Experimental investigation of Geyser boiling in Thermosyphon for Solar Collector (태양열 집열용 써모사이폰의 Geyser boiling에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • This study has been carried out to investigate thermosyphon's geyser boiling phenomenon used to solar collector. evaporator section of thermosyphon used to solar collector is very much longer than that of condenser section. From the results from this study, Geyser boiling's cycle depends on cooling water, tilt angle and the applied heat load at the evaporator. In this study, according to heat load, the geyser boiling frequency is lower, but the amplitude higher. For the high tilt angle of heat pipe, the frequency and amplitude are lower and higher in the evaporator region, respectively. Whereas, these phenomena is in contrast in the condenser region.

  • 대용량 전력변환기에서 대부분의 열은 IGBT 소자에서 발생한다. 따라서 소자의 방열을 위한 방열시스템은 전력변환기의 구동 뿐 아니라 각 장치들에 대한 소형, 경량화의 추세에 있어서도 중요한 부분을 차지한다. 본 논문에서는 소자의 냉각을 위해 수냉식 방법을 선정하였으며, 배관 구조에 따른 방열판의 방열특성을 비교하여 최적의 배관 구조를 가진 수냉식 방열판을 제안하였다.

  • 최근 시설원예에서 많이 도입되고 있는 양액재배의 경우 여름철 고온으로 인해 양액온도가 상승하고 그로 인해 양액중 용존산소량이 저하되어 작물생육에 저해를 가져오며 동시에 병원균에 대한 저항정도가 저하하므로 양액냉각법에 의한 생육 촉진효과가 크고 과채류나 엽채류모두 $25^{\circ}C$를 고액온 한계온도로 하여 냉각을 하는 것이 좋은 것으로 보고되었다(교, 1986. 고전, 1987). 또한, 3$0^{\circ}C$의 양액을 24$^{\circ}C$로 냉각해 준 경우 최대 $1.5^{\circ}C$의 작물체온 강하효과가 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다.(남 등, 1992) (중략)

  • The experimental and numerical study has been conducted on the sleeve repair welding of API 5L X65 pipeline. SMA W and GTAW were applied to weld the sleeve. The macrostructure and hardness of repair welds have been examined. The [mite element analysis of the multi-pass sleeve-fillet welding has been conducted to validate the experiment and investigate the effects of in-service welding conditions. The effect of gas flow rate on the hydrogen cracking was investigated. The effect of internal pressure on residual stresses and plastic strain was investigated. The allowable heat input was predicted considering the maximum temperature of inner surface of pipe and cooling rate at CGHAZ.

  • Scale is formed when hard water is heated or cooled in heat transfer equipments such as heat exchangers, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers, boilers, and pipe walls. When the scale deposits in a heat exchanger surface, it is conventionally called fouling. The objective of the present study is to analyze the process of the fouling formation in a heat exchanger according to different types of water using visualization techniques. In order to experimentally investigate the formation of the fouling, this study built a lab-scaled heat exchanging system. Using the visualization techniques of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray diffraction method, the three dimensional configurations of the fouling formation could be successfully obtained. Based on the experimental results, it was found that the configurations of the fouling formation were different when using tap water compared to river water.

  • The characteristics of flow and heat transfer in the heat exchanger of heat pipes with fins have been studied numerically for cooling enhancement of electronic components of KTX (Korea Train eXpress). Numerical analysis and methodology have been conformed by comparing the experimental results for inlined array of heat pipes. The staggered arrangement of heat pipes has been proposed in order to achieve heat transfer enhancement. As results, the geometry change to the staggered array is conformed to increase the heat transfer of the system accompanied by an increase of pressure drop. The current results of friction factor and Colburn j factor are presented in terms of Reynolds number and staggered distance, and are expected to use for design and manufacture of such a system.

  • The refrigerant-induced noise of the air conditioner is one of the irregular noises which occurs at the indoor unit. Because the air-conditioner makers are always trying to reduce the sound pressure level radiated from indoor unit, reducing the refrigerant-induced noise at low cooling mode is very important problem. But it is very difficult to estimate whether the refrigerant-induced noise occurs or not before it becomes problem. In this paper, a method to predict the refrigerant-induced noise is suggested using flow pattern map. It is estimated that the irregular noise from the refrigerant comes from the slug flow in a pipe.

  • It was used as measuring system to diagnose insulating condition, by which was kept a insulating resistance of inner stack and at the same time was cooled electrochemical heat of reaction of FCEV(fuel cell electric vehicle) stack that used a compressed hydrogen gas reacting with oxygen in accordance with variation on thermal degradation of nonconductive heat transfer fluid. Consequently it was developed a cylindrical multi-terminal capacitive-conductive sensor that could be attached to the internal surface of cooling system pipe to evaluate capacitance and conductivity of heat transfer fluid.

  • The objective of this study is to develope ground heat exchanger using PHC pile used to building foundation, and it's element technology. So we made PHC piles into ground heat exchanger and evaluate it's performance. First, we studied PHC pile type, heat exchanger pipe, grouting materials, and present apartment house's foundation condition for PHC ground heat exchanger. As a result we designed BIGS(Building Integrated Geothermal System) prototype. Second, we applied BIGS to apartment houses' utility building in Osan built by Daelim. Third, we monitored heating performance of winter season. 1be result of heating performance was so good to apply to heat & cooling system in building.
