  • The fire took place in the synthetic heat transfer fluid boiler used in production process of medium density fiberboard. This study investigated pressure distribution of the first, second and third passes and the temperature in the fire burner. The boiler's internal fluid is unsteady due to the out of order inverter. As the operation continues, the flame's flow and speed are unsteady. The synthetic heat transfer fluid leak spouted about 120kg/min in the form of vapor in the early period of the fire. The flame extended to the second and third passes. The highest temperature of the second and third pass is $1059^{\circ}C$ and $1007^{\circ}C$, respectively. The synthetic heat transfer fluid spouted through the cracked part of the fire box in the first pass and accumulated on the turn table. Therefore, it is expected that the temperature of the interior of the fire box is above $1200^{\circ}C$. The temperature of the burner rises to a maximum level several times in a short period. On account of that, several explosions occur in the fire burner. Pressure distribution at steady state in combustion furnace is 2~5mAq and pressure distribution at inverter under fault condition in combustion furnace is 10~-53mAq. The decrement of coil thickness measurement for synthetic heat transfer fluid boiler is 0~5mm.

  • Nitrogen oxide is generated by the chemical reaction of oxygen and nitrogen in higher temperature environment of combustion facilities. The NOx reduction equipment is generally used in the power plant or incineration plant and it causes enormous cost for the construction and maintenance. The flue gas recirculation method is commonly adopted for the reduction of NOx formation in the combustion facilities. In the present study, the computational fluid dynamic analysis was accomplished to elucidated the cold flow characteristics in the flue gas recirculation burner with coanda nozzles in the flue gas recirculation pipe. The inlet and outlet of flue gas recirculation pipes are directed toward the tangential direction of circular burner not toward the center of burner. The swirling flow is formed in the burner and it causes the reverse flow in the burner. The ratio of flue gas recirculation flow rate with the air flow rate was about 2.5 for the case with the coanda nozzle gap, 0.5mm and it was 1.5 for the case with the gap, 1.0mm. With the same coanda nozzle gap, the flue gas recirculation flow rate ratio had a little increase when the air flow rate changes from 1.1 to 2.2 times of ideal air flow rate.

  • In this study, the thermal and fluid dynamic characteristics for the coating process of large-sized water pipes was studied by heating the inside of a pipe directly with a gas burner. Heat and flow analyses were performed on large pipes with various inlet shapes. Using large pipes for coating was shown to be the proper shape for heating large pipes uniformly. This type has a screw with a diameter of 200 mm installed at the inlet to provide a rotational motion to the heating air. The rotational motion resulted in a uniform temperature distribution that ranged from $289.1^{\circ}C$ to $352.1^{\circ}C$ The optimized geometric configuration of the inlet of the pipe successfully and uniformly enhanced the thermal characteristics of the devised temperature limit.

  • To investigate statistics of flamelet in a turbulent premixed flame and to obtain components of their burning velocities in a vertical plane above a pipe-flow burner, the local motion of flamelets with respect to gas are measured by specially arranged diagnostics, composed of an electrostatic probe with four identical sensors and a two-color four-beam LDV system. With this technique, the three-dimensional local flame-front-velocity vector is measured by the electrostatic probe for the first time, and simultaneously the axial and radial components of the local gas-velocity vector in a vertical plane above the vertically oriented burner are measured by the LDV system. Two components of burning velocities of planar flamelets can be obtained from these results and are found to be distributed over different directions and to range in magnitude from nearly zero to a few times the planar, unstrained adiabatic laminar burning velocity measured in the unburnt gas. It may be concluded from these results that turbulence exerts measurable influences on flamelets and causes at least some of them to exhibit increased burning velocity.

  • From the analysis of fly ash, which contains unburned carbon, collected from the coal-fired Yong Hung power station, most particles are turned out to be hollow cenosphere and agglomerated soot particles. The sooting potential from six coals used in the plant were investigated with CPD model. The results show that the higher potential presented to Peabody, Arthur, Shenhua coals rather than other coals. It is necessary to measure the coal flow rates at each coal feeding pipe for four burner levels since they affect the extent of mixing of soot with oxidant, in turn, the oxidation rate of soot particles. The unbalance in coal flow rate was found in several coal pipes. We successfully reduced unburned carbon in ash by increasing the excess air and changing the SOFA yaw angle.

  • In this papar, the flow meter system for pulverized coal is developed for the pulverizer-burner system of the boiler or the blast furnace. The sensor of the system a lied the capacitance with a pair of electrode on the outer wall of the electric insulator pipe. The circuit is designed for the measurement of the granule flow density combining as a measuring electrode and a reference. In order to measure granule-flow density, the calibration curve between the weight measured from loadcell and the voltage from the circuit is created. It is verified that the flow meter system has reliability and accuracy using on-line test.

  • Sprinkler installations shall be operated at normal operating temperature of the atmosphere as a fire sprinkler head in any facility to control and extinguish the fire when the fire initially. Recently, however, some flush type quick response automatic sprinkler heads in slow fire place is a problem that can not be normal operation are raised. In this paper, by using the experimental model of the Apartment house of Commons and Cabinet burner size bedrooms fire conditions to form a slow growth rate and can supply more than 0.2 MPa pressure is the minimum pressure that can be applied inside the pipe in the field experiment was conducted. In the majority of experiments lush type quick response automatic sprinkler heads which is used in the country it was confirmed to be incompletely opened as the Cold Soldering occur. This phenomenon is likely to fail early fire suppression and control because they can cause the spread of fire and casualties needed to complement domestic product testing and type approval standards through additional research.

  • The propellants are burned in the pre-burner of the staged combustion cycle engine, and the resulting hot gas drives the turbine, and the turbine operates the turbo pump. The burned gas passing through the turbo pump is supplied to the combustor at high temperature and high pressure, where the gas is supplied in an excess of fuel or an excess of oxidant depending on the amount of fuel or oxidant. When the cycle works at oxidizer-rich staged combustion, its metal pipe can ignite or explode by the impact of even small particles. In this study, we develop the powder combinations for anti-oxidation coating through the analysis of other coating materials and establish the coating process.

  • The unturned carbon in fly ash, recently occurred in the coal-fired Yong Hung power station, caused some problems in ash utilization and boiler efficiency. This paper describes the analysis of unburned carbon and six coals, some tests performed at Yong Hung Boiler, and the results of combustion modification for the reduction of unburned carbon in fly ash. From the physical and chemical analysis of unburned carbon in fly ash, most particles were turned out to be hollow cenosphere and agglomerated soot particles. The sooting potential from six coals used in the plant were investigated with CPD(Chemical Percolation Devolatilization) model. The results showed that the higher potential was presented to Peabody, Arthur, Shenhua coals rather than other coals.
