In order to specify the location of the scintillation pixel that interacted with gamma rays in the positron emission tomography (PET) detector, conventionally, after acquiring a flood image, the location of interaction between the scintillation pixel and gamma ray could be specified through a pixel-segmentation process. In this study, the experimentally acquired signal was specified as the location of the scintillation pixel directly, without any conversion process, through the simulation data and the deep learning algorithm. To evaluate the accuracy of the specification of the scintillation pixel location through deep learning, a comparative analysis with experimental data through pixel segmentation was performed. In the same way as in the experiment, a detector was configured on the simulation, a model was built using the acquired data through deep learning, and the location was specified by applying the experimental data to the built model. Accuracy was calculated through comparative analysis between the specified location and the location obtained through the segmentation process. As a result, it showed excellent accuracy of about 85 %. When this method is applied to a PET detector, the position of the scintillation pixel of the detector can be specified simply and conveniently, without additional work.

In this paper, we propose a new real-time dead pixel detection method based on spatial compare filtering, which are usually used in the small target detection. Actually, the soft dead and the small target are cast in the same mold. Our proposed method detect and remove the dead pixels as applying the spatial compare filtering, into the pixel outputs of a detector after the non-uniformity correction. Therefore, we proposed method can effectively detect and replace the dead pixels regardless of the non-uniformity correction performance. In infrared camera, there are usually many dead detector pixels which produce abnormal output caused by manufactural process or operational environment. There are two kind of dead pixel. one is hard dead pixel which electronically generate abnormal outputs and other is soft dead pixel which changed and generated abnormal outputs by the planning process. Infrared camera have to perform non-uniformity correction because of structural and material properties of infrared detector. The hard dead pixels whose offset values obtained by non-uniformity correction are much larger or smaller than the average can be detected easily as dead pixels. However, some dead pixels(soft dead pixel) can remain, because of the difficulty of uncleared decision whether normal pixel or abnormal pixel.
In this paper, the rotating plate method extracting signal and reconstructing original image was proposed. The rotating methode has cell detector array each of which has used in the medical diagnosis X-ray photography. The major problem using the simple horizontal moving or non-moving methode is the size and number of detector cells which have the considerable affection on the sharpness and resolution of the reconstructed image. Secondary, the estimated pixel values of non-detected real points which are placed between detector cells will be the distorted pixels in the reconstructed image. Therefore, the proposed rotating plate method has the exact distribution on the uncertain pixels which were reconstructed by conventional methods to solve there problems. And then, the image using the rotated plate's cell out put signal was reconstructed on the computer simulation. The method will rotated the detector array plate to solve the reconstruction from the detector size and number of conventional methods. The result of simulation has estimated the original pixel position and 81 pixel/mm resolution which the reconsiderlation of the detector's moving orientation, the proposed method has 25 pixel/mm resolution. These results have been represented by 3-D computer graphics.
Positron emission tomography for small animals has very high spatial resolution for imaging very small organs. To achieve good spatial resolution, the system must be constructed using very small scintillation pixels. When a detector is constructed using very small scintillation pixels, the size of the applicable array varies depending on the photosensor pixel. In a previous study, a study was conducted to find the maximum scintillation pixel arrangement according to the size of the photosensor. In this study, a detector with a light guide was designed to configure the detector using a more extended array of scintillation pixels, and try to find the maximum arrangement in which all scintillation pixels are imaged. The detector was designed using DETECT2000, which can simulate a detector made of a scintillator. Simulations were performed by configuring the detectors from an 11 × 11 scintillation pixel array to a 16 × 16 array. After obtaining a flood image by collecting the light generated from the scintillation pixel with a photosensor, the largest arrangement without overlap was found through image analysis. As a result, the largest arrangement in which all scintillation pixels could be distinguished without overlapping was a 15 × 15 arrangement.
This study aim to investigate image characteristics due to focus-grid and head phantom decentering from the armorphos silicon thin film transistor detector the fixed focus-grid is applied, wish to propose right use method of digital medical equipment. Acquired image according to focus-grid and head phantom position decentering using head phantom on armorphos silicon thin film transistor detector the fixed focus-grid is applied. acquired image evaluate pixel value, histogram, plot profile, surface plot using NIB (Image J) image analysis program and compared decentering image with standard image. Mean value and standard deviation value of focus-grid lateral decentering and duplex decentering of focus-grid and head phantom decreased by ratio, consequently increase of horizontality, diagonal decentering. also, deteriorated contrast of image because frequency of high pixel value decreases fairly. according increases decentering, image distortion phenomenon was increase, by next time, pixel mean value of head phantom decentering was no big change but horizontality, diagonal, mean value and standard deviation value of pixel decreased by ratio. Even if increase pixel noise of image because wide latitude and post processing ability of digital detector, radiotechnologist can not recognize. Therefore, radiotechnologist must recognize correctly the photographing factors which increases pixel noise on the grid system installation digital detector and should exam.
For imaging in positron emission tomography(PET), it is necessary to measure the position of the scintillation pixel interacting with the gamma rays incident on the detector. To this end, in the conventional system, a flood image of the scintillation pixel is obtained, the imaged area of each scintillation pixel is separated, and the position of the scintillation pixel is specified and acquired as a digital signal. In this study, a deep learning method was applied based on the signal formed by the photosensor of the detector, and a method was developed to directly acquire a digital signal without going through various procedures. DETECT2000 simulation was performed to verify this and evaluate the accuracy of position measurement. A detector was constructed using a 6 × 6 scintillation pixel array and a 4 × 4 photosensor, and a gamma ray event was generated at the center of the scintillation pixel and summed into four channels of signals through the Anger equation. After training the deep learning model using the acquired signal, the positions of gamma-ray events that occurred in different depth directions of the scintillation pixel were measured. The results showed accurate results at every scintillation pixel and position. When the method developed in this study is applied to the PET detector, it will be possible to measure the position of the scintillation pixel with a digital signal more conveniently.

In this paper, we propose a new confidence measure using pixel selection for eye detection and design a hybrid eye detector. For this, we produce sub-images by applying a pixel selection method to the eye patches and construct the BDA(Biased Discriminant Analysis) feature space for measuring the confidence of the eye detection results. For a hybrid eye detector, we select HFED(Haar-like Feature based Eye Detector) and MFED(MCT Feature based Eye Detector), which are complementary to each other, as basic detectors. For a given image, each basic detector conducts eye detection and the confidence of each result is estimated in the BDA feature space by calculating the distances between the produced eye patches and the mean of positive samples in the training set. Then, the result with higher confidence is adopted as the final eye detection result and is used to the face alignment process for face recognition. The experimental results for various face databases show that the proposed method performs more accurate eye detection and consequently results in better face recognition performance compared with other methods.
A CMOS active pixel sensor has been designed and fabricated using standard 2-poly and 4-metal $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS processing technology. The CMOS active pixel sensor has been made up of a unit pixel having a highly sensitive PMOSFET photo-detector and electronic shutters that can control the light exposure time to the PMOSFET photo-detector, correlated-double sampling (CDS) circuits, and an 8-bit two-step flash analog to digital converter (ADC) for digital output. This sensor can obtain a stable photo signal in a wide range of light intensity. It can be realized with a special function of an electronic shutter which controls the light exposure-time in the pixel. Moreover, this sensor had obtained the digital output using an embedded ADC for the system integration. The designed and fabricated image sensor has been implemented as a $128{\times}128$ pixel array. The area of the unit pixel is $7.60{\mu}m{\times}7.85{\mu}m$ and its fill factor is about 35 %.

In this paper, detection based - adaptive windowed nonlinear filter(DB-AWNF) is proposed for removing salt-pepper noise in infrared image. This filter is composed of impulse detector and window-size-variable median filters. Impulse detector checks whether current pixel is impulse or not using range function and nonlinear location estimator. If impulse is detected, current pixel is filtered according to four kinds of local masks by use of median filter. If not, current pixel is delivered to output like identity filter. In Qualitative view, the proposed could have removed heavy corrupted noise up to 30% and reserved the details of image. In quantitative view, PSNR was measured. The proposed could have about 12-31[dB] more improved performance than those of median $(3{\times}3)$ filter and 13-29[dB] more improved performance than those of median $(5{\times}5)$ filter.

In this paper, we propose the Real-time Dead-Pixel Detection and Compensation System for mobile camera and its hardware architecture. The CMOS image sensors as image input devices are becoming popular due to the demand for miniaturized, low-power and cost-effective imaging systems. However a conventional Dead-Pixel Detection Algorithm is disable to detect neighboring dead pixels and it degrades image quality by wrong detection and compensation. To detect dead pixels the proposed system is classifying dead pixels into Hot pixel and Cold pixel. Also, the proposed algorithm is processing line-detector and $5{\times}5$ window-detector consecutively. The line-detector and window-detector can search dead pixels by using one-dimensional(only horizontal) method in low frequency area and two-dimensional(vertical and diagonal) method in high frequency area, respectively. The experimental result shows that it can detect 99% of dead pixels. It was designed in Verilog hardware description language and total gate count is 23K using TSMC 0.25um ASIC library.
