거주상인의 내부적 관점에서 본 재래시장 공간의 장소적 의미 -청량리시장과 황학동시장을 사례로- (Meanings of the Conventional Market Place Derived from the Merchant's Point of View -Based upon the Cases of Chungryangri and Hwanghakdong Market Place-)

  • Based upon the cases of two conventional market places of Seoul (Chungryangri and Hwanghakdong Market0, this study seeks, in mainly the insiders's view, to find out the micro meaning of conventional market places in the city. In-depth interviews for longer than six months were used to get life histories and daily life records from the merchants. From the result of the in-depth interviews, it was found that, for the insider's view, conventional markets are places where lower class people (or people who leave their farm lands for a city) easily settle down, as shoed in the two families' settlement history in the two conventional markets are very much similar to those in their home places. In conclusion, as represented in these two markets, conventional market places are not only the places that provides jobs to their merchants but also the places where the merchants' lives are continued, developed and reproduced. Based upon the both outsider's and insider's views, it is suggested that the recent modernization and redevelopment process to deal with conventional markets should change its direction and search for other solutions.

유니버설 디자인 관점에서 본 미국노인들의 주거실태 및 요구 - 미조리주 콜럼비아 재가노인들을 대상으로 - (The Survey on Residential Conditions and the Needs based on Universal Interior Design Features of the Elderly in U.S.A. - Focused on the Elderly Who Want to Age in Place in Columbia Missouri -)

  • This study explored ways of changing a detached house which has older residents to a universal design home. This study investigated the residential conditions based on the universal design features and the need of universal design for aging in place. For this study, 153 residents who were living in single detached houses in Columbia, MO, were surveyed using written questionnaires and interviews. Primary findings of residential conditions were showed according to each spaces such as entrance, interior hallway, master bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The major results are as follows: 1)It was confirmed that major spaces for daily living such as a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities needed to be on the ground floor. 2)The most dangerous spaces in house were stairs to the upper or lower floors and the bathroom, 3)The need for modification based on universal design were high in order to facilitate aging in place. 4) Finally, elderly people in their seventies had especially strong needs through modification compared to the elderly people in their sixties who had plans to relocate.

초량 이바구길의 공공디자인에 나타난 장소정체성 표현특성 (Characteristics of Expression of Place Identity Shown in the Public Design of Choryang Ibagu-gil)

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics of expression of place identity shown in public design of Choryang Ibagugil in Dong-gu, Busan and analyze them from physical aspects and from psychological ones. Choryang Ibagugil has special historicity indicating that it is a hillside road(Sanbokdoro) dwelling site created after the 6.25 Korean War and the quintessence of Busan. In addition, the site is a good example that used the topographic characteristics as they were and used the road for movement called as 'gil' to design public environment. Ibagugil connected to Sanbokdoro (i.e. Mangyang-ro) starting from the big road (Busan Station) where there was a large floating population represented the regional identity to public design by the medium of 'gil.' As a result of analyzing the characteristics of expression of place identity based on the current status discovered, our conclusions could be drawn as follows: First, place forms identity under interpersonal relationships and there is a story on the lives of people in the contexts between place and identity. Second, place identity is an independent specialty of a certain place and expression of place identity into public design makes the place more place-like. Ibagugil expressed its identity while adapting to the topographic characteristics of hillside road(Sanbokdoro). Third, adjacent public buildings were included into Ibagugil, thus highlighting the placeness, although it is considered that it is ambiguous to determine it as public design in the current-status analysis. Fourth, from the public value aspect, slumized hillside road(Sanbokdoro) was improved, which led to improvement in quality of environment and improvement in pride of local residents. Resultingly, it can be said that the place identity appeared in the public design of Choryang Ibagugil were the stories that happened in this place. Moreover, the indication of future image of how the place will be developed in the future makes the value of the place more significant. Therefore, in public design for expressing place identity, utilization of independent speciality of the site is considered to be an important factor. By doing so, 'place becomes a real place' and 'place can get an independent identity.' Going further, it comes to get the characteristics of 'being the place as it is.'

영상 기반 위치 인식을 위한 대규모 언어-이미지 모델 기반의 Bag-of-Objects 표현 (Large-scale Language-image Model-based Bag-of-Objects Extraction for Visual Place Recognition)

  • We proposed a method for visual place recognition that represents images using objects as visual words. Visual words represent the various objects present in urban environments. To detect various objects within the images, we implemented and used a zero-shot detector based on a large-scale image language model. This zero-shot detector enables the detection of various objects in urban environments without additional training. In the process of creating histograms using the proposed method, frequency-based weighting was applied to consider the importance of each object. Through experiments with open datasets, the potential of the proposed method was demonstrated by comparing it with another method, even in situations involving environmental or viewpoint changes.

미팅 장소 추천 시스템 구현 (Implementation of a Meeting Place Recommendation System)

  • 모임 장소를 정할 때에 모든 참여자의 이동 시간이 작으면서 적당한 매장을 정하는 것은 항상 번거로운 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해서 지하철역 기반으로 최적의 장소와 매장을 추천하는 알고리즘을 제안하고 시스템을 개발한다. 본 시스템은 자영업자들이 자신의 매장 정보를 등록하여 홍보토록 하는 매장 정보 등록 기능을 웹 기반으로 제공하고, 모임 참여자들에게 모임 장소를 추천하는 기능을 앱 기반으로 제공한다. 제안한 알고리즘은 지하철 노선도를 기반으로 모든 참여자의 이동 시간을 줄이고 소요 시간의 표준편차를 이용하여 공평성을 향상시켰다. 또한, 본 시스템은 최근 배달앱을 통한 홍보에만 의존한 자영업자들의 홍보수단에 새로운 방안을 제시한다.

슬링박스를 이용한 TV프로그램의 장소이동 시청의 저작권법상의 성격 (Place-shifting of TV Content by the Use of Slingbox and the Copyright)

  • 시청이동 및 기기이동 이용 판결논리를 토대로 슬링박스를 이용한 TV프로그램의 장소이동 시청의 법적 성격을 공정이용 관점에서 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 소니 판결과 RIAA 판결에 기초하면 장소이동 시청은 비상업적인 사적 이용으로서 공정이용에 해당된다. 냅스터 판결을 적용시킬 경우, 장소이동 시청은 슬링박스 구매자에게만 저작물이 노출되므로 공정이용이지만, 장소이동 기능의 공유는 저작권침해 책임 논란의 소지가 크다. 반면 이용자의 편의성 도모는 저작권 취지에서 벗어난다는 이유로 시간 및 공간이동 기능의 공정이용을 부인한 소니 사건의 2심과 MP3.com 판결에 따르면, 장소이동 시청은 공정이용에 포함되지 않는다. 또한 방송콘텐츠에 미치는 경제적 효과는 플랫폼 확장 차원에서 긍정적이지만, 다양한 단말이 저작권자의 후속시장이 된다는 점에서 부정적이다. 장소이동 시청의 법적 쟁점은 결국 기술혁신과 저작권의 충돌에서 비롯되었다는 점에서 새로운 매체의 법적 책임 분석기준인 "혁신매체의 항변" 을 제안해 본다.

전주한옥마을 방문객이 지각한 체험요소가 재방문의도에 미치는 영향 분석 (A Study of Intention to Revisit Jeonju Hanok Village associated with Consumer Experience)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate consumer behavior based on the experience from visiting Jeonju Hanok Village. This study tested the relationship between the experience and intention to revisit for consumers who visited the village mediated by emotion and place attachment as a structural equation model. The results of this study were as follows. First, the perceived emotion was found to be significantly influenced by experience. Consumers were likely to feel positive emotions if their experiences of entertainment, escapism, and esthetics were positive. Second, the place attachment was found to be significantly influenced by experience. If consumers perceived positive experience of education and escapism, then they would like to be attached to the place where they experienced such positive experience. Finally, the intention to revisit was found to be significantly influenced by the emotion and the place attachment. If positive emotion and place attachment were well-established through consumer experience, then consumers would like to increase the intention to revisit the place.

  • This study aims at advancing waterfront of Pusan Port and attempting to establish an identity through studying characteristics of place in Pusan Port. The place is consisted of two elements ; orientation and identity, which is expressed clearly the environmental totality including the character and space. The urban waterfront is also one of the place pattern, and that is consist of land area, water area, and transit zone combining two areas. Although there are a lot of primary factors to be able to make the most of the character and identity in Pusan port, badly planned development prevents the plan promoting the sense of place in urban waterfront. The point in the waterfront development plan of Pusan Port is how to secure aminities based on Identity and Orientation; node, landmark, edge, path, district. The result of this study is for planners to develop more and systematic approaches which could utilize waterfront.

장소성을 바탕으로 한 컬처노믹스 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on Implementation of Culturenomics based on Placeness)

  • The study is motivated by methodological approach on how to apply the existing traditional placeness to the present age. Moreover, its purpose lies in establishment of character of place that not only embraces the existing meaning of place but also reflects on the new paradigm of space through culturenomics which embraces the core indexes of modern values such as economics, culture, and everything. Culture has a potential to create various values through its convergence with other fields, one of which is place. Place is essentially an original center of human existence. Culture is no more separated from daily life and people's way of life becomes a culture. In the a culture-oriented social system, design of place will be developed in a multi-dimensional way that accepts diversity and centers on relation. At our places experiencing placelessness through uniformity and modernization, this study has a significant meaning since it shows culturenomics may offer a solution to the direction of growth in the future.

위상학적 공간 인식을 위한 효과적인 초음파 격자 지도 매칭 기법 개발 (Effective Sonar Grid map Matching for Topological Place Recognition)

  • This paper presents a method of sonar grid map matching for topological place recognition. The proposed method provides an effective rotation invariant grid map matching method. A template grid map is firstly extracted for reliable grid map matching by filtering noisy data in local grid map. Using the template grid map, the rotation invariant grid map matching is performed by Ring Projection Transformation. The rotation invariant grid map matching selects candidate locations which are regarded as representative point for each node. Then, the topological place recognition is achieved by calculating matching probability based on the candidate location. The matching probability is acquired by using both rotation invariant grid map matching and the matching of distance and angle vectors. The proposed method can provide a successful matching even under rotation changes between grid maps. Moreover, the matching probability gives a reliable result for topological place recognition. The performance of the proposed method is verified by experimental results in a real home environment.
