Natural Frequency Analysis of a NPT with Honeycomb Spokes (Honeycomb 스포크로 된 비공기압 타이어의 고유진동수 해석)

  • The vibration characteristic of tires is one of very important issues which heavily affect the noise and comfort on driving. Therefore, when the new tire is designed, the vibration characteristic of tire should be considered. In this paper, the vibration characteristic of non-pneumatic tire is investigated for geometric of NPT which is designed by cell angle of spoke. The analysis is based on the finite element method and used ABAQUS program, which is able to non-linear analysis. The material of NPT is used for the Ogden energy model, which is model of hyperelastic material. This paper investigate natural frequency and modal of NPT and compare result of NPT with it of pneumatic tire.

Design of Low Pressure Driven Soft Actuators for Soft Gripper (소프트 그리퍼를 위한 저압 구동 소프트 액추에이터의 설계)

  • The gripper with a soft pneumatic actuator uses a soft material, unlike the gripper that uses a rigid body, so it is safer and lighter to interact with objects without advanced control technology. Among the soft pneumatic actuators that have been studied, PneuNets actuators have bellows shape, which enable quick operation and complete bending with only small material deformation at low pressure. In this study, we suggested improved form of PneuNets actuators to obtain the performance of the soft actuator that a larger bending angle and larger bending force at a small pressure. An experiment was designed and conducted to measure the bending angle and bending force according to the pressure. As a result, it was confirmed through experiments that the improved model has a maximum bending angle at a pressure of 5 kPa lower than that of the previous model, and a maximum bending force of 1.97 times at the same pressure.

  • 가상의 공간에 실제의 설비를 구현하는 시뮬레이션 기술은 스마트팩토리를 구성하는 필수 요소 중의 하나이다. 다만, 현업의 제조 설비 도면을 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어에 적용하는데 있어 자유 곡선을 가지는 공압 배관 등의 모델 데이터는 작업의 난해함 등의 이유로 기 설계 도면에 누락되어 있는 경우가 빈번하다. 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이션 툴 중에 하나인 유니티를 이용하여 내부에서 직접 스윕 곡선을 생성하는 과정을 구현하였다. 이를 통해 기 설계 데이터에 누락된 다양한 자유 곡선 모델을 신속하게 시뮬레이션에 적용하는데 효과가 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • If hydraulic pump controlled by mechanical type regulator has more than one control function, the construction of regulator will be very complicated and control performance falls drastically. It is difficult to have more than one control function for hydraulic pump controlled by electronic type hydraulic valve due to the inconsistency of controllers. This paper proposes a multi-function control technique which controls continuously flow, pressure and power by using EPPR(Electronic Proportional Pressure Reducing) valve in swash plate type axial piston pump. Nonlinear mathematical model is developed from the continuity equation for the pressurized control volume and the torque balance for the swash plate motion. To simplify the model we make the linear state equation by differentiating the nonlinear model. A reaction spring is installed in servo cylinder to secure the stability of the control system. We analyze the stability and disturbance by using the state variable model. Finally, we review the control performances of flow, pressure and power by tests using PID controller.

  • This paper is the first of two companion papers concerning the analysis and design of a pneumatic vibration isolation system. The design optimization of the pneumatic vibration isolation system is required for the reduction of cost, endeavor and time, and it needs modeling and calculation algorithm. The nonlinear models are devised from the fluid mechanical expression for components of the system and the calculation algorithm is derived from the mathematical relationship between the models. It is shown that the orifice makes the nonlinear property of the transmissibility curve that the resonant frequency changes by the amplitude of excited vibration. Linearization of the nonlinear models is tried to reduce elapsed time and truncation error accumulation and to enable the transmissibility calculation of the system with multi damping chambers. The equivalent mechanical models generated by linearization clarify the function of each component of the system and lead to the linearized transfer function that can give forth to the transmissibility exactly close to that of nonlinear models. The modified successive under-relaxation method is developed to calculate the linearized transfer function.

Drop Test of an Oleo-pneumatic Landing Gear (유공압 착륙장치 낙하시험)

  • The main function of a landing gear is to absorb the impact energy during touchdown. Most landing gear use an oleo-pneumatic shock absorber which essentially consists of an oil damper and a gas spring. The performance of a shock absorber can be estimated by analysis but it should be verified by drop test, which is required by MIL Spec. and FAR. In the drop test, various data such as ground loads, shock absorber pressure, stroke and mass travel are analyzed to validate the shock absorbing efficiency and the mathematical model for analysis. This paper presents the introduction of drop test facility, the test procedure and data evaluation method with real drop test example.

  • 공압쿠션실린더(${\psi}80{\times}500^{st}$)의 쿠션장치인 쿠션슬리브(${\psi}20{\times}28^{st}$) 4종(Model #a, Model #b, Model #c, Model #d) 모델을 제작하여 수직하강하는 실린더에 각각 장착한 후, 각 모델에 따라 압력과 부하 특성을 비교하였다. 동일한 실험조건인 공급압력($5kg_{f}/$\textrm{cm}^2$)과 부하하중($70kg_{f}$)에서 각 모델별 실험을 실행하였다. 각 모델별 실험에서, Model #c의 쿠션슬리브인 경우가 가장 적합한 형상임을 알 수 있었다.

Analysis of Hydraulic-Pneumatic System for Offshore Plant Heave Compensator (해양플랜트용 수직 보상기의 유공압 시스템 해석)

  • An analysis model is developed using a commercial software 'simulationX' for designing hydraulic-pneumatic system of heave compensator for offshore drilling operations. Reliability verification of the analysis model for the test equipment of 1/5 scale compensator was conducted by comparing test results and simulation results. An analysis of full scale heave compensator is developed on the basis of verified a model. Then, the results of simulation were analyzed to obtain following conclusion. The displacement of crown block about excitation input amplitude (${\pm}3,000mm$) of the steward platform using a 'simulationX' is attenuated under ${\pm}35mm$, and the compensation rate is 98.7%. In this study, goal of a compensation rate is more than 95%. The previously results are satisfied with the objectives of compensation rate.

  • In this paper, the drop characteristic of the small aircraft landing gear of SUAV has been analyzed and performed on orifice optimal design for shock absorption efficiency. The SUAV landing gear was simple oleo pneumatic type without metering pin. The landing gear was modelled by MSC ADAMS software. Drop test evaluation was conducted to confirm the analysis model. As a result of correlation between analysis and test results, it was verified that these results were coincided with very well. After confidence review of analysis model through the correlation between test and analysis results, design parametric study was performed by using confirmed analysis model. Optimal orifice size with best efficiency have been decided in this study.

  • Vent-relief valve performed as a safety-valve combination for liquid propellant feeding system of space launch vehicle, which can vent the vaporized oxygen vapor during both filling cryogenic oxidizer into tank and flight. We have designed vent-relief model by using the AMESim code to predict dynamic characteristics and simulate pneumatic behavior of valve. To validate valve model we have compared by opening time in vent model, and opening/closing pressure by mathematical methods and improved the accuracy through numerical flow analysis by using FLUENT code. In this study, we had verified design parameters and analyzed operating performances. We can use these analysis results to precedent development study on propellant feeding system of Korea Space Launch Vehicle.
