Following conclusions have been reached through the study. The materials and technique which applied to wall plaster work in those days were quite different from the present. The technique that was used to wall plaster of government buildings in those days was not a lime wall plaster, but sand coat one. The kinds of material for setting of the sand coat wall plaster had been revised with the change of the times or constructions. The main kinds of material were composed of sand, white clay, paper fiber, and cereal starch. However, the present materials were composed of sand, white clay. Therefore, the present materials and technique which applied to wall plaster work for the repair and restoration of architectural cultural properties have to be revised and corrected.

One of them is what to require a repair have not to be repaired beyond the limits of the features and techniques to have been born in those days of establishment. On the premise, this paper is to examine the materials and technique of lime plaster work in order for roof ridge, and for bond paste of stones and bricks in government constructions in the late of Joseon dynasty(17~19c). The result of this examination will come up with a basic conformity in the case of repairing the building established in the late of Joseon dynasty. This paper is carried out for the proper repair and restoration of architectural cultural properties. Construction reports and other documents in those days are examined for the study. Following conclusions have been reached through the study. The components of old plaster mixtures which agglutinate stones each other were quicklime, perilla oil, and paper fiber. The components of old plaster mixtures which point joint of black bricks consisted of slaked lime, perilla oil, paper fiber, and cereal starch. These components were the same as coat surface of roof ridges. In the case of times, one of the following sand, white clay, sap of boiled elm bark was added to these components for the purpose of high efficiency. These materials and techniques which applied to plaster work of those buildings had developed in the process of making royal tombs. But these materials and techniques were quite different from the present.

  • Research work on removal of fluoride from water, referred to as water defluoridation, has resulted into the development of a number of technologies over the years but they suffer from either cost or efficiency drawbacks. In this work, enhancement effects of phosphate and silicate on defluoridation of water by low-cost Plaster of Paris (calcined gypsum) were studied. To our knowledge, the influence of silicate on defluoridation was not reported. It was claimed, that the presence of some ions in the treated water samples, was decreasing the fluoride removal since these ions compete the fluoride ions on occupying the available adsorption sites, however, phosphate and silicate ions, from its sodium slats, have enhanced the fluoride % removal, hence, precipitation of calcium-fluoro compounds of these ions can be suggested. Percentage removal of $F^-$ by neat Plaster is 48%, the electrical conductance (EC) curve shows the typical curve of Plaster setting which begins at 20 min and finished at 30 min. The addition of phosphate and silicate ions enhances the removal of fluoride to high extent > 90%. Thermodynamics parameters showed spontaneous fluoride removal by neat Plaster and Plaster-silicate system. The percentage removal with time showed second-order reaction kinetics.

  • The simulated die-casting process in which the traditional plaster casting process is combined with Rapid Prototyping technology is being used to produce Al, Mg, and Zn die-casting prototypes. Unlike in the die-casting process, molten metal in the conventional plaster casting process is fed via a gravity pour into a mold and the mold does not cool as quickly as a die-casting mold. The plaster castings have much larger and grosser grain structure as compared as the die-castings and the thin walls of the plaster mold cavity may not be completely fillet Because of lower mechanical properties induced by the large grain structure and incomplete Idling, the conventional plaster casting process is not suitable for the trial die-casting Process. In this work, an enhanced trial die-casting process has been developed in which molten metal in the plaster mold cavity is vibrated and pressurized simultaneously. Patterns for the casting are made by Rapid Prototyping technologies and then plaster molds, which have runner system, are made using these patterns. Imparted pressurized vibration to molten metal has made grain structure of castings much finer and improved fluidity of the molten metal enough to obtain complete filling at thin walls which can not be filled in the conventional plaster casting process.

  • This work is concerned with the development of a new plaster die casting process the combines pressurization and vibration for the prototyping of die-castings, and also with a plaster die-casting machine that has a structure quite similar to that of an ordinary die casting machine. The machine utilized an air cylinder for pressurization and a magnetic actuator for vibration. A rapid prototyped pattern is made by the LOM process to prepare a plaster mold. In the process, a plunger int he developed machine simultaneously pressurizes and vibrates the molten metal to fill the plaster mold completely and to facilitate the creation of nuclei in the molten metal, respectively. The developed machine produced a prototype of an end clutch cover with a remarkable improvement in mechanical properties.

  • The plater work in the standard of estimate presents a variety of construction types. However, there is a part that does not fit the change of specification standards and on-site construction status, and it was revised in 2019's standard of estimate. In this study, we analyzed in detail the factors affecting the changes in estimating standards in the plater work. There were changes in the specification standards previously presented as primary coat, secondary coat, and formal coat as well as changes in on-site construction status such as thickness according to the number of plastering. Therefore, it is analyzed that the estimating standards can be classified by the number of finishes according to the site conditions by reflecting the analysis of the specification standards and site application status, and suggesting the finishing standards according to the number of plastering.

  • The In the experiment on flow using sand walls, when white clay+sand was mixed with glutinous rice, traditional paper and seaweed as adherents and preventive measures for cracks, the flow was higher than other sand wall mortars. This indicates that it is effective in improving flow. Moreover, in terms of strength, a mix of white clay+sand, traditional paper and flour had a greater strength than a mix of white clay+sand, straws and flour. In the experiment to test for cracks and shrinking during drying, a composition of white clay+sand+traditional paper showed fewer cracks and less shrinking than the walls where straws were mixed in.

  • Utilization of waste tires may be considered as one of the solution to the problems faced by the local authorities in disposing them. Reclaimed rubber (RR) is being used in concrete for replacing conventional aggregates. This research work is focused on the strength prediction of reclaimed rubber concrete using a Genetic Algorithm (GA) for M40 grade of concrete and comparing it with experimental results. 1000 sets were taken and 100 iterations were run during training of GA models. A base study has been carried out in this research work partially replacing cement with three types of fillers such as Plaster of Paris (POP), Fly Ash (FA) and Silica Fume (SF). A total of 243 cubes were cast and tested for compression using a Universal Testing Machine. It was found that SF produced maximum strength in concrete and was used in the main study with reclaimed rubber. Tests were conducted on 81 cube samples with a combination of optimum SF percent and various proportions of RR replacing coarse aggregates in concrete mix. Compressive strength tests of concrete at 7, 14 and 28 days reveal that the maximum strength is obtained at 12 percent replacement of cement and 9 percent replacement of coarse aggregates respectively. Moreover the GA results were found to be in line with the experimental results obtained.

  • In this study, I have researched into the causes of defects in apartment house, The results of this study are listed below. (1) Water leakages which result from land sinking and cracks, results of misuse of back filling method, are the main reason of defects in civil engineering work and architectural work. (2) Inexperience and unwillingness are the main reason of defects in plaster work. (3) In windows work and painting work, the main reasons are lacks of precision construction and efflorescence resulting from outdoor air, respectively. (4) Defects in waterproofing work and electric work result from fault construction by low unit Costs. (5) Equipment work requires uses of standardized construction materials and management, and landscape architecture work requires minimizing human mistakes, for instance, degin carelessness. For the reasons stated above, the causes of defects in apartment house are insufficient construction labors, inferior construction materials, urgent construction process time, and conscientiousless industrialists who only seek after a profit margin.
