In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problems by a resistive strip grating with tapered resistivity on a grounded dielectric plane according as strip width and spacing, relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layers, and incident angles of a electric wave are analyzed by applying the FGMM(Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method) Known as a numerical procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floguet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip. The tapered resistivity of resistive strips varies zero resistivity at strip edges. Then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The numerical results of the geometrically in this paper are compared with those for the existing uniform resistivity and perfectly conducting strip. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for conductive strips case with zero resistivity in this paper show in good agreement with those of existing paper.

In this paper, we propose the antenna to appropriate for a UWB communication system, and it meets characteristics for location recognition in predetermined range. Proposed tapered slot antenna was designed through the HFSS simulation tool of Ansys. Inc., it was produced by Taconic TRF-45 based on dielectric constant of 4.5, loss tangent 0.0035, thickness 1.62mm. The tapered slot antenna is analyzed the standing wave ratio and reflection coefficient, radiation pattern in the frequency domain. The impedance bandwidth range of the produced tapered slot antenna is from 3.8 ~ 8.9GHz to 5.1GHz, E-plane and H-plane radiation pattern meet directional antenna characteristics for indoor and outdoor location recognition in predetermined range. The antenna gain is 7.4 dBi(6GHz)in the simulation, the result of measurement demonstrated 7.4 dBi(6 GHz) of antenna maximum gain. Proposed tapered slot antenna meets UWB communication system but simulated and measured results were slightly different.
In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problem by a resistive strip grating with 2 dielectric layers on a ground plane according as resistivity of resistive strip, relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layers, and incident angles of a electric wave is analyzed by applying the PMM (Point Matching Method) known as a numerical procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip. According as the relative permittivity and the thickness of layers are increased, the values of the geometrically normalized reflected power have a high value and the values of strip width are moved toward a high value going from left to right. When the resistivity of this paper has a value of zero, the numerical results of the geometrically normalized reflected power show in good agreement with those by the PMM of existing paper. Then, the most energys of the sharp variation point in minimum values of the geometrically normalized reflected power are scattered in direction of the other angles except incident angle.

In this paper, when a H-polarized plane wave is incident on the grating consisting of uniform resistive strips, electromagnetic scattering is analyzed using the moment of methods (MoM). The current density of each resistive strip on a grounded dielectric plane is fixed by zero at both edges. To satisfy the condition at both ends of each resistive strip, the induced surface current density is expanded in a series of cosine and sine functions. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floquet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown current coefficients. According to the variation of the involving parameters such as strip width and spacing and angle of the incident field, numerical simulations are performed by applying the Fourier-Galerkin moment method. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for resistive strips case for zero and several resistivities are obtained.
Dynamic response analysis of offshore triceratops with stiffened buoyant legs under impact and non-impact waves is presented. Triceratops is relatively new-generation complaint platform being explored in the recent past for its suitability in ultra-deep waters. Buoyant legs support the deck through ball joints, which partially isolate the deck by not transferring rotation from legs to the deck. Buoyant legs are interconnected using equally spaced stiffeners, inducing more integral action in dispersing the encountered wave loads. Two typical nonlinear waves under very high sea state are used to simulate impact and non-impact waves. Parameters of JONSWAP spectrum are chosen to produce waves with high vertical and horizontal asymmetries. Impact waves are simulated by steep, front asymmetric waves while non-impact waves are simulated using Stokes nonlinear irregular waves. Based on the numerical analyses presented, it is seen that the platform experiences both steady state (springing) and transient response (ringing) of high amplitudes. Response of the deck shows significant reduction in rotational degrees-of-freedom due to isolation offered by ball joints. Weak-asymmetric waves, resulting in non-impact waves cause steady state response. Beat phenomenon is noticed in almost all degrees-of-freedom but values in sway, roll and yaw are considerably low as angle of incidence is zero degrees. Impact waves cause response in higher frequencies; bursting nature of pitch response is a clear manifestation of the effect of impact waves on buoyant legs. Non-impact waves cause response similar to that of a beating phenomenon in all active degrees-of-freedom, which otherwise would not be present under normal loading. Power spectral density plots show energy content of response for a wide bandwidth of frequencies, indicating an alarming behaviour apart from being highly nonlinear. Heave, being one of the stiff degrees-of-freedom is triggered under non-impact waves, which resulted in tether tension variation under non-impact waves as well. Reduced deck response aids functional requirements of triceratops even under impact and non-impact waves. Stiffened group of buoyant legs enable a monolithic behaviour, enhancing stiffness in vertical plane.

In this paper, by using a commercial EM simulator, we could obtain the array manifold which are phase responses of an array antenna for the incident plane wave and then verified the effectiveness of methodology after comparing with the measurement. The result shows that the array manifold can be calculated including not only the phase response of the ideal point sources but also the influences of the mutual coupling between antennas and the installed platform. Also it can exclude the interference of strong broadcasting signal and the disturbance of the multipath in the calibration process. Finally, to predict the performances of direction finding systems, a novel method using both the EM simulation-based receiving signal and the sparsely sampled array manifold with the parabolic estimation is proposed. This method can be utilized in the various fields of direction-finding since it shows the superior predictive performance even in low SNR conditions.
It is known that the Fe-Al transition metal compounds have a lot of disagreement about structural stability and magnetism. In this study, the correlation between magnetism and atomic structure of ordered $B_2$, $L1_2$, and $D0_3$ structured Fe-Al compounds has been investigated using the all-electron full-potential linearized augmented plane wave (FLAPW) method based on the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). We found that considered all the structures were calculated to be stabilized in a ferromagnetic state. The calculated spin magnetic moments of the Fe atoms for B2 and $L1_2$ structures were 0.771 and 2.373 ${\mu}_B$, respectively, and that of Fe(I) and Fe(II) in $D0_3$ structure calculated to be 2.409 ${\mu}_B$, 1.911 ${\mu}_B$, respectively. In order to investigate structural stability between $L1_2$ and $D0_3$ structures, we performed the formation enthalpy calculations. As a result, the $D0_3$ structure is found to be more favorable than $L1_2 one by energy difference 16 meV/atom, which is well consistent with the experimental observation. We understood about structural stability and magnetism for Fe-Al compounds in terms of analysis of their atomic and electronic structures.

The design challenges when attempting to obtain sufficient strength for a deepwater steel catenary riser (SCR) include high stress near the hang-off location, an elevated beam-column buckling load due to the effective compression in the touchdown zone (TDZ), and increased stress and low-cycle fatigue damage in the TDZ. Therefore, a systematic strength analysis is required for the proper design of an SCR. However, deepwater SCR analysis is a new research area. Thus, the objective of this study was to develop an overall analysis procedure for a deepwater SCR. The structural behavior of a deepwater SCR under various environmental loading conditions was investigated, and a sensitivity analysis was conducted with respect to various parameters such as the SCR weight, weight of the internal contents, hang-off angle (HOA), and vertical soil stiffness. Based on a deepwater SCR design example, it was found that the maximum stress of an SCR occurred at a hang-off location under parallel loading direction with respect to the riser plane, except for a wave dominant dynamic survival loading condition. Furthermore, the tensile stress governed the total stress of the SCRs, whereas the bending stress governed the total stress at the TDZ. The weight of the SCR and internal contents affected the maximum stress of the SCR more than the HOA and vertical soil stiffness, because the weight of the SCR, including the internal contents, was directly related to its tensile stress.
We obtained resonance field ($H_{res}$) and linewidth (${\Delta}H_{PP}$) from measured ferromagnetic resonance signal in the functions of polar angle (${\Theta}_H$) in Ni thin film of 240 nm thickness fabricated by electrodeposition method. The angular dependence of $H_{res}$ was well fitted with the calculated ones. We confirmed that the g-factor and effective demagnetization field were 2.18 and 445 emu/cc by the theoretical analysis of the resonance field, respectively. The angular dependence of ${\Delta}H_{PP}$ showed very large values at in-plane direction (${\Theta}_H=90^{\circ}$), which could not explained by the homogenous linewidth due to the Gilbert damping and inhomogeneous linewidth due to the angular variations and magnetization variations by the surface layer. Therefore, we considered the spin wave scattering (two magnon scattering) process in order to analyze the measured inhomogeneous linewidth, which was appeared in thicker film than the critical thickness of 50 nm. The defect medicated spin wave scattering played a key role in the electrodoposited Ni thin film of 240 nm thickness.

The linear/nonlinear vibration response of the rotating hybrid cylindrical shell with simply supported boundary condition is studied. The Ritz-Galerkin method is applied to obtain the nonlinear frequency equation, which excludes in-plane and rotatory inertia but includes bending stretching coupling terms. The bifurcation phenomena for the linear frequency and the frequency ratio(nonlinear/linear frequency ratio) are presented. The hybrid cylindrical shells are composed of composite(GFRP, CFRP) metal(aluminium, steel) with symmetric and antisymmetric stacking sequence. The effects of the Coriolis and centrifugal force are considered The results also present the effects of length-to- radies ratio, radius-to-thickness ratio, the circumferential wave number, the stacking sequence, the material property, the initial excitation amplitude and the rotating speed. The present linear frequency results are compared with those of the available literature.
