[ $Papridry^{TM}$ ], A New Technique for Drying of Paper and Board

  • Drying is the least developed of all unit operations of paper and board manufacture. While groundbreaking developments were Introduced during the several past decades in forming, pressing and calendering, no radical changes occurred in drying. The cylinder-drying technology is now more than 200 years old and, while it was subject to many incremental improvements, many of its inherent problems persist. We believe that conventional drying is now approaching the end of its life and the industry is ready for a major breakthrough in drying. Indeed several innovative technologies already exist at various stages of development or commercialization. In general, the novel drying technologies are striving to increase the drying rate, improve the product quality and boost the energy efficiency of drying. A novel, drying method, $Papridry^{TM}$, which combines conductive and convective heat transfer to obtain very high drying rates, is at an advanced stage of development at Paprican. The results obtained when drying printing paper ana board on a self-standing pilot $Papridry^{TM}$ machine and on the pilot paper machine equipped with a tandem of two $Papridry^{TM}$ units demonstrate both, the high drying rate and improved product quality achieved by using this drying method. A mathematical model of this operation has been developed and the software compiled with this model was used to calculate the effect of installing a $Papridry^{TM}$ unit into an existing dryer section. The model also allows to calculate the z-direction distribution of moisture and temperature at various points of the dryer section.

지능형 교통 환경에서 미국정부의 보안인증관리 & Pilot 정책 (Security Credential Management & Pilot Policy of U.S. Government in Intelligent Transport Environment)

  • 본 논문은 미국 정부가 추진하고 있는 커넥티드 차량에서 SCMS와 파일롯 정책에 대해 분석하였다. SCMS는 인증, 무결성, 프라이버시, 그리고 상호운용성을 보장한다. 미국의 SCMS 지원위원회는 국가단위의 SCMS를 설립하고 시스템 전반에 대한 통제 역할을 수행하고 있다. 물론 보안 정책 수립 그리고 절차와 훈련 프로그램을 도입한다. 본 논문에서는 C-ITS에 적용하는 SCMS의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다. 그리고 SCMS의 구조에 대해 분석하였고 미국 정부의 커넥티드 차량의 파일롯 정책에 대해 고찰하였다. SCMS의 필요성에 대한 논의에서 차량과 차량 사이에 SCMS의 역할과 책임성이 중요하다는 사실을 강조하였다. 보안 인증 관리시스템에서는 구조를 살펴보았는데 차량이나 RSU에 사용되는 인증서의 유형에 대해 분석하였다. 인증서에 따른 기능과 특성을 분석하였다. 또한 SCMS가 가지는 비정상 행위에 대한 탐지와 경고 기능에 대한 고찰과 함께 기본 안전성 메시지의 기능에 대해서 분석하였다. 마지막으로 현재 미국 정부가 추진하고 있는 커넥티드 차량의 파일롯 프로젝트의 현황을 분석하였다. 테스트에 사용되는 환경과 함께 관련 메시지에 대해서도 분석하였다. 파일롯 프로젝트를 추진함에 있어서 발생하는 논의점에 대해서도 살펴보았다.

반능동 현수장치의 실시간 시뮬레이션용 궤도차량 모델 개발 (Development of a Tracked Vehicle Model for Real-time Simulation of Semi-active Suspension System)

  • In this study, a real-time simulation model was developed for tracked vehicles with in-arm type semi-active hydro-pneumatic suspension unit using MATLAB S-functions. Since the vehicle model uses relative coordinates and massless link elements, the developed model has an enhanced analytic time performance. Through the comparison of simulation results with multi-body software(DADS), the vehicle model is verified. A controller using on-off skyhook control algorithm is designed with the pilot-centre]led proportional valve based on conventional damper characteristics. Exploiting the developed tracked vehicle model with other subsystem model such as a controller model, a suspension unit model, and a test road model, computer simulations are carried out. Control simulation results with the developed tracked vehicle model show that the semi-active suspension control system has a better performance than the conventional suspension system.

HMUS와 SBR 반응조를 이용한 축분처리에 관한 연구 (Pig slurry treatment by the pilot scale hybrid multi-stage unit system (HMUS) followed by sequencing batch reactor (SBR))

  • 현장 실규모의 다단공정으로 ATAD, EGSB 및 SBR을 조합한 HMUS 공정을 이용하여 돼지 축분 처리가능성을 시험하였다. 실험결과 고농도 유기물, 질소와 인의 제거에 효과적이었다. 각 오염항목의 시스템 공정별 처리효율이 ATAD 공정에서는 CODcr이 43.3%로 제일 높게 나타났다. 다음 단계인 응집침전 공정에서는 TS의 제거효율이 96.5%로 가장 높게 나타났다. 운전조건 중 OLR은 3-6Kg $COD/m^3{\cdot}day$ 및 선속도는 1.5-4 m/h의 범위일 때 평균 CODcr 제거 효율은 HRT 3일에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 유입수의 성상이 영향을 미치는 고온호기성 산화반응은 TS가 50,000 mg/L 이상 되어야 고온발열효과를 얻어 병원균을 사멸할 수 있는 온도를 얻었다. EGSB 공정을 거치는 동안 유기물제거량 당 발생된 가스발생량은 $2.3{\sim}8.5m^3/kgTS{\cdot}d$ (평균 $5.2m^3/kgTS{\cdot}d$)로 나타났다. 후처리단계인 간헐포기공정에서 전체운전기간 중 평균제거효율은 CODcr 71.7%, TS 64.1%, TN 45.9%, 및 TP 50.4% 로 나타났다.

  • To promote citizen's involvement in the GHG(Green House Gas) reduction policy, Busan city administration adopted an pilot energy incentive system called 'energy mileage'. The energy mileage system was designed to make energy end-users motivated to reduce domestic electricity use by providing financial rewards. Through the course of the pilot period, 5,3330 householders volunteerly participated the pilot system. About 66% of the participants managed to make energy saving against the same period of the previous year while 38.8% achieved the targeted reduction rate(i.e. over 10%) and received the equivalent rewards.

전처리 MF의 다양한 역세 공정을 적용한 하수재이용 파일럿 플랜트 연구 (Study of MF membrane as pretreatment option using various backwash process from wastewater reuse pilot plant)

  • Various studies have forwarded an outstanding wastewater effluent treatment systems toward securing sustainable supply of water sources. In this paper, a broad overview of the performance of MF membrane as pretreatment option for wastewater reuse will be presented based on the literature survey and experiments conducted over the wastewater reuse pilot plant. The pilot plant was operated with a continuous data acquisition for about 300days under various chemical enhanced backwash (CEB) system with subsequent treated water quality analysis. Accordingly, assessment of the effluent revealed that the pretreated water is suitable enough to be used as an input for Reverse Osmosis (RO) unit and significant effect of CEB and concentration of NaOCl is also conceived from the analysis. Moreover, it's also observed that the application of various CEB condition over long operational hours induced a constant declination of overall performance of MF membrane.

일개 지역 부인과 수술환자가 인식하는 음악요법의 통증 조절효과 및 음악 선호도 : Pilot study (Pilot Study for Perceived Effectiveness of Music Therapy for Pain and Music Preference in Women following Gynecological Surgery in a Local Area)

  • Purpose: The purposes of this pilot study were to describe the perceived effectiveness of music therapy for pain control and to identify music preference for postoperative pain and anxiety control in Korean women who had a gynecological surgery. Sample: A convenience sample of 52 women was recruited from a gynecological unit at P University hospital and they were interviewed to assess their perception of music therapy and music preference using a structured study questionnaire. Results: Fifty-six percent of women reported that music therapy would be effective and 96% perceived it would be effective if combined with analgesics. The best music chosen for relieving postoperative pain and anxiety were Korean old pop and ballad song/music followed by Korean religious music, American pop songs, piano music, Korean classic songs, and Orchestra music. Conclusion: There was a cultural difference in music preference for the relief of post-operative pain in this sample. Therefore, effects of music for postoperative pain control need to be determined after considering musical preferences of postoperative women in Korea.

2015 개정 교육과정의 컴퓨팅 시스템 단원의 집필에 대한 시사점 (Implication for Construction Computing System Unit of the 2015 Revised Curriculum)

  • 교과서는 교육과정 내용을 토대로 학습 목표 달성에 도움을 주는 도구이다. 2015 개정 교육과정이 발표되었기 때문에 교과서의 내용도 새롭게 구성될 것이다. 본 연구는 교과서 집필에 대한 시사점을 제공하기 위한 목적이 있다. 목적 달성을 위해, 현재 사용되고 있는 중학교 정보 교과서의 내용요소 분석과 새롭게 구성되는 피지컬 컴퓨팅 영역에 대한 접근방향을 도출하기 위해 파일럿 스터디를 진행하였다. 내용의 탐구적 경향은 Romey 분석을 사용하였고, 파일럿 스터디는 로봇을 활용하여 H/W와 S/W의 조화로운 수업이 될 수 있도록 하였다. 분석 결과, 현재 사용 중인 교과서 중에 학생들의 사고력 신장 도움에 적합한 교과서는 한 권이었으며, 피지컬 컴퓨팅 영역의 경우 탐구적 수업이 긍정적으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 교과서 구성에서 활동을 중시하는 형태의 집필이 필요할 것을 시사하였다.

  • In this study, developed a micro-level experimental setup to measure pore pressure and poroelastic modulus in various strain and strain rate about a stress in micro-structure of bone tissue. It is essential device in the development of the model to analysis the interstitial bone fluid flow of the lacuno-canalicular system to be known that would effect on the bone remodeling. The constitution of the experimental setup is as follows, microscopic image processing system; actuator control unit; load measurement system. A pilot study was used an artificial chemical wood to have similar poroelastic property of bone matrix and conducted to validate the suitability of the measurement system.

Optimization of Repulping Process of Unsorted ONP for Pulp Mold (II) - Pilot trial -

  • In order to utilize unsorted ONP, which contains leaflets (printed coated papers), as a raw material to produce pulp mold, optimum conditions for repulping were investigated with the pilot Helico pulper at Centre Technique du Paper (CTP), France. Two major process factors were focused: repulping concentration and rotor speed. Repulping at a higher concentration showed more rapid defibering kinetics. Increasing the rotational speed of rotor at the optimum repulping concentration accelerated the defibering kinetics while it also led to higher fines generation and faster decrease in drainage property of the produced pulp. Hence, an alternative way was suggested: starting repulping at a conventional rotor speed and then accelerating the rotor speed for the last minute(s) of repulping.
