Nonlinear aeroelastic characteristics of a two dimensional typical section model with bilinear plunge spring are investigated. Doublet-point method(DPM) is used for the calculation of supersonic unsteady aerodynamic forces which are approximated by using the minimum-state approximation. For nonlinear flutter analysis structural nonlinearity is represented by an asymmetric bilinear spring and is linearized by using the describing function method. The linear and nonlinear flutter analyses indicate that the flutter characteristics are significantly dependent on the frequency ratio. From the nonlinear flutter analysis, various types of limit cycle oscillations are observed in a wide range of air speeds below or above the linear flutter boundary. The nonlinear flutter characteristics and the nonlinear aeroelastic responses are investigated.

Shoot tips of in vitro propagated plantlets were cryopreserved using encapsulation/dehydration procedures. Shoot tips were excised under filter sterilized antioxidants solution (0.2M phosphate buffer, pH 5.7 supplemented with 5g/1 ascorbic acid and 15g/1 sodium borate). They were drawn up into a sterile 10 $\textrm{cm}^3$disposable pipette and were dropped into the culture medium with 2.5w/v Na-alginate, then into 100mM CaCl$_2$.2$H_2O$. Encapsulated shoot tips were transferred into 10㎤ of liquid culture medium with a range of sucrose concentrations (0.25-1.0M) and were incubated in dark for 24 hours in 18C at 40rpm. Beads were then dehydrated in silica gel for different time intervals (1-24 hours). Then they were freeze dried either rapidly (plunge directly into liquid N2 or in two stages (samples were kept at 20C for 10 minutes, then reduced to 35C at 1C per minute. Then, plunge into liquid $N_2$). The influence of sucrose and silica gel pre-treatment on pre- and post-freeze shoot growth was examined.(중략)

Resistance trimming and cutting processes of printed circuit board by making use of high power UV laser with nano-second pulse width have been proposed and investigated experimentally. Also laser-based application system with high flexibility and complex has been designed and adopted power controller, auto beam size control, auto-focusing and control program developed for ourselves. The function of each module shows that they can be reliable for industrial equipments. Resistance trimming method used a plunge and double cut process with $20{\mu}m$ spot size beam. Results show that double cut process is more effective to control resistance trimming in precision than plunge cut process.
In this study, the friction stir spot welding (FSSW) of Mg alloy sheets has been tried using an apparatus devised with a CNC milling machine to give the precise control of joining condition including tool speed. The probe tool used is made of hard metal and composed of cylindrical shoulder and pin parts. The variation of morphologies formed after the friction stir spot welding depending on the plunge speed of the tool were investigated at each rpm of tool. The history of the temperature distribution and the vertical load induced during the spot welding with friction time were measured by using an Infrared Thermal Imager (THERMA CAMTM SC2000) and a loadcell located below the specimen fixture, respectively. Tensile-shear tests were also performed to evaluate the fracture load of welded specimens. In order to characterize the friction stir spot welding of Mg alloy sheets, the variation of the fracture load was discussed on micrographic observations, temperature distribution during the FSSW according to the plunge speeds of tool.
The purpose of this study is to examine how the characteristics of family firms affect stock price crash risk. Prior studies argued that the opacity of information due to agency problem causes a plunge in stock prices. The governance characteristics of family firms can increase information opacity which leads to crash risk. Therefore, this study verifies whether family firms have a high possibility of stock price crash risk. We use a logistic regression model to test the relationship between family firms and stock price crash risk using listed firms listed on the Korean Stock Exchange during the fiscal years 2011 through 2017. The family firm is defined as the case where the controlling shareholder is the chief executive officer or the registered executive. If the controlling shareholder's share is less than 5%, it is not considered a family business. We found that family firms are more likely to experience a plunge in stock prices. This supports the hypothesis of this study that passive information disclosure behavior and information opacity of family firms increase stock price crash risk.
Purpose - This study presents strategies to overcome the COVID-19-induced crisis in Korea's meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry. It aims to quantitatively identify the environmental factors affecting the industry and their degree of influence, and derive optimal countermeasures. Design/methodology - The study applied the SWOT-AHP-TOWS framework. An AHP analysis was first performed within the SWOT frame, and then a TOWS analysis was conducted using the results of the SWOT-AHP analysis. In the AHP analysis, the number of pairwise comparison questions was limited to four for each SWOT factor to increase the consistency of responses by reducing the burden on respondents. Findings - The plunge in demand (threats factor) has had an overwhelming impact on the MICE industry, more than any other environmental factor. To overcome the crisis, the ST alternative that takes advantage of dynamic pop culture to minimize the business damage caused by the plunge in demand was the top priority measure. Based on the results, this study presents suggestions for overcoming the crisis in the MICE industry. First, the industry should develop profitable business models to supplement scarce financial resources by exploiting Korea's success with quarantine management. Second, the government must provide emergency relief funds or bailout support to protect MICE facilities and employees. Originality/value - Unlike previous work on the MICE industry, this study utilized the SWOT-AHPTOWS framework to derive quick research results in an abnormal situation. This approach can be expanded to other countries with different industrial environments and situations. Additionally, when applying this method to MICE sub-sectors, countermeasures should be tailored to each field.

This study analyzes the relationship between parameters of the discontinuity in Discrete Fracture Network model such as fracture intensity, fracture orientation, fracture size, fracture shape etc. In this paper, FracMan code was used to model and analyze 3D DFN. A sensitivity analysis was performed in order to analyze the relationship between linear fracture intensity measure ($P_{10}$) and parameters of the discontinuity in $100m{\times}100m{\times}100m$ model area. As a result the sensitivity analysis showed that key parameters affecting fracture intensity are fracture orientation (Trend / Plunge). Conversion factor($C_{13}$) for $P_{10}$, to calculate volumetric fracture intensity measure ($P_{32}$), is derived in case of vertical well and horizontal well when trend is $10^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $90^{\circ}$, $120^{\circ}$, $150^{\circ}$, $180^{\circ}$ (7cases) and plunge is $5^{\circ}$, $15^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$, $75^{\circ}$, $85^{\circ}$ (7cases). It is expected that this paper can be used effectively for modeling and understanding DFN model.
Friction stir spot welding between 5454 aluminum alloy sheets with the different thicknesses of 1.4 and 1.0 mm was performed. In the welding process, the tool for welding was rotated ranging from 500 to 2500, and plunged to the depth of 1.8 mm under a constant tool plunge speed of 100 mm/min. And then, the rotating tool was maintained at the plunge depth during the dwell time ranging from 0 to 7 sec. The pull-out speed of the rotating tool was 100 mm/min. The increase of tool rotation speed resulted in the change of the macrostructure of friction-stir-spot-welded zone, especially the geometry of welding interface. The results of the tensile shear test showed that the total displacement and toughness of the welds were increased with the increase of the tool rotation speed, although the maximum tensile shear load was decreased. However, the change in the dwell time at the plunge depth of the tool did not produce the remarkable variation in the macrostructure and mechanical properties of the welds. In all cases, the average hardness in friction-stir-spot-welded zone was higher than that of the base metal zone. By the friction stir spot welding technique, the welds with the excellent mechanical properties than the mechanically-clinched joints could be obtained.
In this study, response time index(RTI) of standard and quick response type sprinkler head are measured and compared through ramp and plunge test in heated wind tunnel. Also discharge rate and water distribution, actual delivered density(ADD), fire test with wood cribs are performed to compare the fire suppression capability and the operation time and temperature between standard and quick response type sprinkler head.

Cylindrical plunge grinding is widely used for final machining process of precision parts such as automobile, aircraft, measurement units. In order to make parts which have high precison accuracy and high surface integrity, it is neccessary to consider grinding characteristics. these grinding characteristics are closely related grinding force. Soin this study, to examine closely characteristics of grinding force, effects of dressing condition, depth of cut and speed ratio on grinding force are considered. As the result, It is shown that grinding forces are affected bydressing condition, depth of cut and speed ratio and that there exist threshod grinding force and it also affected by dressing conditon.
