등산이 60대 노인의 체력향상에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Mountain Climbing Exercise on Physical Fitness Improvement of Age 60's)

  • To determine the effects of exercise program which is developed to advanced the physical fitness of the old aged, mountain climbing exercise for 12 weeks was performed to the agee 60's. Studied subjects consisted with 50 na: and 50 women, aged 60's, who resided in Taejon city and had not done regular exercise. Body fat, muscle strength, body flexibility and cardiovascular endurance of them were calculated and compared before and after mountain climbing exercise for 12 weeks from September 1, 1996. Following results were obtained therefrom; Body fat reduced $2.57\%$ in made, and $2.68\%$ in female, but muscle strength was improved 3.07kg in made and 2.43kg in female. Body flexibility, tested by bend forward, was improved 2.17cm in made, and 2.32cm in female. Cardiovascular endurance, tested by 1,200m running time, was reduced 18.2 seconds in made and 15.5seconds in female. For the conclusion, there showed advancement of physical fitness after the 12 weeks mountain climbing exercise.

장기간의 지구성 운동 또는 저항성 운동이 중년 흰쥐의 골격근 내 단백질 동화 및 이화기전에 미치는 영향 (The effects of long term endurance or resistance exercise training on anabolic and catabolic pathway in skeletal muscle of middle-aged rats)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 장기간의 지구성 운동 또는 저항성 운동이 중년 흰쥐의 골격근 내 단백질 합성과 분해에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것이다. 50 주령의 male Wistar rat 30 마리를 이용하여 3집단(좌업, 지구성 운동집단, 저항성 운동집단)으로 무선배정한 후 12 주간 처치를 실시하였다. 연구결과 12주간의 저항성운동은 중년 쥐의 족저근 내 Akt/mTOR 신호전달체계를 활성화시켰고, FoxO1/MuRF1 단백질 발현을 저해하였다. 지구성 운동은 mTOR 신호전달체계에는 영향을 미치지 않았으나 FoxO1/MuRF1 단백질 발현을 저해하였고, AMPK/PGC-1α 발현을 증가시켰다. 요약하면 12주간의 운동트레이닝은 중년 흰쥐의 골격근 내 단백질 동화/이화반응에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 지구성 운동은 근단백질 이화반응의 저해를 통해서 노화근육의 단백질 균형에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해서 근 손실에 따른 근 기능의 저하가 가시화되기 시작하는 중년을 대상으로 실시되는 운동처방 시 근 감소증 예방 및 치료를 위해 저항성 운동만이 아니라 중강도 이상의 지구성 운동도 유효할 것으로 생각된다.

  • The aim of this study is to compared the cerebral palsy children with normal children in the exercise and cardio vascular ability after this study as the fundamental data fer mating programs for the cerebral palsy children. The test of this study is about twenty girls, the control group of the normal children(n=10) and the experiment group of cerebral palsy children(n=10). They were studied in four aspects which were the anthropometry, the medical check in the rest, the physical fitness or exercise roads test and the change of the target heart rate during exercise. The result were as follows : 1. The characteristic of the physical type : The control group is higher than the experiment group in the standing height and the body weight but their's little difference between them (p<0.05). The control group is lower than the experiment group in the body fat. 2. The characteristic of the medical check in the rest : The control group is higher than the experiment group in the vital capacity and flood expiratoryvolume one second. The control group is higher that the experiment group in the blood pressure of systolic and Diastolic. There's little difference between them(p<0.01). The control is lower than the experiment group in the heart pulse rate. There's little difference between them(p<0.005). 3. The characteristic of basic physical strength evaluation : The experiment group is the lowest dynamic muscular endurance, balance, agility and endurance which need to move the body with weight. The control group is much higher than the experiment group in the flexibility and muscle strength(Back strength). There's no difference between them(p<0.05). 4. The characteristics of the exercise stress last : The control group is higher than the experiment group in the endurance, the maximum of oxygen intake, endurance level and the out take of calory. There's little difference between them(p<0.01). 5. The characteristic of the change of the target heart rate during exercise : The control group is lower than the experiment group exchange of target heart rate, There's no difference them.

척수손상환자의 보행에 영향을 주는 SCIM 요인 분석 (The Influence Factor Analysis of Spinal Cord Independence Measure(SCIM) on Walking in Spinal Cord Injury)

  • This study aims to the influenced factor analysis of spinal cord independence measure(SCIM), on walking velocity, walking endurance, time up & go(TUG), and subject characteristics. The subject of this study were 12 persons with incomplete spinal cord injury(ASIA C, D). All subject ambulatory with or without an assistive device. All participants were assessed on SCIM(score), walking velocity(m/s), walking endurance(m) and TUG(s). The data were analyzed using independent t-test and stepwise multiple regression. The results revealed that no statistical difference was noted in subject characteristics among SCIM, walking velocity, walking endurance, TUG(p>0.5). The independence score, breathing-sphincter control and ambulation were important factors in TUG(31.4%). The results suggest that SCIM may be an inappropriate assessment tool to predict gait ability of patient with incomplete spinal cord injury. Further study about gait speed, gait endurance and TUG by change of SCIM is needed using to patient of incomplete spinal cord injury.

여성 비만의 유발유형별 일반 증상과 검사 특성 연구 (Characterizing of Four Obesity Types in Obese Women Based on the Questionnaire of Diseases and Physical Tests)

  • Objectives : To characterize four types of obesity and to effectively improve the treatment of obesity through Oriental medicine Methods : At 00 Oriental Medical Center, 203 female subjects who intented to lose weight were requested to complete a questionnaire. These participants were also given physical tests. The Questionnaire consisted of questions both about general life style and obesity in oriental medicine framework. The physical tests were blood tests, a body composition via Inbody 2.0, and physical strength tests. One-way analysis of variance was done to compare the means of items and physical tests between four types of obesity. Duncan was used by post hoc test. Results : 1. Significant differences between obesity type III and obesity type IV in ever tried to lose weight, childhood obesity and excercise times were observed in the questionnaire of general life style(p<0.05). 2. Ducan test showed significant differences between four obesity types in diseases (p<0.05). 3. Significant differences between four obesity types in height, % body fat muscular endurance, soft lean mass, fat mass, Trigliceride, Total cholesterol and ${\gamma}-GTP$ were observed (p<0.05). Conclusions : Further clinical research is necessary in the four types of obesity explored. The diagnosis and treatment based on these types should be further studied.

3D NEWTON 운동과 짐볼 운동이 요부 근력 및 근지구력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of 3D NEWTON Exercise on Lumbar Strength and Endurance)

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to verify the most effective spinal stabilization exercise program by comparing the activities of muscles contributing to spinal stabilization during 2 types of exercises using 3-D NEWTON and a Gym-ball. Methods: We divided sixteen healthy students to two groups in D city were recruited and each subjects performed two type of exercise. Exercise 1 was performed 3-D NEWTON spinal stabilization training during 4 weeks (n=8). Exercise 2 was performed special training program that use a Gym-ball during 4 weeks (n=8). Results: The group of 3-D NEWTON applying lumbar stabilization kinetic program was increased 18.8s after training. Conclusions: It was revealed the statically significant difference between 3-D NEWTON and Gym-ball lumbar stabilization exercise groups. Therefore it has been turned out that 3-D NEWTON and Gym-ball lumbar stabilization exercise has an effect on the abdominis and trunk muscle strengthening and balance.

Effect of Forward Head Posture on Erector Spinae Muscle Activity

  • Background: For instance, forward head posture (FHP), characterized by the forward movement of the head relative to the spine, places significant stress on the neck and upper back muscles, disrupting the biomechanical balance of the body. Objects: The objective of this study was to probe the biomechanical effects of FHP on musculoskeletal health through a relative analysis of 26 adults diagnosed with FHP and 26 healthy controls. Methods: In this study, we evaluated the biomechanical impacts of FHP. Participants adjusted their head positions and underwent muscle strength tests, including electromyography assessments and the Biering-Sørensen test for trunk muscle endurance. Data analysis was conducted using Kinovea (Kinovea) and IBM SPSS software ver. 26.0 (IBM Co.) to compare muscle activities between groups with normal and FHPs. Results: The study shows that individuals with FHP have significantly lower muscle activity, endurance, and spinal extension in the erector spinae compared to those without, highlighting the detrimental effects of FHP on these muscles. Conclusion: This study underscores the impact of FHP on erector spinae function and emphasizes the need for posture correction to enhance musculoskeletal health and guide future research on intervention strategies.

청소년들의 골연령과 역연령을 통한 체격과 체력의 차이 검증 (The Verification of Physique and Physical Fitness Differences Through Bone Age and Chronological Age Among Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 청소년들의 체격과 체력을 평가하는 데 있어 골연령이 더욱 효과적일 것이라는 점을 가정으로 진행하였으며, 본 연구의 목적은 청소년기의 학생들을 대상으로 골연령과 역연령을 통해 체격과 체력의 차이를 규명하여 청소년들의 체격, 체력의 균형적 발달과 학생들의 건강증진에 기여하는 데 있다. 연구 대상은 6세부터 16세까지의 총 1100명의 모집단 중 PAPS(학생건강체력평가)와 TW3 방법 연령 기준에 따라 총 874명(남자 483명, 여자 391명)의 11세~16세 청소년을 대상으로 하였으며, 생물학적 성숙지표를 나타내는 골격성숙도는 X-ray 촬영 후 TW3(Tanner-Whitehouse 3) 방법을 이용하여 평가하였고 역연령은 출생년월을 사용하였다. 체격은 신장계, InBody270(Biospace, Korea)을 이용하여 2개 항목을 측정하였고 체력측정은 총 7개 항목으로 근력, 평형성, 민첩성, 순발력, 유연성, 근지구력, 심폐지구력을 측정하였다. 자료처리 방법으로는 SPSS 25.0을 사용하여 독립표본 t-test를 실시하였고, p< .05 수준에서 유의한 것으로 간주하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 골연령과 역연령을 이용한 체격의 비교에서 11세, 12세 남자는 키와 체중에서 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 13세 남자는 체중에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 11세 여자는 체중과 신장, 12세 여자는 신장에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 골연령과 역연령을 이용한 체력의 비교에서 11세 남자는 근력, 순발력, 유연성, 심폐지구력에서 유의한 차이가 나타났고 12세 남자는 근력, 순발력, 심폐지구력, 13세 남자는 유연성에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 11세 여자는 근력, 순발력, 유연성, 근지구력, 심폐지구력, 14세 여자는 유연성에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 이러한 결과로 본 연구에서는 급격한 골 성장이 이루어지는 시기에는 골연령을 기준으로 체격과 체력을 평가하는 것이 역연령 기준으로의 평가보다 정확하다는 결과를 도출하였다.

유소년의 골연령에 따른 체력 표준지표 개발 (Development of Physical Fitness Standard Indicators According to the Bone Age in Youth)

  • 본 연구는 유소년의 골연령에 따른 체력을 평가하는 데 있으며, 골연령에 따른 체력 표준지표를 통해 유소년들의 균형적인 발달을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 연구 대상은 골연령 11세~13세 및 역연령 11세~13세에 해당하는 730명을 대상으로 하였으며 골연령 산출을 위해 X-ray 필름을 촬영한 후 TW3 방법으로 평가하였다. 체격은 신장, 체중을 신장계(Hanebio, Korea, 2021), Inbody 270(Biospace, Korea, 2019)를 사용하여 총 2개의 체격 요소를 측정하였으며, 체력은 근력(악력), 평형성(외발서기), 민첩성(플랫테핑), 순발력(제자리멀리뛰기), 유연성(좌전굴), 근지구력(윗몸일으키기), 심폐지구력(셔틀런)으로 총 7개 체력 요소의 종목을 측정하였다. 자료처리 방법은 SPSS PC/Program(Version 26.0)을 이용하여 기술통계, 독립표본 t-test 검정을 실시하였으며, p< .05수준에서 유의한 것으로 간주하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 11세~13세 골연령과 역연령을 비교한 결과, 체력에서 남자는 근력, 순발력, 근지구력, 심폐지구력에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 여자는 근력, 평형성, 민첩성, 순발력, 유연성, 근지구력, 심폐지구력에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 골연령에 따른 유소년의 성별과 연령(11~13세)별로 체력평가의 기초 자료인 골연령 체력 표준지표를 개발하였다.

  • An Effect of Muscle Strength Training Program on Muscle Strength, Muscle Endurance, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living and Quality of Life in the Institutionalized Elderly Recent statistics shows that the aged are the fastest growing segment of our population by increasing life span. The age group of over 60 shows multiple health problems and the most serious handicapping problem of these. are related to the changes in muscular skeletal system. With aging, people lose. their muscle mass and muscle strength resulting from biological changes and physical inactivity. Studies documented a 30-50% loss of muscle mass in an advanced age and thus, ordinary life activities can be seriously affected due to weakened muscle strength. Preservation of muscle strength of lower limb is especially important in the aged. Since it is readily affected from reduced physical activity in old age, sometimes to the detriment of moving or walking. So muscle strength exercise program designed for the elderly to improve leg muscle strength and leg muscle endurance. The research design used was nonequivalent control group pretest - protest design. The purposes of this study were to test the effect of muscle strength exercise program utilizing Leg Press on muscle strength, muscle endurance, instrumental activities of daily living(IADL), cognitive perceptual variables and quality of life. Forty nine subjects participating in this study consisted of twenty four male and twenty five female. Twenty four experimental group subjects were selected from C-institution in Chung Buk province, and twenty five control group subjects were selected from O-institution in Chung Nam province. The mean age of subjects was 72.8 years. Muscle strength training program utilizing Leg Press for the experimental group was carried out three times a week for 9 weeks. The data was collected from August, 1993 to October, 1993. Data were analyzed with $X^2-test$, t-test, ANCOVA test, Kruskal Wallis 1-Way ANOVA test using SPSS PC program. Results were obtained as follows : 1) The experimental group showed significantly higher scores on muscle strength (leg lift strength, back lift strength and grip strength) and muscle endurance than control group after the experiment $\ulcorner$F=52.35(p=.001), F=54.07(p=.001), F=6.97(p=.011), F=18.17(p=.001)$\lrcorner$ 2) Experimental group were significantly higher scores on IADL than control group(F=7.51, p=.009). 3) Experimental group showed significantly higher scores on economical state and self esteem aspects of the quality of life scale than control group $\ulcorner$F=10.59(p=.002), F=6.97(p=.011)$\lrcorner$. But there were no differences in emotional state, physical and functional state and relationship with reatives in the quality of life between groups. 4) Scores on IADL showed a significant difference with the level of muscle strength and muscle endurance $\ulcornerx^2=7.73(p=.025),\;x^2=8.86\;(p=.011)\lrcorner$ 5) Scores on self esteem and physical and functional state aspects of the quality of life scale showed a significant difference with the level of IADL $\ulcornerx^2=11.39(p=.003),\;x^2=9.02(p=.011)\lrcorner$. 6) Scores of experimental group after the experiment in cognitive perceptual variables (perceived benefit on exercise, perceived health status, self efficacy, emotion on exercise) were significantly higher than those of control group $\ulcorner$F=32.09(p=.001), F=5.07(p=.029), F=20.63 (p=.001), F=30.38(p=.001)$\lrcorner$. As a result of this study, the effect of strength training exercise program with Leg. Press had improved muscle strength, muscle endurance, IADL, and the perception of self esteem, physical and funtional state, and economical state. Thus strength training program could be beneficially applied for the prevention of disablity and promotion of health and wellbeing in the aged easily and safely. The subjects in the experimental group have maintained their exercises till six months after the cessation of the experiment. This seem to illustrate that changes in cognitive perceptual variables and the improvement in health status have reinforced motivation for the continuation of voluntary exercises. A further study is necessary to determine the factors affecting maintainance of muscle strength exercise and to assess the effect of weight training program on bone density.
