광화마그마내에서의 백금, 안티모니, 테루리움 거동에 관한 연구(I) (Behavior of Pt, Sb, Te during Crystallizaion of Ore Magma (I))

  • Behavior of platinum group elements during crystallization within ore magma is of interest. In this study platinum is selected and its mineralogical and geochemical behavior in the presence of antimony and tellurium is investigated at 600$^{\circ}C$. High purity Pt, Sb, and Te are used as starting material and silica quartz tubings are as container. Rection products have been examined by use of ore microscope, X-ray diffractometer, electron microprobe analyser and micro-indentation hardness tester. stable phases at 600$^{\circ}C$ are platinum (Pt), Pt5Sb, Pt3Sb, PtSb, stumpflite (PtSb), geversite (PtSb), PtTe, Pt3Te4, Pt2Te3, moncheite (PtTe2), tellurantimony (Sb2Te3), and antimony (Sb). Geversite is the mineral showing the most significant extent of solid solution by up to 27 at% between Sb and Te elements. Isothermal section of 600$^{\circ}C$ is established in this study. It is noted that platinum cannot coexists with stumpflite or geversite under equilibrium condition, and stumpflite composition in equilibrium with geversite may be used as geothermometer.

대전 도로변 먼지내 Platinum Group Elements의 분포 특성 (Distribution Characteristics of Platinum Group Elements in Roadside Dust from Daejeon, Korea)

  • 대기 중 입자상 물질에 대한 자동차 오염원의 지표원소로서 백금족 원소 (Platinum Group Elements, PGEs)에 대한 분석법의 유효성을 검증하고, 도로변 먼지 중 PGEs의 분포 특성을 평가하였다. 인증표준물질을 이용한 유효성 평가 결과, Pt, Pd, Rh의 상대오차는 각각 -0.7%, -10.0%, -20.4%이고 상대표준편차는 Pt, Pd, Rh 모두 10% 미만으로 반복 분석에 따른 재현성이 우수한 것으로 나타났다. 연구대상지역에서 채취한 도로변 먼지 시료 중 Pt, Pd, Rh의 농도는 각각 $17.4{\pm}9.2{\mu}g/kg$, $283.6{\pm}20.5{\mu}g/kg$, $7.3{\pm}2.8{\mu}g/kg$으로 Pd의 농도가 가장 높았다. Pt와 Rh의 농도는 배경지역이나 일반 도시지역의 토양 내 농도에 비해 지하주차장과 도로변 지역의 먼지에서 평균 농도가 상당히 높았고, 이러한 평균농도의 차이는 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 도로변 먼지에서의 PGEs의 농도 간 상관분석결과, Pd 보다는 Pt와 Rh가 자동차 오염원의 영향을 민감하게 반영하는 것으로 나타났다.

백금 스크랩으로부터 아민산백금용액 제조 및 Soot Oxidation 특성 (Preparation of Platinum Amine Complex Solution from Pt Scrap and its Catalytic Activity of Soot Oxidation)

  • 본 연구에서는 디스플레이 산업의 백금 폐스크랩을 용해, 용매추출을 통하여 백금족 성분을 효율적으로 추출하고, 추출된 백금용액을 디젤자동차 배가스 정화촉매용 전구체 용액으로서 제조하고, 그 촉매활성을 실험하였다. 용액화학적 이론 연구를 통하여 백금 화학종의 수용액상 거동을 조사하였고, 화학종들의 존재영역 및 거동을 근거로 추출 및 분리 가능방안을 수립하였다. 전기화학적 방법에 의해 폐스크랩을 용해시킴으로써, 용해시간 단축 및 추출효율을 높였으며, 로듐 성분을 분리 제거, TBP에 의한 용매추출, 염산에 의한 탈거 공정을 거쳐 Pt-Chloride-$H_2O$ 계 백금용액을 용액을 제조하고, 이 용액을 원료로 액상 아민화 반응을 통해 아민산 백금용액을 제조한 다음, 카본블랙의 연소반응에 대한 촉매 활성을 실험함으로써, 백금족 폐스크랩으로부터 고부가 백금족 화합물의 제조가능성을 연구하였다.

  • 백금족 금속(Platinum Group Metals, PGMs)은 화학적 저항성은 물론 전기·열전도성이 뛰어나 촉매, 전자기기, 전극, 전기기기, 연료전지, 고온 소재 등 광범위한 응용 분야에 사용된다. 일반적으로 백금족 금속은 구리와 니켈의 황화광과 관련되어 있으므로 백금족 금속의 상대적인 농도에 따라 주산물로 생산되거나 니켈과 구리의 부산물로 생산된다. 특히 이러한 자원들은 남아프리카와 러시아 같은 나라들에 편재되어 있으며, 백금족 금속의 연간 공급량은 500톤 미만이다. 이와 같은 백금족 금속의 한정된 공급량을 고려하면 향후에 백금족 금속의 공급 리스크가 증가할 것이다. 따라서 폐촉매와 같은 2차 자원으로부터 백금족 금속을 회수하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 백금족 금속의 제련 기술과 리사이클링 기술에 대하여 고찰하였다.

Separation of Goid, Palladium and Platinum in Chromite by Anion Exchange Chromatography for Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometric Analysis

  • A study has been carried out on the separation of gold, iridium, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium and platinum in chromite samples and their quantitative determination using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). The dissolution condition of the minerals by fusion with sodium peroxide was optimized and chromatographic elution behaviour of the rare metals was investigated by anion exchange chromatography. Spectral interference of chromium, a matrix of the minerals, was investigated on determination of gold. Chromium interfered on determination of gold at the concentration of 500 mg/L and higher. Gold plus trace amounts of iridium, palladium, rhodium and ruthenium, which must be preconcentrated before ICP-AES was separated by anion exchange chromatography after reducing Cr(Ⅵ) to Cr(III) by H2O2. AuCl4- retained on the resin column was selectively eluted with acetone- HNO3-H2O as an eluent. In addition, iridium, palladium, rhodium and ruthenium remaining on the resin column were eluted as a group with concentrated HCl. However, platinum was eluted with concentrated HNO3. The recovery yield of gold with acetone-HNO3-H2O was 100.7 ${\pm}2.0%$, and the yields of palladium and platinum with concentrated HCl and HNO3 were 96.1 ${\pm}1.8%$ and 96.6 ${\pm}1.3%$, respectively. The contents of gold and platinum in a Mongolian chromite sample were 32.6 ${\pm}$ 2.2 ${\mu}g$/g and 1.6 $\pm$ 0.14 ${\mu}g$/g, respectively. Palladium was not detected.

침적법과 전기화학법을 이용한 티타늄의 갈바닉 부식에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE GALVANIC CORROSION OF TITANIUM USING THE IMMERSION AND ELECTROCHEMICAL METHOD)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference of the galvanic corrosion behaviour of the titanium in contact with gold alloy, silva-palladium alloy, and nickel-chromium alloy using the immersion and electrochemical method. And the effects of galvallit couples between titanium and the dental alloys were assessed for their usefulness as materials for superstructure. The immersion method was performed by measuring the amount of metal elementsreleased by Inductivey coupled plasma emission spectroscopy(ICPES) The specimen of fifteen titanium plates, the five gold alloy, five silver-palladium, five nickel-chromium plates, and twenty acrylic resin plates ware fabricated, and also the specimen of sixty titanium plugs, the thirty gold alloy, thirty silver-palladium, and nickelc-hromium plugs were made. Thereafter, each plug of gold alloy, silver-palladium, and nickel-chromium inserted into the the titanium and acrylic resin plate, and also titanium plug inserted into the acrylic resin plate. The combination specimens uf galvanic couples immersed in 70m1 artificial saliva solution, and also specimens of four type alloy(that is, titanium, gold, silver-palladium and nickel-chromium alloy) plugs were immersed solely in 70m1 artificial sativa solution. The amount of metal elements released was observed during 21 weeks in the interval of each seven week. The electrochemical method was performed using computer-controlled potentiosta(Autostat 251. Sycopel Sicentific Ltd., U.K). The wax patterns(diameter 11.0mm, thickness,in 1.5mm) of four dental casting alloys were casted by centrifugal method and embedded in self-curing acrylic resin to be about $1.0cm^2$ of exposed surface area. Embedded specimens were polished with silicone carbide paper to #2,000, and ultrasonically cleaned. The working electrode is the specimen of four dental casting alloys, the reference electrode is a saturated calmel electrode(SCE) and the ounter electrode is made of platinum plate. In the artificial saliva solution, the potential scanning was carried out starting from-700mV(SCE) TO +1,000mV(SCE) and the scan rate was 75mV/min. Each polarization curve of alloy was recorded automatically on a logrithmic graphic paper by XY recorder. From the polarization curves of each galvanic couple, corrosion potential and corrosion rates, that is, corrosion density were compared and order of corrosion tendency was determined. From the experiments, the following results were obtained : 1. In the case of immersing titanium, gold alloy, silver-palladium alloy, and nickel-chromium alloysolely in the artificial saliva solution(group 1, 2, 3, and 4), the total amount of metal elements released was that group 4 was greater about 2, 3 times than group 3, and about 7.8 times than group 2. In the case of group 1, the amount of titanium released was not found after 8 week(p<0.001). 2. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with alloy(group 5, 6), the total amount of metal elements released of group 5 and 6 was less than that of group 7, 8, 9, and 10(p<0.05). 3. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with silver-palladium alloy(group 7, 8), the total amount of metal elements released of group 7 was greater about twice than that of group 5, and that of group 8 was about 14 times than that of group 6(p<0.05). 4. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with nickel-chromium alloy(group 9, 10), the total amount of metal elements released of group 9 and 10 was greater about 1.8-3.2 times than that of group 7 and 8, and was greater about 4.3~25 times than that of group 5 and 6(p<0.05). 5. In the effect of galvanic corrosion according to the difference of the area ratio of cathode and anode, the total amount of metal elements released was that group 5 was greater about 4 times than group 6, group 8 was greater about twice than group 7, and group 10 was greater about 1.5 times than group 9(p<0.05). 6. In the effect of galvanic corrosion according to the elasped time during 21 week in the interval of each 7 week, the amount of metal elements released was decreased markedly in the case of galvanic couples of the titanium in contact with gold alloy and silver-palladium alloy but the total amount of nickel and beryllium released was not decreased markedly in the case of galvanic couples of the titanium in contact with nickel-chromium alloy(p<0.05). 7. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with gold alloy, galvanic current was lower than any other galvanic couple. 8. In the case of galvanic couples of titanium in contact with nickel-chromium alloy, galvanic current was highest among other galvanic couples.

High sensitivity determination of iridium contents in ultra-basic rocks by INAA with coincidence gamma-ray detection

  • Very low contents (in the range of 10-9 g/g) of Ir in mantle-derived rock samples (komatiites) were non-destructively determined by INAA coupled with coincidence gamma-ray spectrometry using 16 Ge detectors. Aliquots of the same samples were analyzed by NiS fire-assay ICP-MS for Ir and other platinum group elements. Because the INAA procedure used in this study is non-destructive and is almost free from spectral interference in gamma-ray spectrometry, the INAA values of Ir contents obtained in this study can be highly reliable. Iridium values obtained by ICP-MS were consistent with the INAA values, implying that the ICP-MS values of Ir obtained in this study are equally reliable. Under the present experimental conditions, detection limits were estimated to be 1 pg/g, which corresponds to 0.1 pg for a sample mass of 0.1 g. These levels can be even lowered by an order of magnitude, if necessary, which cannot be achieved by ICP-MS carried out in this study.

양.음이온교환 크로마토그래피와 유도결합플라스마 원자방출분광법을 이용한 모의 사용후핵연료 중 핵분열생성물 분석 (Determination of Fission Products in Simulated Nuclear Spent Fuels by Cation.Anion Exchange Chromatography and Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry)

  • 질산에 잘 녹지 않는 백금족 원소를 포함하고 있는 모의 사용후핵연료(SIMfUEL)를 고압산분해 방법으로 녹였다. 핵분열생성물 원소들은 우라늄과 분리한 다음 유도결합플라스마 원자방출분광법 (ICP-AES)으로 분석하였다. 핵분열생성물 원소들의 피크가 우라늄 스펙트럼으로부터 분광학적 간섭을 받으므로 Mo, Pd, Rh 및 Ru은 양이온교환수지로 Ba, Ce, La, Nd, Rh, Sr, Y 및 Zr는 음이온교환수지로 우라늄과 원소들을 군분리하였다. 사용후핵연료의 조성과 비슷한 모의 핵연료용액을 만들어 양이온 교환수지로 분리한 다음 측정한 회수율은 99-103%이고, 음이온교환수지로 분리하고 측정한 회수율은 이트륨을 제외하고 96.5-107%이었다. 이 방법을 금속원소의 농도가 수백에서 수천 ppm 존재하는 SIMFUEL에 적용하여 측정한 상대표준편차는 1.3-6.7%이었다.

해외 금속자원에 대한 광상유형별 자료 분석을 통한 효과적인 자원개발 (The Optimal Resource Development for Analysing Data of Deposit Types' Ore Reserves of Oversea Metal Resource)

  • 우리나라의 주요 수입 광종은 동광, 연-아연광, 철광, 망간광 및 몰리브덴광 등이다. 우리나라의 해외자원개발은 아시아 14개국 92개 사업, 미주 및 유럽지역 10개국 29개 사업 그리고 중동 및 아프리카 9개국 14개 사업이 있으며 주로 호주, 중국, 몽골 및 인도네시아에서 사업수가 높다. 호주, 인도네시아 및 중국의 사업은 대부분이 석탄이고 일부 망간, 철, 연-아연, 니켈, 구리, 금, 몰리브덴, 희유원소 및 우라늄 등이나 몽골은 금과 희유원소가 큰 부분을 차지한다. 금속자원에 대한 광상 유형별 대표적인 광상형은 조산 lode형 광상, VMS형 광상, 반암형 광상, SEDEX형 광상, MVT형 광상, IOCG형 광상 및 마그마성 Ni-Cu-PGE형 광상 등이 있으며 이들 유형별 광상들은 전세계적으로 도처에 분포하며 다른 유형별 광상보다 금속자원의 매장량이 높고 부산물인 미량 금속자원에 대한 품위도 높게 나타난다. 따라서 향후 해외광물자원의 탐사 및 개발에 있어 우선 각 국가별 매장량, 주요 광물자원의 생산량 및 지체구조와 함께 광상 유형별 등을 종합 검토하여 조사 및 탐사를 실시한다면, 해외자원개발의 투자 위험도가 감소될 뿐만 아니라 탐사대상지역에서 품위가 높은 광체를 확보할 수 있을 것이다.
