Material of the gasket for lithium ion battery requires the chemical resistance, the electrical insulting property, the compression set, the anti-contamination level and the low temperature resistance. We compounded ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), which showed widely different solubility parameter index, with adjusting the amount of metal oxide as an activator. We did long-term test and compression set against an electrolyte with consideration for operating conditions in lithium-ion battery. In these tests, we checked the physical, chemical characteristics and the effect to lithium ion battery with different kinds of activators. In case of rubber with ZnO as an activator, through 1000 h depositing test in propylene carbonate which is one of representative solvents, we could get the satisfying characteristics and result. However, $Zn^{2+}$ had eluted in the ion elution test. So, ZnO should be limited in EPDM compound for the gasket material in lithium-ion battery.
In this paper, parameter characteristics such as pH effect, isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic parameters and competitive adsorption of dyes including malachite green (MG), direct red 81 (DR 81) and thioflavin S (TS), which have different functional groups, being adsorbed onto activated carbon were investigated. Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin isotherm models were employed to find the adsorption mechanism. Effectiveness of adsorption treatment of three dyes by activated carbon were confirmed by the Langmuir dimensionless separation factor. The mechanism was found to be a physical adsorption which can be verified through the adsorption heat calculated by Temkin equation. The adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo second order and the rate limiting step was intra-particle diffusion. The positive enthalpy and entropy changes showed an endothermic reaction and increased disorder via adsorption at the S-L interface, respectively. For each dye molecule, negative Gibbs free energy increased with the temperature, which means that the process is spontaneous. In the binary component system, it was found that the same functional groups of the dye could interfere with the mutual adsorption, and different functional groups did not significantly affect the adsorption. In the ternary component system, the adsorption for MG lowered a bit, likely to be disturbed by the other dyes meanwhile DR 81 and TS were to be positively affected by the presence of MG, thus resulting in much higher adsorption.

Children grow and develop through play. Play is being used as a friend and a learning material and tool in everyday life of children. It is a research study aimed to empirically analyze the effects of father's play belief and play participation on child's playfulness. A survey was carried out for the selected 284 children aged 5 years and older attending kindergarten located in D-gu, Seoul in order to achieve the goal of this study. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, reliability verification, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were conducted on the data collected through the survey by using the SPSS program, and the research results were derived as below. First, it showed that father's play belief and play participation have a positive effect on child's playfulness of physical spontaneity, social spontaneity, cognitive spontaneity, expression of joy, and a sense of humor. Second, father's play participation had a significant effect as a partial parameter in the relationship between father's play belief and child's playfulness. Thus, it was drawn the conclusion that father's play belief and play participation are important variables that can predict child's playfulness. Therefore, It will be necessary to promote children's playfulness development by continuously providing parent education programs on creating an atmosphere of various interaction at home through plays in the relationship between father and child and a desirable role of father in the play activities with child at the level of preschool educational institutions.
The study was aimed at investigating the relationship between biomechanical properties of cervical muscles and smartphone addiction score in fifty healthy males using smartphone more than 60 minutes each day. The usage of smartphone was evaluated by smartphone addiction survey developed from Korean International Society Agency. Biomechanical properties of three major cervical muscles; splenius capitis, sternocleidomastoid and upper trapezius, were measured by Myoton, and conducted five parameters; frequency, decrement, stiffness, creep, and relaxation time. As results, all parameters had less than 2% of coefficient of variation(CV) between measurement intervals. Also, intra-class correlation coefficient(ICC) indicated a high reliability(ICC>.9, p<.01). Moreover, the smartphone addiction score was significantly different in frequency(r=.353, p<.05) and stiffness(r=.346, p<.05) on upper trapezius; in addition, in decrement(r=-.284, p<.05) and creep(r=.288, p<.05) on sternocleidomastoid. Especially, splenius capitis was closely related with the overuse of smartphone(frequency, r=-.368, p<.01; decrement, r=-.405, p<.01; stiffness, r=-.424, p<.01). In conclusion, this study implied that the overuse of smartphone is significantly related with the damage of cervical muscles, cervical pain, and headache; furthermore, Myoton can be used as an effective device to assess mechanical properties of cervical muscles.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of dance sport participation on body composition and cardiometabolic parameters in obese middle aged women, by analyzing the current literature(2005-2015). The data from 9 studies were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis, and Comprehensive Meta Analysis(CMA) Version 2.0 was used for statistical analysis. A total of 197 middle aged women(intervention group: n=98, control group: n=99) were included in this analysis. An average duration of the dance sports intervention was 12.2 weeks, 3.13 session per week and 75 minutes per session. Significant reduction in body weight, body fat percent, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein LDL-Cholesterol and leptin were observed while significant increase in high density lipoprotein HDL-cholesterol was observed after the intervention. There were large effect size in percent body fat, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol while medium and small effect size were observed for triglyceride and body weight, leptin, insulin and glucose, respectively. In conclusion, dance sport participation resulted in positive changes in body composition and cardiometabolic parameter in middle aged women.
Reverberation time (T60) is a typical acoustic parameter that provides information about reverberation. Since the impacts of reverberation vary depending on the frequency bands even in the same space, frequency-dependent (FD) T60, which offers detailed insights into the acoustic environments, can be useful. However, most conventional blind T60 estimation methods, which estimate the T60 from speech signals, focus on fullband T60 estimation, and a few blind FDT60 estimation methods commonly show poor performance in the low-frequency bands. This paper introduces a modified approach based on Attentive pooling based Weighted Sum of Spectral Decay Rates (AWSSDR), previously proposed for blind T60 estimation, by extending its target from fullband T60 to FDT60. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms conventional blind FDT60 estimation methods on the acoustic characterization of environments (ACE) challenge evaluation dataset. Notably, it consistently exhibits excellent estimation performance in all frequency bands. This demonstrates that the mechanism of the AWSSDR method is valuable for blind FDT60 estimation because it reflects the FD variations in the impact of reverberation, aggregating information about FDT60 from the speech signal by processing the spectral decay rates associated with the physical properties of reverberation in each frequency band.

CTD castings and current observations are taken in June, July and October, 1997 and May and July, 1998 to investigate the effect of the Keum River dyke on the structure of physical properties and the type of the Keum River estuary. Tide and tidal current relation shows that the ebbing is longer than the flooding by 1.5 hours with the early current reversing before high tide. In the rainy season (May to July), frequent large fresh water discharge during the ebbing from the dyke changes vertical salinity difference and time variation of salinity greatly near the head of the estuary, where salinity becomes lower than 2‰ in summer fresh water flooding. Halocline developed by the fresh water discharge makes two-layer structure, of which strength and depth increase in the low tide. The relationship between tide phase and surface salinity variation shows the phase lag of 2.5 hours near the head of the estuary but the standing wave relation down the estuary. This phase lag implies that a low salinity water diluted by the fresh water discharge for 2-3 hours in the ebb period moves with tidal excursion. In the dry season, vertical salinity difference reduces significantly. We calculate stratification and circulation parameters using the observed salinity structure, surface current and fresh water discharge. The Keum River estuary shows a partially mixed type, changing the stratification parameter from the rainy to the dry season. Mean flows of observed tidal current at lower and upper layer are landward and seaward, which are consistent with the circulation of a partially mixed estuary. Based upon the estuary type and circulation we suggest that the suspended materials will move toward the upstream due to low-layer mean flow and then the Keum River estuary will be a deposit environment.
In Korea, there have been various methods of estimating groundwater recharge which generally can be subdivided into three types: baseflow separation method by means of groundwater recession curve, water budget analysis based on lumped conceptual model in watershed, and water table fluctuation method (WTF) by using the data from groundwater monitoring wells. However, groundwater recharge rate shows the spatial-temporal variability due to climatic condition, land use and hydrogeological heterogeneity, so these methods have various limits to deal with these characteristics. To overcome these limitations, we present a new method of estimating recharge based on water balance components from the SWAT-MODFLOW which is an integrated surface-ground water model. Groundwater levels in the interest area close to the stream have dynamics similar to stream flow, whereas levels further upslope respond to precipitation with a delay. As these behaviours are related to the physical process of recharge, it is needed to account for the time delay in aquifer recharge once the water exits the soil profile to represent these features. In SWAT, a single linear reservoir storage module with an exponential decay weighting function is used to compute the recharge from soil to aquifer on a given day. However, this module has some limitations expressing recharge variation when the delay time is too long and transient recharge trend does not match to the groundwater table time series, the multi-reservoir storage routing module which represents more realistic time delay through vadose zone is newly suggested in this study. In this module, the parameter related to the delay time should be optimized by checking the correlation between simulated recharge and observed groundwater levels. The final step of this procedure is to compare simulated groundwater table with observed one as well as to compare simulated watershed runoff with observed one. This method is applied to Mihocheon watershed in Korea for the purpose of testing the procedure of proper estimation of spatio-temporal groundwater recharge distribution. As the newly suggested method of estimating recharge has the advantages of effectiveness of watershed model as well as the accuracy of WTF method, the estimated daily recharge rate would be an advanced quantity reflecting the heterogeneity of hydrogeology, climatic condition, land use as well as physical behaviour of water in soil layers and aquifers.
This research was to apply a multi-metric approach, so called the Index of Biological Integrity (IBI) as a tool for biological evaluations of water environments, to a wadable stream. For the study, we surveyed 5 sampling locations in Kap Stream during August 2004 ${\sim}$ September 2005. We also compared the biological data with long-term water quality data, obtained from the Ministry of Environment, Korea and physical habitat conditions based on the Quantitative Habitat Evaluation Index (QHEI). We used ten metric systems for the IBI model to evaluate biological stream health. Overall IBI values in Kap Stream averaged 24 (range: 20${\sim}$30, n=5), indicating a "fair ${\sim}$ poor" conditions according to the modified criteria of Karr (1981) and US EPA(1993). Exclusive of 4th survey, average IBI values at the upstream reach (S1 ${\sim}$ S3)and downstream reach (S4 ${\sim}$ S5) were 20 and 24, respectively. However, in 4th survey the averages were 21 and 20 in the upstream and downstream reaches, respectively. This difference was larger in the upstream than in the downstream because of physical condition disturbed during summer monsoon. Values of the QHEI varied from 75(fair condition) to 148 (good condition) and values of QHEI in the S3 were significantly (P=0.001, n=5) lower than other sites. Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN) and total phosphorus (TP) were greater by 3 ${\sim}$ 8 fold in the downstream than in the upstream reach. We believe that present IBI approach applied in this study may be used as a key tool to set up specific goals for restoration of Kap Stream.
The efficiency of the synthetic magnesium silicate used in basic polyols and edible oil purification is evaluated by its purification ability and filtration rate and is affected by the particle size and surface area of magnesium silicate. In this study, it was investigated the change on the particle size of magnesium silicate was influenced by the reaction temperature, injection rate, injection order (Si, Mg) and Mg/Si reaction mole ratio. The synthesized magnesium silicate was compared and analyzed for the synthesis, grinding, and refining processes. In the synthesis process, the reaction temperature and feed rate did not affect the average particle size change of magnesium silicate, while the reaction molar ratio of Mg / Si and the order of injection acted as main factors for the change of average particle size. The average particle size of magnesium silicate increased by 8.7 ㎛ from 54.4 ㎛ to 63.1 ㎛ at Mg injection when Mg molar ratio increased from 0.125 to 0.500, and increased by about 4.8 ㎛ from 47.3 ㎛ to 52.1 ㎛ at Si injection. The average particle size according to the order of injection was 59.1 ㎛ for Mg injection and 48.4 ㎛ for Si injection and the difference was shown 10.7 ㎛, therefore the filtration rate was about 2 times faster under the condition of Mg injection. That is, as the particle size increases, the filtration time is shortened and washing filtration rate can be increased to improve the productivity of magnesium silicate. The cake form of separated magnesium silicate after filtration becomes a solid through drying process and is used as powdery adsorbent through the grinding process. As the physical strength of the dried magnesium silicate increased, the average particle size of the powder increased and it was confirmed that this strength was affected by the reaction molar ratio. As the reaction molar ratio of Mg / Si increased, the physical strength of magnesium silicate decreased and the average particle size after grinding decreased by about 40% compared to the average particle size after synthesis. This reduction of strength resulted in an improvement of the refining ability due to the decrease of the average particle size and the increase of the amount of fine particle after the pulverization, but it resulted in the decrease of the purification filtration rate. While the molar ratio of Mg/Si was increased from 0.125 to 0.5 at Mg injection, the refining ability increased about 1.3 times, but the purification filtration rate decreased about 1.5 times. Therefore, in order to improve the productivity of magnesium silicate, the reaction molar ratio of Mg / Si should be increased, but in order to increase the purification filtration rate of the polyol, the reaction molar ratio should be decreased. In the synthesis parameters of magnesium silicate, the order of injection and the reaction molar ratio of Mg / Si are important factors affecting the changes in average particle size after synthesis and the changes of particle size after grinding due to the changes of compressive strength, therefore the synthetic parameter is an important thing that determines productivity and refining capacity.
