정련 및 세리신 정착처리 견직물의 물리적 성질과 염색성 (The Physical Properties and Dyeability of the Degummed and Sericin Fixed Silk Fabrics)

  • We studied the physical properties of silk fabrics after degumming, the dyeability and the color fastness of silk fabrics after degumming and sericin fixing. As the sericin was removed from silk fabrics, the rate of weight loss increased and both the abrasion resistance and the drape coefficient decreased. This means that the amount of the sericin remained in silk fabrics significantly affects the physical properties of silk fabrics. On the surface and the cross-section of silk fabrics, the silk fibers enclosed by the sericin seemed to be in a lump shape. Each fibroin strand, however, got scattered, as the process of degumming went through. The dyeability of silk fabrics degummed decreased at between 20$^{\circ}C$∼80$^{\circ}C$ the dyeing temperature, on the other hand, it significantly increased over 80$^{\circ}C$. The dyeability of the sericin-fixed silk fabrics was lower than that of the non-serin-fixed silk fabrics, to a little extent. The colorfastness of crocking in the dyed-silk fabrics was a little low and that of the sweat was much lower in a basic sweat. Especially, the colorfastness of the partially degummed silk fabrics was low, because the sericin was not stable in the condition of sweat. Therefore, the process of sericin fixing is essentially required, for the partially degummed silk fabrics and the process of degumming itself.

친환경 재료를 사용한 흑색 지르코니아 세라믹스 제조 (Manufacture of Black Color Zirconia Ceramics Used by Eco-Friendly Materials)

  • The goal of this investigation was to produce a zirconia-family black ceramics that has enhanced functionality and reliability. Color zirconia ceramics have been produced by adding pigments. Pigments cause structural defects within zirconia and result in a drop in physical properties. Using environmentally friendly rice husk, we produced a black zirconia that is free of structural defects. In optimal firing conditions for black zirconia the calcining temperatures of the molding product are changed from $400^{\circ}C$ to $1200^{\circ}C$, and the firing temperatures are changed from $1400^{\circ}C$ to $1600^{\circ}C$. Color of testing the specimens was analyzed using Ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), EDAX (EDX), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analyses were carried out in order to examine impregnation properties and crystal phases. Universial Test Machine (UTM) was used to measure the flexual strength as well as the compressive strength. From experimental results, it was found that in optimal firing conditions the sample was calcined from $1000^{\circ}C$ to $1500^{\circ}C$. Commission internationalde I'Edairage (CIE) values of manufactured black zirconia color were $L^*$ = 29.73, $a^*$ = 0.23, $b^*$ = -2.68. The bending strength was 918 MPa and the compressive strength was 2676 MPa. These strength values are similar to typical strength values of zirconia, which confirms that carbon impregnation did not influence physical properties.

  • This study was to investigate the physical properties and the external characteristics of denim fabrics(100% cotton non-spun denim, 98% cotton/2% polyurethane spun denim) such as tensile strength, thickness and weight, flex stiffness, surface color and shrinkage. The results of the study were as follows. After examining the change of external characteristics of before and after washing finishing for denim fabrics, denim with bio washing had increased pliability compared to denim without washing finishing but the pliability of the denim did not increase according to the intensity or frequency of washing. The luminance change according to washing finishing was high in the order of bio stone bleach washing, bio stone washing, bio washing and denim without washing finishing and the surface color became brighter in accordance with the increase of intensity and frequency of washing finishing.

자초염색 직물의 물성 연구 (A Study on the Physical Properties of Cromwell-dyed Fabrics)

  • This study is performed to investigate the effect of the mordant and chitosan on the colorfastness to laundering and physical properties of the mordanted, chitosan treated and natural - dyed cotton, silk and acrylics substrates. Natural dyes are extracted from Gromwell by boiled water. Three different compounds of Al, Cu, Sn and Chitosan are used as mordanting agents. The result of this study is summarized as follows: 1. Color of the fabrics dyed with Gromwell changes redder, bluer and darker after chitosan treated and mordanting. 2. After washing, the color of natural dyes changes more light and gray, Chitosan and Cu mordanting gives better colorfastness in washing than any others. 3. All chitosan treated fabrics improve air permeability. 4. In the chitosan treated fabrics, a half life of the static electricity is shown good result.

  • Mercerization of cotton fabrics affects their various properties including physical properties and dyeing behavior. In this study, the concentration levels of NaOH solution, with 18% and 25%, and the mercerization temperature levels, $22^{\circ}C,\;10^{\circ}C$, and $5^{\circ}C$, were changed in order to investigate the physical properties and dyeing behavior using Gardenia, a natural dyestuff, and direct dyes. The effect of tension during the mercerization was also investigated. In order to investigate the dyeing behavior of Gardenia, a direct dyestuff was employed as a comparative material for better objective analysis and evaluation. It was found that the mercerization condition of 18% NaOH concentration at $10^{\circ}C$, without tension, resulted in the highest ${\Delta}E$ value, when dyed with Gardenia.

황색종 연초 황변기 cyclic건조가 건조엽의 물리성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Cyclic Change of Wet Bulb Temperature During Yellowing Stage on Physical Properties of Flue-Cured Tobacco)

  • In the flue curing process, the wet bulb temperature is usually controlled at a constant level. To improve the quality of flue cured leaves, we studied the effect of the cyclic change of wet bulb temperature at the yellowing stage of flue curing on physical properties of cured leaves. The wet bulb temperature was automatically controlled between preset high (38℃) and low point (35℃) every one hour cyclically. As a result, the acceleration of the increase in the physical properties of cured leaves were observed. The leaves cured by this method were more or less orange in color, better bodied, and less brittle compared with the leaves produced by conventional curing. However, the leaves cured by this method had a little sharpness and harshness. As to the physical properties, there was decreased in occurrence of flat leaves than that of conventional ones. On the other hand, in case of cyclic curing method, increase of price per kg reached to 2-3% compared with those of conventional ones.

  • The development of a new type of soil-cement concrete pavement using volcaniclastic is the main purpose of this study. Various mixture ratios, specimens' penetration resistance, time of setting, slump flow of fleshly mixed concrete, compressive strength and color characteristics of hardened concrete were studied. It was concluded that the optimum weight ratio of cement:volcaniclastic to produce good properties of soil-cement concrete is 1:3 and the use of volcaniclastic as main aggregate can improve the concrete surface color that is warm earth-tone road color. Therefore, commercial development for soil-cement concrete pavement using volcaniclastic is highly promising.

  • The deep black coloration of polyester fabrics was obtained by the physical properties of color and color mixing system. In this experiment, we have measured the absorbance and the reflectance of various disperse dyes for accomplishing the lowest lightness value and uniform reflectance, and new matching algorithm and computer color matching was made. The matching used both isomeric and metameric matching. The color matching of deep black color represented low lightness. Though actual reflectance of dyed polyester fabrics using these matching results was as high as theoretical one, low lightness value($L^*$) and uniform appearance were achieved.

  • Because buildings which apply color that is various to concrete recently are introduced, value as design element of building is rising gradually in townscape. Even if expense is increased according as importance of concrete that have variety of design because do such social background and connection is emphasized, development of color concrete is pressing. Therefore, in this research, examined concrete physical & chemical characteristics by use of acid agent as part of research to embody diverse surface color of cement material. Here, embodiment of various color by unique color that stained hydrate has as that Color Concrete forms stained oxide that react with hydrate within concrete spreading stained agent that contain acid and metallic-ion in matrix that have cement ingredient on the surface is available.

  • This study was made to investigate the effect of tensile strength(kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$), opacity (%), porosity(cc/min) of the paper manufaturing with the freeness properties of NBKP and the calcium carbonate having the different physical and chemical properties.As the results, the opacity and porosity of the freeness of NBKP, obtained good strength properties from the freeness 65$^{\circ}$SR and the tensile strength from the freeness 85$^{\circ}$SR. The strength properties of paper manufacturing loaded with calcium carbonate appears to be related to the effect of the freeness, and it was obtained the good results at opacity 83.8% in the freeness 85$^{\circ}$SR, tensile strength 3.8kg/$m^2$ porosity 87cc/min in the freeness 65$^{\circ}$SR.Addition of 50%, 55% 60%, CaCo3 was found to increase slightly the strength properties of paper.
