계층화의사결정법(AHP)을 이용한 전투기의 기종선정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Analytic Hierarchy Process to the selection of Fighter Plane)

  • This paper was studied to present a model for the application of AHP to the selection of fighter planes. For this study, a questionnaire was developed in respect to the criteria of fighter plane and given to 70 reserved officers who had experienced as fighter pilots in Republic of Korean Air Force (ROKAF) to ask their opinions about the candidates for the next-generation fighter planes of the ROKAF. The AHP software developed by Korean Advanced Institute of Science Technology (KAIST) was used to process the data. The result was analyzed by the criteria of selecting military aircraft and the several alternatives for the next-generation fighter planes.

군에서 민항 조종사로의 전환 교육에 관한 고찰 (Transitional training;Military to Airline Pilots (A Korean Perspective))

  • 한국의 항공산업은 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 괄목할 만한 성장을 이루었으나, 그 규모에 비해 행해진 사회과학적 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 한국 군 출신 조종사들이 민간 항공조종사로 전환시 그 적응을 돕기 위한 교육 프로그램에 있어서 주요 고려사항들에 중점을 두었다. 이러한 고려사항들을 찾아내고 선별하는 것을 돕기 위하여 국내 두 항공사의 현역 조종사들 중 군 경력자들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였으며 그 설문 결과를 SPSS에 의해 분석을 하였다. 분석 결과 국내 항공사의 전환 교육 프로그램이 군 출신 조종사들이 민간 항공 조종사로 적응하는데 필요한 임무의 차이점이나 CRM, 영어 교육 및 기술적 환경변화 등을 효과적으로 준비시키는데 적절치 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 군 경력 조종사들의 민간 항공 전환시 그 적응을 돕기 위한 개별적인 교육 프로그램이 필요함을 예시해 주고 있다.

  • Mountain Aerodromes are aerodromes with special characteristics, provided in mountains for the needs of air transport operations. Mountain Aerodromes are approved for restricted use and are reserved for pilots and aircrafts special requirement. In this study, we surveyed the operating system and the characteristics of the Mountain Aerodromes in the ski stations of the French Alps mountainous region. We introduced the necessity and the relevant regulations for Mountain Aerodromes in Korea.

  • Cognitive Radio (CR) technology is proposed for using the unused spectrum band efficiently because of the spectrum scarcity problems. Spectrum sensing is one of the most challenging issues in cognitive radio system. In this paper, we focus on the signal detection of WiBro system band. As most of the modulated signals can be treated as cyclostationary random process, we can detect the signal of the OFDM signals in WiBro system. OFDM symbols using WiBro system have several pilot subcarriers and periodic pilots have cyclostationary characteristic. To improve of the detection performance, we get diversity gain using multiple antennas.

  • Auto Steering System is the device for course keeping or course altering to ship's steering system. The Purpose of automatic steering system is to keep the ship's course stable with the minimum course and rudder angle. Recently, modern control theories are being used widely in analyzing and designing the ship system. Though P.D type auto pilots are widely used in ships, the stability and the adjusting methods are not clarified. In this paper the authors proposed auto steering system with Fuzzy Logic Controller. In the fuzzy control the things that the actual operators of a steering wheel has acquired through their experience can be logically described by the Lingustic Control Rule. The characteristic of the control system were investigated through the computer simulation results. it was found that the fuzzy logic control was more efficient than the conventional system.

A Study on Heuristic Berthing System Design with Winch and Damper Assistance

  • Vessel maneuvering problem in the harbor area is generating considerable interests in terms of marine cybernetics. In this sense, the vessel is operated and moves at ultimately low or zero speed in shallow water area. So the vessel is usually aided by the cooperation with thrusters, main propulsion system, tugboats and pilots, etc. In this paper, we suggest a new vessel berthing technique using dampers and winches as a solution for excessively complicate and dangerous berthing work. In the proposed berthing method, in order to manipulate the actuators (winches and dampers), a simple and heuristic control strategy is applied for a basic experiment. Finally, experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed automatic vessel berthing strategy based on the heuristic control method.

Implementation of CEI frequency operation function in IMDC for FA-50 aircraft

  • The Korean Air Force FA-50 aircraft currently operating in the Air Force is using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) frequency communications for navigation communications with ground control stations or other aircraft. The pilot communicates by changing frequency at any time during flight, and performs communication by directly inputting from the Integrated Up-Front Controller installed in the cockpit. The frequency is designated as secret, and the pilot receives the task with the frequency channel number (001~xxx) and finds the frequency of the channel in the list of 4,000 frequency channels and inputs it manually. This reduces the safety and convenience of pilots' operations and exposes them to hazards that may occur especially during night flight missions. In this paper, we propose a function to embed the frequency corresponding to the frequency channel list in IMDC, the aircraft mission computer, and to automatically change the frequency when the pilot only inputs the channel number.

모의비행훈련장치 제도 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Flight Simulation Training Device System)

  • As the domestic aviation industry develops, demand for pilots is increasing. As a result, the demand for flight training using flight simulation training devices that implement the same or similar interior of aircraft is also increasing. Despite this increase in demand, domestic laws, regulations and management systems related to flight simulation training devices have remained unchanged since 2009. As a result, the criteria for designation of new or developed flight simulation training devices are ambiguous. In addition, proper improvement of the current system should be prioritized for designation of new devices such as UAM and VR, along with developing flight simulation training devices. It is intended to present measures to improve the domestic flight simulation training system by investigating and analyzing advanced cases overseas.

Flight Simulation Training Device Operating Standards for MPL Training Programs in South Korea

  • The Multi-crew Pilot License (MPL) is a new pilot qualification introduced by ICAO to train co-pilots for transport aircraft based on efficient and stable competency to respond to changes in the operating environment and technology. ICAO and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) require a minimum flight of 240 hours for MPL qualification training, and allow the use of flight simulation training devices (FSTDs) for most of the training, specifying the performance requirements for FSTDs. As South Korea is also preparing for the operation of the MPL training program, it is essential to establish the operating standards for FSTDs required for MPL training. This study aims to identify the international standards for FSTDs related to MPL training, and to compare them with the current operating standards for FSTDs in South Korea for presenting a standard (draft) that can be used when introducing domestic MPL training programs in the future.

A Study on Development Direction of Smart Pole for Smart City Construction

  • Smart pole is one of mega trend in smart city development. It has multi-function to get as much as data from the street to better city management. And smart street lighting of smart pole as core part of smart city development is being implemented by many cities in globally. Refer to the latest edition of Navigant Research's Smart City Tracker includes smart city projects in 221 cities, a quarter of which are deploying smart street lighting ranging from initial pilots to citywide and regional deployments that span tens and even hundreds of thousands of lights. The most important feature of smart street lighting solution is "Connectivity" through the IoT technology. In order to implement the smart city, we should have so-called intelligent watchdog and mesh networked post for keeping the various smart city technology development progress and operation properly. Smart street lighting solution could be main infrastructure as an enabler for a range of smart city applications. We can talk about the expected role of smart street lighting for the smart city development on this paper.
