', II, and III' in both structures, in additional to above sites, and $Na^+$ ions occupied site I in crystal 2. While the 68 % exchange of $Li^+$ for $Na^+$ was achieved from undried methanol, only 40 % exchange was observed from undried formamide, indicating that the undried methanol was more effective than undried formamide as solvent for $Li^+$ exchange under the conditions employed.
