Two Stage CMOS Class E RF Power Amplifier (2단 CMOS Class E RF 전력증폭기)

  • In this paper, low voltage and two stage CMOS Class E RF power amplifier for ISM(Industrial/Scientific/Medical) Open Band is presented. The power amplifier operates at 2.4GHz frequency, and is designed and simulated with a 0.35um CMOS technology and HSPICE simulator. The power amplifier is simple structure of two stage Class E power amplifier. The design procedure determing matching network was presented. The power amplifier is composed of input stage matching network, preamplifier, interstage matching network, power amplifier, and output stage matching network. The matching networks of input stage and interstage were constituted by pi($\pi$) type and L type respectively. At 2.4GHz operating frequency, and with a 2.5V supply voltage, the power amplifier delivers 23dBm output power to a 50${\Omega}$ load with 39% power added efficiency(PAE).

New Dead Time Compensation Method in Voltage-Fed PWM Inverter (전압형 PWM 인버터에서의 새로운 데드 타임 보상 기법)

  • This paper has proposed a new dead time compensation method for a voltage-fed PMW inverter. In the voltage-fed PMW inverter, a voltage distortion is generated by the dead time effect and the nonlinear characteristics of the switching devices. Especially, the distorted voltage causes 5th and 7th harmonics in the stationary phase currents, and 6th harmonic in the synchronous phase currents. As a result, the integrator output of the synchronous PI current regulator has the ripple corresponding to six times of the inverter output frequency. In this paper, the signal of the integrator output of the d-axis current regulator is used as the control signal for the dead time compensation. The experimental and simulation results are presented to verify the validity of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose the trellis coded spread spectrum communication system with one channel signal selection of the subset by the PN code. This paper proposes the Viterbi decoder that have the squared Euclidean distance of the order phase difference as well as 1st order phase difference as the branch metrics by using the multiple symbol detection method. TCM method was developed to overcome limited power and bandwidth efficiently in digital communication. we multiply one of convolution code's output data to PN code for applying TCM to the spread spectrum. We investigated the performance of the direct sequence/spread spectrum communication system with trellis coded modulation. In this system, we could improved the coding gain in the spread spectrum.

A Study on layered Space Time Trellis codes for MIMO system based on Iterative Decoding Algorithm (MIMO 시스템에서 반복 복호 알고리즘 기반의 계층적 시공간 부호화 방식 연구)

  • The next-generation wireless communication requires fast transmission speeds with various services and high reliability. In order to satisfy these needs we study MIMO system used layered space time coded system (LST) combining space time trellis codes (STTC) with turbo codes. In LST, two codes that are inner and outer codes are concatenated in the serial fashion. The inner codes are turbo Pi codes suggested in DVB-RCS NG system, and outer codes are STTC codes proposed by Blum. The interleaver technique is used to efficiently combine two codes. And we proposed and simulated that a full iteration method between turbo decoder and BCJR decoder to improve the performance instead of only processing inner-iteration turbo decoder. The simulation results of proposed effective layered method show improving BER performance about 1.3~1.5dB than conventional one.

  • In order to utilize BSC as an operational tool for communicating strategies across the hierarchies of the organization, a growing number of companies have tried to link BSC processes with other PI tools. Company D has carried out the SEM project to identify the causal structure between innovation activities and performance management in 2005 and 2006. The company synthesizes BSC and 6 Sigma methodologies at the BU level, and the new process made it possible to manage performances and make decision more "realistic" on the basis of information technologies. We expect that this study provide organizations, which have difficulties streamlining the performance management processes at the strategic level and those of operational level, with implications for realizing more "execution-oriented" RTE.

An Integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometric Sensor based on Rib Waveguides (Rib 도파로 기반 집적 마흐젠더 간섭계 센서)

  • An integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometric sensor operating at 632.8 nm was designed and fabricated by the technology of planar rib waveguides. Rib waveguide based on silica system ($SiO_2-SiO_xN_y-SiO_2$) was geometrically designed to have single mode operation and high sensitivity. It was structured by semiconductor fabrication processes such as thin film deposition, photolithography, and RIE (Reactive Ion Etching). With the power observation, propagation loss measurement by cut-back method showed about 4.82 dB/cm for rib waveguides. Additionally the chromium mask process for an etch stop was employed to solve the core damaging problem in patterning the sensing zone on the chip. Refractive index measurement of water/ethanol mixture with this device finally showed a sensitivity of about $\pi$/($4.04{\times}10^{-3}$).

Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Characterization of Cu(II) and Cd(II) Coordination Compounds Based on Ligand 2-(3-(Pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)acetic Acid

  • Two novel coordination compounds $[Cu_2(pypya)_3(H_2O)_2]{\cdot}Cl{\cdot}(H_2O)_5$ (1) and $\{[Cd(pypya)(ta)_{1/2}]{\cdot}H_2O\}_n$ (2) (Hpypya=2-(3-(pyridin-2-yl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)acetic acid, $H_2ta$=terephthalic acid) were synthesized and characterized by single X-ray diffraction. Structure determination reveals that complex 1 and complex 2 crystallize in the triclinic system, with the P-1 space group. The asymmetric unit of 1 contains two Cu(II) ions, and their coordination modes are different. These units of complex 1 are linked together via hydrogen bonds and ${\pi}-{\pi}$ interactions, and the 3D structure of complex 1 was formed. Complex 2, a mononuclear Cd(II) coordination compound, has a 2D structure which was constructed via coordination bonds. TGA and fluorescence spectra analysis of complex 1 and complex 2 have also been studied. In addition, the geometry parameters of complex 1 have been optimized with the B3LYP method of density functional theory (DFT) to explain its coordination behavior. The electronic properties of the complex 1 and ligand Hpypya have been investigated based on the nature bond orbital (NBO) analysis at the B3LYP level of theory. The result verifies that the synergistic effect have occurred in the compound.

Study on a Navigated Simulator of the Underwater Cleaning Robot (수중청소로봇의 운항 제어용 시뮬레이터 연구)

  • In this paper, a 3-D simulator was developed to estimate visually the performance of propelling and integrated control system of the underwater cleaning robot. Based on the dynamics analysis of the UCR, the 3-D model of the UCR was used in the simulator in which position and velocity are included Also, an input and control system using a joystick was developed, and the simulator was applied to the input and control of the simulator. Moreover, an integrated navigation control system was designed, and its performance was validated by a way-point simulator including a PI-based fuzzy control law.

  • Graphene is a good candidate for the future nano-electronic materials because it has excellent conductivity, mobility, transparency, flexibility and others. Until now, most graphene researches are focused on the nano electronic device applications, however, biological application of graphene has been relatively less reported. We have fabricated a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) conjugated graphene field-effect transistor (FET) and measured the electrical transport characteristics. We have used graphene sheets grown on Ni substrates by chemical vapour deposition. The Raman spectra of graphene sheets indicate high quality and only a few number of layers. The synthesized graphene is transferred on top of the substrate with pre-patterned electrodes by the floating-and-scooping method [1]. Then we applied adhesive tapes on the surface of the graphene to define graphene flakes of a few micron sizes near the electrodes. The current-voltage characteristic of the graphene layer before stripping shows linear zero gate bias conductance and no gate operation. After stripping, the zero gate bias conductance of the device is reduced and clear gate operation is observed. The change of FET characteristics before and after stripping is due to the formation of a micron size graphene flake. After combined with 30 base pairs single-stranded poly(dT) DNA molecules, the conductance and gate operation of the graphene flake FETs become slightly smaller than that of the pristine ones. It is considered that DNA is to be stably binding to the graphene layer due to the ${\pi}-{\pi}$ stacking interaction between nucleic bases and the surface of graphene. And this binding can modulate the electrical transport properties of graphene FETs. We also calculate the field-effect mobility of pristine and DNA conjugated graphene FET devices.

Antifungal activity of N-[1-(benzotriazol-1-yl)aryl]arylamine derivatives and quntitative structure-activity relationships(QSAR) (N-[1-(benzotriazol-1-yl)aryl]arylamine 유도체의 항균성과 정량적 구조활성 관계(QSAR))

  • A series of new N-[1-(benzotriazol-1-yl)aryl]arylamine derivatives were synthesized and their antifungal activities $(pI_{50})$ in vitro against Pyricularia oryzae, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. sesami, Valsa ceratosperma and Botrytis cinerea were dertermined by the agar medium dilution method. From the results of the quantitative structure-activity relationships $(QSAR_S)$ analysis, $hydrophobicity({\pi})$, $electronic({\Sigma\sigma})$ and molar $refractivity({\Sigma}M_R)$ parameter of X & Y-substituents on the phenyl group were also shown to be important factor in determining the variation in the antifungal activity. 4-Bromo group substituents (1d & 2b) were the most effective compounds and the $half-life(T_{1/2})$ on the hydrolysis of X(1) at netural pH was about 1.5 day. Molecular orbital(MO) functions of substrate compound, linear free energy relationships$(LFER_S)$ on the antifungal reactivity arid the results of molecular design were also discussed.
