Purpose: To investigate the efficacy of pregabalin for patients with primary burning mouth syndrome (BMS) who are unresponsive to topical clonazepam therapy. Methods: By searching the clinical electronic records from the Department of Oral Medicine, Pusan National University Dental Hospital from 2012 to 2014, a retrospective analysis was performed on patients with primary BMS who were treated with topical clonazepam therapy during this period. Of the patients who were unresponsive to this therapy, 19 patients who were subsequently treated with pregabalin were included in the study. A pain assessment was performed using the 11-point numerical rating scale at first visit, following topical clonazepam therapy, and again after pregabalin therapy. The treatment outcomes were statistically analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: Following additional pregabalin administration, the mean pain score was slightly reduced. A total of 7 patients reported a marked response (>50% pain reduction), and 3 patients reported a slight reduction in pain. Pain reduction following pregabalin therapy was statistically significant (p<0.05). Conclusions: Pregabalin has a slight therapeutic effect on patients with primary BMS. Therefore, we recommend pregabalin as an alternative drug for BMS patients who are unresponsive to topical clonazepam therapy.

Korea Communications Commission (KCC) has been providing the pilot service of URC(Ubiquitous Robot Companion), which is a network-based personal robot, to 1000 Korean households since 2006 to define potential users' needs and adoption behaviors. Personal innovativeness might play a critical role in adoption of URC services by users because much sophisticated and convergence technologies are incorporated into URC services. Also, defining not only perceived beliefs about URC services but also expected beliefs about them are very crucial to reduce disconfirmation between users' perception and expectation of URC services. From this point of view, this paper aimed to examine robot users' adoption behavior by considering constructs such as personal innovativeness, usefulness (perceived usefulness - expected usefulness, P-E), user attitude, and intention to use. The findings reveal that personal innovativeness is negatively related to usefulness (P-E) whereas usefulness (P-E) influences significantly and positively on user attitude. It is also shown that usefulness (P-E) and user attitude have strong positive effects on intention to use.
The increase of pollutant loadings from nonpoint sources affect the water quality of the major rivers in Korea. Consequently, the need for managing the nonpoint source (NPS) pollution becomes the main concern of the Korean Ministry of Environment (MOE). Recently, the policy was changed from pollutant concentration-restricting approach to the total maximum daily load (TMDL) approach to improve the water quality and protect the aquatic ecosystem. Part of the program is the construction of Best Management Practice (BMP) pilot facilities basically to control NPS. Most of the BMPs adopted were foreign technologies which could not be properly employed in the country due to some limitations such as climate, watershed characteristics, etc. In other words, to be able to apply the BMPs, research on its applicability is necessary. In this study, a three-year monitoring has been conducted to assess the treatment performance of the BMP installed in highway toll plaza and parking lot. The data gathered aid in the characterization of NPS pollutants in runoff and estimation of the pollutant removal efficiency of the BMP. The results will be used for the future implementation of BMP in different land uses as well as for the determination of optimum operation and maintenance.
PURPOSES: Though the situation that the roundabouts are actively constructed, researches on the effect of the roundabouts focus mainly on the analysis of the expected effects of using only traffic simulation on the operation. Considering such problems, this study is conducted to analyze the effects of the various aspects based on field observation studies. METHODS: This study evaluated and analyzed the effects from the aspects of traffic operation, traffic safety, and traffic behavior by performing field observation studies with six roundabouts with/without signal controls on the pilot project areas for the roundabouts installed in 2010. RESULTS: Through the study results, it was found that the average travel time decreases by 14.7% and 2.4% on the signalized intersections and unsignalized intersections, respectively. The average travel speed increases by 9.7 and 5.8km/h on the roundabouts with/without signal lights. Regarding traffic safety, the speed deviation among individual vehicles decreases by approximately 18.4 to 32.7km/h, thus confirming the safety effects. As the decrease of the number of conflicts, it might be explained that car crashes and collision with pedestrians decreased by 62.2% and 66.7%. Also the result shows that the lowest point of speed in roundabouts appears near the yield line on the entry area on the roundabouts. When passing through the roundabouts, vehicles enter at a speed of 20-30km/h, which is the design speed of the circulatory lane and drive out the roundabout with a higher speed than the entry speed. CONCLUSIONS: When a roundabout is introduced at the intersections below certain traffic volume there are effects of traffic operation, traffic safety, and traffic behavior.
Purpose: This study aimed to develop a questionnaire for the diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) designed based on the systematic exertion intolerance disorder (SEID) criteria, and to validate the reliability of the questionnaire. Methods: A literature search on questionnaires for CFS diagnosis was conducted to develop a SEID questionnaire (SEID-Q27), followed by a pilot survey to identify the reliability of the questionnaire. Adults (Daejeon university personnel) with a Chalder fatigue scale (CFQ) score ≥15 were invited for the survey. We commenced the survey in November 2019 with a two weeks of interval for the test and retest method. The reliability of the questionnaire was investigated in three angles: 1. Cronbach's α, 2. correlations (r) of the questions, numerical rating scale (NRS), and visual analog scale (VAS), and 3. kappa (k) analysis. Results: Among the total 275 adults registered, 55 (20%) participants with a CFQ score ≥15 were invited, and 31 (11%) [15 male, 16 female] completed the questionnaire. The total Cronbach's α was 0.944 for the test and 0.949 for the retest. The reliability (r) of questions by CFQ score (≥15, ≥18, ≥20) ranged from 0.533-0.928 (p <0.05), and the r score of the NRS and VAS were the highest in CFQ scores ≥20, at 0.933 (p<0.001). The agreement rate of the SEID-Q27 between the test and retest was 87% (kappa k=0.743). Conclusions: The SEID-Q27 seems to be reliable. Further studies are needed to measure the validity of the tool and the cutoff point.
In this paper, we developed a multi-view video content based on real-world technology and a pilot using the production technology, and provided realistic contents production technology that can select a desired direction at a user 's view point by providing users with various viewpoint images. We also created multi-view video contents that can indirectly experience local cultural tourism resources and produced cyber tour contents based on multi-view video (realistic technology). This technology development can be used to create 3D interactive real-world contents that are used in all public education fields such as libraries, kindergartens, elementary schools, middle schools, elderly universities, housewives classrooms, lifelong education centers, The domestic VR market is still in it's infancy, and it's expected to develop in combination with the 3D market related to games and shopping malls. As the domestic educational trend and the demand for social public education system are growing, it is expected to increase gradually.

The death rate in the construction industry, which is more than twice that of other industries, increases the need to solve chronic safety problems. In a situation in which the safety management measures that have been maintained thus far are unable to reduce construction accidents, the introduction of smart construction safety technology (SCST) that reflects the 4th industrial technology is required for the safety management of workers. Large corporations or public institutions have introduced SCST and are operating pilot sites, but SCST is still in its infancy and there have yet to exist field data regarding necessity and effectiveness. In this study, the concept of SCST, which has still to be established, is defined, and the actual condition of SCST was analyzed through a survey. Through the analysis of the necessity of SCST introduction, convenience, and effectiveness before and after its application, problems such as problems from the field point of view as well as other factors hindering the introduction of such technology are derived in detail. In addition, an effective combination of technologies for safety management at the current level is determined and an activation plan is presented.

These days construction management is executed in an information technology environment, which creates a large volume of digital data. At the completion of a project, the contractor is required to transfer to the owner the digital data as project deliverables usually in a form of CD's. From an enterprise-wide view point, this traditional way makes the management of project deliverables ineffective as the data accumulated from different projects could be enormous. The objective of this paper is to propose a structured way to utilize a XML database for better management of project deliverables. The XML database provides an environment which users can access through a project deliverable management system (PDMS). A pilot of the PDMS has been developed to test the effectiveness of document control. The result of the test demonstrates that the effectiveness of project deliverable management can be increased by providing a high transportability and usability of data in the construction life cycle.
Purpose: The presence of alcoholic stool in biliary atresia (BA) patients is the basis of a stool color card (SCC), a screening tool that has led to more patients receiving Kasai portoenterostomy earlier. This study aimed to evaluate the color image processing of stool images captured using smartphones. We propose that measuring digital color parameters is a more objective method for identifying BA stools and may improve the sensitivity of BA screening. Methods: A prospective study was conducted in five hospitals in Thailand between October 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021. Stools from infants presenting with jaundice, acholic stool, or dark-colored urine were photographed. Digital image color analysis was performed, and software was developed based on the color on the original SCC. Sensitivity and specificity for predicting BA stools were compared between the SCC and the software. Results: Of 33 infants eligible for data collection, 19 were diagnosed with BA. Saturation and blue were two potential digital color parameters used to differentiate BA stools. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used to determine the optimum cutoff point of both values, and when saturation ≤56 or blue ≥61 was set as a threshold for detecting BA stool, high accuracy was achieved at 81.8% and 78.8%, respectively. Conclusion: Digital image processing is a promising technology. With appropriate cutoff values of saturation in hue, saturation, value and blue in red, green, blue color models, BA stools can be identified, and equivocal-colored stools of non-BA patients can be differentiated with acceptable accuracy in infants presenting with jaundice.

The natural science course students had significantly higher mean than the humanities course students in all of the test:(1st, F=12.643, p=0.0004 ; 2nd, F=45.757, p=0.0001 ; 3rd, F=36.162, p=0.0001). A significant interaction of sex and course was found in only 1st test( F=11.352. p=0.0008). (3) Most students answered the test was difficult and they needed more time to finish it Also, they added they had to study in a different way from the traditional one in order to prepare the new college entrance exam. Science teachers answered that those evaluation objectives of the tests corresponded well with the educational objectives of high school science and that the tests were suitable as measuring instruments of the scientific thinking abilities. But they pointed out it would be very difficult for them to teach students for preparing the exam under the exsting educational conditions. To carry out successfully the competency exam for college education, the following improvements were suggested. (1) Good evaluation methodology should be developed. (2) In-service science teacher training models on evaluation should be put in force. (3) Effective teaching models and strategies should be developed.(4) The high school science curriculum should be revised.
